I took 2 years of high school literature. It was my most dreaded class. I had a terrible time understanding what was taught, or maybe it was the lack of teaching that limited my understanding. To say the least,coming out of highschool,College literature was not something I was looking forward to at all.. It is now my favorite thanks to Mr. Rodrigue

Before taking his class I absolutely dreaded taking a lit class. He totally changed my mind. I compleetely enjoyed the readings and lectures.

Professor Rodriguez was a great teacher and very clear. He won't throw you any surprises and you can tell he is passionate and wants students to do well.

Easiest professor i have ever had. Interesting lectures and discussions, and very clearly states everything that is expected from us. Very easy grader. I almost got 100% in his class. Definitely recommended.

I love this teacher hes a very nice man very into his work also his class book is the cheapest which he will tell you its like $20 new like $10 used he also gives you you space and the way he sets up assignments its steps to it so itts impossible for you to get behind unless you just dont try he is wonderful ima take him all my semesters

He was a wonderful teacher! He likes to talk a lot, but he is very willing to answer questions. There was no hw other than to read, but he always went over everything.

Well organized, passionate about the class. Clarifies last nights homework meaning he goes over the material quizzes and exams are basde on what he notes in class, BUT MAKE SURE YOU READ !! very IMPORTANT or else you will be LOST

Nice guy, funny and friendly. He is crystal clear in his lectures and what he wants done. Not a demanding teacher, however, on essays you will not be guaranteed an A. I took him for 101 and 105.

Pretty easy class. Never any homework & if there was it was super easy. He talks A LOT but was let out early every friday =]

This professor is the best for real! He is the nicest guy I ever met and we always have fun in his class :D and he never yells and he loves to make jokes. Best ever ENG 101, Fresh 2nd semester :D FTW

He is a very nice professor. He is very clear on what he wants as far as assignments go. We only wrote 5 papers the whole semester. He let us go early most of the time and we never had homework besides our papers. He knows what he was talking about. I got a B in the course. If you complete everything on time, you will receive good grades.

If your looking for a teacher that literally will spell out what your doing and to keep repeating it thought out the semester, This this is your guy. Very easy class! i would strongly reccomend takeing it! if i have the power to sign you up for this class i would do it!!! YEA ITS THAT EASY!

Seems like a really nice guy. Is very clear and positive. He cancels class a lot which was great at first, then after the 5th time, I kind of felt like I was really missing out. He had said that he was having serious family troubles, so it was justified. I feel that I've gained from this class.

Really nice guy! Very willing to help you and your group if you need it. I got an A+ for the class, and I really didn't work for it. Fun and easy. Gives a lot of time to finish essays, like, a lot of time. I would recommend this class, though I don't think it'll be offered next semester.

Very easy class. Alot of group activities, which was ok. You had to read other papers and write comments. We had a lot of essays and projects, but they were simple to complete. The readings were dull, but most English books are. He's a nice guy, made it clear on what he wanted from you. Did tend to repeat himself a lot, which was annoying.

Really super smooth class. Cancels class, but it does not put you behind. Lots of group work, but it easy simple work, nothing to be worried about. The required 101 speech for ENG101 for him is not graded and only has to be 2-5 minutes long. Repeats himself, but that helps if you don't always pay attention. Recommended!

Took enlgish 101 first semester at MCC walked out with a C- took it with professor Rodriguez walked out with an "A" what a diffrence a good teacher makes. Highly recommend do your work and show up and it will the easiest "A" you will ever get in an english class.

Follow the instructions, complete the assignments, participate in group workshop you will PASS WITH AN A! PERIOD. Cancels class a lot (IMO for the best, it ain't rocket science) Word on campus is that there are 99 pretty tough graders for ENG-101, Rodriguez aint one.....

Easiest A I've ever gotten. I finished this class with minimal effort and received a perfect 100%. Take his class if you want an easy A, don't take it if you really need to learn the basics of college English.

EASIEST A I HAVE EVER GOTTEN! Everyone, show up to class on time, put in minimum effort in assignments, and you will get an A. Even if you are the worst student in the world, you will get an A my friend. We had NO tests, No pop-quizes, it was so easy that i would take again. His instructions are also REALLY clear, he says the same thing 100 times

I could pass this class with my eyes closed. It was so easy that i thought literally it was a joke. Even if you go to another school, come to MCC, and take ENG101 with this guy, you will not regret it.

This guy says the same thing 1,000 times in a minute, really really clear. This class was SO easy, i wish i could take it again. It was so easy that it should not even be considered a class, ALMOST NO READING, NO TESTS, NO QUIZZES, oh and he cancels class almost every week. You just cant go wrong, and if you're on his good side he will love you.

Great teacher all around. If you show up, you're golden. Great teacher, a little long winded sometimes, but definitely better than the alternative. Lets class out early fairly often so there's no busywork. Almost entirely group work. All in all, a great professor.

My favorite professor this semester and the reason I signed up for Eng 105 next semester instead of a different humanities elective. What he expects out of you is average. Show up to class and complete your work on time. He explains things very well and he never belittles if questions arise. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great professor! All his assignments are lectures were clear and precise. Doesn't do very strict grading, which is a good thing since it makes you confident about your English and makes the whole writing process very enjoyable.

Awesome professor. Gives really nice feedback on all my grades. Be aware that your grade is based off 3 short response exams and a final paper but you get almost more than adequate get time to do it, he allows for class discussion and gives really good feedback on your responses. Gives you everything you need: lectures, readings, etc. Awesome!!

Took English 101 online with professor Rodriquez. His class is based on a handful of writing assignments that he provides fully detailed examples for. As long as you follow the format you will receive a good grade. He is a great professor who answers in a timely manner, and is a fair grader. I would definitely recommend him!

Professor Rodriguez is absolutely phenomenal! He is extremely clear on what he wants. He provides examples for you to look at. You will need the book. Do not be late. If you do what is asked and are not late, he will reason with you if something happens to come up. Very lenient grader & gives you the confidence if you're lacking. EASY A!

Took during COVID-19 lockdown, was very caring about taking time to make sure you and your family are doing well or if you were working. Very flexible due dates, just a lot of text on some readings. Very few assignments which are really straight forward and easy to do good on if you read the text and involve yourself in the discussion posts.

Professor Rodriguez is one of my favorites. There are about 6 papers and 1 research paper. Directions are clear and to the point. No discussion boards or unnecessary assignments. I loved this class! I would retake it easily.

Amazing teacher, incredibly patient with his students and very reasonable and well spoken with his lectures. 100% will be taking a class with him again

Best English Professor I've Had I had Nelson before professor Rodriguez and I must say it is night and day. He gives clear assignments on what needs to be done and how to do them which is amazingly helpful, for instance if you have an essay due he will give you an example and the prompt on how it should look like and max 5 assignments.

Rodriguez is great! I took his online class and there were only seven assignments for the entire semester, plus a few quick discussion posts. I got a 100% on almost every assignment and he gives you a very generous time period in which to complete your work.

Great course to do online, I spent an hour every week to do the work and then one day every month to speed write each of the four essays he assigns throughout the semester. Ended with a great grade :)

Such an easy class and barely have it, he grades pretty easily if you show effort and ask for help/participate in class, nice guy and lecture can be eh sometimes but having this as a hybrid class was very easy.

Professor Rodriguez is a MFER but he's a fair MFER. Read the lectures, follow his writing formats and you'll be ok. He doesn't accept late work but he does give ample time to submit work. The stories, lectures, and plays were great reads and he does respond to his emails promptly. But overall, great professor who communicates and grades fairly.

If you've learned how to write essays in high school then Professor Rodriguez's class is the way to go to achieve the prerequisite. His lectures are short and you'll hardly meet in person as all the coursework is done online. There are few assignments, he is a fair grader that allows for early submissions to revise, and he is accessible for help.

He is a great professor, however you will work in this class. you have to make sure you follow his writing requirements, and you will do well.

He's such a straightforward professor — everything is clear, and all the deadlines are well organized with plenty of time between each essay. He's a fair grader and will never take a single point off if you truly deserve it. I highly recommend his online ENG 101 class!
