Class is fairly easy if you go to class and have a good group. She is VERY LIBERAL and makes that clear from her lectures.

Scott is a really cool teacher. The other comments are right though, I "plagerized" by not quoting myself on late speech which sent my A all the way to a C for my final grade. Just take your speech to her before it's due so she can look it over. She is hilarious!!! You actually wanted to go to class. The bood isn't really needed, take good notes

This Professor is definitely a tough one.she doesnt put up with any crap. If you forget to submit work to her, you get a zero on it, little things she'll get you on and she doesnt give exceptions EVER!! shes a very cool hilarious teacher. Way too easy-going in class, then grades really really hard. All exams online: 50 questions, worth FIVE POINTS!! I used the book once, because of an exam, but otherwise a waste of money. Really nice, really funny, completely willing to answer questions, just grades surprisingly hard.

This professor is an odd one. She is really outgoing and interesting. She makes tons of jokes but we NEVER use the book. Tests are worth a few points and speeches are worth about 40 points. She tells you to do the outline one way then another. I am close to failing because of this nonsense. Take a different teacher if you want a good grade.

Really great professor. She is strict on the grading but you should have no problem if you attend class and prepare for your presentations. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to take Comm 8. Never missed a day of class and lectures were always interesting.

I really enjoyed being in her class. Her lectures were fun, not too long, and she jokes around. There are 3 overall presentations that aren't too hard but the last presentation did scare me with the whole plagiarism thing but she is willing to check your outline before turning it in. You don't need the book and tests are only about 3 points m/c.

So funny! Interesting and will keep you entertained. Attendance is mandatory but the class requires little work and she makes your speeches as stressless as possible

This class is easy! She's sooo funny! It's easy to listen to her lectures. You gatta go to class. Dont miss more than 5 days! Take advantage of the fun extra credit.

I highly recommend. Her grading is fair (100 points total) and attendance is required or else point will be taken away (5 days takes off a letter grade). Just show up for 50 minutes 3 days a week! The speeches are easy. The last speech is also easy just have her check your outline prior to make sure no plagiarism! Really fun environment.

Professor Scott was one of my favorites. She makes class fun, has a great sense of humor, and always returns emails quickly. As long as you attend class, take notes, and pay attention you will be fine. Grading is off of a scale of 100 points, so every point matters.Highly recommend.

Takes plagiarism very seriously will fail you if there is any type of plagiarism on the last presentation we had to do, her lectures were ok quick pace she always joked and told stories while in class which made it fun and interesting, attendance mandatory she calls role and at the end extra cred points for zero absent

Teacher Scott is a really nice teacher. She makes classes really easy and interesting with her funny jokes. She is also very clear about what she expects from the students, which makes the material way easier to understand. I didn't even have to take the final, because of how good I did during the speeches. Just put some work on them.

This class is really easy. Make sure you have a great outline because she does grade those pretty hard but overall one of my easiest classes. Shes really funny too. Also take advantage of each extra credit opportunity they are fun anyways and be creative ;)

She's very funny. Makes class and lecture fun. Easy class if do your work, try not to procrastinate. You have 3 speeches. Once your speech is over you sit back and was other present. The final speech is simple too, she's very helpful. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. Grade is on a 100 point scale. You can only gain points or not get any at all. Take her.

Tests are difficult but online they are only worth 3 or 4 points, no big deal. The whole class is only worth 100 points. You only gain not lose. She's strict on layout of speech. All points add up!

I don't really understand why some people rated this professor negatively. The material was actually very easy and is willing to help you if it is needed. Make sure your citing skills are up to par and if not she is willing to correct you and gives you very valuable information in the rough draft. I HIGHLY recommend her!

Professor Scott was the best! I enjoyed her class very much because her class is so fun and has a positive environment. She LOVES to make people laugh. Her assignments are clear and straight forward. She's tough on grading your presentations but she's always there to proof-read before it's due. Overall an awesome class.

I love Professor Scott. I would definitely take another class with her. She is hilarious and loves candy crush lol. Great class the book is not necessary. She'll give you a handout with all the book notes and you just fill in the blanks (answers are in the class powerpoints). Midterm and final are super easy. Just have to give 3 speeches in class

OMG! She is the funniest professor ever. If I could have her as a professor again, I would. She was the my last class of the day and I swear I only showed up to class because she was hilarious. She makes you feel comfortable and she loves chihuahuas, if you have a chihuahua, she will want to see a picture!!! :)

Professor Scott one of the best professors I've had so far at Fresno State! She always had a "draft day" where you can ask for help before giving the speech. She always replies to your emails quickly, provides helpful feedback, and is hilarious! Make sure you attend class though, as participation does count towards your grade.

Prof Scott is one of the best professors ive ever had. This is definitely not high school. She treats her students as adults and not children. She really wants to help her students learn, but she is not willing to help those that dont want to be helped. Shes one of the best professors ive had at Fresno State. Her class is worth taking.

Judith is pretty clear as to what she wants from her students when it comes to the speeches. There are 3 of them and if you follow the rubric and does what she asks then you can do well on the speeches. 2 easy online tests and a final. I took the tablet class and speeches were in video form so if you get nervous, this is the way to go.

Judith is a very good professor. Her grading criteria is very clear. It's an easy A as long as you try and don't slack off. There's only 3 speeches but the first two are in video form. The last one is in person and she does grade hard on it. But she offered extra credit on that one. The only thing I didn't like was the online quizzes.

Ms. Scott is so welcoming and is such a happy soul! Time goes flying in her class. She is very understanding. I missed my final speech of the semester due to an emergency hospitalization that I underwent so she allowed me to give my final speech to her alone in her office along w/ my paper and put the final online for me. She's the BEST !

3 speeches total, 2 are video speeches & 1 is not. You have a group that you go up with every speech. Book was NOT used once. Have to do every speech in order to pass, just grades hard on the outlines but if you ask for help you will be fine. I'm a shy person &I passed with a B. Tests are a little hard but she offers extra credit that makes up.

You have 2 free abcences and once you miss 2 you get 10 points off every day you miss. 2 speeches are made in a video and one is infant of class. Lots of opportunities to do extra credit thought the semester. Her stories are very funny! Quizzes are online and when you have a quiz, you don't have class. Final is just grading someone else's speech.

Easy A. Show up and pass, lots of extra credit opportunities. 2 Speeches are on videos and 1 is infront of class with your group members, you are never alone.

3 chapter quizzes all online and not in class. 3-5 group projects/ individual. Plagiarism workshop required/grade. Very clear on what needs to be done. The final is a peer evaluations. Super easy A.

You only get 3 absences. Try your hardest in this class and you are guaranteed an A. Professor Scott is such a chill professor who cares about her students. She is very specific on what she wants, so do as she says! DO NOT PLAGIARIZE! She is very tough of plagiarism. You will fail class if you do so. Definitely recommend this professor.

Doesn't give much work, only did 3 video presentations, different topics. Does not have class every day, instead, you do mini-quizzes, which makes up for attendance. Final was a retake of a mini quiz.

Professor Scott was a very easy professor! You basically have to do 3 videos throughout the semester and the last video is your final which is a 8-10 minute video. Her class is 50 minutes long and she's pretty goofy. Would recommend!

Judith Scott is an amazing ally to her LGBTQ+ students and evidently loves her job. She's really funny too! She's super flexible. For Comm8 at least, it was super easy. Just a few videos or speeches and you're good to go! Take this class if you're looking for the easy A1 GE Breadth requirement to fill up!

People in this professor's reviews be complaining about how picky she is on her assignments- that's her JOB. Communications entails your body language, how you talk, and how everything is phrased. Anyone complaining about it must have forgotten they're taking a COMMUNICATIONS CLASS... if she's critiquing you she's doing her job. Thats the point!!!

Professor Scott has been my favorite professor so far! She is very understanding, always respectful, and very funny! Literally all you have to do is follow the clear requirements that she gives you and she'll even give you extra credit for just meeting them. As someone who is very shy, I loved this class!

100% recommend her class, 3 speeches through the whole semester, 6 quizzes. Make sure to attend every class, she grades on attendance. She grades hard because she wants things done a certain way, but if you watch the video and look at the outline example as well as the rubric you'll do perfectly fine. Make sure to turn things in on time too!

Super caring professor! I had over a 100% to end. 3 video speeches and 2 of them you do with a partner or group. Super super easy class, no tests, just weekly quizzes and a few speeches. She does grade heavily on attendance so try not to miss class! Would totally take from her again :)

Super Easy!! Only 3 videos class was online so we only had to show up in person to present our videos! There were chapter tests online but their essay just use the slides and doc she posts. Overall, she was super easy. Theres no final just a group rating.

This class was fairly easy if you do the work. You have to read the directions clearly because they are not always stated in class. I did not read it correctly once and I got a 0 on the assignment for not turning in part of the assignment since it was was stated in class.

LITERALLY AMAZING, doing the bare minimum easily gets you over 100% in the class. Majority of the class is asynch or on zoom, and you only have to go in person to present. She's soo helpful and responds to emails very fast, can be a bit hard of a grader but throws you extra credit if you just follow the rubric. 10/10 I love her

Professor Scott is a tough but fair grader. While assignments can be challenging, engaging with the material and using resources like unstuckstudy for study prep can really help. Overall, a rewarding class if you're willing to put in the work.
