At first I thought this class was going to be easy, but when it got to the 3rd exam I knew I would have to drop the class. The class average on the 3rd exam was 66%! Since she just got her PhD and its her first year teaching, I think she tries to make tests with questions that are graduate level. Make sure you study really hard or take Tillman!

I'm with the other person I thought this class was going to be easy at first because she seemed like an easy going lady. But she is a new teacher so it seems like she hasn't quite gotten the hand of it yet. I got an 94% on the first exam and then on the next two I recieved a C I would suggest that anyone wanting to take Anatomy should take Tillman

Ahlgren was a horrible teacher. She seemed nice at first but don't be fooled. Her tests are hard and she doesnt help much if you go to her office hours or email her. She wont even answer questions the last ten minutes of a test. I would definitely recommend taking Tillman or even Siders.

seemed easy at first, but got harder as the semester went on; tests are difficult and a lot of times do not pertain to lecture notes; not willing to listen to students' opinions; if you're absent you may miss some info left out in notes since she never updates them or informs those who missed class about the mistakes

On a positive note, Ahlgren is very enthusiastic about the course and is able to keep my attention (which is a must for 7:25am). However, she is a new teacher who thinks she needs to "prove" herself by making overly difficult, uncurved tests. She is unreceptive to feedback, almost as if she assumes students are taking advantage of her inexperience.

Extremely difficult; I might not pass the class, and I got a 98% A in high school anatomy and loved it. Tests are ridiculous. If she actually tested on the stuff she lectured about they might be managable. No curve, super difficult test questions, doesn't listen to students and makes you feel really stupid for doing bad. 3rd test avg only 66%!!

I don't know where all the ratings went, there were many of them yesterday when I looked. Extremely difficult tests, unrelated to lecture material at times. She's a nice professor and comes off as very sweet but her tests are TERROR. Dr. Ahlgren is an amazing prof, one of the best I've had at UF. When she says her exams are based only on her notes, she means it. Her exam questions are deceptive and focused on trivial details. Had a 4.0 before this class- never studied this hard, yet I'm doing poorly (though way above the average) Also, she was "busy" so she didn't even upload BSC lectures for the last unit, just APK ones that were very basic and useless. Everyone I've talked to regrets taking BSC with her.

The sweetest and most passionate person I have met to date. She cares for her students and it is obvious. Amazing lectures that really are beneficial for learning, and more importantly understanding, the material. Does not test on anything outside of lectures, so while the book helps, it is not necessary to read. You can get an A.

She gives amazing lectures and Im sure her class is fantastic for APK, however, for BSC - her exams are horrible. They ask trivial/minute details that are nearly irrelevant. She tests you on so much information to distill it all down into 35 trivia question. Her questions are poorly written and extremely vague. First time not getting an A.

I went into this class not knowing anything about it and did not take anatomy first. It was MUCH harder than I expected and a lot more work too. She is a great lecturer and I learned so much, but her exams are tricky and focus on small details, which I did not like. Study super hard and you should be fine. Also there was no A- grade offered.

I am a graduating senior and Dr. Ahlgren is hands down the most dedicated and caring professor I've ever had. Are her exams hard? Yes. Is this a difficult weed-out class? Yes. If you want to have the best possible experience regardless of these factors, you need to take it with Dr. Ahlgren. If you put in the work, you will do well.

although her lecture exams are pretty tough, the lab exams are quite easy to memorize for and the homeworks really cushion your grade! on top of that, she gives a generous amount of extra credit and is always available to help during office hours, so overall a wonderful professor!

Dr. Ahlgren was one of the hardest but most comfortable professors I've had. I've aced physiology, immunology, however, I had to not only study hard for her class but change my dynamic and be able to adapt. Her online class provides video lectures in which she explains the content very nicely; however, it is necessary to listen for specific details!

This was the hardest class I have taken at UF.Although she is a nice professor, she makes her 4 Lecture exams extremely hard (majority of your grade) and there are constant exams every week, 2 LAB exam & Final (culminative). Her test are application based, and not based off her lectures. Also, she phrases all her exam questions weird. Stay away.

Ahlgren is a great professor, she's funny, caring but her exams are way too difficult. Once you fail an exam its impossible to bring your grade back to what it was before. She does offer lots of extra credit which is helpful but other than that this class was difficult for just a level 100 class. One of the hardest classes I've taken. Avoid!

I love her as a person, but not so much as a professor. She knows her stuff well & was in the group me & was easily accessible outside of class. Exams are REALLY hard. Go to lab center often and review models constantly. DO WELL ON THE LAB EXAMS AND START ON THE EXTRA CREDIT (w/stamps) EARLY. I would've ended with a C if it wasn't for extra credit.
