boring, but good teacher. you'll leave this class learning something. if you study, then you'll do good. be ready to take lots of notes!
very straight forward teacher. tells you exactly what she will expect on her tests. i recomend going to class everyday, sometimes boring though. take good notes, they will be great study guides. her class compose of 4 tests 60 pts each, 4 problem sets 15 pts each and attendance. no cummulative final.
Excellent teacher that really loves macroeconomics. She has tons of experiences in the real world and is always willing to help you understand if you are willing to do the work. Definitely one of the best teachers at DeAnza.
Very passionate. Don't think I'll ever find a teacher like her again. Has overhead slides and writes on the board, take notes! Read over the stuff she covered in your book and you'll do fine! Multiple choice tests and short answers, which are a total free bee because she goes over the answers. Recommended!!!! =)
Good Teacher. Very clear, lots of notes. Never had to open the book. Just study notes and the test should be fairly easy.
She is a great teacher who puts a lot of time and effort into her lectures. She is very clear and will go over things 2 or 3 times to ensure your understanding. She gives some extra credit opportunities which really help your grade. She is truly there for the student. Very nice lady.
Great teacher. Very clear lectures but lots of note taking. Pretty easy test.
Great teacher, former oil broker - knows her stuff.
She is a really good teacher. There are a lot of notes you can take. tests are easy. highly recommend. Easy A if you do the problem set and read the book.
SUPER EASY A! Extra credit assignments and lots of extra points in midterms! "Preview" questions before midterms x) Extremely friendly and easy-going. Easy adding in and easy bargain for make-up tests. Very flexible and you can pretty much guarantee yourself with at least an A if you dun mind to "do" the homework and take some notes. Simple concept
I am ESL student but A. She explain English in the exam.people think she is hard because they never read the book. need to do homeworks which is bad for lazy guys.no late coming attendance count pts.If you are not smart, bad in English but you are hard work you can get an A. Because her exam is MC questions.read book exam no trick it is from text.
She makes the material understandable. You can learn something from her. Just remember, attend her classes ON TIME! and prepare to do 3 problem sets which you may need several hours for each. But doing them absolutely help your tests. Easy A if you do the hw by yourself and study and material not only from notes, but also the textbook.will be fine!
I am so impressed in the quality and clarity of her teaching. I will take micro with her as soon as she teaches it. If you come to class everyday and take notes all you really have to do is read the last word in each chapter and you will pass with flying colors.
The best teacher I ever had. I definitely take her again for ECON 2. She teaches very clearly and make us interested in economic. 3 problem sets, 3 exams are pretty easy but the final is hard. Not recomended for lower ESL students because she uses a lot of difficult words in the material.
wow..she is extremely good teacher..highly recommended..i took her econ1 class this quarter and i get an A..96.25%..she speaks clear and give enough examples during the class literature..u will understand the material easily. plus she gives out lots extra credit which realli help ur grade ..but u have to read through the book carefully .pick her !
Her lectures are boring, straight from the book, no class interaction. You could read at home and get an A but she requires attendance. One absence=-1 pt. MC tests with questions found at publisher’s website. Her green sheet says 90%=A but I got an A- some how, watch out for that. Take Mack for a difficult but better education.
She is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. Very approachable, she encourages you to ask questions after class, do problem sets, make time for them. Exam 2 is the hardest, the rest are really easy, she gives you most of the questions ahead of time. VERY recommended. Take good notes. Do the extra credit and you cannot fail. She is the best!!!!
Her class is fun and she teaches very clearly. LOTS of notes and the exams requires you to study hard and read the book. I thought the class was easy, but it became more difficult later. Many students complained. We studied hard but we did not get the grade we deserved. Sort of disappointed.
Her tests were a lot harder than I thought. There were some tricky wordings that required you to reread questions over. That ended up taking up a lot of time. She makes economics interesting, but my opinion is that she grades a bit hard.
Great teacher! Take her and you will learn a lot in her class. 3 problem-set during the quarter that you might need to spend a few hours to finish it. One extra credit problem-set. If you do your work and study the text book, you will be fine! She is definitely a professor who can make you learn a lot of econ concepts!!!
One of the best teachers I've ever had. She makes sure you understand the concept, and gets you involved to help you pay attention and not get bored. Awesome teacher. Awesome to the max.
A good Econ teacher, she gave out 3 problem sets and she actually go over them the days before they due. Plus she always make sure you understand her concepts. not an easy A class but you will learn lots from her.
This teacher is great but be prepared to take lots of notes! She writes everything on the board. Exams are easy if you study and do the problem sets. She takes roll everyday. Very knowledgeable and passionate about econ. Im definitely gonna take her for micro!
Judith West is one of the BEST professors! She is VERY clear, straightforward, organized and VERY smart! Econ was not my thing but she made it interesting and understandable. You take A LOT of notes-she writes them on the board, have 3 problem sets and 3 exams which if you come to class everyday are not bad. TAKE HER-SHE IS A GREAT ECON professor!
She's a lovely lady. One of my favorite professors. She really cares for her students. Very clear. Easy class, just read and attend class everyday.
A very good econ teacher. Come to class, take notes, do all problem sets, listen to the reviews for exam or final, and come to her office hour if you have questions, you'll do fine.3 problem set and 3 exam. She teaches clearly
Extremely fun, entertaining, and helpful teacher. Her lectures and use of examples are very lucid; once you learn a concept, you'll never forget it. Her problem sets and exams are fairly easy too.
She is SUPER awesome and fun!!! She is THE best teacher I've met so far in De Anza! I totally agree that once u learn a concept in class, u'll never forget it. u'll heard and practice the concept again and again until it dissolves in ur blood. ^^If u like a teacher who is organized, clear and actually LECTURE, Pick her. u will love to go to class.
She is crystal clear, extremely organized and passionate! She would actually read every single word you write on assignments which illustrates how she is an ardent professor. I love Economics now. Attendance is mandatory and although the tests and hws are easy, you must study and read the book to pull an A.
She was my favorite teacher this quarter. Her lectures are very clear, and everything she tells you sticks to your head. She writes notes on the whiteboard, no powerpoint, so you won't fall asleep. Problem sets (3 of them) take a LONG time and they are graded VERY thoroughly. Barely had to read the textbook because her lectures were so good!
3 problems )sets (22.5/20),3 exams(48/45 finals (32/30) attendence (5/5) total= 107.5/100 7.5 pt extra credit...how awesome, thou 94%=A but she rele worths your attendence to class
If anyone asks for a single best professor in De Anza, I would name JUDITH WEST! She's really a top-class professor and I wish I can buy her lecture videos (she should make one.. seriously!) I took her ECON2 class last yr and everything is still fresh in my memories. :)
She's a fair teacher. You want an A, you have to work for it. Tells you exactly what's on her 3 tests and 1 final. NO SURPRISES. Very helpful and make Econ fun. 3 homework packets, they are long, but she praticially gives you the answers
Great teacher. Super nice. Extremely clear and helpful for everything. Didn't really need to rely on the textbook much, esp if you pay attention in lectures. Tests are very straightforward if you've understood everything she's gone over. Overall the class was easy, but you learn a lot by the end of it. Great teacher for microecon!
AMAZING lady, you def will LEARN. If you want an A, be ready to WORK....You have to attend class for the lecture and study...If you want an easy A,this is not the class for you. But if you're major is econ and you love school..then take her
Cons: gives attitude as if you'd cheat on her test. Pros: econ knowledge -great. Lectures -very helpful. Give answers to hw. Energetic/passionate/very nice teacher. Dress nice and professional everyday.easy exams/final -just listen to her lectures alone would get you a B, scan the book + do problem sets = ace fasho
She's the best econ teacher in De Anza! She's clear, knows what she's talking about, and makes economics so easy. however, if you want A, you have to work really hard. Homework and tests can be difficult. This class was my favorite class of the quarter, I worked so hard, and I got an A.
She's the BEST econ teacher in De Anza! She's clear, knows what she's talking about, and makes economics so easy. however, if you wanna get a good grade, you gotta work really hard. Homework and tests can be difficult. This class was my favorite class of the quarter, I worked so hard, and I got an A. felt so satisfied.
She is the Best Econ Teacher I've taken at De Anza. Just take good notes and do the problem set and you'll be fine. The only parts that you need to read in the textbook is the part called the "last word". This lady traveled all over the place, so she has seen a lot. After taking her class for 3 quarters now, I still remember a lot!!!
If you are a student who studies medium-hard, this class will be a fine for you. However, if you are an AP/HONORS student and you want to learn more about econ, this class won't be challenging at all. Ms. West teaching style is extremely organized/straight forward, and understandable to a high school level. DO the work = A. West can Dress!
Best teacher ever, take her if you want an easy grade and if you want to learn. Beast teacher in De Anza.
Her lectures are very clear and organized. Attend class,, write notes and do problem sets and most likely you will get A.
She is THE BEST econ teacher at DeAnza NO DOUBT. Lectures are clear and easy to understand. She makes econ bearable for those who hate it. Her class has 3 tests and 1 final. There is a homework packet that is due every 1 - 1.5 weeks. She also tells you what is on the test so you can study. Just take notes that she writes on the board and study
Psycho and frigid when it comes to "the rules". Makes not citing sources seem like an act that should be punished by death. Grades hard. Seems nice but her craziness is overbearing. HATED this class because of the professor. DON'T TAKE HER!!
Ahh... Professor West. Well I must say she is one of the most arrogant people I have met in my life. However, she is very intelligent, used to trade oil and her husband is a V.C or something. She does not know how to pause, she just fills the gaps with about 100 ums per minute. TAKE IT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ALOT ABOUT ECON, NOT IF YOU WANT AN A.
Absolutely AMAZING teacher. Explains everything to you, never hesitate to ask questions.
One of the BEST professor I have encountered in my WHOLE life. She teaches with such clarity that the information is drilled into your brain. Midterms are insanely easy if you study. I studied only a few hours before and have an A+ because I remembered a lot of things from her lectures. She's really helpful. Easy A if you spend some time to atudy!
She's a great professor. She is extremely knowledgeable in her area of teaching and creates relevant metaphors to explain concepts. Her tests are relatively easy and very straight forward. She gives extra credit for attendance. If you need to fulfill an ECON requirement, take her class!
I took her class a long time ago, the class and her are simply amazing...i waited for a year to see if she will teach econ 2 ..never seen her in de anza again... :( i miss her. if she ever come back take her. the best econ teacher i ever had.
One of the best teachers at DA in terms of teaching/lecturing. she actually teaches unlike other professors who would tell you to go home and read the text. 3 exams, 1 final, HW packet per week. The answers to the HW is all in the notes, if not, she will give it to you during class. You will hardly use the book but you will need it for specific pgg
She is extremely nice and helpful. She is a great professor... if you want to learn, you should definitely take her class. if you want an A; go to class, read the book, ask questions!
awesome teacher, had her for both micro and macro. her tests are pretty easy, everything she lectures on is on the tests. do the homework packets, theyll help you for the test alot! she gives you the answers in class practically, and the exam questions are not tricky whatsoever, take her. youll learn alot and pass stress free
DO NOT SIGN UP WITH HER!! I WAS an honors student in ECON. Horrible experience! GRADING she will belittle you and deduct points when your work is accurate, she gets defensive if you question her. TEXTBOOK she barely uses the textbook, everything is lectured so you can not miss class. You will regret taking this class.
She has a wealth of info that she enthusiastically shares during her lectures. This is *not* an easy A but you will learn a lot. Attend every class, take notes and study hard.
She's not very understanding. If you miss an assignment, she will make sure you feel horrible. Overall, I got a good grade though.
She is too generous. Her test is VERY easy because it is too straight forward.
It's one of the best classes I have ever had in DA. This class requires some effort. She is always willing to help you. I took her for ECON 1&2. Strongly recommend. Note: It is "not" a class for you if you want an A without effort. Take notes is important.
One of my favorite teachers EVER! She is very helpful! Office hours are very helpful! I went everyday. NOT a scary awkward teacher. If you do all the work & attend class you will be fine. 6 homework assignments that are big but she gives EVERY answer in class; so attend every class!
One of the best teachers I've ever had! Extremely helpful, very organized, and very clear about what she wants from her students. Gives out problem sets each week that are extremely helpful for the tests. Tests are easy if you study the problem sets and study guide! She's also super nice and very fashionable.
She was a great teacher! Definitely take her. Everything she teaches and makes you take notes on are straight forward and on the tests. There's an okay amount of homework but they all give you extra credit if you do really well! Super awesome and would take again
What an awesome Professor! Tests are all based on your notes, so make sure your taking notes everyday. Homework is problem sets which she goes over in class, again notes! Easy "A" off your notes! Highly recommended!
She's very clear in teaching and very helpful. Copy everything she writes on the board and do the problem set (given almost every week, 6-8 questions). Her test is like the revision of the problem set!
Overall a very easy class. The only reason I highly advise against taking this professor is that she treats you like children. Her lectures are belittling as she asks a horrific amount of redundant questions that she expects the class to answer. She also expects you to hand wright the 5+ page problem sets.AVOID if you don't want cringe worthy lectures
she is a great professor. People who are complaining about the lengthy problem set are the ones who did not do well on the midterms and finals. She lecture on every single question on the problem set, just take notes and read problem set before test and you will pass the class with a good grade.
One of the best teachers I've had at De Anza. I'm glad that she does not do online homework. Lectures are very interesting. This class is probably not for you if you're the type who registers and just show up for exams. Exams are fairly easy if you attend her lectures.
PICKY! She is so picky when it comes to your answers. Her tests are confusing because she gives you a study guide, MC practice q's, and your problem set to study for so it's hard to know which one you should focus on. NO cheat sheet. Class is super boring. Would recommend another teacher
Absolutely wonderful professor. I had no prior interest in economics, but am now considering a major economics-related after this class. I enjoyed Mrs. West so much despite rough beginnings(If you consider an A- on an exam and B on homework rough). Everything is note-based and the lectures are wonderful and easy. I plan to take her again for macro.
Great teacher, very helpful, approachable. if you have questions ask her in class or go see her during her office hours. She go through every single question on her problem set at least few times so that everyone gets it. just go to class everyday, take notes, study notes and you ll get an A. for sure.
BEST PROFESSOR AT DEANZA. It's my first time commenting professors in this site. I HAVE TO GIVE HER THE BEST RATING. she gives a clear lecture, makes nice jokes, and is very kind in and outside of class. The course is an EASY A not because the quality is trash but because she literally teaches well. I even decided to major in econ after taking her.
Her class is pretty helpful but she is picky. You have a lot to do including her problem sets. Most of her tests are based on problem set. She is very fussy about her assignments.
If you are gonna take econ take this class. It was an easy class. Class is full of lectures and a lot of notes, but definitely prepares you for the test. Eventhough you dont attent class, do the problemsets and you'll get an A Lots of extra credits! Problemsets seems a lot, but she goes over everything. Shes super nice. loved her class!!
Judith West. You were fantastic. You have the heart of a lion. A very young lion, if you will, and 30 if we really want to push it. Overall my perspective on economics has changed positively thanks to Professor West. I highly believe how important it is for a teacher to present information well and put it in a understandable perspective. U da bes!
She is the absolute BEST. Very kind hearted, friendly, and funny! I love how she teaches because she makes everything seem so intuitive and easy. I feared taking economics but she made it seem so much easier than I imagined. Problem sets are incredibly straightforward (make sure you take notes in class) and tests are based straight off the notes.
Such a fun and enjoyable class. West is very knowledgable of history and uses it to explain the concepts better. She's really funny and a great person to learn economics from. Her grading style is very generous. Highly highly recommend taking her. Quite a bit of homework but you WILL NOT regret doing all of it. Prestige yields and A. Have fun!!!!!
One of the BEST professor I ever had and one of the best classes where i actually learned. Extremely nice, knowledgeable, and organized professor. Can be a little nit picky, especially on HW, when you take tests, and when you try to take pictures of the board for notes, but its all in good interest for her. Made econ really interesting and easy.
Her lectures were straight forward and her written portion of the test were too, but the multiple choice section always threw me off. I feel I wasn't thoroughly prepared for those questions. Barely used the textbook but it's still needed for tests. Attendance is not mandatory but tests and homework are lecture based.
She totally inspired me! Even though I'm not an econs or majoring in any majors that are even close to Econs, I was manage to get an A+. That's how clear and straight forward she is! INPSIRING! KNOWLEDGABLE! Tests were easy and straightforward. Textbook required! Read the textbook for her test and there's no excuse that you couldn't get an A.
Mrs. West was the best! She really made me love economics and I even changed my major to econ. Her expectations are laid out from the beginning and as long as you do the work and try, you'll get an A. Her method of teaching and how her homework was made it easy to memorize the basics of econ. I highly recommend this class.
I really recommend her, she gives a lot of extra credit oppurtunities, The work is fairly simple and it is basically common sense. Study and you'll get a good grade
She likes to exaggerate some facts and to tell students her personal point of view, which is not even close to the reality (especially when she talks about world news). She seems knowledgeable about some econ concepts, but overall her notion based exclusively on what she hears on TV and reads in her favourite newspaper. I am disappointed.
I loved her. The material was really clear and if you pay attention to the lectures and do the problem sets there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't get a very high A. Gives a lot of extra credit so ended up with about 103% at the end of the quarter
Tests are so hard. Avoid the class at all costs.
Take good notes and you will get a good grade! Copy notes word for word and memorize the definitions on the study guide and you will do good on the midterms!
took both ECON 1 & ECON 2 at the same time, the first midterm was the same test. As long as you come to class and copy what she writes on the board, you will get most of the points for your homework. Her tests were pretty straight forward if you review the homework. May need the book to read a few pages for the test maybe check reserve
She is very organized, she wrote everything that is important on the board, and it will shows up in tests. She gives study guide for tests, study it and you will be fine. She brings some interesting lectures, but with her personal opinion. If you don't like her opinion, some of the content may be offensive to you. (If you from Asia, especially CHN )
Not a nice person; has an off-putting personality. I can assure you that she completely misinterpreted some facts happening in the country where I grew up. She seem passionate about her subject, but it doesn't mean she actually knows it well. Get ready to hear some ridiculously misinterpreted world news. I beg you not to take her class.
I liked her class. Not bad, and straight to the point! You have to attend class or you won't be able to do the homework. She's very picky when it comes to homework, such as, not being in order. However gives you extra points in advance so you'll still get full points on homework. Organized notes, also break down: homework, 3mt, 1final
Most of her notes are outlined by her through the lectures. Showing up to class is important so you have those notes. Her problem sets and tests were not difficult and she will answer your questions when you need her to. Highly recommend!
She id great and organized. Her test is based on her notes, so make sure go to class regularly. Planning to take her class again.
Honestly a difficult class. It's sooo annoying how picky she is, especially on the problem sets. She docked me points on a problem because for the answer I put "$1.5" instead of "$1.50." You HAVE to attend class and take notes. Didn't enjoy her class very much.
Amazing professor. Straight forward and organized lectures. She makes the content so interesting. Listen carefully to what she says and take good notes, and tests will be super easy. She basically goes through all the homework questions in class and also allows them to be done in pairs, so getting an A is absolutely manageable. Will take her again.
One of the very best teachers at De Anza. Extremely knowledgable. Took her for both micro and Macro. i am an ESL student but i was able to get A+ for both classes. She is very forgiving. Lectures are very well organized. Attend classes and take notes, it is an easy A.
Very well-rounded woman, loves what she does. Her class is very easy to follow with problem set packets that she uses as her lecture notes and then turn in for points at the end of the chapter. Her tests are pretty easy and she always offers extra credit in the problem sets and tests. She is very helpful in her office hours. Would recommend!
EASIEST CLASS EVER. Took her for both macro and micro and got over 100% in both. The notes taken in class along with the in class exercises are the hw solutions which are the test questions so take notes.
Her class is very straightforward and easy to pass as long as you attend class (or get notes from a classmate) and then complete the problem sets which you answer in class. Study from her study guides that she sends out and you are set for her tests. Does not take a lot of effort. Follow her instructions and you're good.
Shes a great teacher but she assigns so much homework. I dont mind it but she grades so harsh. Shell make a way for you to lose a point and she scribble scrabbles on your homework. I learned a lot from her class its just too much. Good luck
she is straightforward. BUT VERY OLD SCHOOL. if you don't show up, you're not gonna pass. Make some friends in class too because you don't wanna do all the problem sets on you own.
Class is easy, goes by quickly, but your hand will hurt this quarter. Write down her notes word for word in order, so that you don't have to redo your problem set and you will receive at least full credit if not extra. Exams are not too difficult if you study (the handwritten notes make you remember more easily). She's one of the best instructors.
I took behavioral economy just for fun and I really liked it. Being a CS student, having something else to think about besides the logical stuff was good for me. The Problem sets are doable and not difficult at all. She goes through everything a lot of times that if you don't get an A then you don't know how to speak English. Spent around 2hr/week.
She covers the answers to the vast majority of homework problems during class. You literally just copy her answers from the whiteboard - I'm honestly baffled how some people do poorly on the homework. The test questions are covered extensively in class and on the study guides she emails. She has a great sense of humor, and is very charismatic.
For a 4 credit class, there is a lot of work. Easy A if u arent taking a lot of classes at the same time. Detailed reading for those tricky qs tho. Took class as honor, read a chapter and answer qs (not added to grade). I do like the way she teaches but she can be condescending n passive aggressive.
Out of my years in college, She is one of the best professors that you could take for Econs 1. The answers to her HWs are pretty much explained in class (Taking down notes is very crucial in her class) and have a great sense of humor. She's also very understanding and will explain to you whatever problems you don't understand. Highly recommended!
Professor West is beyond what the normal professor brings to the table. She is absolutely hilarious when it comes to economic jokes. She goes over the problem sets in class and uses the problem sets as a study guide. She is strict about her rules. NO PHONES AND NO TAKING PHOTOS OF HER BOARD. You dare and do that, well, good luck charlie
If you take her behavioral economics class. Make sure you don't procrastinate on her problem sets and try to finish them in a day. Her lectures are wonderful and I got much-needed life advice from her teachings. Studying for her class is completely straightforward and you'll get an A for doing the work guaranteed.
I loved this Professor. I wish I had her for Econ1. She makes you take handwritten notes for everything so be prepared but I liked that. Her exams are always from those notes. She goes over things clearly. Do not use a phone in her class. One day she had a group class project involving eating donuts. Who wouldn't like that :) Take her!!
Prof West knows her stuff & is very passionate when it comes to economics. Her M-Th classes are only 50min long so even tho it's a lot of info to retain, they come in bite-sized portions. She records her lectures; 4 exams (open note), 4 problem sets + 1-2 in-class exercise per week (all done in assigned groups), 1 final. I want to take her again!
I normally hate economics, but Professor West made this class easy and enjoyable. She loves what she teaches and she uses very simple examples to help us understand. Her exams are the exact things she teaches during the lecture, so as long as you pay attention, you are good. There isn't much HW at all, just 4 problem sets that are group work.
Learned a lot from the class. There was 4 test (the lowest grade would be dropped), 4 problem sets that you had to do with a group of 5-6 people, around 2-3 in-class exercises per week, and a cumulative final. As long as you showed up and paid attention, the test and problem sets weren't difficult.
Every class started with going over the news. She used not trusted sources of news. Prof thinks she is smart because she reads newspaper every morning, but most of the time its brainwashed ideas and wrong views. I got disappointed in the prof herself and the information she spreads. Not knowledgeable, only talk.
I took Prof West for both macro and micro! Shes delightful and passionate about econ that having bite-sized 50-min classes every day is more ideal than 2-hr classes twice a week. Shell put you in groups at the start of the quarter. 20 in-class exercises (done in groups), 4 problem sets (done in groups, aka no individual hw!!) 4 midterms, 1 final
i took prof West for both micro and macro and i loved her! such a sweet person overall and was very helpful when i had trouble with something. quiz every other week or so, some harder than others but generally was very very doable. highly recommend showing up to her zoom lectures, as they're very helpful and you can get the "hw" n class work done!
I took Prof. West for both Macro and Micro since her lectures are really clear and informative. She also puts us in groups, allowing us to interact with our classmates online during quarantine. Furthermore, she gives real-life situations to make the concept easier for her students to understand. She's truly a gem!
Awful teaching techniques as well as the professor herself. I never take her again. I wanted to learn something new, but instead I listened to her personal views.
LOVE THIS PROFESSOR! Took her for both macro and micro and really made me love the subject. She gives great lectures every day that basically go over the answers to the homework! Truly a sweet intelligent lady! It isn't difficult, but it isn't an easy A. Listen to the lectures, pay attention, and take notes, its hard to fail this class!
she writes her notes in complete sentences, so if you want short and concise notes, don't write down everything. she assigned groups to last the whole quarter, so if you don't have a group that corporates, good luck.
Took Mrs. West for Microeconomics. She is a very good professor and kind lady and I truly learned a lot from her. Along with that, she helps us apply what we are learning in class to our current events. Also, her test questions are pretty much taken directly out of the problem sets and notes. Her study guides make that clear. Easy A class
This professor is really amazing, as long as you attend lectures and complete all the problem sets in time, you'll get an A. I complied all my lecture notes (word to word) so go over it for an easy A+. I have all my lecture notes compiled into a single document called "All lecture and class notes for Class" under ECON 5 on stuvia dot com.
Her econ class is super informative as she is a passionate and clear lecturer when it comes to the different topics. Her class is super easy to navigate and to follow and she essentially sets you up for success. I wish I'd taken her for econ 2!! Super easy A please take her! just beware of the groups you're put in, not everyone will put in the work
Awesome professor that holds captivating lectures. She strongly encourages her students to get to know each other in a way that (I think) is great for both intro- and extroverts. I went on to study at two other universities after my time at De Anza but I still consider Mrs West to be among my very favorite lecturers. Also she got us donut holes
Overall a solid professor. Most work is group work so if you get assigned a good group you should be set. Tests were pretty easy, she gave us a study guide with pretty much exactly what topics would be covered and allowed one page of handwritten notes to use. Lectures were alright, not amazing but she still does well to explain concepts.
4 tests, lowest score dropped. She is respected and her lectures are amazing. She stresses on group work but its all training for ur future. This professor is probably the most perfect. She treats her students very well. Exams and tests are a bit hard but if u can keep efforts, its more than enough. Def recommend her. I will always look up to her.
Professor Judith West. I love her Econ class. At the beginning of class, she shares the latest news. Do what you need to do and don't worry about your grades.
