She told a girl that she loved her outfit...and that she had the same one in 4th grade. she told me my purse looks like a lunchbox. and that I must clean my sneakers a lot because they are clean but they couldn't possibly be new. She can not comprehend how someone can read a 3-paragraph piece of writing and not write comments on it. her exact words were "how could you have read this when there's nothing written on it." I got an A- in her class so I'm not just mad cuz she gave me a bad grade.

This teacher is horrible. I would never suggest a person to take her class. She is very inappropiate with the stories she tells in class that dont even relate to the material. She does not allow students to hand stuff in if they weren't in class even if it was due to death. She is just a mean horrible teacher.

Nice lady. Decent class. Terrible organization and clarity. It got to the point that we weren't sure what had to be in an essay. Also, some people will say she's a hard grader: she just has standards that are higher than most RIC caliber students are used to. Make sure to speak up in class and always ask for clarification if you need it.

Beware of this "professor." She is far from one. AVOID THIS CLASS. I should've dropped the first day I was in there. DO NOT TRUST FIRST IMPRESSIONS! She likes to talk about her divorced husband and tries to give life lessons. In addition, she is very rude, unclear and inconsistent. The students are always to blame except for one or two times.

I had her for the fall semester and i couldn't stand her. She gives you the syllabus but does not follow it. She gives you instructions and then changes it and blames us for not understanding what we were supposed to do. Gives you 100 pages to read for next class for the test. She loves to find errors in your work and show it on the big screen.

Not that hard to pass but a terrible professor. She not a nice person and is very bad at teaching. I don't know how she got a PHD.

I had rated this professor decently high when it was the first two weeks of the semester. I take it back. She never helps and looks at you like you're crazy when you dont understand things. Shes very rude while having that "polite tone", sarcastic like.

When people in our class make small mistakes in our work, she makes us all uncomfortable by calling that person out and putting their work on the big screen for us to "criticize". She tries to get by with insulting us by using a nonchalant and happy voice while saying it and all of us just look at each other in shock. We aren't happy to be there

There are not enough words to express how thoroughly awful taking this class was. She publicly shames student's work on the projector, holds insignificant things against her students, and is an awful person. She acts like working at RWU is better than RIC. She made freshman year an awful experience and anything I learned in the class I suppressed.

This is less writing and more politics. She spends class lecturing about her political views then yells at you if you dont agree with it. Encourages you to write you own political views in papers but marks it wrong calling it false information.

Probably one of these worst teachers I have ever been around. Horrible grader and will publicly humiliate you. Hands down the worst teacher at RIC.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. At the start of the semester, she's chill then after the dropping period she will be your worst NIGHTMARE. She deducts points on your essay for every small mistakes you make. If you don't follow her expectation, then you're definitely failing. She's very picky about writings. And she always have a passive aggressive attitude.

She is very vague with her information, does not fully explain what she expects. I would not take her class again because what she expects is more than what she teaches. She takes points off for little mistakes. She is very tough when it comes to late assignments.

Cote was not a fun professor to be around. She openly degraded students and laughed at people after they answered questions incorrectly.

She's rude, she would constantly go on and on about her political views. I wrote an entire paper and the class before it was due she changed major pieces of the prompt/rubric. She's inconsistent and not a good teacher. On the bright side, my entire class bonded over a shared hatred of her. (8AM Fall 2016, where you at?)

Shes rude at times and inconsiderate of freshman that hardly had a senior year and expects way too much. I understand college grade level but the circumstances are different this year. Her constructive criticism is not constructive its mainly criticism. I wouldnt have taken this class if it wasnt a requirment. Did not enjoy this class whatsoever.

This professor chooses favorites so obviously. She is very rude and gives off mixed messages. Last class she told me my thesis was good and the next class its wrong and I have to start from scratch with 2 days until its due. She is rude and I would highly recommend not taking her class for your own good.

Professor Cote has the most passive-aggressive and belittling personality out of anyone I've ever encountered. She makes the class all about herself and isn't clear with her grading. The examples she gives sound like they were written by a toddler. She commends work one day and the next it's wrong even if nothing was changed. DO NOT TAKE HER

If you signed up to take professor cotes class, just don't. She is rude, and extremely condescending. When I signed up for this class I saw her bad reviews, but I figured since I was always a good and respectful student I would be fine. But no. She will project your papers in-front of the whole class and openly make fun of you. Overall just rude.

Prof. Cote is mean and condescending, and very judgmental. She has made students cry on several occasions, and her grading standards are impossible. She will grade your papers in front of the whole class and humiliate you if she doesn't like something, and will never be pleased. Her directions are unclear, and students are always left confused.

If you have to take a class with her, just don't. She is condescending, a very tough grader, picks favorites and makes it clear when she doesn't like you. Instructions on projects are also very unclear and often it feels like she doesn't know what she's looking for in the assignments leaving her students confused. Would not recommend it.

I have never had a professor so condescending and rude. Not checking RMP until the first week of classes was my first mistake, not dropping the class while I had the chance was the second. Professor Cote goes on about her personal life, gives unclear directions (then changes them) and picks on students. You could not pay me to take her class again.

Talks a lot so be prepared, she says she "doesn't get mad" when you don't have/use the book but then she calls you out if you don't have it, or if you have the wrong edition. She constantly calls students out in class, to make them feel bad about themselves, about their work, etc. She tries to help, but it only really confuses students more.

Currently in class. I hate it here. Nobody likes her even her favorites. Because yes, she chooses favorites. All she does is talk, she changes her own directions then gets mad when no one understands, and personally I hate the way she talks. Just something about her tone makes me want to cut my ears off. For your own sanity, dont take her class.

book is required, but you barely use it. she does not make the instructions clear with assignments. She is very passive aggressive and does this weird little voices. If you ask her to look at your work during class, she will read it in front of the class and make you feel small and insecure.

Please do not take a class with this professor. There is a reason for her 40+ 1 star reviews. She will beg you to go to her office hours and unless you do your grades will suffer. She is entirely unfair and at times insane. Steer clear.

Avoid this professor if you can - she's notoriously harsh and condescending. Her grading is unreliable, and she'll publicly embarrass students. Try using Unstuckstudy for extra study help instead of relying on her unclear instructions.

She is very contradictory. She states that she's very easy-going, but she's not at all. She always calls people out and doesn't allow me and my partner to work together. She claimed he had the same writing style but allowed others to work together. I don't know how she still has a job tbh. Don't take her.

Confusing is the best way to describe this professor. Assignments were never clear and grading seemed to be based on how she felt that day. Instructions were vague at best and the topics we wrote about felt childish. The assignments clearly did not have much thought behind them. By far the worst professor I've ever had the displeasure of taking.
