She is a great professor and makes sure you understand math. She loves her job.

She is a pretty horrible teacher. She kind of explains herself, but then just goes off on a tangent and starts talking about physics...This is calc, not physics

While she may not be the clearest or easiest teacher, if you show her some effort in the slightest way, she will not fail you. Its more about the effort to her.

I had her for Calc, and I thought she taught really well. She gives lots of ex problems and does every step so u can see.she's not the type of teacher to do one easy ex and then you go to do ur hw and ur clueless cuz its so much harder. just do the hw

Her exams r hard & long, but she gives lots of x-tra probs! If u don't understand something, go to her for x-tra help, she's very helpful!

Very clear on content, assigns a LOT of homework, but it really helps. No surprises on tests. Overexplains things, which is good and bad. Tests are handwritten, and they are hard to read. She is a good, seasoned professor--recommended for algebra or calculus. If you need help, she will help you.

What can I say... I got an A in the class but I did put ALOT of work into the class. I studied about 12 hours a week just for algebra. She does go fast so you need to keep up really well. If you do not understand one topic you will not understand the next and you will dig yourself a hole. :)

She isnt easy but at the same time she isnt hard - I got an A in her class but that came along after a lot of work - an A is possible but attendance and notes is a must

She is very helpful and provides lots of example problems so you get used to the process of solving required. While this class isn't a walk in the park, if you do your h/w, come to class and study your notes you will do well. **She gives a lot of extra credit -- points get added to your exams**

Ok this teacher is awesome, she explains everything in detail, and u have to pay close attention to her if u go to class expecting you're going to get an A youre wrong unless u do your h/w she even says it.She knows her stuff and makes sure u learn it 2 it's up to u if u want to do well if u dont get higher than a C in her class you're seriusly dum

only 3 tests 30% each test n final is 40% . . . hw is optional good teacher but Calc is Calc its gonna be hard no matter who you have !!

SHE'S GREAT!JUST DO THE HOMEWORK AND THERE'S YOUR A FOR THE SEMESTER.SHE GOES OVER SAMPLE QUESTIONS ON THE FINAL AND IT REALLY DOES HELP.

Really good and very helpful. She will stop and go over the problem again and is willing to go over it until you get it. Doesn't grade homework but doing it is a huge help. I would take her again she knows what she's talking about and will explain it until you get it.

Great teacher, one of the best I've had! She explains all problems throughly! You dont have to come to class and you don't have to do your homework, but trust me, GO TO CLASS AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK! it helps a lot! She's very nice and her class is not boring, but don't disrupt her, cause she can get to the point of kicking you out of class!

Professor Carolla was a very good professor. Doing the homework she assigns and going to class really makes the exams a piece of cake. Extremely helpful especially during office hours. Only reason why I got a C+ was because I slacked off in the beginning and by the time I tried to fix it thats the highest grade I could get. I highly recommend her.

honestly.. a great teacher.. she knows exactly what she's doing.. seems kinda mean at the beginning but who wouldn't if she has 300 talking kids in her class... she is always there to help even after her office hours... and she lets taking the make up tests if u were absent (even thou the syllabuls say clearly THERE WILL BE NO MAKE UP TESTS) :)

i think shes a very good professor contrary to what everyone else thinks..OF COURSE shes going to go fast..she has to do 8 chapters in 3 months...shes nice and she teaches as if this is the first time u have ever heard of any of this..if u took algebra in HS u should be fine

decent professor. She skips around the book so that we understand the material better. She teaches using a step by step method. And she uses many examples. I agree that she writes way too fast, but there is a lot of material to cover. Exams are easy if you do the hw, though i thought i failed. ended up with 100, 95, 100+ for the final. recommended.

She is the best algebra professor out there. She really knows how to explain step by step. Nice lady and very helpful as well.

She is a sweetheart...i despise math because of the teachers i had previously but the notes she writes on the board are helpful when doing the homework....take notes and make sure you do the homework she gives you. I passed her final with an A and it was thanks to her notes and the homework she assigned^_^

Great teacher. Makes math seem simpler and is very helpful. Her tests are not bad at all And she gives yu questions from previous finals which help yu on the actual final A LOT. She was such a great teacher that I took her for Calc. also

She is not to fast at all. I found her to be the easiest teacher at Rutgers. She is very nice and always wants to help all her student. Yes she does have bad han writing but thats why you have to sit in the front so you can see. Exams are easy. Her assistance on the other hand Monica can sometimes confuse you so just ignore everything she says =]

Prof Carolla is awesome. She isn't hard at all and gives a great deal of extra credit,so there is really no way to fail the class if your on top of your game. she is very helpful and clear. I checked on here before I took her class and wasn't siked, but she was nothing like some of these negative comment described. Thumps up!!!

She's a Genius! She knows her stuff very well and wants her students to learn...she's always there to answer your questions. If you are going to take calc II, she prepares you for it. Definitely a great professor.

Here's the thing. She teaches you exactly what you need to know. So if you're the kind of person who needs to understand how things work, don't take this class. If you just want to know what you have to do to do well on the exam, this class is really simple because she teaches you exactly what you have to know, step by step. Personally I liked it.

Omg, what is wrong with you people. This lady taught her heart out, she was patient and extremely clear. Her exams were straightforward and not too difficult. She was kind, gave us extra credit and she genuinely cares about her students. She would take an hour and half out of her time to give us extra lessons almost every day.

Very helpful and clear. Asks students what problems they need help on. As long as you try homework it is fully credited.

Tests and homework are right from the textbook. She goes fast, so ask her to slow down when she solves the problems. If you can solve the problems from the book, you can pass this class without a problem. It's a calc class, so don't expect an easy A or B if you don't study. Overall, she's a nice professor and very helpful when you have questions

Took "Math For Liberal Arts" with her. She does a good job explaining problems, and provides extra help if necessary. She gives out opportunities for extra credit at times, and is a fair grader when it comes to exams. Pay attention, do the homework, STUDY, do EC's if possible, and you'll be fine!

she is the easiest math professor in RU. all the problems are from HW she tells you on which problems to focus on before test, and the best thing is SHE DOES EVEN NUMBERS OF PROBLEMS IN CLASS FROM THE BOOK, so when you study you have answers to both odd and even numbers of HW problems. Highely RECOMMENDED> TAKE HER AND YOU"LL GET AN EASY A

She's very helpful both in class and during her office hours. She gives you the same questions on the exam as the ones in the book.Take her!

She is very engaged in class and shows interest in her field. She provides examples and explanations for all topics taught. All example questions are from the textbook. She moves the class at a quick but manageable pace. Homework is assigned through Webassign. You receive 2 midterms and 1 final. All quizzes are given at recitation on Fridays.

Great teacher.super clear, and does not assume u know a lot already. I had her after AP Calc AB for Calc II, and would recommend her to anyone with the same background.

Certainly she rushes alot but a very easy professor. She is very nice so if you don't know something go to her office hours and she will help you. Exams are right off the textbook and she tells you what problems are going to be on it so its easy.

This woman is so sweet and does her best to make sure students understand the material. She gave 3 exams (40%), homework (20%), and a final (40%). The class isn't easy and she does go through the material fast, but she's helpful if you go to her office hours. She was a lot better than the first calc professor I had, definitely recommend!

This professor is a season veteran who teaches very well. She goes fast, but if u write down her examples and then go home and practice it, you will pass the finals. Make sure u go to her office hours and she will explain the steps to you on a one and one basics. And practice everyday some maths.

Listen i had this professor the 2nd time taking Math, and man i loved her she helped me out so much ; a lot of students are just rude & still coming from Highshool & do not understand that College leveled Math is way different than highschool math, failed both midterms but passed the final with a 95 Studied with her and her TA. JUST STUDY got a B+

Taken multiple courses with her. Get to know her or help her out with her bags before and after class. Genuinely cares about her students doing well. Go to class. She does many problems if you ask her to or even provides solutions. Open-ended exams based off of assigned homework problems so do them and memorize them if you have to.
