best class i've had on campus, i learned more than in any other and her tests were hard enought to earn from but definetely easy enough to get a good grade..if all were like her, i'd want to stay in school

She made this class so fun and interesting. Be sure to come to class, she takes attendance on days there are a lot of people missing.

Effective teacher. Makes the material understandable. A truly good teacher. Was also a good teacher in Sociology 201. Is doing Sociological research in China right now.

She was the reason I chose sociology as my minor. Excellent, I actually remember her lectures four years later

Dr. Maynard is very entertaining. She makes her class fun. Take notes and study for the tests and you'll do just fine.

She is easy, but very liberal. She always finds a reason to tear down religion and republicans. She tells interesting stories about her trip to China.

She's a good teacher, explains the info very well. You dont have to buy the book, she writes down all the info from the book on the board. Her class lectures are great! She's very funny and tells the funniest stories from her trip to China. Take her!!

Great teacher! I never get bored during class. Lectures and discussions are always very interesting. Tests are not very hard...all it takes is a little time and effort. It is fun to hear everyones different views and opinions.

I thought her exams were ridiculously easy - I only studied the night before the exam and made all A's. Only tests over what's covered and uses great interactive examples. Lectures are entertaining; mixes in her politics but always includes a disclaimer.

She is the funniest teacher ever! If you study your notes and come to class for the 5-pointers then you will be just fine! People complain about her not giving a study guide but as she says, this is college people! As long as you are mature and responsible and not always late, you'll be fine!

If you are a slacker or moron, please don't take her as she will eat you alive. However, if you like to learn about Soc or Anthro and have an open mind, she's a wonderful prof. Again though, many students here are mental midgets who could make an A in butt wiping 101. They annoy her, me too!

She's a really easy teacher, study your notes and you'll get an A. My only problem with her is that she talks about her political opinions way too much and doesn't even research the stuff she brings up.

One of the best profs on campus. She is definitely NOT biased or stereotypical. I don't know where you got that. If you get called out it's probably your own fault. I was NEVER bored in class. I don't see how any true college student with a brain could be. I loved the class.

She is one of the best teachers ever! She's only hard if you don't study...which a lot of people don't and so they whine about it. Suck it up you wimps! She does go on rants sometimes, but they are often on the subject that we're discussing. My advice: take her, you'll be missing out if you don't.

TAKE THIS TEACHER. There's never a boring moment, and the tests are over the notes. She tends to ramble sometimes, but the diversion is a nice break, then she gets back on track. No homework, no quzzes, she gives extra credit, and only 3 exams with a non-comprehensive final. It's great!

She is wonderful and so full of knowledge. She is also one of the few teachers on campus willing to talk about current events. If you can, take Dr. Maynard. She will make such a difference in your life.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!! Class time is such a mind opening experience, you learn without being drilled. I wanted to go to class. Very clear on notes, three tests total. This has been a real eye opening class for me.I've been on this campus for 3 years now and I've never had a teacher this involved and connected to the world around us. And she brings it to the classroom. I would recommend her to anyone. (4tests including final that is NOT comprehensive and the 5point extra credit for attendance really helps!)

awesome teacher i would have to say the best one one campus! she brings the real world into the classroom and keep everyone up to date with everything and makes it relevant to the class. recommended a lot! always there with a smile and never a dull moment! easy going class but make sure you study your notes b4 a test and you'll do fine!

Dr. Maynard is definatly a knowledgable teacher. Her class lectures can be interesting, for the most part. She adds a lot a liberal opinions into it. I don't believe she's just "playing devil's advocate". Her tests are hard if you don't study. She's not a bad teacher though. I like the order she keeps in her classroom.

Great professor with great knowledge and experience. lectures are interesting, notes flow continuously, and class discussion is welcomed. The most amazing teacher i have ever had. She is my hero. She is awsome. Easy tests and no mandatory attendance. You should attend class cause the test is right off the notes. extremley helpful. Not leanient on make up tests. but freakin awsome. So funny

I loved Ms. Maynard. She isn't hard-if you pay attention. Tests can seem a little tricky, but aren't bad if you know your stuff. She is absolutely hilarious. Take her in the summer--she's a blast.

Her test are very easy, but you have to take notes really really good, meaning write everything she says. the test is directly from the notes, 3 or 4 question from the textbook, but easy to guess. dont buy the book. GO TO CLASS. 5PT QUIZ ARE HELPFUL TO YOUR GRADE. she give answer to the quiz. FUNNY!!

Maynard is pretty cool. I've taken her before and she will always keep you awake (maybe even make your head hurt from the high pitched talking). There were two books, but they were article type books that were very easy to read. Tests were cake. Aside from always telling stories about her personal life I think she is a wonderful professor

I loved Dr. Maynard! She's a really animated and fun teacher, but you have to pay attention if you want to get anything out of the class. The tests (which are not too tough) come straight from her notes, and as long as you attend class, you should be fine. She always tells hilarious stories and was great to have for intro sociology!

I took her for the 201 online class and thought it was pretty easy. You just have questions for each chapter and be sure you write more than a couple of sentences. Basically those questions are your test. I would take her again.

Dr. Maynard is one of those kooky, old, semi-absentminded professors that you never forget about. She always tells hilarious stories while cutting the flak out of the history and terminology of Sociology. Her grading scale is somewhat strange (90-110 = A), but she tests straight from her notes. Come to class, review your notes, and you're fine!

I enjoyed every class that Judy Maynard taught. She makes you understand using real life situations. She makes sociology interesting. I even changed my major to sociology because I enjoyed her class. You will have to study, but as long as you attend class and pay attention, you will get a good grade. This is one of the best teachers at UTM!

Her tests are easy and usually come straight from her notes. She keeps the class interesting, but she is not at all afraid to state her opinion on anything or anyone. Overall, she's great. Love her!

She is a wonderful teacher! I love her. She keeps class interesting &fun. Tests mostly come from your notes, but she pulls some material from the book. She encouraged us to do well on 2papers for this class,&you can always reach her via email or you can stop by her office. She does speak her mind but so long as you respect her, she will respect you

If you dont come to class you can fail point blank period..so come to class it is easy

I liked her a lot!! She is funny and makes the class interesting. Make sure you attend class FREQUENTLY because she gives five point quizzes often if class attendance is low. Overall, her tests are easy if you review all the notes and glance over the book chapters. 80% of test material comes from notes and the other 20% comes from the book.

Dr. Maynard is very strict about having cell phones out in class so just turn it off and put it away because she is a very interesting teacher and you will get a whole lot out of her class but be sure to TAKE NOTES! Because that is what most of the test questions will come from.

Dr. Maynard is outstanding! I absolutely love her class. She is very enjoyable to listen to. Her tests are not hard if you know your notes inside and out. She includes a few questions from the book. She is nice to everyone. It is the people who don't care and that miss class and are on their phones who hate her because she stands her ground! Great!

I really loved Dr. Maynard. The class was very hard, but extremely interesting, and Dr. Maynard is pretty eccentric as well. I only wish I could have taken more of her classes
