great friendly teacher...goes slow and is easy to understand
Very nice. The class was boring, but Braun designed the syllabus. :-)
She's really great, very friendly and obviously loves the language :-)
Very nice teacher, wants to see all students suceed! great class
She is the best French teacher I have ever had, if you are taking 105 THIS IS !
She was a fantastic teacher. She wants everyone to do well.
Very nice, but sometimes un-intellectual in her ideas/grading of papers.

Best french teacher! very enthusiastic and fun!
A GREAT teacher....knows the language so well, is very enthused & helpful!
cool lady...challenging class though
best teacher ive had so far, really loves the language
great teacher, extremely nice and very helpful
I love Madame Celli! She is sweet and very helpful ! She makes me want to learn
SO SWEET! speaks well for students to understand. picks good stories. tres bon!
Lots of reading, but she is always there to help
I wish I could have her as a prof through 107
my favorite teacher so far at UD. is willing to help very sweet. take her!
Excellent, she is amazing. FRENCH is the best with her
She is the BEST!!!! She is so nice. I love her class.

I've had her twice and she's been great each time - very helpful, class is fun!
Awesome lady, took her for two semesters. You will love her class.
awesome teacher, very enthusiastic, loves Rod Stewart ;)
extremely helpful, likes outgoing students who aren't afraid to get up in front
You will definately learn FRENCH with her, she is amazing
She is a really great teacher! Take her if you can! You won't regret it!
She really knows her stuff, great teacher, would take her again

very nice and her rod steward obsession is funny.
Greatest french teacher i've ever had...really gets students into the language
Made me appreciate French Lit and Rod Stewark
Great!!! helpful and interesting-
Very nice teacher, sweet& funny, very helpful, pretty easy tests.
SO funny and random, would take more french if she was the teacher!
Loved the class. She's wonderful and really funny
Awesome prof, knows her stuff, great sense of humor, easy exams and quizzes
Kept class interesting
good prof. very nice and has a great sense of humor!
Very sweet and a great teacher!
AWESOME!

Very sweet, concerned with helping students, sometimes a little too easy for upper level course
she is very helpful and patient! quite a bit of work but it helps to take good notes when she gives background to stories.
Awesome prof! Interesting, friendly, funny, and really knows her stuff!!
She is what I want to be when I'm her age!
She is awesome if she thinks you like french. She tends to give up and make comments if you do not absolutley love the language.
Excellent teacher! Her FREN211 reading and composition class is a must; it is really interesting. She also does a great job teaching fren107. Really knows her stuff!
Great teacher. Very helpful if you ask and explains things very well. Don't have to do the workbook exercises. Take her!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best prof i have ever had in my entire foreign language experience. she has love for her work and is always eager to help her students. Her explanations are very clear. u want to pass french??? then she is the best prof u can ever
I actually miss being in her class . . . and that's rare :)
Best professor, ever! So nice and really interested in helping her students.
I absolutly love this woman. She loves what she does and loves to go off on tangents... in french.
very helpful, & clear on requirements
i've had her for both 106 and 107, she's sooo great!
She's not bad, but definitely not great. Her tangents are enjoyable only if you're a liberal looking to bash Pres. Bush in a french class. It's not a hard class, but there are definitely better french classes than hers.
She was a really, really good professor. Whenever you need any help with the material, she's always very willing to help you during your office hours.
She's really helpful, grades fairly, and she makes classes fun. Her TA, Sylvain is great, too.
Mme. Celli was really helpful. Very passionate about her class. Love her tangents.
She is awesome. She was my favorite teacher this semester. She cares about her students and wants them to learn and understand things. She's very reasonable and understanding and definitely tries to make your life easier. Take her class.. it is hard though
Madame Celli is SUCH a good professor because she makes you feel so comfortable in the classroom and helps you to understand the material! She understands that college is not about making students lives a living hell, yet the class is still challenging,
This was a rather easy class, I got a B with no work whatsoever. She is always helpful if you ask and I saw very few faults in her. If you are conservative you may be annoyed by her liberalism, however I could always engage her in interesting political conversations after class.
i hated french when i began this class.. i had a rough teacher for 106 and dreaded 107. Madame Celli changed my whole outlook! She was so nice, very helpful and fun! I felt so comfortable in class and pulled a decent grade! If 107 is a requirement definitely go with celli, you will not regret it! Im actually a little sad its over!
I loved her! The class was easy and I ended up with an A. She understands that at the 107 level we don't really know enough for her to speak constantly in French without explaining a few things in English along the way.
Great teacher. Lots of fun little activities, makes class go by quickly. She is really helpful and nice, wants you to do well, doesn't judge if your pronunciation is crap. Just participate and you'll do fine. Tells funny stories in French, makes you feel like you know stuff! Definitely take her!
Pretty good teacher. Don't take it if you aren't super liberal! I probably wouldn't take her again, but I got a B.
I would not say she is easy, she is fair. She speaks more English in class than any other French Prof I've had. Her exams are strait forward, she tells you what to study. Her politics are leftist, but no more so than the average UD prof. I recomend her even though I got a D, my worst grade at UD. If you don't do well with her its your fault.
Lovely woman, and a great professor too! I always looked forward to class, she was so helpful, really was into her stuff, and genuinely cared about her students. Final was hard, but I wish she would teach 205 so I could take it with her!
Celli is a wonderful teacher! I always looked forward to her class and never missed one.. The french activities were interesting and she presented the material very well!! Deff take her if you want to take a french class! She is highly recommended!
Awesome professor... in reading all of the "conservatives, watch out!!!" comments, i must say that as a conservative, i was never once offended or even put off by any of her "extremely leftist opinions"... she kept politics (for the most part) out of the classroom. definitely take her class, i learned so much from her.
if you want ta take french take this class. class not necessarily easy but she is very helpful and wants you to succeed. always available for office hrs and willing to schedule appoitmemts. knows her stuff and tries to make things as fair as possible
Sometimes felt like I was sitting in a high school classroom again with her but she was still a good prof. She clarified anything the class needed or if you saw her for office hours. While tests were difficult I was able to pull out a B by participating and doing well on essays.
Highly recommended if you need to take French. Very cool teacher and extremely helpful. Do the assignments (there aren't too many) and you'll get a decent grade.
Madam Celli is a fantastic teacher. She tries to include everybody in the class in her discussions. People claim she spews liberal propaganda but, even with the election year, she kept her opinions to herself. She's an easy grader as long as you pay attention to what she teaches you and participate in the class
The best teacher ive had at Delaware. I have been putting off taking French for 2 years now, but I honestly can say i enjoyed going to class. Got out early almost every day, and she would always have silly high school like activities for us to do. Such a nice woman, likes to bring up politics. if you have to take french get in her section!
She's an awesome teacher and great help. She's fun to listen to (tells amusing stories) and makes the class a lot of fun. If you are taking French, she's a great professor.
She is a great professor. She explains things really well and is willing to help. She has a lot of small quizzes and homework which can really help to bring up your grade. Tests are not to hard either. You have to go to class but its almost fun to go.
Madame Celli is a lighthearted, amiable and charismatic professor who makes the material quite easy to learn. There were plenty of exercises and just the right amount of homework to keep you at the right pace. Professor Celli makes classes very enjoyable with her occasional stories and fun class activities. I highly recommend her.
I took fren 107 over summer session and she was very helpful and always answered questions. She is very nice and easy to talk to. I hadn't taken french in 2 years and still did very well. if you need a language make sure you have her as your professor
She's an absolute angel- so helpful and funny in class. Its a language though, so you really do have to put in work and do assignments. Don't text in class!
It actually has been more than two decades, but Judy, as a twenty-six year old, was one of three teaching instructors for Castles, Queens, & Troubadours, a study of Romantic Love, then, being offered during the Wintersession of '88. At this late date, I cannot hope to convey the startling effect of her intelligence or her beauty. She was lovely.
She is an amazing teacher! I don't like French at all and had to take this for my major and she made me consider taking it again. She makes everything clear and tells you what you need to know. Not an overly stressful class. Go to class and take notes, she is very happy and funny which makes class fun to go to.
She's so sweet! Love her. It was a little tough, because its a language course, but she is lenient on due dates and big on participation so passing isn't a challenge if you try hard and look interested. Recommend a thousand times over! She made me consider continuing to the 200 level classes and I'm not even that good at it.
Loved her! She is so nice! The class was really easy! She let us out early and spoke English when we didn't understand. I took 4 years of French in High School and this class was easier than that! Ended up with an A in the class.
She is purely awesome. She will say that she doesnt ever let you out early but she does and its great. She was so helpful and taught me more than i thought i could learn. She inspired me to keep taking french. Simply a great teacher
Amazing professor. She wil teach you so much in just a few months and she is so enthousiatic about what she does. expect to read a lot of french literature and write papers on them. She is a fair grader and wants you to do well. Very easy to talk to! loved her!
Definition of world's best professor. She is such an amazing person and is always ready to help. The class is difficult, but she makes it fun. She made me want to take another french class at UD! Fantastic person all around
DEFINITELY AVOID HER CLASS!! I took 4 years of high school french and struggled in her class. She is of little help and has no sympathy. She expects you to know a lot from the beginning and makes you come to class even though it is pointless. There is not nearly enough time for her extremely long and hard exams. Definitely avoid taking a language!!
My favorite prof at UD! So kind and charismatic. While her intelligence is occasionally intimidating, her passion for the subject is unparalleled. Her class is tough, but she wants her students to do well. Her enthusiasm makes the class fly by--I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Take a class with Celli if you get chance!
She was one of my favorite professors at the university. she was very clear and made sure that everyone understood and was comfortable. i hated my french 106 professor so i wasn't expecting to like 107 but she made the class enjoyable. the books and supplemental materials are important
Mme Celli is a great professor! By far the best french teacher I've ever had. She's extremely helpful and really understands how students learn French. She apologizes a lot for how hard the content is sometimes haha. You definitely do not need a work book because she never checks it but she assigns some things for homework. Turn in your homework.
So nice. So helpful. Makes boring topics interesting. TAKE HER. I wish I could take more classes with her.
She's the best teacher ever! Super helpful and super adorable!
Prof Celli is really a great teacher. She is so funny and really cares about all of her students.
Madame Celli is a great professor. I was struggling with the class at first, but I went to office hours and she helped so much! She is one of the most helpful professors I've had and very easy to talk to.
She is a great prof! She really knows her stuff. Nice, too. Take!
Very grandmotherly, although she's my parents' age... Very sweet woman and wants all of her students to be passionate about French, although that's not the case. Very available in her office hours. Super quirky... occasionally goes on tangents about how much she loves fountain soda and her kids...
Madame Celli is a great teacher! She doesn't assign too much homework, and when she does it's necessary. She speaks in both French and English, so it's easy to understand. She gives you a list of topics to study for each exam, and there aren't any surprises. Participation is worth 15% and points are docked for absences, so make sure to go to class.
Mme. Celli is great. She is really helpful and prepares you for the tests. Participate though because it can ruin your grade so raise your hand! Also, if you're in need of help, go to her office hours because she does care for her students if they care for her class.
This woman is a saint. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of French and i just had to take it for my major, but she makes class so pleasant and has us do activities where we can get up and do more than just listen to a lecture. She's organized and doesn't speak French the entire time, which is really refreshing. She makes sure we know what we're learning.
Mme. Celli is by far one of the best French teachers I have encountered. Her passion is displayed by her numerous activites that break up lecture time. She truly wants students to excel; no matter what their interest level is. She is very personable and is more than willing to help with whatever problem you may have. Overall, she is amazing!
Madame Celli was an amazing french teacher. I took her to fulfill a major requirement. She understands that we are students, so she gives us 4 classes to miss before it counts. She is the kindest professor and makes french 100% easier. Would take her class again in a heartbeat if I needed another year of french. She has ZERO tolerance for phones.
Professor Celli's class was by far my favorite of the semester. She kept her lectures incredibly interesting and she was hilarious. She's a very fair grader and makes it very clear what she wants on her assignments. She also understands students have other commitments. Definitely take one of her classes if you can!
Mme. Celli is the best! She's so sweet and laid back, she made French so interesting and enjoyable that I'm planning on pursuing it as a minor. Participation is important.
All of the tests are really easy if you go to class and pay attention. You don't need the sur le vif workbook, but everything else is important. Really sweet, and speaks English in the class as well, which is always helpful. The oral exam was ridiculously easy. She's really strict about phone use in class though.
Madame Celli is one of my favorite professors at UD. I have always hated analyzing literary works and somehow she managed to open the gates to a new passion. She genuinely wants to see her students succeed and is always willing to talk, whether it's about the course, or just life. Take her, and then take her again after that if you have the chance.
Madame Celli is the best french teacher that I have ever had. She is engaging, makes learning fun, challenges you, and is genuinely one of the nicest people. You can tell that she cares about her students a great deal. I recommend taking any class that you can with her!
she is a nice person but it is hard to do well in the class if you're not already very good at french. the tests are very hard and it is A LOT of information to know. she also takes participation very seriously and won't give you a good grade if you don't answer questions every class. also-don't use your phone in class or you'll lose points
Prof. Celli is one of the nicest professors I have had. She truly wants us to learn French and that comes through in her classes. She really encourages participation, which seems scary at first, but she appreciates the effort even if you make mistakes. If you do the homework exercises, the tests are easy. Definitely would recommend!
Prof. Celli was definitely my favorite professor I had this semester! She's available for help if you need it and she's very approachable. Attendance is important, but she's fun so she makes you want to come to class. She gives homework every night, but it's not a lot and definitely helps with the exams. Kindest professor I've encountered so far!
She is extremely interested in French and very sweet. The exams are hard but she is very approachable for help. Attendance and participation is very important. The first half of the semester you have online homework due every single night which is extremely annoying. Also paid $200 for a textbook that I didn't open once.
One of the nicest professors I have ever had. Very understanding and kind. The class is homework heavy, but can also be used to boost your grade since it's pretty easy. She cares about her students and you can tell she truly wants them to succeed.
Professor Celli is one of the nicest teachers I have had at UD. She makes the class interesting and as fun as possible and you can tell she really wants people to do well. If you come to class, participate and do the work the class is very manageable.
I loved Dr. Celli! She cares so much about her students, her grading guidelines are clear, and she is very engaging during lecture. Take her class if you have the chance!
i absolutely loved Professor Celli. She's so sweet & really accessible outside of class. This was taken for a breath for me and I would easily take her again. Just do the readings she gives because you have reading quizzes about the plot and you'll be fine. 2 exams and final project. loved her and the class
Dr. Celli was a good instructor for FREN107 and cared about her students. She made the classes interesting and involved culture when discussing tenses or other conventions learned at the Intermediate level.
She is really nice and funny but, you need to participate its really important.
An amazing French professor, I went through FREN105 and 106, but if you are going straight from high school to this, it is still really good. She is the sweetest and is very knowledgeable about French. I legitimately enjoyed coming to her class every day, she is very fun and nice
took her for a month long class and she was amazing. by far the best french class ive ever taken. make sure u participate or your grade will suffer.
This class was amazing and so was Prof. Celli! This is a topic she is really passionate about so the class was very fun. Not difficult at all, just have to read a fun short story every few weeks and listen to her lectures.
She is a very good professor/person. Very nice and and genuinely cares about her students.
She is an ANGEL. So kind and caring. Definitely the most I've ever learned in french. There are weekly graded assignments and some online quizzes, but you will be prepared for all of it.
I absolutely adored her. She is so helpful and genuinely wants everyone to do well. She's also just one of the nicest people ever. I took this class because I had to and getting up at 7 every day was hard, but she made it worth it. Cannot recommend her enough, all the raves speak for themselves. She's a wonderful woman who will teach you a ton.
This lady is a QUEEN. I adore her so much. I hate french but I feel like I actually learned and enjoyed coming to this class. She was engaging and intelligent and her class was very well paced. All of the graded assignments and quizzes are fair and there are lots of opportunities to get your grade up.
This class was super easy for me but I think that it depends upon the type of student you are. I took French for 4 years in high school and I thought it was easy. There are assignments online and you can complete them far in advance. She doesn't give exams like other professors do, but she gave in class compositions which were easy to prepare for.
I love madam Celli i'm mad i wont have her as a french teacher. She's so thoughtful about each and everyone of her students. I learned more in her class than i did taking 4 years of french in highschool. I have trouble with french tenses but i understood them about more in her class. Madame celli je t'adore :)
I loved this class and the teacher. Assignments were frequent but not difficult. Attendance and participation are mandatory for a good grade. If you have taken high school french this class should be mostly a refresher course.
never been good at learning languages but felt like this was the first french class i actually learned something. did well even though i'm not the best at french. she is very understanding and wants everyone to do well. tries her best to give as many points as possible on assignments. no exams, just in class writing assignments.
I enjoyed this class but severely underestimated the amount of effort that would need to be put forth. If you are looking for an easy A but hate reading DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. She is very understanding but her lectures are bland and the topics are uninteresting if you do not care about French literature. Nice lady though.
such a lovely woman. if u need to take french, TAKE HER. i suck at learning foreign language and didn't perform well in the class, but still ended up with a decent grade. she is so kind and understanding, i wish she was my french prof for prior classes bc i actually learned from her style of teaching as opposed to 105 and 106 w diff profs.
Wonderful professor! There is an online textbook that is mandatory for completing lessons on your own time. Attendance is taken, and it really helps to attend class so you don't miss any important information. There is an even amount of homework, quizzes, and in class participation. She will call on everyone at least once each day, so be prepared!
Super nice professor! You can tell she cares for her students and wants them to succeed. Lots of assignments that take minimal time and are good grade boosters. She grades pretty leniently and encourages a fun class setting. Do have to get the online textbook ($$) to do most of the homework.
Professor Celli is a wonderfully kind and understanding teacher. While French can be challenging, her engaging lessons and supportive approach make learning enjoyable. I found Unstuck ai's AI-powered study tools super helpful alongside the textbook for prepping. Definitely take this class if you need French credits!
Dr. Celli is a very kind professor who wants her students to succeed. Showing up and participating will earn you a passing grade and is her main concern. Recommend for those looking to complete their French requirement.
she is a really sweet teacher who is willing to help! there is a lot of homework and tests which can be expected from 107. her class is great, just make sure to speak!
Super super nice. A lot of quizzes and in-class grades, but no big exams. One major group project. I'm only taking French for credit but this is the most enjoyable French class by far!
She is the best professor I have ever had. She is kind, funny, an easy grader, and an amazing teacher and person. If you took French in high school, the class will be a breeze. Otherwise, it may be a bit more challenging but she genuinely will help you and want you to succeed.
Prof. Celli was amazingggg I love her sm. Shes super caring and kind. You can always find her outside of class. She's a pretty nice grader, like I messed up of the final (only a speaking exam worth 10% of total grade) but she still gave me a 92%. Would 100% take her class again. Pls pls pls take this class if you need the French cred.
