She is a good lecturer, but her exams are extremely hard. She expects you to memorize 80 pages of notes, she askes you dumb questions, not the important facts that you studied. Also, she does not have any extra credit, so your grade is your grade.I feel like I am always studying for her pop quizzes.
Oh my goodness I love Dr. T!! She knows what she's doin and she loves to wait for everyone to come to class! And jokes? Holy cow are they hilarious! If she taught another class I would take it! Failing? Who cares, it's DR T!!!!
Dr. Tamburlin is one of my favorite professors. Her lecture seems to go by so quickly unlike most classes. She jokes around and makes the class interesting. Her tests and quizzes are tough but definitely passable if you study!
Interesting class, she's a good teacher and will help you if you need it.. exams are HARD, i studied for 19 hours (throughout the week) to get an A. and watch out for pop quizzes in lab..

She's a very good professor. Makes learning fun. She invites her husband who's a doctor, to speak at some of the lectures. When the two of them interact, it's HILARIOUS. I highly recommend Dr. Tamburlin. Her lecture notes are so good, that you won't even need to touch your textbook.
i really like dr. t, she's very nice. she doesn't go too fast with the notes. lab is boring though. it definitely helped that i took anatomy in high school.
dr. t is an awesome prof, she is very nice and very helpful, all you have to do is ask. the class itself is not the easiest, but, just do the work and dont fall behind and you'll be alright. all the test questions come directly from the notes in class, so review those every night just to make sure u understand them
She is a very good teacher. Always tells us up front what we need to know for the exam, and the exams are very fair. I've learned so much from her. Plus she is interesting. Anatomy isn't easy but if you study, you can get an A
nicest teacher ever. you must study every night in order to keep on top of the work but tests are easy and fair..just as long as you study. lab is helpful to understand concepts that are difficult to just learn from reading the notes. go to class..it will pay off. if you study you will get an A
SHE IS DA BOMB!!! Does excellent notes to follow, but u gotta study, cuz her tests are no joke.
The tests aren't hard, but the course needs to be structured better. Each exam covers a LOT of material, about 80% of course material gets excluded. I wouldn't mind 1 or 2 more exams so each exam covers less material. Requires pure memorization. No curve policy, but if you talk to her and get to know her, she gives you a little boost.
best professor ever..50 min lectures and time goes by fast. the notes are awesome go to lecture and take notes and studyyy MEMORIZATION is key. lab is fun too..somtimes long and drawn out but u get to touch human brains and spinal cords and look at real hearts and stuff. all the TA's are great. totally reccomend this course with this professor!!!!
She is a very good teacher, not always helpful when you email her with questions though. The class has a lot of material, but exams are based on lectures, which are easy to understand.
She tackles a course that is very difficult to teach and learn with relative ease, and is an extremely nice person. She's always very helpful because she knows the subject matter is very difficult.
Dr.T is a great professor! She makes learning about the names of bones, muscles, etc., fun and somewhat easy. A lot of study required for this course, but the material isn't extremely difficult. Tests aren't too hard as long as you start studying well in advance, but the quizzes in lab are hard and too frequent. I'd definitely recommend her, though
I loved this class! Dr. Tamburlin is very helpful and easy to understand. The lectures fly by and are very interesting. You hardly use the book, everything you need to know is in the notes. My favorite teacher by far.
she is very good and very helpful....
Professor Tamburlin is a great teacher. The material isn't the easiest but if you study you'll get an A. Everything you need to know is in the notes but you need to attend classes cause she tells you exactly what will and will not be on the exam. I got an A in this class and if you study so can you.
She is an amazing teacher! I wish I could have her again. Even if you don't need anatomy, take it because it is one of the most worthwhile classes ever. Extremely interesting. Loved it!!! The work is hard and you really have to study, but it pays off immensely.

Dr. Tamburlin is the kindest lady on the planet, she wants her students to do well because she knows they could be taking care of her some day! On holidays she dresses up and makes class fun. She gives out extra credit, there are 3 exams, and she takes the best 5/8 quizzes. Easy but a lot of material. Amazing class.
Wonderful, wonderful lady! DO WELL ON QUIZZES, if u can do really well on quizzes that chunk gets + to your exam avg. Quizzes boosted my grade! Use diagrams. Knowing wher parts of an organ r help u remember pathways better w/o plain memorization. Remember, you're gonna need 2 know this stuff 4 life. Study well! =)
This is a great class! She is a great teacher-very nice and helpful. The class covers alot of material but if you study hard and attend class/lab you should do well.Quizzes are tricky dont underestimate them.Lab's helpful and TAs are very good. I recommend making flash cards for EVERYTHING in the notes prior to quizzes, they help come exam time too.
Prof Tamburlin is simply a great teacher. Her lecture notes are absolutely fantastic. Everything is clearly outlined with parts for you to fill in. Don't bother with the textbook. She will make sure you have all the information you need from the class. Easy quiz every lab period to make you look over your notes, three multiple choice exams.
She is awesome and very helpful. Why cant every teacher be like her. Easy class and lab was fun!
She's so nice!! Great sense of humor. Notes are very helpful, makes you go to class in order to fill in the rest. Anatomy is NOT easy, but she makes it interesting and fun. Study the notes and study hard.. if you keep up you will do well.
Great teacher..study for the pop quizzes and expect one every lab...went to her for help and she was more than willing to explain things..
Great teacher, I highly recommend her, show up to class take good notes and study them a lot and you'll do fine. She keeps the class interesting and is such a nice lady.
She is an absolute sweetheart and great at explaining. The material isn't hard, but it is a lot to know. I'd recommend studying the lecture notes after every class. Don't bother buying a textbook because you will most likely never use it. All the material on quizzes and exams comes directly from notes.
one of the most sincere teachers i've ever had! go to class and lab, take notes and you will be fine. if you need help, ask her she is more than happy to meet with you for extra help. goes out of her way to make you do well..gives bonus points before the start of breaks!
Great teacher. Makes her lectures very interesting. I love the review for exam II she has around thanksgiving ( I don't know what she does for spring session). An absolute sweetheart.
GREAT professor! One of the nicest teachers..always willing to help and lectures are easy to follow. Definitely recommend.
She is a saint. She is the greatest teacher, she gives the book its just fill in and the tests are exactly like the book. She is one of the nicest teachers I have had, the class requires a large amount of studying but it is pretty interesting and she is so sweet.
Very difficult class, but the best teacher I've had in my short time at Buffalo. Her notes are easy to fill in and easy to study from. Very nice and helpful, if you need to take Anatomy, take her I can't see there being a better professor.
Just finished taking the class over the summer and it was the best class I have ever taken. She is so nice and cares about the success of everyone while at the same time being able to explain even complex things very clearly. All of the notes are pre-printed for you and thats all the tests and quizzes are based on, don't get the book. Excellent!!
AMAZING! she makes it all so interesting, and uses GREAT real-life examples. Requires A LOT of studying. I had no prior knowledge on ANA. I studied +40 hrs for the test and got a B. If I had studied daily, I would have gotten an A. I went to her for help&she is SO CARING&HELPFUL. She really cares! Like a mama hen!
This class is not as difficult as you may think it is. Like everyone said, she has a packet of blank notes that she wants you fill out; study those COMPREHENSIVELY and you'll do fine. She has a quiz almost every week in lab so I feel that those help in keeping students up to date on their studying.
Don't buy the book. Go to class and fill in the note packets. Make sure to keep up on the studdying and not leave it to the night before the exam-there is just too much material (the weekly quizes help with this). Not a hard class, but it takes some good hours of studdying. Tamburlin makes it as fun as she can though!
I was in her anatomy class this past semester! She is the sweetest. DO NOT buy the textbook! You WILL NOT need/use it! Pay attention in lecture and manage your time efficiently and you will be fine. There are only three exams per semester so pace yourself! She knows her stuff.
Best teacher. NO TEXTBOOK. Study an hour a day after lecture and you should be good. Quiz almost every week in lab. Reads directly off slides.
She's a nice teacher. No textbook needed. Just fill-in- the-blanks on an outline. Quiz EVERY LAB. So study the outline before heading into lab. It's easy if you study.
Her class over the summer is bit tough coz you have to stay on top of everything. I thought it was very easy though. The tests questions are sometimes tricky but not hard if you really understand the material. Her lectures are clear but there are tons of guest lecturers and TA who gives the lectures.I bet you will HATE the guest lecturers.
Great profeessor! The class presents a lot of material but it is not difficult and the tests are pretty straight forward. She really wants everyone to do well in the class
Material is easy but so much its a bit overwhelming. Do not last minute study. Attend class to fill out the outline notes. Weekly quizes are good to force you to keep up with material. She always hold a review session. There are so many TA's that also do this. There's no excuse not getting a good grade from this class.
She is so sweet and very helpful. Her biggest aim and goals are to see the students succeed in the class. If you ever have questions or concerns do not hesitate to approach her!! She is the nicest and most understanding professor I have ever had.
She was my absolute favorite teacher so far! This class is an easy A as long as you go to class and take the notes which are fill in the blank.
Awesome professor and class; don't know how to word it better. As long as you study the lectures and go to class, you will maintain an A. By far favorite class I took at U.B
I LOVE JUDY!!!! She is the best professor at UB. So sweet and her main priority is for her students to do well. No textbook needed, just a fill-in outline for notes in lecture. Quizes every week in lab, but it helps your grade at lot. Try your best to get Judy, you WON'T REGRET IT.
she is so sweet in her soft voice, very hardworking and helpful....she is extremely splendid
super nice lady, not a boring class at all. Taking notes is a must and going to lab makes all the difference.
very intense anatomy class, but very manageable! you must go to lecture if you want an A! she's clear about what might be on the test, but a few questions always screw you up. The quizzes in lab each week are HARD and you MUST study. only 5/8 quizzes count though so it's easy enough to get an A if you try! she's a great teacher!!!
Dr. Tamburlin is so nice and helpful. The entire ANA 113 team of professors is really good and dedicated to the students. It is a lot of material, but easily manageable if you put in the effort.
If you do bad in this class, you're in the wrong major. Plain and simple.
This class is hard and requires you to remember everything. Lab are mandatory otherwise you will fail. Exams are mandatory on time, if you miss one, you will fail because there is no make up exam. Many TAs will have reviews before exams, so just go to them. Textbook are option and useless, so you only need to buy the outline.
Very intense class. Lots of notes to remember, if you don't spend enough time reviewing before an exam you're not likely to pass. Study notes after each lecture, they pile up quickly. Each exam is on about 12-13 lectures. No extra credit, just five quizzes and 3 exams make up your final grade. Final exam is not cumulative, thankfully.
VERY good professor. gives amazing lectures and honestly the class is so easy **IF** you put in the work and study the lectures. don't buy the textbook, only get the lecture notes. go to class, take the notes and study them and you will be golden. lab quizzes really help your grade-take them serious! lots of info but definitely doable. TAKE HER!!!!
Amazing professor
Professor Tamburlin was very informative and descriptive during her lectures. Her teaching style flowed well and it was easy to follow if you took time outside of class to review the information. Tests were hard, but you will pass if you study in advance. Overall, Dr. Tamburlin creates a great atmosphere for her students during lectures and labs.
You have to study everyday and be on top of quizzes and exam dates. Other than that, this class is an easy A.
Not a bad class overall. Just did not like the testing style. "All of the following BUT..." and just MC tests. I skipped class always and just reviewed her lectures, especially every week before lab. Even if there isn't a quiz, this helps you prep for tests.
Dr. Tamburlin was an AMAZING professor! Lecture outlines are all printed out so all you have to do is fill them in according to the lecture. The whole course was extremely clear and everyone was willing to help.
Dr. Tamburlin is an amazing professor. She has such enthusiasm for what she teaches, and she teaches it well. She is very clear, and gives out fill-in-the-blank lecture outlines which she then goes through slowly enough for everyone to catch on and understand. The exams are tough because of the 'all of the following except' format, but great class.
Great professor, always answers questions and explains difficult concepts so they are understandable. Easy class, quizzes in lab and multiple choice exams with questions taken directly from fill in the blank notes. Show up to lecture, she gives exam hints and genuinely wants students to do well.
Overall a very good professor, explains very well but there is LOTS AND LOTS of notes. Do not skip lecture or you will be behind. Study a lot. Test are not hard. Do not skip lab as it may seem useless, there is quizzes every lab session. Quizzes are easy.
Dr. Tamburlin was the best professor I've had. She makes following lectures easy and the lecture outlines are already printed out so you just have to fill in the blank. She makes difficult topics to easy to understand. Attendance is not mandatory but helps a great amount. She will hint at exactly what you need to know and don't know for the test.
Dr. Tamburlin is an awesome professor. She is very knowledgeable in anatomy and wants to see everyone do well There are weekly quizzes which you need to study for, but overall it makes studying for the exam easier. Tests/Quizzes can ask anything/everything from the notes so go to lecture and write down everything she tells you!
I really loved the ANA department as a whole. There are plenty of resources available to you including weekly review sessions that help you with weekly quizzes in lab. I would deffinitly take tamburlin over derby, she is really good at what she does. 75% of the grade consists of non cumulative tests, and the remaking 25 percent is your quiz average
Tamburlin is a great professor and makes everything clear. She often gives scenarios (before tests) that help understand material more. This course is not easy you have to work for it and you need to spend a lot of time knowing EVERYTHING. I regret not being more serious about it from the beginning.
I loved dr tamburlin, she's a really great professor and wants to make sure everyone does well. don't take this class if you won't put in the effort. theres a quiz in lab every week, online homework every week, and 3 50mc exams. make sure you study well for the exams because theres a lot of info from each chapter on them
An amazing professor and the lecture notes are great. Just so must memorizing which makes it really difficult.
Dr. Tamburlin is amazing! This woman deserves a raise. I highly recommend taking a course with her. She lays out the lecture material very clearly and makes it easy to follow along in class. I did well in this course for that reason. She is so sweet and is willing to help her students with whatever they're having trouble with.
I really enjoyed Dr. Tamburlin! You have to purchase the lecture handouts which make following lecture and studying organized and helpful. She does have some fun during lecture, especially reviewing for exams. She is very smart and knows everything about how the body works, take this class with her! Get an old textbook if you want more diagrams.
Judy the Goat yo
Get ready to teach yourself if youre taking anatomy 113. I barely went to the lectures because they are all 8 ams, and they were just for information. i realized getting the notes from review sessions did the job just as well. Hard tests, quiz almost every week, study your ass off for this class. GO 2 REVIEW SESSIONS (especially Denise's)
As others have already said, PAS 113 (formerly ANA 113) is an easy class. It might seem intimidating at first given the sheer volume of information, but the exams only test you on 30% of everything that's covered in lecture. AND the exams are very straightforward. Try to take this class as an upperclassman and you'll see that this class is a joke.
Love/Hate relationship with her but she does allow me to get the job done.
She explains her lectures in great detail, all you have to do is write whatever facts are on the screen, and try to listen to what she says so you can understand everything. She explains nearly everything perfectly, even giving nice examples.
She truly cares about her students and does everything to make them succeed. The lectures are a lot of information, but they are very clear and easy to follow. Tests are tricky, a lot of "all of the following EXCEPT" questions, but if you study you'll be fine. Weekly lab quizzes are helpful in making sure you stay on top of the material.
she is the best teacher i ever had. This class is very very difficult but if you put work into it , you won't be disappointed. She cares so much about her students. GO TO CLASSS!!!! the lectures are not recorded. she explains things so well in class and you won't get the same understanding from just reading over a friends notes.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Did not treat students with respect. Would change quiz grades to 0 if you didn't finish the quiz with minutes to spare. Relied on TA's to give us help and did not do anything outside of minimum requirements. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF U DONT HAVE TO!
She's so sweet. 8am on South was brutal though. A lot of Things to learn but that's Anatomy for you. Kinda wish that UB taught anatomy and physiology together. I enjoyed the class though
An iconic legend. If I could take anatomy with her again I would. Shes caring and very knowledgeable. She has such a passion for what she does and it shows. Go to lecture, take notes, hw, go to lab & youre gucci. The material isnt hard to comprehend, theirs just a lot of it so really study! The way she words her exam questions are very tricky!
She is so nice and genuinely cares if you do well in this course!
Best class I took this semester!! Definitely requires time and effort, but tests are fair. Hard work pays off if you put time into this class. All the professors want you to do well which is completely different from my other premed courses.
