She is the best!!! I took two of her classes, both 8:30-9:30, and I am NOT a morning person. Still, she not only managed to keep me awake, but also interested. She is funny, witty, awesome!!!!

She is hilarious, a weird sense of humor but keeps you entertained. She grades hard at first but it gets easier. Mid term and quizes are pretty easy but you do have to study. She is veyr picky about things like name blocks, and page numbers, which really don't matter do they? Overall I liked her.

As long as you follow the steps she gives for papers, and attend her classes on time there is no way you can fail her class. She is a sweet and understanding person and by far one of the best teachers I have EVER had. She likes to use movies in her teaching and her exams are fair and easy to understand.

Although incredibly easy, she was a very helpful and engaging professor. I think she just repeats the materials for each class, so she knows what she's talking about. If you don't feel like doing the work, find someone who had her before, I'm sure you can just reuse their old work

I honestly can't say that I learned much. She didn't really push me to be a better writer. This was an easy A for me. Expect lots of busywork like library worksheets and daily reflections. I had Prof. Plattner for WRD103. He is more demanding but you'll learn a lot more and his homework assignments don't make you feel like you're in 3rd grade...

She is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met in my life! You will learn SO much from her, about the subject and otherwise. I never had her for a beginning writing course, so I can't say how she would be for those. I had her twice for literature courses and I learned more than you can even imagine. She made a 3 hour night class fly by!!

I really enjoy the way she teaches first year WRD103. She is so funny and relates everything to real life. As long as you do the work in the manner she likes it you'll be fine and probably even enjoy the class.

I took her class 3 years ago, saw her name and figured I would throw in my two cents. The class is not easy, but it is also not difficult. Professor Bean will force you to take your writing from high school level to college level, and I am thankful three years later that I took her class. If you have an issue, talk to her. Sweet and waaaay too perky for 8am. Nice teacher though, her assignments are very challenging (not difficult, just hard to conceptualize and find her ever favorite non-online non-book sources ie interviews). JMB is a fantastic professor. At first the work was pretty annoying but it all came together in the end. She makes it interesting by discussing events, showing clips, etc. Really improved my writing. Longest paper was 5 pages.
