please. only take this class if you LOVE dance. i hate dance so it succccked. I got an A, but the class is a dragggg. Dance girls are not hott!!!, dont waste your time. if you love dance shes good. ONLY only memorize her notes for purchase to get an A, and know the videos by heart.

Judith is an amazing instructor who is very passionate about what she does. If you attend her class everyday and make the effort to improve, you'll get an "A!" She's extremely helpful and understanding to beginning students and makes dance fun for all! Do take her! She's one of the best!

Easy 'A'just show up ON TIME or she'll kick you out. You have to go to dance concerts and write ridiculously easy papers on them. You watch movies of various ballets which are part of the tests and final.

I was not interested in the subject when I came into the class, but I did learn a lot from it. You will be exposed to actual ballet dance recitals from the world's top ballet companies. I loved that experience. The class, however, is not very trying as it IS an easy A.

Bought the book and only read chapters for first test. The book is redundant to her notes. She is horrible with grading in a decent amount of time, but she is also extremely passionate about the subject. Do all assignments and study for test from her notes.

Very fair, helpful, cheerful and passionate. She has no atomosphere of prejudice against students in color. I'll tell you, some professors do(I'm asian by the way). If you attend the class, you will do well in the exam. That lady is so cute.

This class is a very easy A. I didn't have any interest in dance beforehand and actually ended up with a lot of information that kept me interested during the semester. She is a very nice woman who teaches about dance but also about life. Take her. You absolutely will not regret it. And you'll even learn!

This is the easiest class that I've ever taken while I have studied in US. I usually never hear the prof's lecture, except this one. Show to the class to listen to her lecture and to watch video, do the paper for the concert, and do the extra credit one which is worth 10 points (which really helps). Seems to be very condescending at first. Chills out later. She says "I am friendly but I'm not your friend". Shows lots of videos. Buy her notes-$5. All the info for test on notes. Test are easy, simple. Follow the essay structure provided in notes. Easy class to pass. Teaches awesome life lessons through dance.

She has an enthusiasm for dance that is refreshing and exciting. Even if you don't like dance, she will somehow make you feel like you do. That's rare in teaching. She is very worldly and seems to love life.

So smiley and enthusiastic! Shows lots of videos, 4 tests, 1 video essay, and 2 performances that you have to see and then write about. Very easy grader, plus gives extra credit. I have a 103 average. You have to go to class but she sometimes doesn't take attendance. Easy A class with such a nice teacher.

Great and inspiring teacher! Although she repeats herself often, I understand why (for those who don't necessarily enjoy dance as a subject) but if you love and appreciate dance as much as I do, her class should be a breeze. I got an A and I didn't even really have to work for it, I just paid attention in class and turned in my assignments.

She's super passionate about dance. The issue is that there's a ton of kids who are only in the class for GE Credit and they give her a hard time. She stops in the middle of class to tell people they're being distracting when nobody but she has noticed. She's psycho about people coming in late. This class is just too big of a headache.

I took her for Dance 5 scholars. Douglas is very Chill and laidback!! Scary on day 1 then calms down and loves all her students. You learn dance and many beneficial life lessons along the wayy. Easy scholars class and Easy A! Don't need the red book, just study her class notes thoroughly and you'll do fine. Extra credit available as well!Fun course

Dance is not an easy or interesting topic to me. So I'd fall asleep in class often. Classroom is like a large plush theater room with cozy seats. 3 page paper on each of the two separate performances at Broad Stage. Did average on her exams. But the extra credit assignment that I turned in worked favorably and I got an A.

Douglas is the best! She's a great professor. She always tries to make things easier for the students. She is so inspiring and passionate. One of the best classes I've ever taken. If you're always in class you'll most definitely get an A.

Still taking Douglas's Dance 2 class and IT'S SO MUCH FUN! We watch a lot of videos and it doesn't feel like learning but when you leave class you notice how much you've actually learned! And no, this is not an actual dance class... a lot of people on my class thought it was an actual dance class :D TAKE DOUGLAS! I love her

Incredible, amazing, very sweet and upfront teacher. She repeats herself a lot but overall she is a fun professor and her class is actually interesting. She comes off as intimidating on the very first day of class but she actually was very easy, fair and her tests were a piece of cake. TAKE HER! she is awesome! Easy A!

She's super fun and sweet. She absolutely loves dance! 2 dance shows that are mandatory attendance along with a 2pg paper (super easy). Approx 3-4 exams and she does review sessions so you know exactly what'll be on it. She's a no BS type of professor but she's enthusiastic about her subject. I def. recommend her if you need this course! =)

unorganized. shows dance movies that are never qued up and they skip, bad sound quality. 4 multchoice tests (including final), 2 papers on smc dance performances, must attend! (2-3 pages), very nice lively lady who really loves dance. do not show up late! if she doesnt have time 2 cover material, she'll take it off the test!! doesnt stay on sched.

Affordable notes. Great teacher, passionate, and experienced. I guess that explains why she's also the director of the dance department huh? Very classy, and professional. Just Show up everyday, take notes, watch the videos, try to show interest and you should get an A with VERY light studying. Requires 2 performances. Extra Credit opportunities.

very easy class. two test and one final. book use is very minimal, but some questions on the exam come from the book so just try to split the book with someone else. she offers extra credit. there are two papers that are very easy and she grades somewhat leniently you can only miss three classes before it affects your grade class is a little boring

Wow! She's a very charming teacher...with a great presence. From day one I knew it would be a great class. However, if you're not one to appreciate dance and have an open mind you may want to take a different class, fortunately for me, I love dance and respect all types of it! Fun class, ample videos, informative lectures, and flexible tests.

You have to care so little about going to class if you can't pass with an A. It's that easy, and Douglas even admits it herself! Watch videos, watch two shows and write a small paper on them, and take 3 tests. TOO EASY!!! DOUGLAS ROCKS!!

One of the teachers that I will never forget..teaches with such enthusiasm which makes you want to go to class. Definitely not a class where you can slack off, if you just study her notes your guaranteed an A. And do the 2 dance critiques (guaranteed a 100% on those too, she doesn't even read those)

Being a dancer of 13 years, i was really exited for this class. Some moments the class is really interesting and some really dull. But she's really enthusiastic and it's nice to have a passionate teacher for once. However, she's not so quick on grading (can't really blame her) but she's also late... she was 10 late to the final. This class is kind of boring, but it is an easy A. Two easy assignments where you have to review dance performances, and four exams. Just study a little bit before each exam and do the extra credit and the A is yours. The professor is cool and is passionate about the subject as well.

Such a great teacher. Textbook not necessary as her notes are really straightforward and to the point. Do the extra credit and get a 101% like me! Performances were fun and tests are easy if you study her notes. highly recommend Douglas is the best

Professor Douglas is one of the most charismatic educators I have ever met. She really wants her students to pass, and lays out all the ways to ace the class. Tests are easy, and the dance performances you need to critique are unique. Definitely take this class if you have the opportunity!

She has you do movements and repeat sayings that help you remember the material (not in front of the class by yourself so don't worry). She is a must take.

Douglas is really funny and the class is actually pretty interesting. This class was also an easy A, just show up and attend 2 dance performances and write a short paper on each. She plays a lot of musical theater videos. If you have a heavy course load this class is doable.

The best professor. Must show up to get 100% on credit. She will tell you there are 'daily quizzes' you answer some questions and turn it in to her and that is your attendance card, she doesn't actually grade it. Very passionate about dance, easy A.

Prof Douglas is the most adorable woman ever. You can tell she is really passionate about dance, it shows through her teaching. You have to go to two performances and write 2 pg essay on both. Tix were about $25 per show. No actual textbook just her notes which are $5 at the bookstore. You will have fun in this class and its super easy.

She is a really caring professor that trully loves her job and she shows it. Her biggest pet peve is people sitting in the back of the classroom and talking to their friends. You learn A LOT of information in her class and she makes learning fun. Only thing that sucks is paying $50 to see 2 dance shows made by students.

Prof. Douglas is a must take. She is very passionate about dance, but is understanding if you aren't. This is an easy A, but fun class that acts as a relief from other classes. She is very funny and uses humor in her lectures. She is a strong woman that has been through a lot, but has wisdom to offer on life. Highly recommend.

As a student graduating from UCLA this year, this class was so easy for me. As long as you pay attention in class, half of the time studying for the tests will truly be cut in half. I read over the notes about 45 minutes every day after class, or the day after and I got an A. Write the papers, follow the format, and you will get an A.

Dance5 consists of daily quize (worth 4 p.) counts as attendance. The lecture is very heavy and boring if you dont enjoy dance. The test are so difficult you genuinely need to study in order to pass the class. She is very passionate about what she does, show that you care and get help from her outside of class. Mandatory to go watch 2 dance shows

LOVE THIS CLASS! okay so there are two quizzes every week (2 q's per quiz) about the lectures but they're SO EASY just make sure to pay attention during them. I'm currently taking the class rn but I have a B+, almost an A. One negative thing is that if you don't do good on one quiz, that can drop your grade a whole lot! Overall recommend! Take her!
