Web Course... really easy to work with and a fairly light couse load

Took the online course. She was very supportive and helpful. Would be happy to take another course taught by Dr. Dann!

Classical Mythology was fun as taught by her. It's an online course but her lectures are well written, and the literature she picked is fun to read. (except The Odyssey is kind of long). A very enthusiastic and helpful teacher.

I took Myth online. I had alot of personal problems arise during this class. She was very sweet and understanding. She loves to teach and it shows.

I took her HUM111 online class Winter '07 quarter. She was one of the best teachers I've ever had. She was extremely helpful and willing to do whatever it took to help me understand the material unlike a lot of online teachers. If you have to take this section of humanities, choose her.

Such a sweetheart! I took 111 online & was hesitant to call for help, but was glad I did. So understanding and helps you understand the material. It is a lot of work though, would only take if other classes were going to be easy!

I love Dr. Dann! This class was by far the most interesting History class I have taken. In fact I loved her so much I took her Myth class too. She is very clear about her expectations and is fair in her grading practices. Be prepared to think critically and analyze the texts. Her tests include essay questions. BTW-I hated history before this.

Dr. Dann was my professor for mythology online. Class could have been much easier if not for professors overly detailed method of teaching. Seriously, who is majoring in this subject? All hand written midterm and final not helpful either. I would recommend taking another elective, but if you must be ready to immerse yourself in mythology with her.

Took the online mythology course. As another said, it is a very detailed class, so be prepared to learn everything. Other than that, her lectures are very interesting and easy to understand. I would recommend this class only for those who think they might be interested in the subject of greek mythology. It makes it easier.

She was very helpful and her class was well put together. I had no problem understanding or comprehending the material. I wish she would have been my professor for Humanities 112 & 113.

AWESOME!! I took HUM111 with her and now I'm taking HUM222 with her as well. You definitely need to put forth the effor to learn the material, but her lectures are so interesting that it's easy. I was never interested in these subjects until I learned the from her. A+++++!!

It took this class online and it was alittle hard than expected. That just because you have to push yourself to actually do there work. She is extremely helpful with any questions you have and is willing to talk on the phone. Sometimes slow about getting back to emails. All the info is very well organized and has detailed summaries of the chapters!

LOVED HER! Best teacher at Columbus state so far. She made history interesting. Did I mention that I loved her! Only downfall is that since you don't use the textbook you have to come to every class to learn the material but she makes it fun.

She is great. Took an online class. She might on occasion take a minute to get back to you, but she will extend the due date if it her slowness interfered with original due date (she was having some sort of back problems at the time. All of the texts she decided to read that quarter could be found online in complete form, so check 1st before buying

Loved her. Took the online class. She was really nice and understanding if you had a situation. Like someone else said I read all my texts for free from various websites. So buying the books are not really necessary. But if you want to buy them check out one of the online bookstores because I found them all for under $5 each. I recommend her!!

Prof. Dann is a great teacher. I took this class online and was amazed at how detailed and informative her lessons are. I would find myself laughing while reading her lectures that she types up, they are the key to the quizzes and very fun to read. Anyone needing this class should take it with Prof. Dann, she is awesome.

Loved this online class! She is clear on assignments, easy grader on papers. her online quizzes were somewhat confusing to me. Overall, I would re-take this class from her. She answers emails, takes any input from students, and only wish I had taken an "in class" version to meet her.

Midterm and final are essay questions so you need to read and understand the book. The class is easy compared to other hum. classes

BEST PROFESSOR I was worried about taking this class because of the required papers to write the material but she makes easy and fun! She doesn't use the $90 text book but does use a $10 optional book. Her tests and quizes are straight from her lectures.. easy! TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!

Can I say BEST professor ever? I had no interest in world history prior to this class. She definitely changed my mind. History is definitely fun to learn(especially in her class). She is very lenient. Only downside is, she doesn't give out notes.. just straight lecture.. so make sure to take notes carefully. Her quizzes are fairly easy.

I took her online HUM 222 (mythology) class. If you read her lectures & the assigned reading you will do just fine! She doesn't use a textbook and I did buy the books but actually you can find all the info ONLINE! I honestly only used 1 book! The rest SparkNotes online! Midterm & final are online but do include essays.

She was great! She made her lessons very understandable and somewhat fun. She doesn't give a lot of tests just a few easy quizzes. Also her midterm and final were take home essay questions. I learned a lot in this class and actually enjoyed going to class. She is a great professor!!

I took this class via the web and truly enjoyed its material. Mythology can be a hard area to understand, but her online lectures summed up the material nicely. There are alot of required books, and I used them all. Correspondence was fast and efficient. Had my questions/concerns answered in a timely manner. Great teacher!

I took Mrs. Dann's HUM111 class and loved it! HUM is definitely not one of my stronger subjects, but she made it interesting enough to keep my attention and learn the material. Very nice Professor and I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

Took Hum222 online and it is a work at your own pace class which was good for me. There are 10 quizes worth 10 points each, study questions worth a total of 100 points and 2 exams worth 100 points each. None of the exams are take home and they are only 6 essay questions, so make sure you know all the character names.

I took HUM222 online and let me tell you this professor is awesome. She really knows her stuff. It wasn't boring and she definitely made it interesting. Textbooks aren't used; instead she uses books so we can read the stories. I used spark notes on most of the stories. Definitely take her if you are taking HUM222.

Judith Dann does a really great job communicating with this class being on-line. She is prompt and to the point. Her tests are essay in nature and can be a bit challenging. Everything else is a breeze. She knows her stuff!

Dr. Dann is GREAT! I went into this class dreading it. by the time I left I was sad it was over. Taking her Myth222 next qtr. highly recomended!!! She will change your view of Humanities.

One of the best instructors i have ever had...while not easy, i really felt that i learned a lot...tests are essay, and require you to really know the material...but totally worth it...communications were clear and often humorous! can't recommend her enough!

Web class: Fairly easy, and her lectures/reading discussions make the material interesting and memorable. I recommend combining her summaries with Sparknotes to complete the very helpful study guides she provides. My only gripe is that there was an issue with links working and it took quite a while to be resolved.

I had her for my online classical mythology class. The class was easy, and I really enjoyed the lectures. She did, from time to time, forget to upload an assignment. However, when she did so she would give you extra time to complete it.

I took the class online, which allowed me to cheat on the quizzes. It is very easy to get 10/10 when you have her lecture notes, reading discussion and google/wikipedia at your expense. To prepare for the tests, I used sparknotes summaries to memorize the stories. I didn't even purchase the 7 books required for the class and I got a 97%..so easy

Her lecture notes and slide shows provided modern parallels of the material as well as historical impact. She engaged the students on the boards and as long as you read her lectures, you will pass her quizzes and tests: no surprises. Tests are essays (I prefer). You do yourself a disservice by not reading the original works, they're fascinating!

I found her to be excellent. She was passionate about the subject matter and welcomed comments and questions from students. She was lenient about assignments, and seemed to really care about the students. Feedback from students was welcomed and she was willing to make changes to accommodate students. I genuinely enjoyed taking this class.

This class was a lot of fun. Dr. Dann is very enthusiastic about the subject. There was homework due almost every class, but it wasn't hard. Quizzes and Exams were straight forward and sometimes open note.

Most reading was primary sources she put on black board, couple homework questions but are graded for completion so theyre nothing but a grade booster really, you'd have to TRY to get a low grade in her class! Very knowledgeable, helpful, and sweet. i hate history , but i might even take her rome class as an elective because she's that great!

My absolute favorite teacher I've ever had! She made this class so fun! It was easy with quizzes once a week over what we'd just learned and a few exams. She was helpful with whatever you needed and showed movie clips often. She was very fun. I think I used my textbook once and she even told us we didn't really need it.

She is very enthusiastic about Mythology! I took it online and it was fairly easy. We had weekly reading assignments which she produced a few journal questions, a discussion board questions, and a 10 question quiz. The tests were essay form and only about 6 questions, but were hard in the sense that you have to know direct quotes. She was awesome!

Judith is VERY passionate about mythology, as you will be able to tell from her lectures and notes. This course was pretty easy and you do NOT have to read or buy the books. I just went off spark notes and google searches and was fine. The class fulfills a literature and global studies requirement at OSU too so take this easy course at CSCC!

Class wasn't super difficult, just do the assigned work every week and you should be able to pass. The midterm and final essays are a little rough. She is a strict grader. A LOT of assigned reading, but you can spark note a lot of stuff. A lot of greek names to know and remember which can be hard. Some stories are interesting and some are hard.

best teacher i have. If you have problem u can ask for help. if u need more time on quiz u can ask. everything is online.

Amazing! She's engaging and has a very casual, entertaining way of explaining the subject matter. There were a few readings to do before every class, but the responses were simple enough. She's worked in the field, so she's sure to be passionate about whatever she teaches. I only wish she taught more classes; she could make any subject fun.

Professor Dann is very energetic and she loves history. Her lectures are fun and are usually as lively as she is. She is sometimes a few minutes late for class, but she always makes time to hear her students input and will stay as long as you need for help. She does not use the textbook at all, so don't buy it. Lots of Blackboard reading instead.

Dr Dann is fantastic! I like Greek history so that helped, but she is so funny and easy going, and she clearly knows and loves her subject matter. A lot of work in this class, but nothing too difficult. I would definitely recommend any class she is teaching.

Dr. Dann is fantastic. It's obvious that she lives for what she teaches, and her enthusiasm is infectious. If you're trying to get that cultural gen ed out of the way, take her, and you'll actually enjoy it a ton.

Great professor, very passionate about the subject matter. I had her for both Greek Civ. and Roman Civ, and she made the courses very interesting to learn about. I would definitely recommend these classes with this professor. There are usually reading assignments, but they're typically very easy/can be completed quickly.

Judith Dann is by far one of the best professors I've had at Cstate. The work load is not bad, a paper, quizzes, and easy homework questions due each class. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the material. 10/10 would take the class again. If you are non-religious the latter lessons may drag on a bit.

If only all my classes could be taught by Judith Dann. Her class opened my eyes and changed my life. I highly, HIGHLY recommend any of her classes.

Professor Dann is the best! Her passion for history is contagious and her love of history makes all her lectures amazing. Her class has opened my eyes to not only how our society is based on Roman tradition, but also why it's important to understand. The content can be difficult, but there are a lot of extra credit opportunities.

If you have the ability to take her class, DO IT!She is such a great professor. Honestly she has been the best professor that i have ever had. I enjoy her lectures because she is so enthusiastic about the subject. I am not someone who enjoys art or the classics but I have taken two classes of hers previously and they were my two favorite classes.

Her online class was comprehensive and straight-forward. There are weekly response questions and quizzes, but as long as you read online summaries of the stories you'll be fine. There are 3 exams where you have 2 short-response questions, 2 longer-response questions, and 2 quote identifications. She does gives you a study guide, though.

Online Greek Mythology class was an easy class if you've taken Greek Mythology in high school. Easy grader. Three tests in the testing center that are 6 essay questions.

Professor Dann is an amazing teacher. She lectures are very interesting. She is very organized. This class is an easy A if you do all the work and read her lecture notes. There is quiz every week, but if you have read lectures than it should not be hard. Some of the book you do even need to buy, as she provides the free course resources.

I love professor Dann!! Her lectures are so fun and the passion she has for her work really shines through to make her lectures more interesting. We take easy notes and have extra credit almost weekly. She doesn't even require a textbook! She does weekly mini quizzes but they're easy enough, just stay on top of the weekly reading she assigns.

Amazing, passionate professor loved this course and it's material. There was alot of reading however it was enjoyable for me. Lots to do every week journal, discussion board, and a quiz but it was manageable.

Never a dull moment in her lectures. You can tell she truly enjoys the subject matter and it really transfers into the class. There are a lot of readings to do but not difficult nor very long and if you are slightly interested in the subject than it should be a breeze. Attendance is required, her lectures are not bullet point PowerPoints.

One of the best professors I've had hands down. Class is easy, and she also does her absolute best to make it entertaining, which she does well. Just beware there is a lot of reading in the course, so just stay on top of both that and the quizzes.

I took her class on Greece last summer and Rome(this Spring). I plan to take her Mythology class this summer because she is just a great professor. I learn a lot in each class she teaches. The class is easy as long as you attend class, write good notes, ask questions when confused and complete the readings on time. Easy A and very fun class!

A gem of a prof. She really enjoyed mythology and it showed. She wanted her students to love it as much as she did, and was very clear about the artistic openness about her class. I hate mythology, but her feedback and excitement really got me fired up. Lenient grader, loves interpretation, a lot of fun to converse with.

Study the Greek and Romans under this professor if you have any fondness for ancient history. Her lectures are practically works of art in terms of the amount of insight they add to the source materials. She has personally performed archaeology in Greece, and incorporates photos from her travels into her lectures. A true gem.

I LOVE Dr. Dann! She is the most caring, kind, warm professor there is. Basically everybody's mom. I took her Greece Civ class and although I really hate history stuff, she made it worthwhile to go to class and listen to her. Easy assignments, easy "tests", just everything is great about her. Best professor there is at C-state. You won't regret it!

I took her Classical Mythology class online, but I wish I could've had her as a professor in person. The discussion board posts were always fun, the quizzes were simple and straightforward, and it was clear to see that she enjoyed teaching the material. I would highly recommend her class to anyone who is interested in it, or just needs the credit.

Top two of all time fav professors from me (4th semester). She LOVES what she does obviously, she knows so much about what shes talking about. She translates all readings making it much easier to understand and she LOVES extra credit. There are so many opportunities to get the grade you want. She made the class so interesting and fun.

If her class was any easier it would be illegal. This class was so much fun and so interesting but also just so so so easy. She gave me minimal stress the entire year.

She is truly amazing and I had a great time in her class. Theres multiple extra credit options throughout the semester. She gives you short readings and a journal entry, along with a small quiz every week. Theres 2 exams. She loves what she does and really cares! Highly recommend!

She is the sweetest lady ever! You can tell she actually enjoys teaching about mythology and although there was a lot to read at times, she updates the language of the text to make it understandable. The stories were good and the work wasnt too much to handle. So easy to talk to and is an amazing professor :)

Dr. Dann was an amazing teacher, probably the best I've had at CSCC. Her class was super easy and she had clear expectations and was lenient when it came to grading. She would also specify why you lost points and how to do better in the future. All the exams were a combination of essay questions, long answer, and short answer.

I took two classes with Dann and I wish she could teach every other class I take. She's obviously passionate about what she teaches and she's found a way to make classes fun and easy, but I still feel like I learned just as much from her as I do in harder classes (if not more). If you have any chance to take a class she teaches DO IT!!!

I don't think I've ever had a professor more passionate about their area of expertise than Professor Dann. Every lecture is brimming with enthusiasm about Ancient Greece, and she usually accompanies units with extra material like music and movie clips. I absolutely hate the fact that I could only take her classes in a web format. What a waste.

An absolute Angel, they don’t have it for her Latin class is absolutely a delight even despite it being a bit course heavy she is more than willing to help you. Her personality keeps you going, even when I struggled with the work her personality kept me from wanting to disappoint her. Extra credit given liberally!

Her course was well-structured, and the grading criteria on assignments and exams was very clear. She provides the readings for free, and her video lectures are clear and were a great supplement for when I didn't quite understand parts of the readings. She is passionate about the material which made it easy to stay engaged for the whole semester.

Professor Dann is a very nice and caring professor and is passionate about what she teaches. That being said, I really did not enjoy her class. She is disorganized and forgets to post things on BlackBoard. She actually forgot that she needed to go over 2 chapters at the end of the semester. We had to cover this during finals week.

Completing weekly lectures/assignments usually took me 1.5 hours to 3 hours depending on the week. I highly recommend this class, or even any class, with her.

Mrs. Dann is a great professor! Lectures were helpful and informational. Enjoyed learning about Rome way more than I thought I would. There are 4 short 2-6 question journals along with a 10 question/pt quiz due weekly on Sunday's. The lectures aren't overwhelmingly long either, so just watch them and read the primary sources and you'll do great!

Lovely class and just a great person in general. You can tell she enjoys she enjoys what she does and teaches. In terms of the class, it's laid back and low pressure. Assignments are very light, midterms and finals are a breeze. If you enjoy Greek mythology then this class will be a blast. Would recommend 100!!!

Took this class over summer, and it was easy. A handful of journals and one quiz due at the end of the week. I didn't take more than an hour on this class per week. The midterm and final are essays, and she grades really easily. Take any class she teaches for an easy A--they are all set up the same.
