Awesome teacher. I hate public speaking and he makes you feel very comfortable talking in front of everyone. His class is an easy A if you attend and do your work. Gives out extra credit a lot. Gives great examples for everything and couldn't be anymore crystal clear.

He was a great teacher, I really didn't enjoy giving speeches but he was always very nice and happy in the audience. Really easy grader, after a while I wasn't nervous at all to give a speech. Go to class every day or else you'll lose easy points. Sometimes he'll give you 5 pts for just being in class.

WOW! What a great teacher, just do your work and study for his tests. Most importantly do all the speeches. Gives 30 extra credit points, and an extra 10 if you attend ALL classes (without tardies). Did not need the textbook. This was the first college course that I took at COD, and I thank him for the hospitality.

BEST SPEECH TEACHER EVER! I took speech my freshman year with another teacher, who was EXTREMELY hard and strict about everything and anything. Then I took Geiger this year, and he is AWESOME! He's fun, laid back, cool, and just an easy teacher. I would recommend him! Definitely!

Geiger is a nice guy. He's friendly, helpful, and a pretty easy grader- IF you do the work and do it on time. Also, there's a bunch of extra credit, and did I mention he went to YALE! However, he totally fails and gets angry with people who skip class all the time or don't do the work.

Jude is a very nice and easy going teacher. After the prick of a teacher I had in high school, his class was a big relief. I highly recommend him- also one of the best things about the class is there's no big group project- which I've heard most other teachers require and can is a total pain.

i really like this prof he made things very fun and i learned a lot, not only that he made us all feel welcome and came with a positive attitude and smile everyday, and even better he offered extra credit 8) and donuts after finals

Geiger is a great teacher. He went to law school and then decided to teach instead. It shows he is very passionate about what he does and will do anything to help you. He is also a coach for COD's speech team so he's very good at what he does. Class is fun, just show up and do the work and you'll get an A. Don't buy the book. You never use it.

The ABSOLUTE best professor I've ever had. He's super chill as long as you don't miss a ton of class. He makes speech as fun as it's ever gonna get lol. He's super sincere and really makes sure that everyone in his class does well. You can make jokes with him and he makes it easy to do well in speech. Definitely learned a lot from him too.

Grades speeches so easy! I took this online and it was honestly one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Only 3 speeches that have to be around 5 minutes long each. If you can, take him!! Especially if you're really nervous about taking a speech class, he will make you feel really comfortable.

Geiger will teach you interesting skills that you can apply to work. Interesting and not boring lectures (shows good videos to relate to the subject he's teaching) He does take attendance and gives you good feedback on how to improve on your speeches. Overall, easy class and he genuinely cares that you do good in his class.

He was hands down my best professor at COD this semester. He was always lively, happily teaching us with interesting PowerPoint presentations and YouTube videos. I never found myself bored in his class. His grading proceedings were fair and clear thanks to his handouts, although his penmanship could use some work ;). YOU MUST TAKE HIM FOR SPEECH!

I was really nervous for speech since I have a hard time talking in front of people but he gives this really good positive vibe. Soon enough I was sitting in the front and participating in class. Professor Jude Geiger is by far the best teacher! Speech was definitely not a class I was interested in. So glad I picked this class. He is so friendly and very enlightening. Jude is a really great guy and a talented teacher. He understands how frightening public speaking can be, and he helps you get through it. I did it online in 8 weeks over the summer. It's a very reasonable workload. Also, the mandatory text is both inexpensive and real life useful.

Very easy class. You have about 5 to 6 speeches during the course of the semester, 1 midterm and 1 final both very easy. Very good grader all students have the potential for A+ because the man gives participation points and extra credit to show up to class. So don't be the loser who doesn't show up and fails.

I avoided taking speech for 2 years and when I finally decided to take his class I was not disappointed, I even got to attend a speak off and placed top 10. I also received the "best speaker" award voted by the class. He makes class super enjoyable and you only have 4 speeches and an interview with a partner at the end. Definitely recommend.

Hands down my favorite professor. He made speech class fun and easy, plus he'll give participation points for showing up. Only gives a midterm and final test that is strait off his study guide. Smart, funny guy and I highly recommend his class.

He is a whatever type of teacher. Not rude, but he is just there to grade and move on, can't really joke with much or expect much fun. Speech class is known for being an easy class as is so the usual classroom environment is what you should expect from him. Take notes, do your speech on time and you will pass. don't remember needing a book so ask.

Jude is a great teacher! The lectures are long but he makes them fun and interesting. There are quite a few group activities but they are fun and small. I took the AFT course and we only had to do three speeches. The grading criteria is very clear. He also provides extra credit. Best professor I ever had. I would take another of his classes!

Would recommend taking this teacher. For the partial internet course you meet for three speeches on three separate occasions. He gives extra credit if you participate during the speeches, like holding the time cards or showing people how to use the projector. I learned plenty from him and thought his feedback was awesome.

One of the best prof's I've ever had. Very involved, filmed lectures posted, excellent speaker (one would hope :) ). Has a good sense of humor, replies within a few hours to messages, great feedback provided, fair grader. You will not be disappointed. Also, he really likes cats. That was an instant "5" in my book.

Professor Gaiger was really amazing and I really enjoyed his class although it was mostly online besides coming in three times to present my speech. His online class was very organized, he responded to emails right away and overall as long as you do your assignments its an easy A. Would recommend this class to everyone.

Jude was a great speech teacher; he's very caring and tries to make the class more interesting. I know everyone hates speech, because I still do, but he's very understanding and also has clear rules as to what the speech needs. There's also readings, but I don't think anyone reads them. There's 4 speeches and a "job interview"; all easy A's.

Professor Geiger is a wonderful speech teacher! As someone who hates public speaking, he made it much more bearable for me. You can tell he really tries to make sure everyone feels comfortable and understands how they will be graded. Just read through the rubric he posts for each speech to make sure you have all the necessary components.

Just finished Geiger's summer animal-based speech class. TAKE IT!! It was really fun. First half of the class we worked on speeches, second half we took a field trip that was animal based. Final was going to Brookfield Zoo. Since it's 5 weeks, attendance is mandatory. Gives a clear outline on what is required in your speech. Great teacher too!

Prof Geiger is accessible, caring and responsive. I took an internet class with no lecture of any kind but still felt like I got to know him. He wanted to help us succeed. 1 somewhat unrelated note to anyone who can take Speech 1110 OR 1120: 1120 is heavy on group projects and you may have to sink time into getting group members to do their work.

Only 4 speeches throughout the whole semester. Gives points for showing up and participating. Extra credit throughout the semester. A little awkward, but he was ok. Is definitely one of the easier professors.

Class isn't mandatory however, there is an "assignment" just about every day thats like 10 points. I skipped a little but if you do good on the speeches you should get a solid B. There is extra credit throughout the semester but it's always random. Jude was awesome!

Super nice and accommodating prof. All the speeches were recorded and then submitted to YouTube. There are 4 units and 3 group projects (2 of them are speeches) and 4 easy quizzes. This class isn't that bad as I expected because I feel like most people know what they are getting themselves into and are ready to do their part.

I took Professor Geiger's speech hybrid with animals, it was the best class ever!! If you like animals and hate public speaking this is the class to take. We only met 5 times, but each time we went on a field trip. Only 3 speeches were done. Easy A and super fun class! Our final was a trip Brookfield zoo.

Probably the best speech professor you could ever take. Overall there were only three speeches that are mandatory. If you take the accelerated class there are weekly quizzes. If you do everything that's assigned and listen to his feedback your guaranteed to pass with an A. Not to mention he gives extra credit if your active in class! TAKE HIM!!

Amazing professor, one of the easiest speech professors to take here at COD! Quizzes can be attempted 2 times, is a very lenient and generous grader. Since its a fully asynchronous class, make sure to read the assignments and stay ahead of schedule. You could do all your homework and quizzes all at the beginning of the semester and relax!

Super easy class. He is lenient on the grading for the three speeches and the quizzes are basically common sense. I did feel like I actually learned about how to speak in a group as well, his feedback was great.

I enjoyed his class. Professor G. does seem to enjoy him job. That makes the experience enjoyable. Lots of ways to meet your classmates by forcing us to work together for short projects. That really made it a great experience.

He outlined the course expectations really well, and his grading is very reasonable. Class was super easy, very clear on what he will grade you on far as speeches, offers extra credit. must present all speeches in front of 6 people. i turned in one of my speeches almost two weeks late and he still gave me an A on the speech

My favorite class this semester. He made it really fun and engaging, and he enjoys his job and cares about his students. Only had to give three big speeches and gave extra credit on every one. Gives points for showing up every day and participating. Makes it very easy to get an A. Treats "Honors" as more unique topics rather than harsher grading.
