I could see how people could find her rude, because she is very straight forward on everything. For a class that is fun, and easy, I would recommend her. As well, she's always there if you need help out of class. (lots of group tests)

She's a really fun teacher to have for something like psychology. Discussions are amusing and she makes the material interesting. As long as you have a sense of humor and you can take things in stride, this class is really cool.

This professor i would have to say was very interesting to have when learning about General Psychology. There was no papers to do in this class, just tests and all of them can be done in groups except the final. Shes is very helpful, and willing to help.

Addelson is a cool teacher she definatley makes coming to class fun. She can sometimes be in a bad mood and take it out on the class. She likes to kind of force her beliefs on others. Overall you will love this class she is a truly gifted professor.

i had her this pass spring. she is very interestng. she lectures!. she does not read the text! all tests can be taken in groups of 1, 2, or 3. final is accumulative and has to be taken alone. study your study guide! you can pass!!!!

As long as you pay attention in class and study, you'll do great. I had some problems with her views-she is very out spoken about how she feels. But I learned a lot and would have taken her Dev. Psy. if it had fit into my schedule.

Lectures are very interesting. Her lectures are extremely one-sided and basically takes a feminist standpoint on everything. Even though this is the case, I would still suggest her class because it's extremely helpful.

This is my second class with her. I enjoy her honest opinions and "bluntness" with some topics. She is easy to follow and more than fare in regards to her tests. (She tells you where to study the questions. BUY THE STUDY GUIDE!)

She's very nice. Has people bring in their kids as examples, and explains everything very well. Very interesting lectures. I had an A and I never had to read the book or the study guide, that's how well she teaches. Lets her opinions be known, but does not force them on you. Definately recommend.

Grade is based entirely on test scores. She did not offer any extra credit, or class assignments. Granted, she is a great professor and very likable, but unless you ace the tests your grade will not be perfect. I think she is lazy when it comes to grading papers. All tests on scantron & no homework.

If you are a christian this is not the class for you!She is an evolutionist and expresses that freely.Everything in the world to her is because of mother nature setting us up for the future. Everything is because of evolution.

Awesome class with a real way of making you comfortiable with yourself and the others around you. extra crdit before every test by watching selected movies and a two page paper. group tests people!! Always has a way to make you think about society and what we all commonly think about in our society.

Wonderful professor, only 4 tests (which makes it hard to keep an A in the class) and great lectures. No homework and if you take notes and study the tests are easy!

she relates every topic to sexism and blames men for everything wrong in the world. the class is easy, but heres test contain questions that were not discussed in class or in the book. just choose the most feminist answer and you will get it right. if you want to learn something take someone else.

There was 1 chick in my class who asked dumb ?'s who annoyed every1 including Dr. Addelston. Otherwise Judith is one of the best teachers I've had, learned a lot more from group tests and the desks in a circle made it more interactive instead of blah. She doesn't believe in stressing anyone out, hence the group tests.

Great teacher, resepects all insights. To those who felt dumb after making a comment, it was prob. because you were dumb. Trust me, I've heard people say dumb thing in this class. Group tests, clear instructions, great insights, and a great person! Take this class!

Honestly the best professor I have ever had. Keeps the class laughing but learning at the same time. Very interesting.

She makes the class sit in a semicircle and encourages you to hang out on the weekends. She isn't afraid to put you in the spotlight or call you out. She asks your opinion. Very informative. She gives handouts that are hilarious. She was like the cool mom who wasn't scared to remind you to wear a condom or what the correct anatomical parts were.

She is a great professor. She makes the material easy to understand and retain.

I have taken 4 of Dr Addelston's classes. I have enjoyed every class!! You will absolutely learn alot from her. Her tests r grouped together, up to 3 persons. If u wish, u can take them alone aswell. Dr Addelston "DOES NOT" push her beliefs on u. She will answer ur qns if u do ask her what she thinks of the topic in qn. "Religous Friendly also"!

Addelston was one of the best teachers i ever had she is fair but firm. Expect to learn a lot and come to class prepared.

One of her lectures were so powerful and moving I began to cry as if I were in the audience of The Oprah Winfry Show. "Amazing" is all I have to say about this teacher and the classes that she teaches. :)

Awesome teacher, super class. Tests are hard but you can do them in groups! I studied really hard and scored an A for all of my test, so it can be done. The lectures are fun, impressive and you learn sooo much. She is fun, liberal and you talk about anything. Take this teacher if you want to learn and you are willing to work for it.

i took her for human sexuality and it was awsome!!! she is open minded and the lectures are fun and very interactive. her test are a bit hard but you get to work in groups and even if you look over the notes before class, you should be fine. i would definetly recommend this to everyone!!

The stuff she goes over will usually be on the test, but other than that study the chapter well. She knows her stuff. I'm taking her again for developmental psychology aiming for a high B again. Great teacher! She knows her subject matter because she LIVES it and has her own practice. VERY cool, gives extra credit alot. HARD TESTS!!! MUST study for them, but overall she is very helpful. Do not make a fool of yourself by using the word crazy loosely. I saw her humiliate a smart alec girl for doing that. FUNNY, but wouldnt want it done to me

This class was incredible (Drugs and Addiction). You will discover so much about yourself. There are three exams and one paper. The paper is about yourself, and the exams are only 50 questions. Easy if you study (even just a little bit). She lets you work in groups, and she makes the classroom completely comfortable. She's not rude, she's sarcastic with a dry sense of humor. You can't take yourself too seriously. I strongly recommend her.

I had her for General Psych then took her again for Drugs & Addiction. She is the most amazing professor. ever. The class, especially D&A was just like a big discussion session...big group therapy! Most days we'd put our desks in a circle and she'd sit and talk with us. She's incredible. I'd take her again for anything.

Ms Addelston was great in Dev Psych. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. There are group tests but hardly any other assignments so you have to, "have to" do well on the tests. Dr. Judi is the best teacher in the entire world! I have never been so intrigued by a teacher/class as much as hers. I have taken 2 of her classes and I am taking another one with her this Fall. Overall OK. Great teacher, keeps you interested but tests are not really based on lectures, which is frustrating. Group tests in class, not too many other assignments so you HAVE TO, HAVE TO, do good on the tests which I did not like, do not take her if you are not a good test taker. She's funny though and you will actually like going to class.

Dr. Judi is a great professor. She is a marriage and family counselor so she knows what she's teaching about. She makes terms easy to understand and you are allowed to take tests in groups of 3. The study guide book is extremely helpful and some of the test questions are directly from it. And call her "DR" Judith.

Dr. Judi is a wonderful woman and is very informative on the subject matter. Her exams are not easy and I found reading the chapters in the textbook AND utilizing the study guide helped with exams. Even though the test can be taken in groups, it might not always work in your favor. She does provide ample EC and attendance helps your grade.

Wow, Community College makes people soft. I've had Dr. Addelston for 3 classes and she's great. If you read the textbook and pay attention in class (shocker I know) you'll do great. She really makes the material interesting, and applies it to real-life scenarios from her own practice.

LOVE her!! She is SO interesting, does lots of little self analysis tests in class, she does curse, so if you are the type who doesn't like that, eh.. You take 5 exams, the lowest grade is dropped (except the final) and that's how you are graded. She's a practicing psychologist. I was always disappointed when class was over. Just don't be late! (:

One of the best psych. teachers at VCC. Easy to understand, very funny, group tests!. Study the notes from lectures. Do study questions. Laugh. If the class is humorous and open than she will make the time fly by and fun. You learn a lot about life. Must take, major or not.

I took her drugs and addiction class, and it was to my surprise, very difficult. When you study she doesn't really tell you what you should focus on. The tests were VERY specific, i always studied and got mostly C's on the test. She let's you take tests in groups of 2 or 3, but still very difficult specific questions. READ EVERYTHING.

She gives extra credit but, not worth doing. She will assign a movie/book and you write a double-spaced two page paper but it is only worth 1 point. So you decide.you are allowed to take group tests but the average grade of the group on the test was a high C low B. Her final review is very vague. Good teacher but should find diff way of teaching

She made the class really interesting with short videos and regular handouts. Read the book! (the book is actually interesting) Group test! (optional) If multiple people missed the same questions on a test and made a good argument as to why, she wouldnt count off for it. Great class!

This class is not an easy A but it's not hard to get. You have to get the book and read it, being that she really just goes over the main points in each chapter. She has four group tests and drops the lowest test grade but final is by yourself. Just study all the definitions in each chapter and you'll be fine. Also gives out extra credit.

very interesting, fun class. attendance is mandatory but its only a lecture and there is NO work at all. shes very enthusiastic, if you like psychology you will learn alot. If you dont all you have to do is show up, read the book, and take the tests and you pass

This class is night and day compared to Mrs.Dunson's class.Mrs.Addleston is much more helpful and actually teaches her students instead of reading off a power point.

A lot of fun hand outs & class discussion. I really loved the class and got a lot out of it but I'm a psyc major. The tests were a bit difficult but READ YOUR BOOK! and they you will do well. :) Great teacher though!

Her class is easy the only thing is you dont know what will be on the test she doesnt give a study guide also for the final she does give you a study guide but the questions MIGHT be on the test. By far the best teacher I've ever had! I'm a psych major, so it was easy for my to pay attention but either way, she's clear with the material and makes it easy to understand. Tests are partner, except for the final which is taken individually. Attendance is mandatory if you want the extra 5 points added onto your final.

Easy A, and you will learn A LOT. She knows a lot about the subject and KNOWS how to teach it. All we have our test and HW. We get to take every test in a group except the final. HW is online and there's no way u cant pass its easy. Study her notes, the book comes with the code for hw so u need the book, or u can buy them separately. Take her :)

Definitely an interesting course, however, if you don't do well on tests don't take it because your grade mainly comes from tests. A couple of extra credit assignments that she offers. Class discussions are always fun. All of the powerpoint presentations are available online and I only used them (not the book) when studying for tests.

As long as you do the learn smart questions and study your notes from class, you will pass the tests. She even allowed us to have partner for our tests. I loved this class and learned so much! We had yoga breaks! She provides plenty of extra credit and as long as you do your online Homework you will pass the class. The test are group collaborations except for the final. Overall very relaxed environment and would take her again.

She is a tough teacher, but gives great lectures. She is super funny, laid back,and knows what she is talking about. She does curse and make adult jokes which some may be offended by, but I did not mind them. There is a lot of homework, one project, and you can take the test in groups. Super easy to pass!!

I love how she engages the class in every lecture. It really helped me learn more in the class. Her power points are easy to follow and the homework is pretty easy. But make sure to study for the test and that's what the homework is really useful for. She's an amazing professor and I would definitely take her again.

LOVED this class and her as a professor! Seriously I'm not just some nerd writing a review on here, I'm the average student that has trouble even showing up to class but SERIOUSLY TAKE HER. The exams you get to take with a partner, and the material is not hard to understand, not to mention her lectures are hilarious and easy to understand.

It's online class so mostly ran by learnsmart and little instructor interaction, but the discussions were cool - while they did challenge your book knowledge, they did give you an opportunity to present your personal opinion which kept it interesting. Graded quickly - be prepared to read, class is harder/faster paced then gen psych

Did not try to reach out to her but she was a quick grader and actively checked up on the class progress. It was enjoyable but lots and lots of reading.

She is amazing in her field. Though she teaches a tough subject, she makes everything easy to understand and is there to answer all questions. She does assign a few APA papers along with some question heavy learnsmarts but lets you take her tests in groups of three or less! She is NOT a tough grader so just put in the work and you will pass!

Dr. Addelston is hilarious and super sarcastic. She makes her lectures/powerpoints interesting. Homework is all learnsmart assignments. Lets you take exams in groups of 2 or 3. Also gave many extra credit opportunities. Attendance is important and also does not allow cellphone usage in class. Would take again!

Great professor, just learnsmars as homework all due the same day of the exam. Plus extra creditttt ALOT ! Too easy; even the exams are group taken.

I wake up excited to be apart of her class. You feel important, your voice and thoughts matter, the whole class engages, and overall shes the best professor Ive ever had. Ive taken her for 4 psych courses and loved every single one of them. I go to UCF next semester and Id be lying if I said my heart didnt break a lil when I had to leave her.

Homework is on connect (online) no physical textbook. Do all the homework, and when its time for tests go over the homework of the chapters for the tests like twice at least. The tests may be taken in groups of three except for the final. Also if you can do the extra credit do it, I didn't do any, so had to study hard for final.

I took this class online as a flex start class, and she was a breeze! There was minimal work ethic needed. As long as you did the discussions, online homework, and the tests then you can get an A! My ONLY issue was that the homework assignments contained 60-90 questions, which is a lot to do in 1-1/2 weeks when you are taking 4 other classes.

It was like my birthday in this class everytime, all the tests except for the final you can take with a group no more than 3, HW is just modules with a bunch of questions on the chapter (you can just look it up on quizlet) overall it was like Christmas.

I took her beginning PSY class online. She was fair with her grades. I submitted assignments where I didn't give my full effort and she graded them appropriately. I'm going to seek her out and take a class with her in the classroom. I highly recommend her!!

She's the best psychology teacher ever. You'll actually learn a lot form her. Her exams are in groups or 2 but the final is alone/cumulative. I took her 8:30am class and i didn't care how early it was, it was so fun. She's really funny too. Take her!

Took online. Decent class but didnt learn much. Learnsmart hw & discussions due every week. I found a way to do the HW for the semester ahead of time but she wouldn't open discussions until week of which is annoying for an online class. Tests taken at home open book & pretty easy. Easy A but not interesting class for online format.

Professor Addelston is a great professor. You learn a lot in her class and the assignments are not that difficult. The assignments are very long though, so prepare to spend some time completing the weekly assignments. Besides that, I believe that her class is a great choice and I highly recommend it.

I love her! She's by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She's super funny, super fair and super helpful! This is my second time taking her class because I did not trust any other teacher after having her for gen. psych. All tests but final are taken in groups, and homework due every few weeks. She inspired me to be a psychologist.

Took PSY 2012 online with Professor Addelston. SO EASY! she grades fairy. For the discussion post make sure you write paragraphs for your initial post. Tests are all online you have 70 minutes to complete 50 questions. Homework is time consuming but you keep re-trying until you get them all right. She responds to emails fasts!

Prof. Addelston is super chill and funny. All the tests are group tests except for the final. She has cool real-life examples due to her being a family/marriage counselor. The content is interesting and she explains things thoroughly without boring the class! I'm taking another psych class with her next semester!

Overall, a really nice professor. She doesn't seem to have a lot of involvement though since most of the class (online) is done through an online textbook program. All tests are multiple choice and so they are automatically graded. Answered emails and questions promptly and was helpful. Even rounded up my grade by half a point so I got an A.

This was an online course so everything was really self taught. You read one chapter per week, which are pretty lengthy but easy, along with a 500 word discussion post and two replies as well as the Learnsmart for each chapter via the McGraw-Hill website. Read the chapter, write your posts/replies. There are 4 exams and they are all very easy.
