He is a really good professor, the class itself is hard but if you follow his notes and powerpoint , and if u go to the lab everytime u'll be fine, He explains really good and helps u out a lot. I guess he is also good in the class. If u really want to learn take it with him.

This prof provides a thorough coverage of the main tenets of bio with univ. level pace and self-study expectations. If you need bio for a standardized test you would do well to take his course and dedicate some serious time to the material. I had him for the 2011L and I found him very nice and helpful. The only problem I had was that it was a short term and he seemed a little unsure of what material to give us to study. The tests covered a lot of material and it might be different in a longer term.He gives extra credit to help and looks out for you if your having problems.

He is one of the few professors who has great personality while teaching. No one said Biology was easy, so you need to study for his test. Microbiology lab is the hardest science class. Read the book and the lab manual. Be on time. Expect to work on your unknown every day in your own time as well as in class and study as much as you can. If you put effort into the class he will help you. If you work hard you will get rewarded. While the grade in the class is solely based off of test grades and a research project, Morata offers students ways to improve their grades through tutoring and service learning. The reason for my grade was because I didn't read and study as much as I should have for each test. As long as you actually read from the textbook and you will do well.

He is one of the few mdc prof. that will actually prepare you for a real university. He is always willing to help you as long as you put effort. If you want an A you have to work for it, but if you are looking for a B or a C it is an easy grade to achieve because of the project and the extra credit he offers.

Only things you submit are 13 quizzes 10 question each. 5 exams, 30 questions each. Easy A's on everything. 3 units on Midterm 2 units on final, each 25%those are way harder. Not the same questions from anything prior. Failed both but still passed the class. Unit 1-3 due day before midterm, 4-5 due day before final, so you go at your own pace.

On the online class you dont hear from him much, so stay on top of due dates. Even tho things arent due all the time just submit early so he knows your active. He might come off harsh but he is super willing to work with you and wants you to succeed. Easy A, the midterm and final arent the same questions from anything before SO STUDY EVERYTHING.

I had Dr. Morata for BSC2010, my biology background was very weak and at that time I was preparing for Med school. I know this class is not easy because I took it, but for those that think about going to medical school, his class is very well organized. Med school will add a tone of extra information to that. You can get an A if you spend time.

I have taken him for both laboratory and lecture through the asynchronous/online platform. I found that he was very flexible and understanding of our situation, but was strict in ensuring that we put in our best efforts during class and outside of class to do great on his exams and homework. This is not an easy class, but he cares to help!

If you get easily offended just don't take his class, he says stuff but it's not out of ill intent and that's what some people don't understand. Took BSC1005 with Dr. Morata online. Weekly homework assignment/quiz, probably 30 minutes total for both. Course was easy and deadlines were clear on the syllabus. Proctored midterm was kinda tough. Only take this course online if you want an easy A, not if you're trying to actually learn Biology.

Experienced. If you need to do research, he is the guy. Always willing to help and funny. Many assignments, but that's the way Bio works. We asked him to slow down with the assignments, and he did. Fun class, he changes the dynamic from time to time. Some experiments will be during class and others at home. He made us create a video and a poster, it seamed hard at first but I liked the process of making those. The idea is for you to learn not to struggle for a grade. Also take him for lecture so you are not behind with contents.

This is one of the easiest classes to pass if you participate, he gives 2 points on tests or discussions per participation in class(I got a 70 on a test up to a 102). Professor Morata really pushes you to prepare for class and it helped me learn a lot. The tests are not easy but with all the extra credit given its hard to not get an A.

The people giving bad reviews don't know the material. The questions asked in class are basic and easy to answer. Professor Morata ultimate goal is for you to learn. If you are active and learning there is no reason you should get lower than an A.

I learned a lot and was able to participate in his Biofuel research! I am very grateful for the opportunities he provides. He is really looking out for his students success. He gives tough love but it really pushes you to do well.

The class in general is really interactive, you need to read the content beforehand, your participation count towards your grade. The professor is really serious about the work, if you do your work, you should be fine. If you show that you care, he'll help you when you need it. Also, he is the leader for a biofuel research team.

Professor Morata has an exceptional sense of humor, conducts his lectures in a professional way, and is always helping out his students. If you study you will be able to pass his class, and learn in the simplest way complex terms.

I will say he does give a lot of assignments but honestly, they're very simple and do help in his tests. This professor is extremely caring and will keep you updated on your progress throughout the course. He also gives points for the tests if you participate in the lecture. You can tell he wants the best for his students.

All of his labs are from a text book and the lab reports are just answering the questions in the book. He makes the labs pretty fun and wants them to be just as fast as you do. I highly recommend if you need the credit.

Professor Morata's class is enjoyable and the lots of participation allows you to understand the topics beyond the book and participating gives you points towards your final grade. He is super willing to help if you don't understand a topic and will give you his time out of the day to do so. Extremely understandable and flexible.

Prof. Morata's Lab is manageable, the lab reports are questions from a book which are easier in my opinion. Things are not overly complicated and very chill, he gives you time to work on your assignments during class so you don't get overwhelmed. There is a group project at the end but it is a very fun project to do. He is always willing to help!!!

Some info is hard to understand, but he is more than willing to answer any questions you ask. He's also the guy to talk to if you are interested in research.

I thought he was an incredible teacher! very kind and explains everything very well. If you participate he gives you points and that really helps a lot. You must read the chapter before class and take notes to be able to resolve doubts in class. He does a lot of activities which is good to raise the average. I would select class again with he!!!

Provides powerpoints so make sure you go through it and pay attention in class because he randomly calls on people and asks questions. Gives feedback, answers emails, and is pretty organized when it comes to homework/tests. At first, seems a bit intimidating, but get on his good side and you're set! Would take him again for sure.

Dr. Morata is an excellent professor—understanding and quick to respond. As an online student, I've contacted him multiple times. He always replies within hours or calls back. When I thought about retaking the class after a poor midterm, he encouraged me to continue and helped me focus as the midterm only counted for 15 points of my total grade.

Dr. Morata is not an easy professor to please by any measure of the imagination. He holds his students to a higher standard than most. However, I feel this made his class all the more effective. He's very knowledgeable, shows a deep level of care for his students, and works to make sure every student has a fair shot at passing his class.

Great professor! Hands-on labs, assignments are mostly lab reports or Connect work, and only two in-class exams. He offers extra credit, is very helpful, and is not a tough grader. Just make sure you show up to class. Highly recommend!

Dr. Morata is the best professor so far! He's really funny, not a strict grader at all, and gives out lots of credit. Very easy class if you show up and do your assignments. Honestly, if I could, I would take the class with him again!
