she is really easy, she makes it seem like elementary school math it's so easy!!
Easy tests, accepts late homework, very helpful, but VERY BORING
definitely appropriate for teaching this course.. sometimes, it's just TOO easy!
really nice and understanding...makes class fly by...easy tests
Awesome and FUN teacher!! Makes MATH so much fun!!
SO BORING
No Comments
Very enthusiastic! Easy Tests! Great teacher! Lets you correct tests!
Awesome teacher, She makes everything fun and easy, godd tests
She's so hyper and happy! Great teacher! But you have to prepare yourself.
Wish I had that much energy! Easy class and tests!
really fun and easy, lets u hand in homework late, never lets u out early
LOVED HER ! soo helpful... moves slowly and easy to understand material
Extremely easy A, turn in homework late, easy tests, very helpful, extra credit, but if math is easy to you, this class is SOOOOO slow and BORING!!!! Bring things to do during class!
Easiest class in the world
so easy, makes everything easy to understand, easy A
She is the best math teacher ever! She makes everything so easy to understand. She's a little hyperactive sometimes but it's funny. If you have to take this class, take it with her. Its an easy A!
HORRIBLE torture to sit through, treats us as if we are unintelligent and have never taken a math course befor in our life. very easy going but to sit through her classes are awful. she is spaztic and always asks 'where's the math', annoying
sooooooo understanding, never lets you our early, makes sure you know everything before the test, but she takes off every little point on every test!....but and awseome person and teacher! take her!
Seems really easy, but takes the dumbest points off on tests. I don't think she likes me. She treats us like we are in kindergarten again. It's torture to sit through. She can be funny, but I'd rather have someone else.
SOOOOO boring. seems easy but she will take off points for ANYTHING on tests. really thorough and helpful. shes so hyperactive. NEVER lets you out even a minute early. good teacher, but i still wouldn't recomend it.
great teacher, material is easy but that is because it teaches you how to explain/break down math to elementary level kids, ms. macks has a ton of energy and she's the best teacher for this class, really nice woman
she is an awesome teacher and great for those who want to teach. she is a little repetative but a great teacher!
Macks was so energetic and helpful. Her class is easy, but it is long. She repeats a lot of stuff in different ways so that everyone understands. you learn a lot about how to teach without her directly saying it. she is awesome and i dunno where she gets the energy.
Awesome teaching methods, repetative at times....Easy A
she's really nice and she makes the class easy. it gets boring at times because you learn how to add and subtract fractions. she's really lenient on homework and everything. this is an easy A, take her if you can. she's funny in class too.
This lady is crazy! She treats you like you're back in elementary school. We spent 2 1/2 weeks on something that should only have taken 2 classes. She really bores me a lot, but she takes attendance, so it's not like you can just skip out on the class. It's really easy as long as you do your assignments, but just make sure you have something to keep your mind occupied during class.
Easy class. Homework every night but do it cause it brings up your grade. You go over the homework then hand it in. She grades tests alittle hard but you can correct your tests and gain extra points. Class is long and boring but it is worth it for the grade.
This lady is adorable. She can be very crazy. Her class is super easy, test are a little hard, but you can revise your test once you get it back. Do all your homework and any extra credit she offers...it will help! Her class can be boring at times...but thats b/c its almost 2 hours long. I defiantly recommend!
so, she treats you like you in kindergarten, but its a really easy class. Pretty much a garunteed A but sometimes you think it would be better to just get a B and not goto class b/c its boring
She is an awesome lady! she remind me of my grandmother she is always so excited, which because i have a 9am class, she helps me wake up.. she explains everything to you like your a little kid so it is easy on the tests and homework. do your work, pay attention and ask questions and you will get an A + take this class!
She's nice, easy, but boring. Because the class was so easy, how boring she was DID NOT matter. I ate snacks throughout class to keep me focused! EASY A, and that's all that matters.
she is the craziest teacher ever, but so easy. she teaches you like your in kindergarten which isnt a bad thing. i learned everything because she explained it into so my depth, definatly reccomend her if you bad in math or if you just want an easy, CRAZY teacher
SOOOO EASY! We learned things that I had mastered in the first grade. You basically learn what you will be teaching elementary schoolers. Mrs. Macks is very nice(and dramatic) but do bring something to keep you occupied in that class.
Sweet woman and great teacher! Very dramatic and kind of boring! She will keep you the entire class and never cancels class. Attendence is madatory but bring other work to do b/c you are going to be SOOO bored! homework every class from the book and a problem of the week each week.
Mrs Macks is approaching senility and is an irrational grader, giving no basis or rubric to justify her scoring. If you're taking this class, it's prob a requirement; just bare with her and make sure you can occupy yourself during her redundant, mindless, three-hour class.
Extremely clear and very energetic. This subject is really mundane, but she brings out the best of it. She is truly an incredible teacher who exposes you to the way your mind works. she is an excellent asset if you want to become a teacher. also, the homework is short and easy and the tests arent bad either.
Great teacher!! Very energetic about teaching. Passionate about the subject. Presents material in an understandable way. Not much work, homework every night but very easy. Tests are very easy also. Incredibly nice woman, and very helpful. Very accessible if needed.
She was great! She explained everything so well. It was mainly a refresher course of stuff you learn in elementary and middle school but it was really helpful and Ms. Macks was great! Shes so nice and you can tell she loves teaching! She lets you do test corrections for every test to bring up your grade! Shes AMAZING!
The best teacher ever. She is very enthusiastic and makes class fun. She makes sure everyone understands the content and is willing to help you out i you're having trouble. I would definitely recommend her.
I loved her! Shes the most helpful teacher I have ever had. I wish she was my math teacher for every math class i ever had to take. she was so heeeeeelpful
Mrs Macks is super sweet, but if you are already good at math, the class moves really slowly and its not terribly interesting. She definitely wants to make sure all of her students understand the material and does lots of review. Homework is easy and you have a week to do it. You can do test corrections too. Good class, even though I was bored.
Mrs. Macks is awesome!!! The class is super easy because it is based on elementary school math. We basically learned how to add, so it's not hard to get an A in this course. Mrs. Macks is very clear and wants all of her students to succeed and understand. She gives a fair amount of homework and her tests are straight-forward. Take her!
Super nice and easy! Very good to work with :)
She is very very nice
Professor Macks is a very enthusiastic professor that helps keep you interested. The course itself is fairly easy and all of the math is pretty basic. She gives homework assignments regularly and you have two tests along with a final exam. While she does expect regular attendance, she is very understanding if you miss class.
BORING. Can be a nice & understanding person, but gradually began to single me out over the course of the semester & call me out in front of the class. Takes the most ridiculous points off for tests/assignments. Way too many assignments given (we do have other classes ya know). Don't see myself having any use for any of the material she taught.
Awesome teacher. Exaplaines evertyhing well and makes sure you learn everything. Plus her tests are reeaallly easy
Her class is super easy but super boring. She tries to make the subject as exciting as she can but we learn basic math skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. She is a little bit spastic but she is on of the sweetest teachers I've had. She gave us cookies like 3 times during the semester so I think she's pretty great!
She is such a sweet lady! Super enthusiastic and wants you to do your best. She is always available for extra help and offers test corrections. Although the class can be boring at times, its really easy and she tries to make it as interesting as she can. Love this woman.
She's very cute and sweet, always willing to help. However, she does not like to waiste time. Expect to be in class the entire hour and 50 min. It's an easy class, it just goes by slow because it's elementary school math that you feel like you could practically sleep through and still pass.
I loved Professor Macks! She is such a sweet, "seasoned' lady! She made re-learning elementary school math fun! Her class was two hours long, so participation in discussionsgroup activities made the time go by much faster! She often brought candy for us! :) love, Love, LOVE her! You will not be let down by taking her class!
Professor Macks is a great professor. The lectures typically consisted of reviewing questions from the homework and learning the new material. There were only a few tests and her expectations were very clear, making it easy to get a good grade in the class. She helps everyone understand the material, which can make the pace a little slow at times.
I'll miss this class, was really sad that she doesn't teach 205. At first, I found the class a bit difficult because I got a 70 something on the first test (read directions fully!!!!) but I was easily able to move on and get an A. She's there for you and flexible with office hours. She also gives out cookies and candy- very sweet and smart woman!
I went into this class thinking i hated it from the start. I already hated math and she assigned homework on the first day when we barely talked about the course. However, even though there is a lot of homework, its really not bad. She is awesome, fun, cute, sweet, and is SO understanding! 100% take math her. She will never make you feel stupid.
SO much work due every class. Homework graded for accuracy. Even if you don't fully explain one thing she takes points off rarely get full credit on any homework assignment. You will never get let out of class even one minute early.
very sweet lady. youll learn a lot and understand the material BUT your whole grade is dependent on hw and tests. that sounds easy but the hw is only 4 points and very long.. youll probably get at least a point off. her tests are the same way.. very long and specific and if you dont read carefully youll get a lot of points off.
I genuinely stand for the fact that this professor cannot teach, and should not be teaching at her skill level. If you have this professor, please switch. The class is very test heavy yet the material is legitimately barely taught in class as it is difficult to understand her concepts and weak style of teaching. Very weak and poor teaching skills.
Professor Macks made me love Math class. I had her at 8am in the morning and she still found the energy to run around the classroom to keep everything moving. She allowed test corrections and even allows some extra time on her exams. She does give out a lot of homework though. Definitely going to miss Professor Macks!!
Professor Macks is such a sweetheart! She is a great teacher who is passionate about what she does.
The best math teacher I have ever had (even if the class is just learning the basics)!! This lady is awesome, the class can be long and she will take up until her last second to teach but she is very experienced. Very passionate about education and is easily accessible outside of class.
An overall amazing teacher and one of the best teachers I have taken in my pre-professional career. She not only makes math fun but also shows students how they can better their knowledge of teaching math. Goes over homework assignments every class and makes sure every student gets their questions answered so they are confident in what they turn in
You do get a lot of homework but it is very doable. She gives you a week per assignment. Every test you get the option of doing corrections. She has fun lectures and she is an amazing teacher! I am not very good at math but she made it understandable and easy.
Ms. Macks is a nice lady but I do believe her time is up teaching college students. She seems to forget a lot of material in class but compared to other math 204 teachers she is the best. She however needs to think of more methods other than chalk to the board.
I loved Professor Macks. She lectures a lot but always keeps the class engaged and makes you laugh. Super sweet lady, very understanding, and always willing to answer questions until you fully understand the topic. I highly recommend her class!
Professor Macks is such a sweet lady and an amazing professor. The content in the class is easy (simple elementary math) and assignments reflect what will be on the tests. She goes over homework every class and wants her students to ask questions. She gives extra credit opportunities and allows you to make changes on your tests. Take her for sure!
Professor macks was one of the best math teachers. I hate math and I enjoyed her class. She's so cute and funny. Classes are taught at a fun pace & interesting ways of teaching. 4 Quizzes throughout the semester, homework due every class (they aren't hard or long), cumulative final, no midterm, and she cares about her students understanding.
The class was easy, given that its elementary math, however the class goes by slowly and drags on. Youll focus on the warm up for half the class. She was super kind and funny, you can tell she cared, but it could be hard to stay awake and focused. Almost everyone in class left at some point to go to the bathroom for a change of pace.
Professor Macks is a professor you want to have during your college experience. She made class very entertaining and taught the concepts well; you can tell that she truly cares about what she's teaching. She is always available to help outside of class, and encourages people to ask questions. This class is homework and lecture heavy.
I hate math. But Professor Macks made math more fun, since it is about teaching elementary schoolers. She is so nice, funny, and cares about her students. She makes sure we understand the material, and welcomes questions. She definitely prepares us to teach kids. The classes are long, but it's not too bad.
During the pandemic, she was very accommodating and considerate. She still was very engaged in teaching, and cared about our progress as well as concerns. The content is elementary school math, so it's pretty easy. She makes it more fun, and really helps us think like teachers working with kids.
I have never been spoken to in such a condescending way before. You will be treated like the children you are being taught to teach. Homework she writes is written in the weirdest way that it makes you feel dumb for not understand elementary school math. She's nice and all, just treats you like you're 5. 4 points for 20 question HWs.
4 points for 20 question homeworks and she just picks a random problem to grade. Spends the majority of class on the To Do Now. She treats you like an elementary schooler, teaches you like you're in elementary school as opposed to explaining the teachings of elementary school as if you were an adult (which you are)
Demands simple answers from you because when you enter the class, you turn into a child apparently. DoNt JuSt SiT tHeRe AnSwEr Me will be heard 1,000 times in a 2 hour period. This isn't a class where you are taught how to teach children; this is a class where you are taught as if you are a child. Do not take this professor if you can help it.
Mrs. Macks is real nice don't get me wrong, but this class was just not for me. 4 points for homework and she picks the questions she wants to grade. One time I had got all the questions right that she choose to grade but got a 3 out of 4.. with no explanation as to why I got that grade. She teaches very mundane and can go on for an hr on 1 problem
Very sweet lady, but class can be very boring. She talked to us like we were children which is very irritating and would give us homework with so many questions but she chooses 4 of those questions to grade so if you even get one wrong, you're screwed. I wouldnt take her again but if its your only option you will be fine she isnt the worst.
She was a particular grader and deducted points for minor things. She was easy to talk to and responded to emails in a timely manner.
sweetest woman ever. however, her grading be a lil whack (not alot of feedback, need 2 go to office) . come to class and you'll do fine. lots of easy hw but it can pile up fast and be super overwhelming. makes u feel respected for going into the education field. She is quite quirky so be silly with her and the 2 hr class will be more enjoyable.
I see a lot of negative feedback about Prof Macks. I absolutely loved her and thought her class was amazing. She really knew how to teach and wanted us to learn the material. She understood that we were future educators and taught us like such. Homework every night but not hard. Four unit quizzes. Always responds quickly to emails. Highly recommend
Professor Macks is super nice and loves to joke around. The way she explains things makes a lot of sense and she is great at encouraging you to be in the education field. I like how she teaches us how to teach our future students. Keep up with homework and review for quizzes but, the content is overall pretty easy. Textbook is annoying tho- $$
Professor Macks is amazing! Most of the math is very easy, you learn the different types of ways to solve elementary school math. She is very enthusiastic during class, which makes it very fun. 2 hw's a week which are out of 4 points. You gotta buy the textbook to do hw. She's very caring and understanding, I would 100% take her again if I could.
Mrs. Macks was so amazing! She teaches the class just how you need to teach to your future students. So caring and kind, ask for help and she will drop everything to answer an email.
Avoid her if you can. Very nice and helpful lady but made class so boring. Talked to us like we were 5 and would literally take an hour to go over one problem. Lots of homework questions that were only worth 4 points and she would pick random questions to grade. Would take off points for unnecessary things.
She is a sweet lady at the end of the day. Look over your test or homework grades, because I had to talk to her and be like this answer is correct and she will almost always change it (if it is correct). She does have test corrections if you didn't get a good grade, but for every point you missed she gives you a 1/4 point.
Professor Macks is a super sweet women. She genuinely cares about her students and explains things well. Shes a little old fashioned and uses the overhead projector/chalk board but I didn't mind. There is a lot of homework that can sometimes be tedious but she accepts late work and allows quiz corrections
The sweetest lady ever and genuinely cares about her students. Very hands-on and makes sure we understand before moving on. Homework each night but prepares you very well for the quizzes and is never very much. Provides really good feedback for how to improve and takes it seriously if someone doesn't understand.
You can tell that she wants everybody to succeed. But I did not like how she grades homework. She will randomly select 4 out of 15 questions and only grade those. If you get one question wrong, its pretty bad for your grade. Attendance and participation matters. She is helpful when you come to her with questions, definitely good at what she does!
I had Professor Macks for MATH204 and she was wonderful! The "only grades 4 questions on the homework" thing can be annoying, but she gives good feedback as to why she picked those specific 4. As far as the "condescending, talking to us like we're 5", that is how you are going to be teaching math to ELED level children. Would absolutely take again!
I loved her so much but be ready for lots of homework! She is so sweet, such an amazing caring professor! Dont miss class, it will harm you more than you think! Its easier listening to her than trying to figure it out on your own. Shes always available outside of class, emails quick too!!
Prof Macks is so kind and caring of her students. She assigns a decent amount of homework and doesn't fully understand BB, but she will literally accept all work all semester. She constantly offers to stay after class for students that don't understand and is consistently prompting the class to ask any questions.
She is a pretty good professor but she assigns a lot of homework but only grades 4 questions so if you get one wrong then you earn a 75% for the homework.
She's very sweet. But homework is 4 points and she would pick random questions so if you get one wrong it's already harmful to your grade. She talks to us like we're her kindergartens sometimes. This math class is very very easy that it's boring. She's very open and wants to help so she will be willing to find time to work with you if needed.
Doesn't write anything that's not in cursive tries to be funny and relatable but isn't
