She does not explain problems to the fullest.She'll give out 5 different examples and explains only 1.You won't take notes so be prepared to teach yourself the problems. There are definately better math professors out there!
Math can be a very difficult subject for some people. Mrs.Low explains the subject very well. She takes her time and is very patient with all of her students. She will go over math problems until the students have a complete understanding.
NOT A GOOD PROFESSOR. She needs to stop an answer students question, and saying you are wasting my time. She is a waste of my time and money. She is a nice person, but bad in teaching anything. She needs to be replace.
She talks with her back to the class which can be REALLY annoying because it seems like all she does is mutter. She does explain the problems but talk about boring!!! One good thing is she gives extra credit if you participate...but most people are sleeping or doing homework during the class.
You can tell that she knows what she's doing when it comes to the math, but she's not very good at teaching it. She is very nice, and very understanding when it comes to personal things, but she never really helped me understand the material. I would not take her again.

I agree with everything these people are saying, except for the happy face one. She mutters to the board, gives a lot of homework and marks off points for every little thing. I had to drop the class because it was so boring. All I did was sleep or skip class and I'm not usually like that. Horribl

Im not the best math student out there but this teacher really blows. I took 148 so I could soak in the math material and not be overwhelmed. Shes not too helpful and doesnt like to be caught off guard w/ a question. Half the class left cause she was a joke. I was better off taking the harder 150 class. I wish you luck in her class.

I couldn't understand a word she said--she mumbles. The students in the class could explain the material better than she could! If she knows you're not interested in the class, she doesn't try to keep you in the class or attempt to regain your interest. Her philosophy seems to be either you put up with her, or you get out.
Nice lady, types notes for you, doesn't give too much homework, but very boring. She will talk to the board, but the class is overall easy! Beware! It is easy to get sucked into laziness, stay on top and you'll get an A!

She's very dry, and boring. I do not recommend taking any of her classes. This woman has the personality of a mummy!
Although she's very boring, all you have to do is show up for the first couple of minutes of class. Doesn't say anything if you leave. Her tests are very easy. I didn't even buy the book because she gives the a packet of the lesson plan, and her syllabus gives every assignment of the semester, making it easier for me to photocopy everthing needed.
She is very easy and dont care much about attendance, so it's a good thing. Just make sure you come to class and stay there for the first 5 minutes then you can leave without any problems. She gives alot of hand out that can help out. The thing that sux is her grading system, never understood it, but pass with a "B" so who cares...

Talks very very low her last name ain't Low for nothing! Never even noticed i left class half the time pretty easy to a certain extent but just do the homework and you'll be fine.
did not know how to explain things well, also even if you did all your homework, she graded it sometimes.
The class is extremely boring. I just use class time to do the homework and turn it in at the end of class. She doesn't care if you leave in the middle of class. I think she's really nice. By the end of the semester she adds A LOT of extra points to the test so it's easy to catch up. I'm getting an A in the class and totally slacking

took her last semester.... passed the class. but she is kind of glued to her chalk board and can be hard to understand at times. she also likes giving quizes the last minute of class to get those students who leave early so they loose out on those quiz points

She is a very nice teacher. She gives quizes at the end of class. She doesn't really go over things unless you ask a certin question. The 2 classes ive taken w/ her were fasttrack. So it was very fast learning class. She teaches as reviwe instead as first time learning. But very nice & sweet lady. people deff take advantage in her class. VERY NICE
Make sure you show all your work and they way she wants it doen will take points off even if you got it right

I took her math 20 & 29 as fast track classes. homeworks everyday sometimes even 3-4sets of homeworks for only 5 points! once-in-a-blue moon extra credit. b-o-r-i-n-g-! & favoritism.
she gives a lot of homework everyday, it's easy if u are a fast learner, & it takes hours to finish the HWs!! she sometimes grades them sometimes not - 5pts only! u could / could not pass the class depends on your final exam. extremely boring. my classmates even sleep in her class! she wont let u though. Heed my advice & NEVER take her class. She is dead set on not answering your questions because she thinks she might be "doing the work for you". I passed her class with a C, took MA 130 with a different teacher and got an A.
Do not take this class. She doesn't care if you fail the class. She gives a lot of homework everyday and sometimes grades it and sometimes doesn't. She is horrible and has favortism.And truely counts attendance, if your not attened you will fail. Speak to the board so it's hard to understand what shes teaching. Gives random pop quizzes.

I HAD THIS TEACHER FOR BOTH MATH 20 AND 29 FAST TRACK. SHES NOT THAT BAD BUT SHE IS TERRIBLIE AT EXPLAINING THINGS. SHE HAS STUPID RULES THAT DONT EVEN MAKE SENSE. AND MAKES YOU DO SO MUCH MORE WORK THAN NEEDED. IF YOU CAN TEACH YOURSELF THROUGH THE BOOK THEN DONT TAKE HER.
this Teacher was horibble! She does not explain stuff well at all. I had to miss class 2 times and she said i would b excused but she never excused me for it. When i brought it up to her attention again she said there was nothing she could do about it but yet she had told me i was ok. This is the first class ive ever failed! DONT TAKE HER.
This teacher doesnt help u with anything. She gets mad when students ask questions. She doesnt care what so ever about ur grades. She doesnt even go by the syllabus. By the end of the semester their were only about 10 students left in her class no joke.

Joyce Low was very helpful, she handed out very neat notes for every section which no other teacher I know does that. She isn't there to be your friend or win you over she is there to teach and she is very good at it.

When asked why you were marked wrong; despite having the exact answer as hers, she says things such as "hmm...maybe i just didnt like the way you did it." its apparent that she doesn't care for her students.
She Doesnt ever care for students and marks you points down if you dont do the work the way she does it. You can only do it her way. It Sucked.
I was there everyday, took all the notes, took all the quizzes turned in all the homework. When taking tests or quizzes I did the work like i learned back in elementary school, still got the correct answer but because it wasn't done HER EXACT way, the whole thing was completely wrong.
She's exactly what everyone else says. non helpful, treats every student like a child, everything will be marked wrong if you didn't do it her way. no exceptions. homework must be turned in; grading is at her discretion. Best advice, find another professor.

On a test I misspelled binomials wrong by one letter and she marked the whole problem wrong. I went up to her after class to get the problem changed and I said this isn't an English class and she said, "yes it is, you have to spell it exactly right." Don't take this teacher, most of her class is failing because she doesn't care about her students!

Talks to the board so its hard to hear her and cant explain the material that she is teaching. When you ask questions she gets snarky and she is very ANAL. I got marked off a whole letter grade on a test for not putting the answer the way she PREFERS it. She has no passion for teaching and could care less about her students. DO NOT TAKE JOYCE LOWE!

do not take her during the summer she gives alot of homework and her exams are difficult she will mark you down for little mistakes, quiz everyday at end of day. final exam and a two chapter test are given. talks very low.

This class is super easy if you do your work her EXACT specific way. Most students that fail this class don't listen to her instructions when showing their work, and she docks you big time for it. That said, she is the most unprofessional, disorganized, scatterbrained teacher in the universe. Don't expect any clear answers from her. Go elsewhere
She talks very low and grades hard. she takes off points for any steps skipped. She wants problems to be solved exactly like the book. She's okay of a teacher, not the best at citrus but it wasn't that bad.

Prof.Low is EXTREMELY OCD about how work should be done. She marks off points for ANYTHING & EVERYTHING but won't explain why. Her grading scale is way off, & when you ask questions about grades to her, she gets extremely defensive, shuts down, and tells you either 1)"we'll talk about this later" or 2) "No, you're wrong". DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
I was extremely disappointed in this teacher. She is very hard to understand because she speaks low and to the board. Her accent makes her difficult to understand also. She blows through the information too fast and is not good at answering questions. If her class is the only one available then wait! Seriously!
horrible teacher, no one in the tuttoring center has ever heard of her and does not explain anything, she expects you to understand the material once and she always says "i dont know" we never used the book and all homework is online, dont buy the book becasue you cant take it back, if you need to take it, just wait!

Low by far is the worst teacher I have ever taken. For a 2 hour class, your just sitting in your chair listening to her until break. Assigns a lot of hw but does nothing for your grade, make you down for the smallest things ever. Started off with 45 people, remaining students were 10. Grading system doesnt make sense. She does not care if students are talking loud or suffering from the noise level. Good teacher if you're ratchets but WORST teacher if you're trying to pay attention. I asked her to manage the noise in the class 2 times and I went to the Dean but NOTHING CHANGED! She messed up with my money, time, effort and future class schedule. She dies nothing.

Terrible, especially picky on showing your work step by step the way she taught it and if you didn't, she would deduct points. Her lectures consisted of projecting prewritten notes. She would be slow to get set up and fuss with things so when we got to the hard parts, it was time to go. We'd never be out on time & she was no help what so ever.

Professor Low, after all the peculiarities regarding her teaching style or her personality evaporate away, what is left is an instructor who does just what she needs to do, and she does just that and in her own way. It"s not so bad to attempt to figuere out math problems on your own, besides you can always ask Professor Low, she's very willing.
She is basically a kid that was asked to do a problem on the board and stayed there for 3 hours mumbling talking to HERSELF (not the class),Each homework assignment is around 80 problems that is worth 5 points each, you are usually given two a day, she grades strictly as possible. This class is a joke never take this class not even as a last resort
She is probably the worst professor I've ever had. All she does is talk to herself for the entire hour, also, all we've got is one hour And she spends the majority of it talking about the IDEAS of the math problems. Not how to solve them. If you propose a different way to do the problem she will belittlactually belittle your opinion. DO NOT TAKE.
In her defense, she is okay. She is not the best professor for Math, but she does what she needs to do. As for assignments, she does show some inflexibility, if you ask for extension she WILL NOT give it to you. For the most part the class I took with her was out of control. I do wish she would take more reins of control on her class.

Probably one of the worst math classes I have ever been in. She gives pop quizes literally 2 minutes before class ends on material that was learned that same day. Her style of teaching is confusing as well stay away
While I generally don't have a problem with learning at a faster pace, this class became overwhelming with the EXCESSIVE homework problems Professor Low assigned every single day. Also Web-assign is the devil :/ If you are already great at math and can quickly absorb any learning material in a short amount of time, than this class is for you.

Her class is typically 2-3 hours with a short break in the middle. she marks you wrong if you don't do the work her way, even if the answer is right. she gives pop quizzes the last like 5 minutes of class, and goes over lessons that aren't on the test right before the test, and all of her notes are online. it might as well be an online class
This teacher is terrible. If you don't solve problems her way she marks off points even if the answer is correct. She's hard to understand and gives a lot of hw that she doesn't really give credit for. Plus her quizzes that she gives the last five minutes of class are unexpected. She makes math much more complicated
I felt so baf for Mrs Low. She genuinely knows her stuff and cares about her students but her shyness gets in the way of her teaching. I would not recommend this class..
Ms. Low assigned a bunch of homework that barely counted for anything, pop quizzes are given just before class ends at least twice a week, and it almost seemed impossible to pass a test. If your work is wrong but the answer is right, she'll mark it wrong anyways. Save yourself time, money, and stress by not taking this class.

I scored a High 60 lol for every test and did horrible on quizzes 60 out of 100. However I did every single homework assignment and studied relentlessly while having 3 other classes. I found myself passing with a B! It took alot of work and determination to pass this class however I feel like the winter soldier when it comes to the math basics now.
I regret taking her class so much. If anyone is going to take her please do not, you'll just be wasting time and probably end up getting a poor grade. When the semester started it was a full class of 40ish, but when the semester ended it was about ten of us, (I wish I was one of the ones that left. She grades the test in a way to make you fail.
