Lectures are fun because she has such a great sense of humor. She uses old tests from an old book, so there are always questions that aren't in the textbook. She tries to go over it all in class, but usually misses something, so there are always questions that are out-of-the-blue. I'd re-take her, though.

She's a pretty good teacher. Her tests are tough, but if you study it's not so bad. I had to take nutrition as a requirement, so I was not interested in the first place, but if you like Nutrition, take her class, it's not too hard.

Loved her... thought she was AWESOME. Terrific sense of Humor (always kept us laughing) which really helped to hold our attention/interest. Would definetely recommend her to fellow students and would definitely take her again in the future. Also extremely knowlegable about subject matter.

She know her stuff and makes labs fun and easy. As long as you do the reading you will do fine on the tests and understanding the lectures. Enjoyed her class would defiantly recommend taking her class. I found the class extremely easy cause i took physiology before.

One of my favorite professors! Shes is very down to earth, very helpful and does a GREAT job teaching the material. Her tests are very straight forward and prepares you well for practicles. She is one of the only professors ive had that really cares if you understand the material and really wants you to do well in her class.I highly Recomend Her!

She is so smart and obviously knows what she's talking about. I just started taking a class with her and I think the people who say she is critical are just feeding off their own insecurities of being useless, because she is so helpful and patient if you have a question. Plus she is funny and makes the material easy to learn.

Dr. Kaufman was AMAZING!! I had her last spring and she made me love biology. After taking her course I decided I wanted to major in biology. She makes everything fun and interesting throughout the semester. She is very understanding and is helpful as long as you are willing to work hard. I got in an A in her course, but it took alot of work!

Dr Kaufman was amazing!! She is so funny and knows how to teach. Very helpful and teaches things that can be used in real life. FYI people who dont like her most likely never attended her class and she FAILED them hahaha :) and they deserved it, she is a mad cool Prof.

She is absolutely awesome. She is really funny, and keeps class interesting. You do have to do a lot of outside work on your own, but it only helps you that much more on the tests. She wantes everyone to do well, and she doesn't move on until everyone understands. She is a teacher that everyone should have at least once.

she explains topics in multiple ways that helps with different learning styles, but does expect leg work. homework is relevent to what is tested

Dr. Kauffman is an awesome instructor. She is very humorous and doesn't put up with crap from disruptive students. If you are taking the class to learn, go for it. If you are taking it to socialize, you will not be happy. Only complaint is the lab practicals. The slide show deal was highly annoying.

She is very funny and absolutely loves what she teaches. she is always saying, "isnt that just so interesting" lol im surprised how much i love this class. she is very informative and wants you to pass. she ALWAYS responds to emails and her study guides for exams are the best. I actually dont even mind taking her exams.everyone i know loves her

One of my first professors at mcc. Absolutely my favorite. It will be hard to find a teacher who will top dr. K. She was very funny and made all the material very interesting. She uses a lot of slides during class which was great to have a visual.

Easily the best professor I've ever had. It is a difficult class, but she makes it a lot easier to pay attention due to her sense of humor and all around intelligence. She always makes class interesting and does everything she can to allow her students to earn their desired grade.

One of the best teachers hands down. She is always willing to help no matter what. Provides many different sources to make sure you do well and learn the material. If you study for her tests and ask questions if you're still unsure of somethings, you'll do great in her class.

Very interesting class, professor has a lot of good info & stories. Does not have much patience for rude students who talk during class & don't follow directions during lab. She is willing to share her knowledge with the students that care. Review guides were helpful for the tests. Labs were great, how often do you get to manipulate bacterial DNA?

Very helpful professor. she doesn't provide many extra credit through the course. I was very pleased with her performance and dedication. she is a tough grader tho, but gives chances to make up assignments and homework. Very well organized and sense making grades for assignments homework and quizzes. Nothing to worry about but keeping up with her.

I absolutely loved taking her class. She's very intelligent and dedicated to her job. If you try hard in her class, she will try hard to help you with any problems you encounter. There was a large amount of work, but it never got too overbearing. I definitely suggest taking her class if you are genuinely interested in Bio at all.

I think she was an amazing professor. Shes real down to earth, she answers questions. All her work is pretty straightforward and she lets you know what you really need to know vs not needing to know for test. I really liked her.

Amazing women!! Very knowledgeable! Exams are hard, but what do you expect, this is college. If you study, as you should, you would be great. Online homework is only worth 10% of your grade, so you better do great on your exams, only if you want an A. Overall I Loved her lectures, and would take any other class with her!!

Judy is an angel. She is one of the best teachers I've ever had, and probably one of the best I'll ever have. She's really funny, very informative, and knows her stuff. She occasionally goes a little off off topic or on tangents, but often times it's about misconceptions about biology and medicine and therefore still makes you more knowledgeable.

I absolutely loved this class

Dr. Kaufman made the material easy to follow and pick up without to much digging. Her lectures are great because she teaches the whole book but mainly sticks to what is on the test. If you have any interest in Micro she is the teach to have because she absolutely loves the topic and makes it easy to pick.

I have had Dr. K previously at MCC, this course takes the cake. She is always willing to help everyone out, she truly cares about her students. Lectures are always full of life lessons and are fun and interactive. I found that this course was very easy, very helpful PPT. One project at end of semester. Highly recommend Dr. Kaufman!

She has my recommendation! She really cares about the students even (and probably especially) when she's strict. Goes out of her way to try to pass on information to the students and can get really animated about things from someone finding a good volvox to funny stories in our (and her) every day lives. Very clear (and fair) expectations, too.

Professor Kaufman is the best there is! She gives interesting and clear lectures, and always finds ways to tell interesting stories during class or conference. Her review sheets are amazing, and she has clear expectations on assignments. Professor Kaufman also cares about her students at a level that is hard to believe - truly above and beyond!

I had her for General Bio 1 and she was the obvious choice for Micro. Probably holds one of the highest degrees in the department (a PhD), but she still will chat with students outside of class. I think her favorite class to teach is Micro, so make sure to take her for that.

One of the best at MCC. Micro is not an easy class, you need to put the time and work in to succeed, but Kaufman gives you all the tools you need to do well. Her study guides for exams are excellent. Absolutely clear in lectures about what you need to know. Her sarcastic sense of humor is great too- made labs fun. Highly recommend!

Honestly, Choose Dr. Kaufman and look no further. I absolutely adored her. Always looked forward to going to her class. She can make the most complicated material so simple to understand. Make sure to take notes on what she talks about, not exactly the power-points. Everything she talks about when teaching are on the tests, very easy.

She's an amazing professor. Tough, yet helpful and has the ultimate goal of helping you achieve. Any questions you have, she will answer and she's freaking hilarious. Do not take this class if you are thin skinned. She's a tough woman.

by far the best professor ive ever had, she uses powerpoints to teach her nutrition course but explains them very well and will use examples to make sure everyone understands. She has a good sense of humor but expects the same from her students, so dont take her class if you get offended easily because she might pick on you for a stupid question.

She lectures on PowerPoints but it is never dry and boring and specifies on what you should know. There is one project, not difficult at all (someone said it was?). You track your diet and then analyze your results. All broken down for you. Tests are not too hard, neither are quizzes. Allowed me to take a quiz another day due to an appointment

Dr Kaufmann is by far one of the best professors I have had. She has been teaching here for years and knows her stuff. She loves class participation and is very eager to help you understand the material. Not to mention, she is hilarious! If you have an opportunity to take her class, do it!

one of the few awesome professors in MCC. she made cell respiration and photosynthesis a walk in the park for me! she's funny and straightforward (but that's just how she is). You will learn alot! She mentioned she will be retiring soon so better get her as one of your BIO professors before she leaves! I wish I could take more bio classes with her
