He is very good, he teaches with a lot of clarity. He is very understanding to your needs. I would recomend him to anyone.

I think he is a good professor. The class is not easy, but if you show interest and do the work you can get a good grade. He knows his stuff and he wants his students to appreciate literature.

Great teacher. If you listen to him and read the material you get an A. Reviews your work before its due so you can correct your work before he grades it.

Not an easy class, but thats a good thing, makes you think. He is not a bad teacher, or the spawn of the devil, or whatever else other students say. Study the material, give a damn about the class, and you will pass. He gives you help in any way possible, so if you fail, its no ones fault but your own.

Exactly, don't take this class if you are LAZY. You have to work for your grade. I've had this teacher two semesters now and he is very helpful, very smart, and offers to meet/help with you if you may need it. My words exactly.......Study the material, give a damn about the class, and you will pass.

I guarantee youre first impression of professor calle will change by the end of the semester. He's a very nice man, a little nervous when he talks, but easy-going teacher. The work is mediocre, do it, and you'll get a good grade.

For the first two weeks in this class I struggled, but with the help of this Prof. I finished with a "B". If you are a lazy person don't take this class, if you are a hard worker and just do what he asks for I quite sure you wil end up with an "A" or "B". Very knowledgable Profesor.

Professor Calle was not an easy professor, however he was not impossible as some of these other ratings state. He was FAIR. Your grade was EARNED. If you do what you are supposed to do you will succeed in his class. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He is funny, a little nervous at times but great professor.

I can't believe all these people writing all this **** about prof Calle. Ok first of all he's extremely passionate about what he teaches- Literature/English- so you will learn plenty from him. Second of all he's the easiest A you'll ever find, many people didn't even do the work he assigned and still came away with A's.

I am amazed at the poor quality rating. I took him in the Summer of 2007 after not being in school many years and got a "B". I really enjoyed the class and not too much effort. I would recommend his class!

Professor Calle is a good man. He is kind and respectful as long as you are. He is not an easy teacher, but like others said, give a damn and work for your grade. You will get what you deserve. I have taken the past 2 ENC 1101, 1102(H). I HIGHLY recommend him to any person that is motivated.

mr.calle is great yea he gets off topic but who cares he likes you to write alot but den he grades you nd lets you redo it 4 a better grade!ders no tests i took him for 2 semseters hes funny cuh he stutterd nd makes werid jokes take him hes super easssyyy!!

As soon as you get past his impediment, Mr Calle is a great teacher, full of information. There is alot of writing to be done but that is what college is all about. Don't expect assignments back on time though.

Professor Calle was a very fair and capable teacher.He is a soft spoken man,but so what.He gives just a few assignments & if you have a brain in your head you can ace this class.He's totally outside the box.Definitely take him.Some people want to get A's w/o work that just isn't what college is about.Anyone who disliked his class is just a slacker

Prof. Calle does not seem to be a good professor at first glance, but when you attend the class and understand what he is teaching, you will understand how great he is.if you want an easy A w/o working, don t take him, but if you want to learn hw 2 write proper English and b competitive, take him.only 4000 words are required, it could 1 0r 2 paper

Anyone who gave him poor ratings are probably slackers.English requires a lot of writing and reading Duh!! If u think you should get good grades for just 4 showing up, may b higher education isn't 4 u becuz this was one of the easier classes @ BCC

HES AN AMAZING TEACHER! he might get off topic sometimes but hes extremely easy going and will let you turn in your work when ever you want. you don't even have to show up to his class, just have a friend to tell you what you missed so you could make it up. if you fail this class its because u never turned any thing in.

He's an awesom teacher and very easy. Though yes as other says he's very unorginaized & seems to have favorites but still you really can't screw up in this class u turn everything in on the internet and can turn it in the day of at BCC Library. He's not very clear on things as he explains them but if u ask him to explain it to u more he's much clea

He's the easiest teacher I've ever had in school. Yes as others say he's very disorginaized and easily distracted but he's an awesome teacher. One fault he has though is he's not very clear at times because he get's distracted easily but still if you ask him to explain more in depth to you he will.& warning he finds typing while talking distracting

I LOVED this class! Not your everyday boring book. Remix is a great book to keep you interested. Calle is very reasonable and helpful teacher. Taking his class for enc1102!

Took him two classes online amazing teacher just try your best on the esays and he'll grade you well. I think it's like 4 essays and Participation in the discussions tests and quizes are Extremely easy almost a joke received 98 in both classes....love Him takes a while to grade but he gives greats corrections and feedback

His class can be a lil boring. He's not always clear n what he wants, but he will verify it at a later date. He grades pretty fairly. Try your best and you'll get a good grade. I would take him again. He's a lil flaky tho. All in all, he's a nice teacher. You will learn how to write a paper. You need the text book. and he counts attendance.

I took this guy for ENC1101 as well, but I'll focus on my latest class: Sci-Fi and Fantasy Literature. First of all, he is an extremely, perhaps exceedingly, polite person who I'm sure has worked with many a-absent, and a-failing students on "fixing their grade; of which recourse I was fortunate to avoid. (I just realized that I'm out of space)

I had never taken an online class prior to Professor Calle's class. I am SHOCKED to see that he has such a low rating! Based on his communications via email, he has a GREAT sense of humor, is encouraging and is very quick to respond should you have a question. I wish all of my Professors were more like him.

I honestly think he was a great professor. Extremely helpful and makes himself available to anyone needing assistance. Once you take the work seriously, and do the assignments as required, you should do well.

He is a great teacher, if you think his classes are hard then your clearly not putting in the effort. This is the second class I've had with this Professor and it's the only class where I know if I have a problem he's not going to fail me, he would try to help out to the best of his ability.

Great teacher. He 's not one of the best but u will definitely get an A if you do your assignments. He also accepts late assignment. Sometimes, he takes him several months to grade an assignment. Take him and you'll get an A!

I would not recommend simply because he takes forever to grade papers and so you do not know your grade for months! I took him as an online class and there's generally no feedback from him. Other than that, the assignments are laid out for you from day one, many of them include peer review. His grading is also pretty harsh.

I agree that he takes FOREVER to grade assignments but as far as everything else goes he was a great teacher. very clear on the assignments, very lenient and let us turn in assignments late. gave us useful feedback and was very passionate when teaching. gives a lot of essays but they are simple.

His class was very easy. Honestly if you are giving him bad reviews, you more than likely did not attend his lectures regularly. He tells you EXACTLY what he expects and wants. Easy "A"... pay attention and show up to class...

His class is very easy i'm an A+ student in his class he explains things clearly and and helps you whenever you need it. Make sure you attend the class earlier then the time it starts he likes that. The essays also easy not tough at all. You'll like him and you should take his class you'll be a straight A student just like me. Plus he's a nice guy.

Contrary to all the negative comments, Professor Calle's class was the right balance. He's a very helpful teacher who will spend one on one time with you going over your papers and pointing out your errors. He gives countless opportunities to make up failed assignment. Not recommendable but not someone to absolutely avoid. You work for your grade.

While Prof Calle is sometimes every where when teaching, he is funny, very helpful and nice. He will give you great pointers & is very patient w students. Some classmates got confused & I would see him take time after to explain things to them in detail. I got an A- pay attention and do your work to pass! He is passionate about his work & it shows.

Ignore every other comment here. Professor Calle is a GREAT!. He will help you become a better writer. He is VERY helpful and will take time to assist you outside of class. He will not fail your paper. He corrects it and allows you to re-do. No professor does that! No test, no HW, just papers. Took him twice! This is a College, not Middle School!

For ENC 1101, Professor Calle is your man. I took him online for 1101, he is very clear and upfront about what he expects. He is very understanding if you need an extension on an assignment. The class is an easy A, I earned a C because I slacked off a little too much. You will have a breeze with Professor Calle. He gives great feedback.

Professor Calle was one of the best online professors I've had so far. He made himself accessible for questions pertaining to the class. We had two mandatory essays. Although I am not a writer, I truly enjoyed this class and writing the essays because the options provided were interesting. Highly recommended!

took Professor Calle's class online and passed with an A. Lots of reading & understanding poems. He really cares about his students and will do everything he possibly can in order for you to pass. He gives great feedback. There is a research paper involved which will count as Exam. No test just discussions and assignments based on poems. Easy A.

I was so skeptical about taking Prof. Calle's class because of the ratings on here, but he was honestly a 10/10 teacher. We had 6 or 8 short stories w/ one discussion each and 6 or 8 poems w/ one discussion each. Some extra assignments here and there plus 3 papers. No mid term, no final. Lots of assignments but super easy! Love Prof. Calle's class!

Great teacher just be sure to stay on top of deadlines in order to submit the next assignment. Doesn't grade too heavy or give clear and adequate feedback on essays . Is understanding if you reach out to him about any specific questions

I took him online. He responded to my questions quickly towards the beginning. The essays and topics were easy and so was the research assignment. Takes a bit to grade but does offer solid feedback and wants you to do well in his class

Took him online his grading is very easy and the stories that we read were quite interesting.

For it being my first online class, Calle made it a pleasant experience. He has a great way of explaining and critiquing, just be attentive with assignments and due dates. Ask for help the moment you need it and he will be forgiving.

Professor Calle was awesome! He's gives great feedback and the classwork is super straightforward, do the work and you'll be fine. A lot of other professors expect you to know it all and be a professional writer. He was extremely helpful.
