He goes over each paper/test in class before they are due and this is important. He assigns things only a week in advance. He is very available and willing to help - so take advantage!

100% of the grade is baised on essay writting. There are 4 essays and even the midterm and final are essay. He is willing to help but unless you have an additional hour or more each week to spend in his office, take this class with a different teacher. Helpful hint: bring a tape recorder to class because he goes so fast its hard to keep up.

Josh Weiner is an example of a great college lecture professor. Say goodbye to high school; here you need to listen to lecture, read the material and be ready to participate in discussions. This sounds like it would be hard, but he is so gifted at speaking he makes the material absolutely riveting. Rewarding experience - just be prepared.

A 5 essay Final. Homework done on the reading (which went up to several pages) every week. 2 reflection essays that he grades brutally. I got my outline reviewed and checked by him and still got a C on my essay. 4 unit quizzes, open book, and open note (totally useless). Luckily he offers one extra credit. Plus the midterm. I died.
