Honestly the class isn't terrible. Sure she's opinionated, but that really just means that if your opinions are stupid or wrong, she won't accept them. A good thing about this class was that she helps you with your essays a lot

I actually learned a lot in this class. She is a smart professor that can make you feel dumb sometimes. I like her grading method though-it's all about the points, which is out of 100.

Not too hard of a class. Best way to succeed is to take notes and when she is giving example papers, COPY THEM AND USE THEM FOR YOUR PAPERS! She's nice and available for help all the time.

I hated this teacher! She was such a ****. Yeah she's there to give you advice and help you, but even if after she helps you and you feel confident about your work, you still get a low grade. Kiss her ass from the beginning, volunteer your work, and ask for help all the time and maybe you'll pass.

Class is very easy and you actually learn how to write in her class. She's funny and very helpful if you go to her office hours. Do all her writing assignments and you'll get an A.

She is under-rated. Her assignments are not that difficult. 1- Academic Essay, 1-Editorial, 1-Resume/Cover Letter, 1-Brochure, a revision portfolio, and a final. These assignments are short and she gives you all kinds of time to do it. Don't be scared talk in class and she will like you better.

Class was simple. All you have to do is everytime she assigns a writing project, 4 of them in all, go to her office for help and you will get an A. I cant write for**** and I got an A.

This is a straight forward class. Do expect to do alot of writing (for it is a writing class after all!). I thought it was fun. She is very demanding, but this will only help you in the long run.

I know a lot of people don't like her, but I enjoyed her class and learned a lot I think she is a good professor! I say if you are scared because of everything everyone else has written don't take her class but if you are into the whole sarcasm thing she is really cool.

This is definately not an easy class, but you learn a lot about the different modes of writing. I'm glad I took it because I learned so much. There are three major papers, which I suggest that you take seriously. Get a first draft done each time and come in to see her. She will give you feedback and you can edit your paper accordingly. Don't slack!

Great Professor! I learned more from her than I did any other English teacher. Just go to lecture and be sure to creatively answer every question in her essay guidelines and it will be an easy A for you. Highly Recommend!

She is an excellent instructor and prepares you well for assignments. My complaint is that she has a tendency to treat students like children, for example calling a student out into the hall to lecture him after he made a comment she didn't like. Talks down and gets very defensive to the point of being unprofessional.

I got an A and she is a good teacher. However this lady has some issues. She's horribly rude and degrades students by treating them like children. I saw her tear up a poor guy in front of the class who was very respectful to her. She simply didn't like his opinion. She needs therapy and so will you if you get on her "bad" side.

I am very indifferent towards this teacher. If she likes you, she likes you. If she dislikes you, then beware. If you cannot commit to coming to every class and arriving early, do not even bother because she is a sucker for attendance and promptness. Assignments are straightforward but she is a tough grader.

Yeah everyone says this teacher is mean..but if you attend her class everyday, do the work she assigns, and stay quiet and respectful..she won't bother you. This teacher taught me a lot and I found her class to be quite interesting.

She has a very dry, biting sense of humor that most young students don't understand, hence the condescension people complain about. She pushes her students hard because she wants them to leave knowing how to write well and think analytically. I learned a great deal and I'm glad I chose to take a chance with her. If you're hard working, take her.

Definitely not as bad as some of the reviews stated. I actually wanted to find a different professor but couldn't so I had to take her. She's a hard grader but is very nice and willing to help you if you ask her. 4 essays, written midterm and editing final. Challenging but is a good class overall.

Not as bad as everyone says on here! If you put in a honest effort, she will like you! Sure she gives some students hard times, but thats bc they don't ever show up! So just do the work, show up, participate and you will do fine! She also cancels class a lot to hold office hours to help students with their papers. Very helpful.

I'm surprised at how pathetically immature some of these "crying" comments are! Everyone in my class took Prof A. waaayyy too seriously! It's true that she can be offensive, but grow up! Get your a** to class, PAY ATTENTION, & you'll do fine! It's the whiners & slackers who can't hang with this professor. And I'm sure that's her intentions.

I enjoyed this class actually. She definitely is condescending to her students and doesn't like anyone to disagree with her, but she is a good teacher, and she wants her students to learn. If you do poorly in the class it's likely your own fault.

She is a little sassy thing, but awesome. I really learned a lot in this class. I was very upset about taking it in the first place, but ended up being very glad about it. She will teach you how to be a better writer. Just do the work. Go to class. Participate. That's not a hard task. Welcome to college.

Professor A will teach a lot on how to be a good writer, and critical thinker. This is not a class u can skate through--you have to put work into your papers. I've learned a lot. Def recommend if ur not a slacker & love being challenged :P

She is a tough teacher but helpful. She prepares you well for RWS 305. You have to go to every class. She has her own textbook made and it is cheap. Vocab tests are hard but not impossible. work with the TA before turning in papers.

I hate writing classes and was bummed i had to take a remedial class, but this was a really good class. She isn't an easy teacher but I finally took something away from an RWS class. 5 papers total. In class peer editing which sucked but ultimately helped me get A's and B's on papers when usually I would get C's. I recommend her.

If you like a challenge take this class. Impossible to put off papers to last minute. Class is mandatory if you want to pass but is very helpful and willing to assist you during office hours. Be sure to COME TO CLASS ON TIME, got chewed out a couple times for coming late. Definitely NOT an easy A. If you dont want to work hard dont take her class.

honestly, i love to write, but Judith just frustrated me. she was a pretty good teacher, but she either wasn't interested in our opinions or just didn't respond well to what we said. she seemed very bitter as a person. she was accessible, but annoying. you will learn, but at your own personal risk. good luck!

Honestly she was mean but just misunderstood. She didnt care about student's opinions and always tried to put her opinions ahead of anyone elses. But, she was a pretty easy grader and was helpful with essays during office hours. We had to buy a course reader for $30 but only used 2 readings out of it. SHE TAKES ATTENDANCE so come even if its a pain

On the first day of class I was nervous about how the teacher was going to be, but when I went to her class I fell in love with her teaching style immediately! She is so helpful, so clear, so extremely awesome. I really cannot say one bad thing about her. She's not mean like other people say she is. Truly! She is a really good English teacher!

Judith is definitely a great english professor. We had to write 3 essays in total and they weren't that bad. She's so helpful. You can tell she wants her students to do well. Just don't procrastinate and you'll be fine:)

i would reccommend taking this class in the summer. it is wayy shorter and a lot less work especially if the class is required due to your grade on the WPA. she is hard but as long as you're not an idiot and you do the work you can actually learn a lot of helpful information..i know i did.

Here is the deal plain and simple for Annicchiarico, shut up and listen and you might learn something. Stop focusing on her blunt and yes, sometimes rude demeanor. You aren't going to like everyone you meet. Some kids couldn't take it, but I am proud to say that not only did I make it out on her good side but I am a much better wirter.

I completely enjoyed her class. Yes, attendance is mandatory. The class mainly consists of 3 essays and your final is an eval of your progress throughout the semester. There is group work, especially when you review your essays. She does have clicker quizzes, little if any homework and the quiz questions are super easy if you read the articles.

This class was fairly difficult with its fair amount of work. Though at time the teacher was a bit unclear with her directions, she gave help whenever needed. Shes a very smart lady with a lot to offer her students. Enjoyed the class very much. If your lazy then I recommend another class.

This professor made the class very enjoyable. Her sarcastic sense of humor cracked me up and although at times I was intimidated by her, I learned a lot from her. She was a fair grader, and was clear with directions. Many fellow classmates expressed distaste for this professor but i think it depends on the humor one finds amusing.

Also, when people say the assignments are not clear, they obviously do not go to her office hours or talk to her after class because she is very helpful if you do that. Definately taught me how to write a better essay. She gave us a while to write the essays and used class time to explain exactly how to write it and what she wanted in it. if you follow her guidelines for essays it is easy to get an A.

RWS is pretty simple, only 3 essays and a final. She is hilarious, some people could get offended by things she says but I found her incredibly entertaining. She is also very smart and knows a lot about what she is talking about, easy final and really helpful during office hours as well!

This teacher is hilarious. Be respectful, go to class, and be on time with your books assignments and you'll be fine. Class consists of 4 papers and some reading quizzes. She really knows the arguments presented in the readings she assigns. Likes to make jokes. Pretty easygoing. Wouldn't try any bs, just go to class and pay attention.

She is really funny and as long as you show up ON TIME and show respect, you won't have any problems. Bring a printed dictionary to class if you really want to impress her. 4 essays and a quiz!

There are 4 essays and a few little quizzes. You get to revise the first essay if you don't like the grade you get on it. She cancelled friday classes a lot for "independent study". She has a very dry sense of humor that I really enjoyed but it may not be everyones taste. She's a very hard grader but she clearly lays out her expectations.

Unlike many teacher she won't give you a good grade even though if you are her favorite student. She really cares about students learning and earning their grade. It's a very hard class but also one of the most rewarding because her class really prepares you for the future. I recommend this class if you are wiling to be very dedicated to her class

I noticed that many people found this professor to be a "hard grader," but I personally thought her grading was somewhat lenient, especially since I've never seen myself as a very good writer. She basically told us what she wanted in every essay and how she wanted it formatted; so you just have to listen and write down what she says.

Hilarious and sarcastic. Some may think its rude but I love it. Ask for help if u dont understand. She keeps attendance. Wants her students to succeed. She can tell whos putting in effort and who doesnt care. Assignments really help with your career path and has helped me become a better writer. Very clear assignments and rubric. Not a hard grader.

If you go to class, she'll tell you, in depth, what she expects from your paper and if you write it that way, you'll do well. 4 papers and a final, rarely a pop quiz on the reading. I took her class for both 100 and 200 and they prepared me for the WPA and I passed with a 10.

She's very helpful and specific on what needs to be done so make sure to read carefully. A mistake I made early in the semester was not having a work cited page for the second assignment and I could've had a B. Although some think she's mean or whatever, she's a wonderful person who loves animals. Also, try to avoid redundancy.(this hurt my grade)
