Hes a great proffesor!!! he is easy and understandable and always willing to help and answer questions take him its a great class!!!

You can't miss more than 7 classes or your grade will drop a letter grade but he makes his class interesting and if you just go by what he tells you it is easy to do well. His tests are kind of tough but if you actually study for them you will make a good grade!

Man, he is great. He gives us the lecture notes, review, and its question for question on the test. You have to study or you will fail. Have to go to class too, but its fun. You have to buy the book as there are textbook assignments but they are easy, just follow the format.

Oh my gosh! His class was tough, but I learned so much. He gives us the lecture notes, tells us what to study and its so clear. Textbook work is not hard, NO RESEARCH PAPER. Only a little reading in the book. He uses PowerPoints, tells funny stories. He is great. Take him, so much better than other instructors. Oh, and he is a cutie-pie too. :-)

If you are the kind of person who likes to know what you are tested over, Godwin is right for you. His lecture notes can get pretty lengthy but he basically gives you a study guide with questions he will ask you about. It depends on how much information you are willing to retain, because the studying for tests takes quite a bit of time.

What a great class!! His tests follow the notes, word for word, however, he does change them up (a little), but IF you study - you WILL do good! He encourages questions and class discussions. Be sure to attend class as he has interesting facts that aren't always in the notes and you will learn more! Would take him again...

As long as you foolw notes and study guides turn in all the textbook assignments it is a guaranteed A!!

He is very demanding. Got to go to class, show up on time, bring your lectures, type up the answers to the questions and he makes you study for tests. Too much work. Should just give credit for taking the class.

Dude, this guay is cool. No essay tests, no research paper, but he challenges you and makes you think. Gives you all lectures notes to study and a review and he is fair. Tricky questions, but they are fun. If you want to learn and get a good grade, take Mr. Godwin

Just took his class in summer I. Good teacher, tough but fair tests. I came home from Texas Tech to take this class and can't recommend him higher. No research paper, some reading and questions from text, gave lectures. Its all good. Got my B and transfering it back to Tech this fall. Definitely take Mr. Godwin.

His class is fun. I finished taking in summer and I took his 1301 class in spring. We had great discussions in class and its the first one I liked going to and I didn't miss a class. I don't really like history and studying was hard, but it was doable with Prof G. I am going to miss him. Wish he taught other courses. If you don't like him, you dumb

Just finished summer with Prof G and he is cool. No research paper!!! Gives you the notes, just go to class and listen. Read just a few pages in book, answer questions, that's all. Easy review. Easy class. If you can't pass his class, you should not be college student. Great guy, knows his stuff and I actually like history now!!!

Mr. Godwin, Is 1 of my favorite teachers I really enjoyed his History class...He makes history very interesting and worth going to class! Participate in class discussion, bring your notes 2 class, attendance is mandatory and do your book questions I guarantee you will pass his class with a A or B. I thought his tests were hard. He talked a lot, too many stories, all about history and stuff. He gave us the lecture notes printed out, but I don't want that. I want to take notes,that is how I learn. And he didn't give us a research paper. What teacher don't do that? No essay questions, but very hard to understand. Others like him, not me.

He is very straight forward on what he wants you do to. The exams are straight from the notes and the review is very helpful. There is NO ESSAY!! He gives you questions out of the text book that are simple. It helps if you go to class everyday, he will give you extra points at the end of the year. Take his class I promise that you wont regret it!

EXCELLENT TEACHER! I will be taking him next semester as well. Text book questions are a little time consuming, exams are straight from the notes. T/F test with multiple choice questions (about 80 or so) STUDY and you'll do great!

Great teacher. Unfortunately, this class is pretty difficult, since I don't actually need it for my degree. In the fall you will use a new book. Printable lecture notes. Attendance not mandatory but highly reccomended.

Easy class man. Get extra points for taking notes, meeting with counselor and going to tutoring. Surveys and quizzes boost your grade too. Gives you all lecture notes and reviews that are question for question on test man. Got to go to class and study tho. Some reading in book, but not that hard. Great teacher man, greatt

Hate history, love this guy... Taking him for 1301 and took him for 1302. Hes one of those rare professors that knows his history. No text book needed, but attendance required or you wont pass. Funny dude to say the least. If you want to pass college history, take Godwin hands down. Do the reviews he gives a week in advance and you cant fail.. :)

Easy course, Professor Godwin gives you these review sheets with questions. Just answer the questions and you will get an A is his class. You will not be bored because he makes learning fun.

I took J.Godwin for both core history courses and he is by FAR one of the BEST teachers at NCTC! I just loved this guy. He is funny, lively, and very passionate about the subject. Anyone who says he is "too hard" just didn't study and/or go to class. if you just do what he wants, you are GOOD TO GO b/c he gives you all you need to study.

Even though i almost never went to his class, his class was relatively easy. He posts all his notes online, and the review he gives you is almost identical to the tests. As long as you do the reviews and studied enough to know all the answers on the review, you'd make an A.

Mr. Godwin is a great teacher. He is very passionate about what he teaches and he tries his best to make it interesting. I have taken both history 1 and 2 both taught by him. Not very much homework and the class is very easy, just do what he says.

Love professor Godwin!! His tests are straight from the lecture notes so be sure to come to class. He also gives out a helpful test review! Participation is a must! I've taken both History 1301 and 1302 with him, and plan to take his Texas History class.

He loves to talk, but he paints a clear history picture for you & provides a great review, do the review it is pretty much the test, not alot of homework and really made history interesting I learned a lot. He uses power points and follows them well his expectations are clear and attendance is mandatory. Overall one of my favs.

Coundl't have asked for a better history insturctor. He explains very well, and will answer any questions you have. He was really organized. Well worth your money and time.

He is willing to work with students who show interest, try, and are honest. I missed an exam because I overslept and immediately went to go see him and he told me I could make it up that day. (Once again I was honest about it and actually tried). He goes on tangents a lot but it helped on exams. If you pay attention in class you will pass.

He is really passionate and he gives lecture notes so if you aren't the type to write a lot of notes then you'll be fine. He gives a review for the exams and if you do the review then you will pass the test because the review and the exam is basically the same.

This class is graded on tests mostly, i loved this class more than any i have taken in the past few years i would highly recommend this professor. With that being said his tests are very hard but he gives a review that is word for word on what the test will be. he will word questions very harshly but study and you will make an A.

Great professor. Notes for all lectures online. They are kept simple and include major things of importance. With that, you don't have to get a cramp writing thousands of notes down in class. Homework is very very simple. Gets passionate, and funny at times. Fun to talk about football with on Mondays. Study review pass test. almost same as review

Going to class is a big thing. if you do the homework and reviews you will be fine.

His lectures are really long. The reviews are 80 questions and exactly what will be on the exams. You get the answers to the reviews from the lecture notes that are online. As long as you study the reviews, you'll do fine on the exams. He has a different personality so you may not get a long with him but it's an easy class if you put in work.

The teacher is just amazing. His lectures are very energetic and you don't have to take notes. He has them already written so all you have to do is print them out and go to class with them. There is one assignment due weekly that is at most about 10 questions about a map that was in the book.

Wonderful Professor. Cares about you and your grade. Lectures all class but gives you the notes to print beforehand. Easy to follow and makes it interesting. Worth showing up for. Excellent review system. Funny and attentive, always available to discuss and guide students. All around great guy. I loved his class and will take again.

Professor Godwin is very nice, and he fills with patience to help the students. This semester I did not do well on the exam 1. With the help of him, I made rapid progress on the rest of the exams. His class is always lively, interesting and clear. I would strongly recommend Professor Godwin.

Awesome professor. He is my instructor of both History1301 & History 1302. His class is very interesting and easy to understand due to his teaching method. His teaching method is tell history stories with the pictures/maps on slides, very enjoyable and educational. He gives extra credit so the students can raise their grade. I like his class.

Id take this guy again. He was a good teacher and understanding. I enjoyed his history lectures. He's interactive and keeps you paying attention.

Very entertaining and likable. Only complaint was that I didn't agree with his methods when it came to grading papers but other than he is a fantastic professor. Defiantly worth taking.

Professor Godwin's lectures are interesting and funny, he is always telling you random facts. He gives you the review with enough time to study and do well on the exam. He sets the class up in a simple way, and if you manage to fail it is your own fault. There is no way that you will finish the semester without learning something.

He is a fantastic professor for History 1301. He is clear and upfront about his expectations of his students. His exams are based on the lecture notes and he tells you EXACTLY what will be on the exams. There is no reason for any student to fail this class unless you decide to not show up every class.

I took his class during the summer, so I'm not sure how fall or spring classes are for him. I can say that you do get a lot of information from him, but he tries to make it interesting for the students.

I loved this teacher so much! First day of class he lets you know what he expects so that you can be successful and sticks by it for the rest of the semester. Homework is actually fun since it's mainly answering questions about maps and the test which do require a lot of studying are easy as long as you give it your all.

I was not expecting to enjoy History 1865-preent, however I was quite surprised by Prof. Godwin. The class notes he provided in the 5-week course I took were spot on, and proved to be nearly all one needed to study in order to pass the tests. The lectures were interesting, class participation was encouraged.

Prof. Godwin was an exceptional HIST-1302 professor. His lectures were beyond engaging; considering myself not being deft in history as a whole, Prof. Godwin made it very much so enjoyable for me as a student. The tests are fairly difficult; although, he gives a very thorough review to prepare you for each test. The homework is simple as well.

He is very clear in what he wants. He gives you an outline of the notes to print out and stays on track very well. He lets you know when something is EXTRA important (test question). He is very knowledgable in the subject and if he doesn't know he will do his best to figure it out for you. The stories told help you to remember things for tests.

He was an amazing teacher and he kept his lectures very entertaining. Usually would answer your emails quickly if you had a question. I only had homework once a week and it took me 30 minutes max. You didn't have to do reading, and his reviews were very very helpful for the test.

Prof. Godwin's History class was great! I hope to get him for my next one!! Clear instructions and deadlines. Very outlined and direct material. He required group posts and participation, but made the requirements very clear. I really appreciated the great outlines considering it was an online course.

This class was an easy A, but still taught me the criteria. The one and only complaint I have, is there are many misspellings on notes, PowerPoints, quizzes, etc.

Professor Godwin's course (as well as previous Hist 1301 course) was enjoyable to take. He was clear on his course objectives/ grading policy. He provided appropriate helpful feedback, and replied timely to my correspondances to him. The course lecture notes contained pertinent information for the assignments and exams. I highly recommend him.

I took Professor Godwin for Hist 1301 and 1302 both online and as long as you do the work its an easy A. He is clear on what to do for assignments, gives enough time to do work, grades quickly, and responds to emails quickly. I would 100% recommend him and would take him again.

Professor Godwin really knows what he is talking about. If you can memorize things word for word just to take a test, you will do fabulous in his class.

i took his 3 hour in-person class last semester and i absolutely loved it. hes so understanding; sometimes i had to leave class early to go to work & he wouldn't take any points off of my attendance grade. hes very pastionante abt history so it makes his lectures interesting-- he doesn't believe in busy work so everything he assigns is for a reason

Professor Godwin makes this course as simple as possible. I took him for an 8-week course, and it was one of the easiest classes. Make sure to read the syllabus as everything he requires for assignments is there. The best part is that he keeps you updated when assignments are due.

Take inperson if possible. Attendance is graded but f2f means zero DBs so take your pick. 4 units total: 2 quizzes, 1 exam (with review) per unit. All timed, all open note. He gives you a PDF of the lecture notes so save that. CTRL+F is your best friend. Whether you are dreading history or passionate about it, I can't reccomend him enough!

Learning about history in this class has been an absolute pleasure, especially with such an engaging and fun professor! I've really enjoyed our conversations, and his lectures are incredibly well-organized and easy to follow. I also appreciate the personal touch he brings to them—it makes the material so much more relatable.

Just pay attention in class, use the notes he gives you, and study, you will get an A not problem. Also, do your historical case study, its the only hard thing you'll need to do and he gives you the research so you really don't have to do anything. Best teacher at NCTC

Makes expectations clear from the beginning. Provides all the material you need to succeed, so take advantage of it. There is no reason to NOT get an A. He's the GOAT.
