Professor Leggett was great! I dreaded taking History, but she made it interesting. She's very down to earth, and you can approach her about anything. You don't read in class, but have reading assignments at home- and write a 5 page paper on a topic of your choice. She won't give you a grade you didn't earn, but you can pass if you try.
She is very helpful and will make history very fun. You will come out of this class knowing more than you imagined. Plus she is very easy on the eyes. Shes not a blowoff, but you will need to do your work. Also taking her right now for 1302 rrc
Her class is awesome. She makes activities and all her assignments FUN. She's young so she gets that we dont have time to sit around and read and cram. She's very down to earth and will even facebook friend you if she feels like it. I'm taking her again in the fall. 10 of 10 on the awesome scale. also, GROUP finals if she likes the class.
The class was hard but fun and she's really cool and laid back. All her test questions are from the book so you have to read. She makes class fun to come to but her tests are very hard so its not a blow off class.
Great teacher! Helps out a lot! Very down to earth, understanding and respectful. I highly recommend her! Just make sure you study for tests and take notes!
BEST History professor ever!!!!!!! you will learn more than you can imagine even if you hate history. She is a wonderful professor!!!!! Very high quality professor
Great teacher! Full of life, has a crazy side, and very elaborative with her teaching methods. Her powerpoints are exciting and meaningful.
Ms. Legget is an awesome teacher and involves the class with many discussions that are both on topic and off topic. She knows how to flex the dates to make she we are getting the information and makes the class entertaining as well. She's a great teacher and I HIGHLY recommend her. Make sure you sign up early for this class before it's filled.
Highly recommend.
I don't think I have ever learned so much in one class before. Explains in detail but not till it bores you. Just take notes, listen in class, and show up! A++
Great class! Disappointed she isn't teaching the 2nd semester of world history.
I literally recommend her to all my friends! I love her layback, yet engaging teaching style; would actually make me want to participate in class discussion (coming from someone shy), plus she is sweet & patient enough to work with you on assignments (which are really simple/straightforward). Didn't feel textbook was necessary though; take notes!!
Best history class ever! There are No tests at all just quizzes which are super easy and some are extra credit (which she gives a lot of.) Everything we did in class was group work and the final was a piece of cake! Lectures were always interesting. Great teacher and class!
I loved her class! I really liked the group discussions we often had. She is super nice. We had weekly textbook reads and quizzes. Nothing was too terribly difficult in her class. I plan on taking her 1302 class as well.
She's one of the best teachers I've ever had. 100% she requires individual and group participation. Forcing me to participate made the lectures easier to remember when the pop-up quizzes happened. She's really funny if you give her a chance. You will want to show up for class as there are questions on the quizzes that are only gone over in class .
She was my absolute favorite teacher this semester. She was funny, she was interesting in her lectures. She was passionate. I highly recommend anyone interested i history to take her. She gave no homework, just weekly quizzes and midtermfinal. Make sure you go to class or you will be lost in the material unless you actually read the book.
A professor with great personality. Has passion for her job. Interesting lectures, makes history interesting. Class participation needed. Be prepared to read, it's a history class.
She loves her job. She is crazy but in a good way. Explains the content very well and uses the power points in a great way to help you pass the class. I wanted to take History 1302 with her but she will be heading to SAC full time. BUMMER. She did quizzes which were not hard at all. Take notes if she says it twice then it will be on the exams.
Had her at UTSA, her class was great. Very easy, and involved in class and talking with students. Participation is key for passing this class and getting a good grade. Exams were pretty easy even without the book.
Lovely professor, very kind and knowledgable. A bit awkward/shy, but it's endearing. Pay attention to her lectures and you won't need a textbook at all. Easy and enjoyable class.
This lady is awesome! Her presentation of the material was great. She was so knowledgeable about every subject and shared lots of cool details. Her class was interactive and very interesting. She is passionate about teaching and loves history. Show up to class, take notes, and study and you will do well.
I love her!! I took her at SAC and fell in love with History. Take her you will not regret it I promise she is never boring I always looked foreword to her class and loved being there. Participate, do all the work and read! She gives opportunities to pass that other prof wont like optional essays. Thanks Ms. Leggett for a great experience!
Professor Leggett was an amazing professor. She wanted the students to UNDERSTAND history, not just memorize it. Rarely ever had any type of homework, just a few quizzes that she tells you about in advance. Has 4 essay options, but you only have to write 2 of them, and she has many extra credit opportunities. Very easy class and taught me a lot.
Make sure to put the quiz days on your calendar because you will forget and she will not remind you. It was great having a teacher who was passionate about teaching history, which made it understandable. Assignments aren't hard and neither are the quiz's.
this class is one of the best class I've taken. it was online and I kept up with it and passed. She is a fair grader, not a hard grader though. she always gave excellent feedback on your work. I would definitely get her!
She is very sweet and awkward/shy but it makes her so much better. She's a very passionate teacher and loves to help you understand. I would give her 10/10. She makes sure she doesn't make anything unpassable.
Great teacher. Intelligent. Beautiful. Knows her material cold.
She is a great professor! She is passionate about the subject, and makes history very understandable. She provides a clear schedule for the readings and due dates. Expect a (easy) quiz once a week. There are a few extra credit opportunities. I will be taking her again for HIST 1302!
she's the very best history professor i'v ever take. I RECOMMEND HER TO ANY AND EVERYBODY !
I love this teacher. She makes the subject easy and fun. Group pop quizzes and goes over the test subject matter in detail prior to the day of the test... She is involved and gives awesome lectures
Very great teacher. You have to work for your grade, however she is amazing at doing what she does so it doesn't feel like much work. If you pay attention in class you will do fine.
Super nice lady, she knows what she's talking about. Try to participate in class because she grades you on it. There's only a midterm exam and a final exam they are super easy if you study the term she gives you in the beginning of the semester. Super happy I took her a great professor.
she's a great teacher, you can tell she knew what she was talking about. the lectures are interesting but boring at times. as long as you show up to class and do the work then you will pass.
Her class is simple- assignments are easy, tests are multiple choice, short quizzes off of short readings- just be sure to read and pay attention through the lectures. A lot of people think her demeanor is rude, but she isn't- she's just passive, so don't get her wrong. She's nice. She cares and wants her students to see the importance of history.
Professor Judah is awesome. I took her class last semester and will take another this fall. Class participation is a must. Pop quizzes will occur but sometimes, we can do them in groups. If you do the reading and take notes, YOU WILL PASS! I love her teaching style. She clearly loves teaching.
Professor Leggett is one of my favorite professors! She is always super excited about teaching, and cares a lot about her students. The course is reading heavy, and there are online quizzes every week but almost all of the questions are multiple choice. I would definitely take Leggett again, and intend to take her HIST 1302 class.
Professor Leggett is an amazing teacher, genuinely loves what she teaches. Her class is very easy, she drops the lowest exam grade and 2 of the lowest quiz grades. Lots of extra credit as well, definitely take her!
Amazing teacher. Hands down, would take her class again if I didnt transfer to a university. Had her 2 semesters because she was so awesome. Very understanding when it comes to work and passionate about her job. Best professor at lake view.
She has good material for hte class but her smile creeps me out, she will help you out at times but if you ask a question she will look at you like your "dumb" but she gives a lot of quizzes. usually in groups
She is a cool teacher. Only thing is she likes to lecture /talk more. Her slides we okay but do not provide much help when you wanna go back a refer to what was being taught. You basically just have to listen to what she says and read the book.
She's a hoot! Funny, makes learning interesting, and very interactive!
Show up 3-5 minutes before class to guaranty 100% attendance. Attendance may be taken a couple minutes before the actual start time and you will be counted tardy. Professor Leggett was passionate and well organized. I will be taking her Hist. 1302 course this Fall and look forward to furthering my knowledge on the history of the United States.
Overall awesome teacher, would definitely recommend.
Prof Leggett is great! The course itself is very reading intensive, be prepared to take notes over your readings prior to class. The setup of the course/hw is as follows: at home reading, view crash course history video, take notes over both, then discuss during class. Quizzes are easy if you watch the videos/take good notes. Do the work, easy A.
She is so wonderful and reminded me of why I love History! I will definitely take her for 1302. The class is pretty simple, just do the readings or watch Crash Course and you'll be fine. Tests aren't to hard either!
Judah Leggett was awesome at the start but she changed drastically. From apologizing for not reviewing that much, to not reviewing at all and changing everything last minute and expecting you to know it without even clarifying what's going on. she pushed the schedule back a day, decided to keep the exam on the same day and totally skipping a lesson
Her class is ok. However you really need to depend on yourself to read and review the material. Don't ever rely on what she says as she'll change everything last minute (e.g. test). She's moody sometimes. Overall okay teacher but I don't recommend her.
She's ok but I had better teachers who actually want you to succeed no matter how hard it is. She was great at first but then I feel like she lost her enthusiasm. If you want to waste your time and come to school everyday and not learn a thing then go ahead. Other than that take another teacher or take online because even online will explain better
Unreliable. That's all I can say
This class was great because it was organized and clear. For being an 8am class, Ms. Leggett was always prepared and excited about being there. She's also willing to help and meet outside of class to review. You will have to read and watch lecture videos before class and the quizzes are over the videos. If you don't, you won't do well.
HIST-1301-004 at NLC. She is a great teacher and goes over everything in detail. Everything that you learn in class, watch on crash course, and read in the online textbook will be on the exam. So no random questions. Just study and you'll make an A easily.
I really enjoyed taking this class. Ms. Leggett is extremely passionant about history and makes her lectures very interesting. Gives you all the info you need to be prepared for a test.
Mrs. Leggett was an amazing teacher and she made it easy to learn and retain the course. Only 1 paper was required and she is really good about getting the class involved. Would highly recommend!
Great instructor! She really respected her students, and you could tell she actually enjoyed what she was teaching. She was often quoted to be a "savage" by some of us students She was always super nice, but had a good sense of humor! There are crash course videos and questione before each class, and an occasional in-class quiz on that days video
Great Professor!! Would definitely take again. You won't regret taking her class
Awesome teacher. I took both U.S. history's with her, test are spot on with reviews and homework. Pay attention and contribute to her class discussions and you will get a A .
She is so talented to teach boring material and make it exciting. I cant skip one of her classes. I believe she love what she is doing and she remember that she was also a student so she is willing to help. I loved her class. Her crash videos made the class easy.
She's The bomb!!! As long as you do the readings and watch the videos posted on canvas you shouldn't have a problem. Don't be late to class and take good notes over the class discussions and an A- will be your grade at the very least. But don't slack do the readings and homework she will quiz you on those. She loves to run and loves her dog.
Professor Leggett is an excellent instructor. She makes learning fun, enjoyable, and interesting. Her combination of teaching techniques includes outstanding lectures, youtube videos, primary sources, and kahoot quizzes. The individual quizzes will require you to do your homework. Do yourself a favor, take her class. She rocks!
I enjoyed this class. I took her in the summer and it was great. I like her teaching style and she really makes learning about history fun. There were small quizzes almost everyday and 3 tests for the summer course. Not really any homework . But she gave us videos to watch and sources to read for the next day to discuss.
I definitely would recommend this professor. Just make sure you watch the weekly videos that she puts up (it's on her syllabus) because the quizzes in her class are based on the videos.
She assigns multiple quizzes and 4 essays throughout the semester, but as long as you go to class and actually take the time to study and do the video/questions that she assignments weekly then EASY CLASS. she always tries her best to work with everyone's schedule and her lectures are always so interesting.
Prof. Leggett is very passionate about history, she loves teaching it. That makes it easier to latch onto. She cares about her students, gives good feedback on papers. I only had to write 3 this semester. She does have "pop" quizzes, but will most always give a heads up about them.
really enjoyed her, she was a little awkward but overall a good teacher. she is good at communicating with you and her class isn't so hard, she makes history a little more interesting. also offered extra credit on our final, would really recommend her!
She's a great professor, you just need to do all the work before class, then she lectures over it. You have to read the assigned chapter sections, read a primary source, and watch a crash course video with some questions to keep in mind. She has about 3 essays, which she grades a bit hard, but if you're a solid writer it shouldn't be too bad.
wants class participation almost every class period and does do several in class lectures which she makes enthusiastically interesting. several quizzes and tests which as long as you show up to class and atleast half pay attention you should pass easily. little to no homework assignments or writing projects. probably one of the more caring at NLC.
I took her for history 1 and 2. She's very enthusiastic about history and you can tell she truly loves it! She gives great lectures, and she likes for you to participate in them. She gives 4 tests, or 3 papers and 1 test. She does a few pop quizzes, but they're easy if you've done the readings or watched the crash course video. Great professor!
I'm taking Prof. Leggett in the Maymester, which is a 3-week long semester, so it is fast-paced but about 5-7 short and easy assignments a week (either a quiz which is based primarily from Crash Course Youtube vids, an analysis of a document which ranges from 2 to 5 sentences long, or a discussion which is only a paragraph or 2 long). Grades easy!
I could go on and on about this class and the professor. The online maymester class is so well put together and easy to follow even though it is fast paced. Textbook was provided online. The discussion boards open conversations that need to happen. She pushes you to dig deeper into your answers and logic. I would absolutely take her again.
Professor Leggett is really easy going, relevant, and amazing teacher. I didnt think I cared about history but I actually learned A LOT in her class and felt comfortable to participate and ask questions when needed. (10/10) She was very kind and didnt give off a Im a professor so I can do & day whatever I want. (Ive had a few like that)
Every week you would have to read a chapter, complete a discussion or reflection essay, and a quiz due at the end of the week. The reflection essays were super easy and prof. Leggett was a reasonable grader. There is a lot of reading involved so be prepared for that.
Professor Leggett is amazing I have taken both her HIST - 1301 and 1302 classes. Her lectures are nice, weekly assignments are a breeze, papers arent bad, quizzes and exams are easy. She really cares about her students and quickly responds to e-mails, and is there if you need help. If you want a good grade for history she's your professor to go to.
I took this as a 3-week course. It was very well organized with readings and assignments clearly posted in the modules. She picked really good readings and made history interesting and challenging. This class isn't about memorizing dates, it's about what was actually going on during this period in history and how everyday American's responded.
EASY A. Took this course during the maymester. Easy short essays and discussions and she gives good feedback. Quizzes aren't bad as well you can retake them
I absolutely enjoyed professor Leggett's history 1302 course. Her Lectures are great! She is so sweet and starts off the class with music which sets the vibe. i would highly recommend 10/10!!!
I took this course completely online and it was great.I didn't communicate much with her but she seemed very kind. She explains that she is also a student and understands being overloaded so she likes to give an easy workload. There are only two short essays, some discussion posts, and the rest is chapter work. She does take a while to grade though
I wish I could take her class again! She is very sweet and her lectures are fun and not boring. She's an easy grader when it comes to essays. Make sure you read your textbook in order to pass exams and pay attention to her lectures.
Her lectures are not boring and literally everything she talks about is in the exams and quizzes so just pay attention. Not many assignments and she's an easy grader! If you don't understand something she will try her best to make sure you get it by the end of the week. She's dependable and is always in her office during her office hours!
What an awesome professor!! Short weekly quizzes, open-book and based on the readings. There was one paper and a discussion, though granted I was in a summer course. I loved her class, she is very passionate about history and cares about her students!
Professor Leggett was one of the best professors I've ever had. She was very caring and an excellent teacher.
Every week we had to read a source and then submit a flashcard with a question we had about the source. Overall, pretty easy class.
Every week, we had to read a source from a specific time period and then write a question we had about the source. Overall, not a difficult class at all.
Teacher is unclear of instructions, was dropped for no specific reason just the fact that I didn't finish the assignments due by the weekend , during the week, maybe the professor should take into consideration that we have lives outside of school during break and have to work.
