He such a cool teacher. He gives clear instructions on what he wants and still leaves wiggle room to meet deadlines.
Great teacher!!! Makes the class interesting and challenges you to think.
Great young Prof. One of my favorites! Take him if you get the chance.
Awesome Teacher! You have to keep up with the readings and write journals every week but it is not difficult! If you do the work you will get an A. I would reccoment him to anyone!
Excellent teacher and extremely helpful!!!
Means well by being chummy in class. Does not have a wealth of info like some of the faculty here. Acts too nonchalant about his teaching position. Easy grade, but nothing really lasting as far as education goes.
Very laid back, but in such a way that made me want to be there. I have had him for two classes and each time he gets more challenging, but if you do the work he will do whatever it takes to help.
I could do without the weekly journals, and he seems to focus on only certain aspects of Philosophy (i.e. the "what" rather than the "why"), but overall a very cool teacher. Definately good for an intro to Philosophy
Informative lectures. Knowledgeable instructor who discusses various faiths with equal time and verve. Solicits and responds to questions. Inspires appreciation for religious differences.
Meant Philosophy, not psychology.
He is really nice!!!!!!i luv him!!!!if you need any help...he will help you and explain you everything. He does not like to give exams because he does not like the sound of the scan tran...hehehe!!!he is awesome!!!i don't have more words to describe him!
this taecher is young and very cool.. Fun classes and very down to earth
I am in Josh's class this semester. The classes are interesting and he is very nice. I would defiantly recommend him for Philosophy.
Attendence isn't mandatory. By far the most INTERESTING philosophy teacher. Must write journals (few paragraphs) once a week, but he grades VERY EASY. Two essays throughout the semester. HIGHLY RECCOMEND if you want to understand the class.
NO tests! two essays, no mandatory assitance! Make sure you do your journals and good essays and you will get an A+.
Mr. Price, he did his best to make it interesting, he definitely enriched my interest in philosophy, he wasn't critical or bias, he wasn't strict or overly lazy, he was great, no tests 3 essays 10 journals the way it should be. I didn't have to please him to fullfill my grade it was purely about elborating on philosophical ideas.
Mr. Price made this class fun and exciting. He is a graet teacher and by far one of the nicest professors i have taken at COD. I would recomend his class to anyone and he's not bad to look at either
Josh Price is a great professor. Very young, but so so wise and knowledgable. He was always willing to help me when I asked. A great professor for Intro to Philosophy. Josh is also very, very cute too!!! Thank you for all your help!
Price is a good professor that takes his time explaining the work and will do so until you will understand. He is not afraid to get in to touchy discussions and down to earth. I liked his class and if you want a pretty easy A and have a pretty good time in class you should take him.
I never was interested in philosophy and in his class i learned soooo much! and if you do the work (which is minimal in summer school) you will def pull off the A... No final. No tests. 2 essays thats it! ONE OF MY FAVORITE TEACHERS
This guy is awesome. He is the type of guy that you could learn alot from but also a person you can go and get a beer with. All you do are journals, a paper or two, and do a presentation. You complete those and you have yourself an A. I rarely went to class, but still got a B, im telling you take this class.
If you want to learn about philosophy, avoid him. But if you want to get an easy A and day dream in class then go ahead. Extremely cool teacher. Hes just like a student.
Price is very relatable n real. He's young so he can connect well with our generation. He's very knowledgeable about what he's teaching. Religion was journals, 2 papers n a presentation. If you keep up with the journals n do good on ur paper, u'll have an A. I forgot a few journals so i ended up w/a B. Oh, he's a cutie too!
One of my favorite teachers of all time. Took the class over the summer, so it was a bit rushed. Price really makes philosophy easy(ish) to understand. He was always willing to go out of his way to explain or answer questions.
This guy was wonderful. He's more like a friend then a teacher. Early 20s, funny and very relatable. The class itself is a bit challenging, but kids in my class were always excited to be there. Love him:)
I took this class in the summer and I feel it was rushed. He's a cool guy but I found it way to disorganized for me. We also watched a lot of videos, which annoys me. But it was easy to get an A and he had some interesting things to say. I'm just not a fan of Philosophy.
easy A, journals, and 3 papersss no tests ... recommended..
Best teacher I have encountered in COD. Very knowledgeable on philosophy and religion yet you can speak to him as if he is a fellow student or a friend.
Mr. Price is a really good teacher. He's super down to earth and he really knows his stuff. A lot of the below comments say its only journals and 3 tests, but he also gives out weekly quizzes which are a big portion of your grade. As long as you read a lot and put work into the class, you'll be fine. You've gotta be interested in the topic though.
This guy's a really chill, laid-back professor. We didn't finish a lot of the curriculum but the lectures were generally interesting. Quizzes are the main portion of your grade and they're easy if you read the chapter. Plus we watch a lot of movies. There's a final paper; you'll pretty much get an A if you use correct grammar and fit the page limit
JP was a lot of fun. Very laid back and a great sense of humor. Very helpful and explained things well when we had questions or confusion. It's obvious he is passionate about Philosophy and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. Really nice guy and a great teacher!!!
JP was a lot of fun. Very laid back and a great sense of humor. Very helpful and explained things well when we had questions or confusion. It's obvious he is passionate about Philosophy and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. Really nice guy and a great teacher!!!
This teacher will b the chillest teacher in the history of COD. He gives easy tests, and quizzes, cause he just wants the class to b opinion based. & he will never judge u 4 ur opinion! He also will write recommendations 4 ur higher level school! I <3 JP!
The best teacher in COD, very passionate about phil and he knows what his talking about. Make sure to get the book, ull need it. Easy A, as long as you attend the class and read the book. and easy paper too. ;) and Oh he's a cutie too ;)<3.
The best teacher I have ever had. He is very helpful and easygoing. The class isn't all that easy but he gives good instruction and always is available if you need help. If you listen to him and go to class, you should get a good greade.
Great, laid back, teacher who knows his stuff. This was a summer class. The beginning was not easy material to understand but he will help you if needed and material got eaiser as the semester went on. We had weekly quizes, if you read the material you will do well. 3 papers pretty easy. The only downfall is that he is a procrastinator!
LOVE JP! One of the best teachers at COD by far. He is so knowledgeable and makes the class interesting. Weekly readings with a short quiz, but they aren't too bad. He is such a nice guy and will do everything possible to help you get an A, which isn't that hard to do. He's such a cutie which also makes going to class easier. :)
JP is a great professor. Took him this semester for AFT I literally knew nothing about Philosophy, and he gained my interest in it. I will admit that its not the easiest subject so you do have to pay close attention (take notes) each week, 5 question quiz based off reading and class discussion, and 2 papers. Very passionate and a cutie pie! <3
I really enjoyed this class. The quizzes are based on lectures, discussions, and the readings (which are challenging). He also assigns writing projects. We used the text a lot. Overall, Mr. Price was very helpul and generous with his time after class.
He is by far-one of the best professors DuPage has to offer. He is very CLEAR on what he expects of you in order for you to be successful in his classes. He can be tough but is always fair, he especially offers extra credit. His lectures are always solid, engrossing. could not recommend him enough!
Great professor, I will highly recommend and I wish others that teach at COD to be there for us as he is. Do your reading assignments, participate in the class discussions, and ask questions if you don't understand. Easy A if you put some work and a little effort.
Josh is a great teacher. Very passionate and good at explaining the material. Lectures can be humorous, not boring at all. The short semester is quizzes and essays, which can be difficult, but he offers extra credit and his extra time to help. Do the readings! Not to hard to get an A.
I wasnt sure what to expect from this course, but I loved it. Mr. Price was very knowledgeable and helpful. I strongly recommend!
In my top 2 favorite teachers of all time, Mr. Price is wonderful! Great sense of humor, very helpful, cares about his students. Always asks about plans for the weekend/how weekend was and is available for help with papers or questions on readings. Loved this class but sad I took an 8 week and not a 16, could have had more time with him. Take him!!
Very unclear with what is going to be on the test, inconsistent with posting online quizzes. Iv'e been in this class for half a semester and I still don't know what humanities is. he gets distracted a lot. we watched lots of video's in class and then he tells us that they will not be on the test, so that doesn't leave much else for the test.
Prof Price went out of his way for me to be successful in this course. He's a great guy and an excellent teacher. He posts all of his powerpoints and study questions online for the tests! If you read and attend lectures you should get a good grade. I liked him enough to sign up for another class which I'm taking now.
Mr. Price is the best. I've never really been interested in this stuff, but he is so good at lecture and so helpful. He tells you what you need to know before tests and quizzes and they're tough, but there are never any surprises. He's always willing to meet and talk. He's can also be really funny.
Fantastic teacher. Incredibly passionate about what he's teaching and inspires you to get out and learn about the world. Always asks how our weekend was and actually cares when listening. His assignments aren't difficult and he'll probably give you the benefit of the doubt. Not to mention he's young and loves Radiohead and Kanye. Reccommend to all!
He wasn't really consistent with quizzes or what was suppose to be done throughout the semester. He took attendance for half the semester then just gave up. He's a push over that needs to be a little more strict about his class. Test were almost impossible.
Just finished! This was one of my favorite courses ever!!! You must read the book and attend lectures otherwise it is pretty easy to get a good grade.
I maybe opened the book 3 times all semester and got an A. No homework besides short online quizes and a semester project given at the beginning of the course which was made a bigger deal than it was. Kind of boring towards the end, he basically just wants everyone to get a good grade. Easiest grader in the world.
Easy class. Told us he was going to count attendance, ended up taking it maybe 5 times and gave us a point for attending, but didn't deduct points (1/0, basically extra credit for attending) never read either book, got a B. 1 test alone, 1 group test, 1 take home test. have to attend art institute but its super easy if you plan what you need ahead
Great teacher, not to much goes into this class he made it very simple. Hes laid back and very nice. Didnt use the book all that often but he put a lot of info and reviews on BBoard which was great help!
As a person he is very nice. He asks how everyones weekends where and makes the class laugh. As a teacher he tends to jump around alot. I find myself studying harder for short quizs than my 60pt tests in AP. He says there will be a quiz but there won't which is frustrating. I've become very annoyed. I would love this class if he was more consistent
2 papers, no final, never used the book. good teacher, watched movies a lot. one project that you have like 2 month to do
I had a great time in this class! Price was very helpful. If you take notes in class you should be fine on the quizzes. I definitely recommend him.
Josh is genuinely a nice guy and a very good teacher. His class was both interesting and enjoyable. He's a skilled speaker and I found his lectures engaging. He enjoys what he's doing and his passion is quite evident. There was more group work than I prefer, however your success in this class ultimately rests in your hands. Highly recommended!
Josh Price is helpful and cares about even online students he doesn't know. He will answer emails and often sends them out to keep the class updated. As for this course, it is a serious snooze & not for everyone. Discussion boards are everything & are so tedious and boring. I'm starting to hate it and procrastinate just because of how boring it is.
I took this class in the fall. Prof. Price always responded to questions in a nice way. The course is really interesting because it talks about death, morality, and nature. I highly recommend.
Mr. Price is Great. He is a very relaxed teacher, and very interesting. I had no interest in humanities before his class. And now I am taking another one with Price. TAKE HIM!
Professor Price is the coolest, most chil and relaxed teacher in the world. I took him for philosophy and humanities, his lectures are so entertaining!
Professor Price is great professor. Even thought I had him online, he still engaged with his students by keeping them posted on due dates. He responds to emails within 12 hours of the email sent. I really enjoyed having him as my professor and am hoping to have him in a lecture class!
Actually cares about what he teaches, so if your not too interested in the material he can still make it interesting.
AMAZING TEACHER! Mr. Price is the best teacher I've ever had at COD. He actually cares for his students, and has everyones best interest. He was always so kind and helpful, def recommend!!
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!! He is super fun and laid back. He is fair with grading and homework and willing to work with you if you put in the time and effort. Its fun to learn from someone who enjoys what he does. Great teacher!
Josh Price is the best teacher ever. Super helpful and passionate about the topics that he teaches. You will learn a lot and he's very easy going.
Awesome dude, awesome professor. He's a really nice guy and is flexible with your circumstances and schedule, understands that you have others classes as well. One of my favorite professors, easily. Take this guy.
Awesome match maker, got me and the current bae together ;) He's such a chill dude
Price is a very nice guy. He is always available for help in office, or meeting with students at Starbucks outside of class. I really did not have much interest in the class subject but Price did a nice job of getting ideas across. Very nice grader, didn't really do any reading and got a good grade.
Super laid back guy and easy grader. He wants you to succeed and is there to help you do so. Lots of reading for his leadership development class, but the discussions are great and really interesting as long as you do your work. Favorite professor at COD. One of those human beings who much be preserved at all costs.
Price is such a great teacher for this class. He has really great insights on the subject matter; very knowledgeable about it. Inspirational. Although at first, the topics might overwhelm you he makes you love it. There's going to be a lot of reading. He likes discussions. I learned a lot from him. Highly recommended.
Not much work, and not that hard for an online class.
Maybe the classroom is good, but forget online. Takes FOREVER to grade assignments and expects DAILY online postings. Tests nick-pick so get your highlighter ready. This is Humanities not A&P. Read and read and read some more. So glad this is OVER !!!!!!
Mr. Price is very laid back, but once he gets going with his lectures you can tell he is knowledgeable and very passionate with what he does. There was a lot of reading from handouts and I am glad that's over. I don't remember using the book, so ask him if he will use it.
He is a really nice guy in person, but some of the stuff he teaches is very confusing. If you ask he is there to help you out, but plan on staying for awhile because he answers in very round about ways. He lectures a lot, but the lectures are good. Overall I was a little confused in the class, but not to a point where it was impossible to succeed.
Professor Price is one of the best professors in COD. He is a GRACEFUL GRADER, just try to follow his guidelines as closely as possible. Make sure you attend the class every day, more you show up more your grade will be. Show him that you care and work hard and you will be more than happy with your grade. Many extra credit opportunities! Do all.
He's a very laid back teacher. He does give extra credit sometimes but when in doubt, pay attention and take notes to the class discussions. The class discussions will help you for the quizzes. You need to participate in order to answer the questions for your reflections.
Prof. Price is simply amazing. He is accessible, easy to talk to, and offers extra credit. You can tell he loves teaching this class and is willing to help in any way he can to help you throughout the course. I highly recommend him. There is a lot of reading and it is required for tests and discussions. Participation is a must. Online-super easy!
I was really surprised by this class. It was very enjoyable, even with the online format. Teacher was very good and incredibly understanding when my laptop keyboard was ruined by my son. I learned a lot even though I had to work hard on those papers I'm incredibly grateful I took his class. Def recommend.
If you don't like reading, don't take this class! You will read the whole textbook, then take 4 tests total, write 2 papers and do 4 very in depth discussion boards. The content of this class can be kinda dry but he does his best to make it interesting. The is very approachable and awesome at communicating. He is super helpful!
lectures are long. lots of homework, very unorganized. caring but doesn't know how to give direct answers, they always change. constantly trying to make class fun. Presentations are fun. Easy A for a grade but it you want to learn the subject try someone else. just for a grade take this course there is almost nothing to do
Professor Price was hands down the nicest, sweetest, and most intellectual teacher I have ever had. He gives amazing feedback and is actually interested in what you have to say. You'll read every page in the book though. I loved the material but if you hate reading, don't take him. If you love reading and expressing yourself self, TAKE HIM!
overall he is a good professor. but so much reading, and many times you would not even understand what is going on. you may loss your attention during the class because the way he teach is so boring. but he is easy grader.
Price was a caring, informative, and helpful professor with a good sense of humor. Would take a class of his again.
JP is honestly one of my favorite professors up until this point. Really passionate about what he does, cares for his students, and if he knows you're trying in class, you'll get an A. From taking this class, my horizons were truly broadened. 10/10 recommend.
Professor Price is an awesome instructor. He helps you throughout the semester and he will make sure you understand anything you need to. He is very caring and he has amazing lectures. He is one of the best professors I have had at College of Dupage. I wish I could take all his classes.
Really nice professor, the class is very lecture heavy and he usually uses the whole period to discuss the readings. One short online quiz every week that checks your understanding of the readings (5questions max), 2 papers (midterm and final) no other tests are given. As well as one weekly discussion board post. Take good notes to use for papers.
Professor Price is the best Of Humanities classes. Esp. online classes are great!!! Highly recommend!!!!
With the pandemic forcing all classes to go online for the summer, this was not nearly as bad as it could have been. He set out the schedule from the beginning of the course while making no changes to it, he gives clear grading criteria, and the text was very interesting. Would take another course online or not with Professor Price.
Online, Summer 2020. I've taken around a dozen or so online classes thus far, and this class was definitely my favorite. The course has a lot of interesting philosophy that you will need to read and write about. If you love philosophy, especially epistemology and ethics, then most of your papers should be fun to contemplate and write about!
Professor Price is so understanding and really invests his time into allowing his students to prosper :)
SO MUCH BORING READING. Assigned like 100 pages per week to read and it's all pretty boring. The quizzes are a little tough and the tests can be difficult. The discussion boards are really the only other thing you get graded on and they are each long and worth 125 points. The teacher is cool. Only recommend if you're really into ancient mythology
Its an easy class but requires lots of reading. I usually just reading the few first pages and wrote about that in the weekly discussion posts. A quiz once a week but its based on the class discussion so not to hard. Overall not a hard class but it could get boring at times.
An amazing professor who is a light grader and makes it clear from day one what the expectations are. Extra credit is also offered, but chances are you will not need it considering how easy he graded both the essay and discussion board assignments!
Very laid-back teacher, not a tough grader at all which I greatly appreciated. A lot of reading is to be expected but class is very straight forward; reading, then a quiz. 4 discussion boards, 12 quizzes (not difficult at all), and 3 exams. Very interesting class as well. My first college class and so far my favorite!
probably one of the easiest classes you will take but also one of the most boring. Lots of reading and attendance us mandatory.
