Professor Whitton is fantastic! She is approachable about everything--including how to apply the concepts to your own life, and how to deal with in-class troubles. Very clear about everything she expects, and willing to answer any questions as needed. She came into this class as a substitute professor... and far exceeded all expectations!

Ms. Whitton is tough but fair and really helpful. I was having trouble with some of the class stuff and she really helped me out. I ended up with a B in her class. I think she cares as much as you care about the class. She gives a lot of examples that help you understand the material.

Was EXTREMELY scared taking public speaking, but she made it so fun. While everyone seems to really dread giving speeches, she really helps u make it like u can do it w/no problems. Really dedicated & very approachable. The homework & assignments she gives u is pretty straightforward. I highly recommend taking this professor for a speech class.

She is a great professor. You should always do assignments on time and study for the quizzes. The final was composed of the quizzes she gave throughout the semester and it was fairly easy. The speeches are a must to get an A in the class. Very helpful and caring. Must take!

Proffesor whitten is a great instructor and person. By far the best teacher i had in any subject any where.Extreamly knowledgable and funny. She truely cares about her students and comes to class totally prepared. I will miss her. Sure wish Max was ontime ; )

OK. She is a nice lady and all that. She is clear and is upbeat BUT she tells you if you keep and OVERALL knowledge of the material you'll be fine...NOT. You will need to have memorized EVERTHING she covers. She has the hardest tests I have ever taken. Hers makes any philosophy class test look like a walk in the park...I am not kidding!

Truly an amazing professor! The tests were a little hard. She would basically do anything to help you as much as she possibly can in the class. She makes class interesting and fun. Take her if you can.

Whitton is an excellent professor. Very helpful and engaging. There was about 5 essays with 2 extra credit assignments. Her tests include multiple choice and 2-3 short essays. If you have an opinion on a topic, support it in your writing and you'll get an A. I highly recommend her!

Jude Whitton was very nice, engaging, and fun as a teacher. I had a very good time in her class and learned a lot. Her study guides are extremely vague and is not clear on how to do certain assignments. Other than that she is fantastic and one of my favorite teachers that I have had at RCC.

Professor Whitton is 1 of my favorite teachers at RCC. She makes class fun while teaching us at the same time. I found her helpful both during & after class. If I ever had a question or needed more information she was more than willing to help me. I wish there were more professors like her. I cannot wait to take her again this next semester!

She was very willing to help when asked. She definitely knows this subject well. Mrs. Whitton used games (fun games) and video clips to keep the class entertaining. The tests do include a few short answer essays, but she tells you what to study the session before. I highly recommend her class.

Jude Whitton was one of my favorite teachers in college. The subject is very interesting and she makes class really fun. Her study guides were terrible and very vague, but she tries her best to help you out. Great teacher, great class.

One of the best teachers at riverside and best class I could have taken. She's is super nice and super easy going in class. Only two test midterm and final. No HW, easy extra credit, final paper. Didn't need the book because she used power point and said everything that was in the book. You should really take this class with her.

I took whitton for 2 com classes and I loved her! She is honestly so sweet and really cares about her students. Her tests are a little more difficult than expected but she gives really helpful assignments and her class is based on points. She gives lots of extra credit to help and you get a point ec a day for not using electronics. Excellent!

All the great reviews of Professor Whitton are spot on! She is great, helpful and prepared me for the next step in my college career. I can not thank her enough. Public Speaking was beyond scary. By the end of the semester, I had begged for an hour to speak. I would love to take her again. Plus she's hot so that worked out.

I took her for the fall semester and it definitely wasn't a cakewalk. She assigns a lot of work and has high expectations for the speeches. However, the quizzes are super easy and she will help you out with your speech. Loved the class and learnt a lot! Got an A but had to work hard for it.

Super nice, and sweet teacher. She tries to make lectures fun, interesting and easy to understand. The tests are hard and can be confusing so you have to study, but she curves it. The project isn't that bad if you don't procrastinate and it really helps to turn it in before so she can check and you can make corrections.

Professor Whitton was seriously a great teacher. This was one of my first classes right out of high school and I can honestly say it was very likeable class. Not very hard just do your work and see her when you have questions, she a very likeable person.

Professor Whitton is beyond amazing. Everything she does revolves around her students. She breaks up the course so it's easier on the students and manages the curriculum well. There are five main speeches and one small group speech, all of which are much less intimidating than you first think. She really brought he class together.

Professor Whitton is one of the best professors at RCC. She makes sure you know what to expect from her class. You need to make sure that you prepare for ALL of your speeches and she will remind you of your deadlines. I had done some public Speaking in the past but she is very good at teaching you how to prepare for them. Office hours are the best.

Prof. Whitton is an amazing professor. She always answers questions and emails. Always. If she doesn't, it's because you emailed her too late, like on the day of a test/speech. I respect her so much that I've taken Com7 to have her.

I loved her! I was dreading taking public speaking because I don't really like to speak in front of an audience, but her class made me feel more comfortable with it and she made me realize that it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be! This class was fun, but a little difficult she expects a lot of homework, quizzes and speeches. she is a tough grader. She is very helpful and understanding. she gives extra credit. i command taking this class

If you have questions towards an outline, don't be afraid to ask. She gives good feedback. Some speeches require business attire but she's not strict on the dress code. A blazer, pants, and some nice dress shoes will do. Always smiling and is nice.

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. I love her class and I'm so sad that it ended. If you every get the chance to take COM 11 (storytelling) with her hop on it, you won't regret it!

Professor Whitton was my absolute favorite teacher! She gives so much attention to her students and cares for their grades. You must participate but if you choose speeches that peak your interest, she will do everything she can to help you get to the grade you want.

I loved taking Prof Whitton, I took her for both Com 9 and Com 7, and if she had any other com classes I still needed, I would take her again. You can really tell she cares about her students and what she's teaching. She is always positive an upbeat, and creates a comfortable environment. As a comm major I 100% recommend!

I enjoyed taking this class. She is an excellent teacher and she is always ready to help if you are struggling. She is very lenient on her homework policy (though it is best to be done on time). She is very interactive, very funny, and very relatable to her students. I very highly recommend taking COM3, you will learn a lot and have fun doing it.

She's so caring and knowledgeable about what she is teaching. Any time I had a question she was always helpful and made sure I understood. She is also really good at responding to emails. If I needed another Com class I'd take her for sure!

I took this class a while, but Professor Whitton is positively amazing! I have bad anxiety and the thought of this class was terrifying, but she made the classroom a comfortable place to be. She is a tough, fair grader. I never once felt judged during a speech. There is a dress code for certain speeches, but it's pretty lenient. Take this class!!

As for the textbook, she says you need it but you can access it at the CCE and you can make copies of the readings so you don't need to get the book. She is like the equivalent of an elementary teacher but in professor form. The reason is because she is very sweet and caring and is on top of responding to your emails! Overall learned a lot from her

I took Comm 7 as an elective and it was my hardest class all semester long! Professor is really nice and her lectures are great! You will have to present in front of class A LOT!!! Lots of papers are required with each presentation. Outside performances are required as well. She is overall a nice professor but I didn't enjoy the class presentations

Although I took this course as a requirement, I genuinely enjoyed it. Professor Whitton uses lots of visuals and examples in her lectures. She does assign homework every week, but it can easily be completed in an hour. She also gives her students several opportunities for extra credit.

I took Mrs. Whitton's COM9 for Summer and I am soo happy that I did. It was a fast 6 week course, with lots of assignments but they were really easy. She is very kind and you'll enjoy her class! Just show up to class, do the required essays and you'll pass!

In my opinion a book is needed. Aside from that Jude is an excellent professor. Caring and really makes the class enjoyable So enjoyable I really considered communication as a minor. Shes funny but really wants her students to succeed. Little group chats, group project at the end, quizzes, and a final. Great class, would take again if I could.

She was a sweet lady. However it felt more like an English class than a communication class. Lots of papers, the study guide on the final stated, true false, multiple choice and short answers, however the final consisted of a 750-1000 word essay and 3 short answers! She's a very tough grader! Slowest grader ever. Still waiting for final grade!!

Professor Whitton is the best, she is so caring, the assignments are not hard at all. just be sure to completely fill out your papers and use all details. practice your stories, be on time to class. she is easy! she loves what she does.

This was the hardest class I have taken. Many said this is an easy A class... but I am not good at speaking in front of people and it was very hard for me to keep my grade up even though I did all the HW and studied. This class has helped me a lot though and I learned a lot of cool things as well, I don't regret taking it but the class was tough.

Professor Whitton was truly a wonderful professor to have. She is funny and genuinely cares about her students. There is quite a bit of homework, but nothing that is exceptionally hard or too intensive. The homework really feels like it's helping you understand the material to the fullest which I enjoyed. The class was "storytelling." She is a great teacher, very charismatic, engaging, helpful, and no-nonsense. Not lenient but in a good way, you won't get away with screwing around. I failed because of health probs and poor attendance, but it wasn't because of the professor. I would highly recommend.

I took her for an online class. It is pretty standard weekly discussions with responses some quizzes and exams. There are papers too. As long as you know when things are due it is fine. She gives some extra credit that you can do.

I took Jude's COM 9 and COM 2 courses and they were honestly so much fun. Jude is organized and clear with everything she asks of her students, so she makes it possible for everyone to do well. I took her classes for credits I needed, but I use what I learned from Jude's classes all the time. The classroom environment is always positive. Take Her!

Professor Whitton was an amazing teacher! I took her online which was clear and concise and felt very personable. Everything is organized. Get ready for speaker analysis and a lot of discussion boards. READ THE BOOK. If you don't, you will not do well. Responds to emails fairly quick and is very sweet. Do any extra credit offered. She is such a nice teacher although I haven't talk to her. Her lecture videos shows that she's a nice person. The class is fun even if I took it cause it was mandatory. Be prepared with discussion boards sometimes it's a lot but not all the time. If you understand the lesson everything should be easy for you.

Professor Whitton was such a sweetheart! She has been nothing but considerate, especially during the COVID pandemic. There is a lot of work like discussion posts and term papers but that is expected in a COM class. She is more than happy to help you and has no problem further clarifying anything. If we weren't in a pandemic, I'd give her a big hug!

She is a very good teacher leaves feedback on assignments to motivate you and help you. Make sure to look at assignments ahead of time because assignments have two parts with different dates. Exams were not hard at all and towards the end of the class she gives a good amount of extra credit.

Mrs Whitton is an amazing teacher! I cant say I was surprised by how many good reviews shes received, she really is the best teacher to take for COM 9, I took it online but found that she was so concise it was hard not to pass. Shes a sweet person to talk to even outside of class! Looking forward to taking her again!

She is a tough grader but she does takes 3 weeks to grade our work. She is a really nice professor and understanding. Her lecture is hard, gives lots of hw, gives videos to watch for her lecture, and exams is the hardest part. You have to work a lot harder if you want to pass this class. Yes, she takes forever to check her emails.

Had her online course and her lectures were very short and sweet (5min. lectures). Weekly discussion posts (our own post+3 reponses). For the finals, we had to make journals and write a term paper. We also had to do a 'group project' where we upload a video and just give feedback to our members, but no real interaction with them.

Was supposed to take this class in person but was moved online. I was worried because I don't like online classes. She helped me whenever I had a question and got back to me right away. Covered topics well. We had weekly discussions, exams, and a few papers. Still hate online but would recommend her, learned a lot about myself in the class!

Super accessible, replies to all emails and questions no matter how small. Had small weekly assignments, needed to watch speeches, one big paper and presentation at the end. Watch her lectures do the work and you can't fail. She makes it clear what is expected. I enjoyed this class and highly recomend professor Whitton.

I had one professor like Dr. Whitton in HS. He's the reason I'm continuing my education. Dr.Whitton is one of those teachers we need more of out there. She cares. Its easy work. Lots of busy work but things that'll take 5 min. Im nervous in speeches but honestly she makes the class feel like a safe space. I wish I could take all her classes.

Whitton is amazing! Her class made me reflect on myself and how I come across. Would take her again and she was always very energetic. Writing heavy but feedback helped me improve on that skill. Tougher than my English class, so be on your best grammar/punctuation game. Takes a while to grade. Gives good feedback. Make note of her grading rubrics and you'll be fine. Great lecturer. Reference the textbook in your assignments if you want a good grade. Be specific and use examples!! Minimal assignments, great addition to a full time schedule.

Prof. Whitton's com-9 class has been one of my easiest and favorite classes. She is a great person in general and teaches the material well so that you can apply in real life. Few homework assignments but they are essays (4 in total). Include txtbook material, follow the rubric & you'll be fine. Super understanding but not flexible on late policy.

Dr. Whitton is super caring and loves rhetoric. took this class in short term, had no midterm or final test. Only a few speech analyses and 1 final project (that you actually need to put thought and effort into). she helps you prepare. discussion post heavy if online. tough grader, rarely gives out As unless the work really is outstanding.

At first, she is a very tough grader, but once you grasp what she expects from your work this class is an easy A!! She is easy to reach with any questions/concerns and is very understanding. 10/10 for this class, I'm now taking her com-9 and I love it!!

Professor whitton is really nice and she gives good lectures. Only a few hw assignments throughout the semester. There are quizzes and a final exam. There is a group project at the end but don't worry, ur grade isn't linked to ur groupmates if u happen to get lazy groupmates. assignments are pretty easy. you do have to read online book, its free.

Easy person to talk to and understand. Good person online but even better in person. Made me a better writer and understand interpersonal relationships better. Gives 2 weeks to do each module so stay ahead or else it will add up! W/ free textbook, easy in workload and thinking.

i've learned a lot about interpersonal communication and had fun as well. the online class is heavy on the discussion forum, but it's necessary in order to be a good communicator. the professor provides great feedback. she is passionate about the subject and cares for her students as well.

Dr. Whitton's class opened my eyes to how good a college classroom can be. She showed genuine care and was so accommodating with my needs and schedule. She grades fairly and is generous with feedback. As long as you participate and take the class seriously, you'll get an A and hopefully an enlightening experience.
