I took her online class, and even though it's easy to procrastinate when doing so, this was such an easy class to pass. She's amazing at telling you exactly what you need to do to get certain grades. Quizes are once a week, but you get to take them as many times as you want, and she reopens quizzes you missed twice without penalty. Best online!
Absolutely awesome class! She makes all assignments very interesting and is very clear about what she expects.
Easy A! She is very to the point. Just make sure you do all the quizes and do the one sentence responses and you have an a.
She tells you what you need to turn in and do to get an A, B, or C. You can only fail this class by not doing the easy work and you dont need to be in college if you cant do her work.I choose the B path. Which is doing all quizes and answering discussion question that are short answer. If your taking a big load and need an easy class this is it.
Wow. This class was so easy. It is spelled out to you. If you want a C all you have to do is make 240 points on your quizes. They are online. If you want a B you have to make 240 on quizes and do 10 of the 15 one paragraph discussions which are your opinion. If you want an A you have to write 10 of the 15 one page papers. What an easy a or b!!!
very easy class and interesting.. take this class if you want an A. it is online and you have all your notes right in front of you.. its so easy and you can retake the quizzes over and over again.
Very easy class. The teacher was very helpful if you have any problems. If you want a easy A take this class. (online)
You know exactly what you need to complete to get the grade you desire. She always responded very quickly to questions when I e-mailed her.
great teacher easy class
This online class is so easy. Its just a bit of work every week if you want to get an A, because you have to do all the quizzes, do all the discussions, and do 10 of the 16 papers (they are 1-2 page papers). All the work is easy, but its time consuming. You can take the quizzes as many times as u wish.
If you need a science credit, take this class. She responds quickly to emails and she tells you EXACTLY what need to do in order to get the grade you want. The only thing is that if you're aiming for an A you have to write at least ten 1-2 page single-spaced papers, and they can be very time-consuming.
True, what you need to do to get each grade is laid out for you. However, if you're looking to get an easy A for science, and need to take an online course for it, I'd take another. Passing the class is easy, but getting an A is time consuming. And the quizzes aren't a "give me." You have to also do responses for a B, and do a lot of work for an A.
she must have a stick up her ass because she is really rude. dont ever have two words in a row from online sites because she will accuse you of plagiarizing.
Online class-Very rude when answering to emails...easy class..1 assigment, quizz, and discussion weekly...easy class..i got B+ without trying
Not an Easy A. If you wanted an easy A, take the class on campus. For an A+, must write 12-16 papers, and respond to 15 out of 16 discussions as well as take the required 16 quizzes. There is rarely any interaction with Prof. Harden. Be aware of Safe Assignment and turn in your papers early to avoid matching sentences with other students.
This is an online course. It is relitively easy but time consuming. The professor is very communicative and grades fairly. There are 15 online exams (one or two ea week), 10/16 (for an A) of discussions, and 10/15 (for an A) of exercises (1-2 pg summaries of online stuff). It's an easy A if you work hard and make the effort.
First of all, it's an online course. Second of all, she lays out everything you need for the grade you want on the syllabus! It really couldn't be easier! She is super nice and it's an easy A, just set aside time for it and make deadlines...easy as that!
Easy-ish Science req. I got a C just b/c I didn't have time to do everything. Just to get a C you had to do every quiz. It was really time consuming. I was taking 4 other classes this semester and working full time. So I am happy with my C it means my Gen Eds are done. Though I would take astronomy if you want something more engaging.
Online course was time consuming but easy. You just have to work to get the A. What was good about this course was that you could work ahead and finish the course in a month and be done with it and have the grade you want. She had a set syllabus so you don't have to wonder about your grade. Overall, a good online class to take.
She is very helpful and the online class is a great way to go.
I took it online, you get EXACTLY what you put in. I slacked and didnt do so great but if I tried harder I know I could have easily gotten an A
excellent
You get what you work for. Study and read the book for good grade. Very caring teacher, and tries to keep class interesting.
You get the grade you worked for.Papers are simple! She is not very helpful!!!! Her office hours are a waste because she is either to busy, or is out of the country! She waits last minute to give any infomation (esp. about the final exam) She didn't tell give any info about the final until the day of! DON'T TAKE HER ONLINE!!!!!!!
First of all the written assingments are far too lenghty and numerous for a non-gordon rule, lower level class. second of all she takes FOREVER to respond to emails (e****ally if shes out of the country while teaching a class). for the final where we were only allowed 2 hrs she was not in the office to help lockouts..SHE WAS AT HOME! dont take her
Only gave us 50 minutes for a 50 question exam on 11 chapters and told us on the day of exam! She isn't helpful at all when it comes to locks, or office hours, and e-mails!!!! Always has something coming up whether it be vacation, or doctors appt. DONT TAKE HER CLASS unless you want to waste 300 + dollars for a teacher who isn't helpful!
Not an easy class, but Professor Harden is awesome!
She is the best! Take all her classes. You will learn and have a lot of fun.
She is a good professor who tests straight from her lectures. Tests were multiple choice and fairly easy. Also very nice.
She rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting class and cool material. Extremely helpful even when she was out of the country on NSF trip. Always responded to all of my emails very quickly and one time opened a quiz up just for me that I had been locked out of. Great on-line class.
This class was really easy. The tests were straight from the book and easy. The assignments took a little while to write, but all you have to do is look at the websites she gives you. If you have a question, she is very quick to answer it. She is really nice and very helpful. I reccomend the class!
Not a hard class. Make sure you keep up with the assignments and you'll do fine. Quizzes come directly from the book. Assignments are long, 1-2 pages of writing single space. Teacher is really nice! You should have no problem getting an A if you do all assignments on time and do decent on the quizzes. Final is not bad at all.
The section I had, had mandatory attendance, 1 time a week for 1 hour. The class was really easy to understand and it is obvious what the teacher wanted from us. Do the assignments and quizes and you'll do fine. Professor extremely helpful if needed. The first assignment was long and hard, but after that everything wuz easy I recommend for sure!!
A wonderful Professor. Cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She tries to makes the material interesting. Very passionate about her job. Tests are multiple choice, drops lowest exam. Pay attention to her lectures, study, and you should do well. Reviews are fun. Highly recommended!
Took the course online. Quiz & assignment due every week. Lowest quiz/assignment grade gets dropped. Questions straight from chapter but not just on general terms. She does get specific with park features, so make sure to take detailed notes. Final a bit challenging. Assignments are ok. Decent amount of dedication should get an A. Overall nice Prof
Online class, Weekly 2 page single spaced papers and 10 question quizzes. you need the book for the quizzes. Some of the assignments get confusing, but if you email her she is not very helpful and tells you to look at the syllabus. Not too hard of a class but it is a lot of busy work type assignments. There is also a final exam but it is easy
Never saw the teacher (took it online). All depends on how cool ur T.A. is-- only interaction I had was when she cleared my Bb quiz for me (twice).. so that was cool of her. She is really into the subject, and expects a lot out of you-- but attempts to make the material interesting.
I had to drop this class, because their was too much busy work. The class was Geology and the National Parks, and I took it because I only needed an easy elective. Well, I did more work in that class than in any of my senior level courses! To be fair, I liked the professor, but I couldn't stand the course! OMG- papers after papers!
This teacher is terrible. Stay away. She doesn't help you and expects you to know what your doing. On assigments she'll give critical thinking questions and gives you sooo many points off for what isn't right. she is trying at this moment to get ppl for academic dishonesty when SHE posted answers to an assignment online.
Good teacher! Fair. You have to work for your A. If you're not a geology major you may be borrred!
I LOVE THIS TEACHER. As I found out towards the end of the year, she is willing to go above and beyond to help you. Always go see her in her office hours she will explain anything to you that you don't understand. Exercises are VERY important make sure to do well on those. She makes you want to know more about earth....SHE ROCKS! (haha)
Outstanding
Dr. McIlrath is obviously very knowledgeable. I took Geology of National Parks online. Science is not my forte so I took it as a pass/fail and passed with a 73. She answers e-mail questions super fast and is always helpful. There was a lot of use of Excel spreadsheets so I would not recommend this course for someone who is afraid of Excel.
This class was so interesting. You have to really come to class to understand the activities assigned and the material. She really cares.
Her class is really easy to understand. Her tests are easy as long as you go over the powerpoints. She is really knowledgeable and she makes these little corny jokes. Really enjoyed this class.
Professor McIlrath's online oceanography class was really easy. She was available to answer any questions I had. I would recommend her online class if you can take it.
Had Professor McIlrath for Earth Science at HCC this term. Classes are interesting and super awesome! If I was going into geology I would take another of her classes in a heartbeat.
Great teacher, online class was easy. Found the quizzes to be kind of hard, but as long as you read the text, it isn't too bad. The essays are super easy. I finished her online course 2 months before the semester was over. Definitely recommend.
This class was fairly simple. There was an online quiz every wednesday from the reading in the book. Sometimes you didnt even need to read (common sense stuff). The writing assignments were annoying, but overall this was a very simple class. TAKE ONLINE COURSE!
I took this online class on a whim and ended up changing my major! She is a fantastic person and shows more enthusiasm for her subject than any professor I've ever met. We had weekly quizzes from the book and weekly assignments from her power points. It was quite a bit of reading, writing and use of excel spreadsheets but SO worth it!
She is a great teacher who really cares about her students. The TA's can be kind of critical on the papers though.
If you need a science credit take her class online! Very interesting stuff. Weekly quizzes 10 questions long(2 chances)and papers (half a page or one single spaced). There are extra credit assignments available if you miss test or do bad on the test/papers. Learned a lot even though it was just a prereq course.
Very picky about details. Took the class online. Weekly quizzes are easy if you read the chapter. Writings need to be super detailed.
Easiest science class ever. Only used the book for the quizzes. Papers only took me an hour to do. 2 extra credit options that gave you a HUGE boost; ended up not taking the quizzes and still got an A+ b/c I wrote well. Take this class if you need a Physical Science
This was an online course and I really enjoyed it. Even though the class was environmental in nature, there was no political undertones. It was just a class about the oceans. Easy A if you read the text. TONS of extra credit...Take this course if you need to fulfill a physical science.
She is so passionate about what she does, it makes it a lot easier to understand the material. Some is very dry and repetative material but it can be very interesting. She is very helpful throughtout the semester, and yes she loves to use excel. But the first time she does she is helpful on how to use it.I would definately advise to take her class!
I took her class at HCC with the lab. The lab was not fun but it was the book not her. The tests were sometimes hard sometimes not. If you study, you will do well in this class and probably get an A. I really enjoyed Prof. Mcilrath. She is very passionate about what she teaches. If she taught anything else I needed I would take her again.
Great class! Took only to satisfy science requirement but ended up learning a lot and found it very interesting! Professor McIlrath's passion makes this a great class to take online. I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone. Do all the online quizzes in the first few days and you will find the workload to be easier later in the semester.
Class was very interesting. A LOT of note taking. Lecture based. Textbook came in handy when studying for test. Usually 4 chapters per test. Very passionate about what she is teaching. I enjoyed what I learned.
I took this class last minute because it was a requirement but actually enjoy it. She is great and super passionate about geology. The tests are easy if you study the powerpoints and if you do the MAYA project you do not have to take the final :) Great class, actually learned something!
DO NOT TAKE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY ONLINE CLASS. Quizzes are nearly impossible without having your book right next to you and activities are way harder than a 2000 level course should be. This class too way more time than any of my actual major classes. Absolutely ridiculous do not take!!!!
This class is graded as a writing class and the work is very extensive. although I took this during summer class the instructions are long and very time consuming. She also has TA's grade all her work which is annoying since they always grade harder. The quizes are easy and you can take as many times as you want but there are only 10Q= 10 pts
Wonderful professor! She shows great passion in her work and in her class. It is structured nicely for online learning and is very easy to understand. Overall, it was a great experience!
Judy is so funny and despite not liking the class, she made it fun to go to. She's done a lot of neat things and she shares her personal experiences through her lectures which is super awesome. She's very passionate about what she does and is definitely in the right profession! You don't need the textbook, and tests are pretty easy.
Although I hated the actual information we were learning in class, McIIrath made it bearable. She is super passionate about what she does and makes it interesting for people who don't like the material. She will also do absolutely anything to help out a student in need. Her tests are relatively easy as well.
Judy cares about you and she is passionate about the subject. I swear she's made of 100% sunshine, she's so sweet. The class is mainly reading and memorization. I didn't attend class a few times, studied 4 chapters the night before and made an 4650 on the test. It helps if you go to the lectures she is humorous and has tons of stories. Took 4 FKL
I really enjoyed her class! She's very passionate and knowledgable and is always there to help. She's also very clear about exam material. 4 exams, final, a few assignments, and a group project. Depending on which project you choose you can drop a low exam score or be exempt from the final. I wish she taught higher level classes!
Ms. McIlrath was an excellent teacher to me during my time at USF. I took two of her physcial science courses as open electives, Geology of our National Parks being one of them. Very informative, not reading heavy, but activity heavy. Activities aren't hard if you focus on them and put in the effort that is required and deserved. I recommend!
One term project and a few tests. She's so funny and has done lots of cool things - she includes her own pictures and videos in powerpoints. She has a lot of fun and so do you if you show up to lecture. Lots of notes, but straightforward.
Lecture based class. McIlrath is in love with geology, and it shows. Don't get the textbook, all lectures are on Canvas. Study the material and you'll be ok on tests. Attendance is not required but it makes doing well a lot easier. Answers emails promptly and is willing to help
Not really clear what to know for the tests, so study all slides. I didn't use my book, although studying from that could be helpful too. She loves what she does and it shows. She's very nice and get gets to know everyones names. I learned a lot in this class. If you do a term project, then you don't have to take the final exam.
This class is terrible if you are not interested in geology and aren't majoring in the field. The tests are difficult to get an A on even if you study. The project dead lines and criteria are very unclear too. Judy is a nice lady but wastes time telling stories and does not make the make the material easy or fun to learn about. DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK
Judy was my favorite professor this semester. She is hilarious and an amazing teacher. She is very clear about what she teaches and she knows what she is talking about. There is one group project in this class but it isn't hard at all. Make sure you go to class every time and take notes, because the tests are pretty tough without being at lectures.
Barely went to class, and got B's on all the tests. If you read the chapters, the tests will be easy.
I don't even like science classes but she made this class so much fun! She really cares about you if you show that you try and although the subject might be hard, it's not impossible to learn. Her lectures were interesting and it's definitely important to take notes and go over the book a bit. Overall she is an amazing person and professor.
Great teacher, she obviously cares about Geology and made the subject more interesting than I thought it would be. There's a couple homework assignments, 4 exams and a term project. If you do the 3d project, you don't need to do the final. One thing I do have to add is that she goes fast on slides, so have a fast writing hand ready for lectures.
LOVED HER! great lectures, really interesting to listen to. Shes such a sweet person.
She is one of the most passionate sweetest caring lovely professors I have ever had. Im an econ major with no interest in earth science but she makes her lectures bearable. I cant get over how lovely she is! She's funny and tries very hard to actually get to know you. I would take her again for anything.
She is the most amazing teacher I have ever had in college. She cares, she's funny, and she plans field trips! She cares a lot about her students and cares that they do well. She is always available to meet with students, and she explains things well and clearly. I would take her again in a heartbeat if I could! If you need to take this class, and you don't know what professor to take, TAKE HER.
Honestly, reading the reviews, I thought I would enjoy this class. I absolutely disliked it, Judy could care less about the subject, she spent more time talking about herself than anything else, in addition she had a bad attitude every day and was rude when anyone would ask her questions. I wouldn't recommend taking Earth Science with her!
In my second semester at USF I have to say Judy is my favorite professor so far, and I'm not even a Geology major. The class itself can be rather boring at times, but Judy makes it as fun and entertaining as possible. It's not a show up and get an A class, but go to class and look at your notes before exam day and its an easy A.
Judy was a very caring and interesting professor. She clearly has a lot of passion for Earth Science and it's very admirable. Her dedication to teaching students to also love the Earth shows through. Attendance isn't mandatory and her tests are based off online quizzes. She recommends reading the book (which I do too) but no graded stuff from it.
Judy is such an inspirational person. Always preaching about making a difference in the world. Class is not hard at all, read the book and take the quizzes as many times as you can. Some of the excel H.W were kind of tricky but in general it was an easy class.
Judy by far is one of my favourite teachers ever. Even tho geology is a boring topic, she has enjoyable lectures, she's funny & always available for office hours. Usually curves tests, but sometimes the hw takes forever if you don't have right programming for computer. Would highly recommend to get life science credit completed.
Great!
Judy was easily the greatest professor ever. She was extremely engaging and knowledgeable on what she taught. She never managed to lose my attention, always keeping her lectures inspiring and fun. There is quite a bit of material to the class, so there will be points where it feels rushed. Though, that may be due to this years hurricane...
Judy McIlrath is the one of the best on the planet. She is just great. There really isn't any other way to describe her. I cannot say it enough.
Judy is very fair in her grading and how she sets up exams. To pass the class, study the quizzes she posts on canvas and many of the questions there show up again on the exam. Also, there are a couple home work assignments that are straight-forward. She is hilarious and keeps the lectures interesting :)
Judy McIlrath is the greatest professor. She is caring, funny, knowledgable... everything. She keeps geology so interesting and she is just such a motivational human being. She brings light to every day and has the most interesting stories. She really made me love geology. Would take her class 100 times if I could. Highly recommend!!!!
She is a very nice lady, very engaged with the subject. The midterm and final are not hard, and rely heavily on quizzes. The group project can be a pain if you are not lucky with the teammates but it is not too hard overall. The best part of the class was the professor herself.
She is an absolutely amazing professor- she really loves her subject, and she really cares about the students and the quality of the class. She is one of the best professors I have ever had, and if I could, I would take all my classes with her. Absolutely a must-take teacher, esp if you enjoy Earth Science or Geology.
This class was the easiest course I've ever taken. Save all of your quizzes as PDFs because the exams/tests pull directly from them. You can have multiple attempts at all your quizzes as well. Like I said, SUPER easy. I showed up to class 3 times total. Day one, midterm, and final. Got an A+ If you wanna show up though, she is just wonderful!
Judy is a very entertaining teacher. She is good at explaining course material. Show up for class. Take the quizzes and use them to practice for the exams. Warning, this class has a group project, so be prepared to work with others; work together and it is easy. Definitely a fun class.
Judy is my favorite professor so far at USF. I was unsure of myself when I first changed my major to Geology but taking her class definitely helped sell it for me.
Judy is an amazing woman, however, when it comes to lectures and quizzes the material doesn't match up. I had to basically teach myself on certain sections and used quizlet flashcards to study for the quizzes.
Amazing professor. Caring, respectful, and tells great stories. Easy class, attendance isn't mandatory. I went to class because I found myself loving the material and her teaching style. Hardly studied, just review the quizzes before the exam and you'll be fine.
Judy is an amazing professor, she cares for all of her students and wants you to be successful. Her lectures are fun and interesting, even if you don't like Geology . She also gives plenty of opportunities to be evolved outside of the classroom. The group project is a big part of your grade but is not too difficult. Easily my favorite professor!
Judy is the best professor I have had. She explains content very well and is willing to help with any confusion, no matter how dumb it sounds. She passes around samples so students can visualize lectures, which helps a lot, and almost all the pictures in her lectures are her own. Go to office hours and create a rapport; it helps in the long run.
TAKE HER!! I took her Intro Earth Sci and it was amazing. She obviously loves what she teaches & knows so much about the material. She's understanding, kind, and makes the material sO easy to understand and fun to learn! Highly recommend this class. If you stay on top of readings and go to lecture you should do well on the quizzes and (2) tests.
Wonderful person, I would love to take her other classes if they matched with my major. Her lectures are entertaining and easy to understand, she includes a lot of inspiring personal stories that help you get to know her better. She's easy on the grading, lot's of easy quizzes (as long as you attend the lectures)
Easy professor, easy class, entertaining lecture.
Prof Judy was a real gem. You could tell she was really passionate about earth science. She was also pretty funny and had a lot of cool stories to tell. Overall, it was a super laid back kind of course.
An incredible instructor. If I could I would take her for class every semester. Highly recommend!
Ms. Judy was very kind and you could tell she loves teaching. Class was interesting, but often gets off topic. Attend her lectures and study the quizzes/GLEs to be successful. Two exams and the quizzes are for you to learn so she gives you unlimited attempts.
Ms. Judy's lectures were not mandatory, but I would suggest attending since she doesn't post her PowerPoints. Lectures turned into stories about her life that didn't relate to lecture. The quizzes and GLES are easy to get 100% on all of them. Midterm and final make up most of your grade. Study from the quizzes and you will be fine.
Professor McIlrath is great! I've taken her Life Science class and her Intro to Physical Geology class, both online, and I've loved them both so much. Her lectures are so interesting and full of stories from the field. The workload is 2 exams, weekly lecture quizzes with unlimited tries, and a few worksheets on recurrence intervals etc
Judy is great! Her lectures incorporate a lot of her own stories, which can be frustrating because it cuts into the content and then you have to read the book, but they are fun to hear. She is kind and always asks students about their weekends. There are quizzes for every chapter with unlimited tries, a few easy assignments, a midterm, and a final.
Dr. McIlrath is a wonderful professor. She is very passionate about what she teaches and makes the lectures interesting by adding her own personal stories. I took her honors class on the geology of the national parks and it was fun and fairly easy. There were a few written assignments, a book to read, and a partner term project.
I love Judy! She is so funny, and often tells stories, but they always relate back to the lecture and even often helped me better understand the material. Her TA grades all the work, but thats okay. GLY2010 is the easiest class ive ever taken. You have to try really hard to not get a high B or A. Definitely recommend any class she teaches.
She is an amazing professor! Knows a lot about the subjuect and makes the class very interesting. She provides a lot of materials for studying and it is really easy to get a good grade.
This course is pretty interesting and very easy. She posts flashcards on canvas and you are able to retake quizzes as many times as you need to. Which makes it very easy to study for the final and made it really easy to do well in the class.
Very kind teacher who takes her field very seriously and loves to share her ideas. The class is easy class aside from the exams. The Exams are weighted extremely heavily and are random 50 questions making it difficult to study for.
Judy is very knowledgeable about geology, and you can tell she loves what she teaches. Lectures were interesting and engaging, she always had a great story about her adventures! She lets you take the quizzes multiple times if needed! Tests are weighted heavily and the test questions are mostly random, read and use the textbook to study for them!!
Amazing professor and course! Not hard at all, just pay attention in class and do the quizzes/GLEs/exercises. Always has great pictures and experiences to share and despite some reviews saying that they're off topic, they're actually not! They always relate to the chapter being done, making it great to see the theory being learnt in real life.
Ms. Judy is such a good professor! She has had great experiences and uses them to help teach lessons. You can take the quizzes until you get a 100, and there is little homework. Exams are passable if you study the quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is helpful to success. She is very kind and understanding if you regularly attend class.
Most of work is simply coming to class and listening to lecture. Lecture made more entertaining by her experiences and stories. Quizzes have no due date and can be retaken till 100%. Exams are easy if you study quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but will help your relationship with her. Very kind and understanding if you regularly attend class.
Miss Judy is a literal gem. She is so knowledgable about geology, and it so easy to see that she loves what she does. She replies to emails really quick and is very accommodating if you have any issues with the class material.
Great lady, easy class, crazy stories, few homework assignments, and a final project with a partner. Would totally take again.
Judy was amazing!! Shes so personable, sweet, and tells so many cute anecdotes throughout her lectures. I loved when she says "And that was a good day in the life of Judy:)" I took the travel trip as well, and it was one of the best experiences ever. I would rate her 6/5 if I could
A lot of the assignments you can hand in late and take little effort. Good teacher, however exams are difficult if you aren't in class and paying attention
This class was very boring, and the professor was even less engaging. It was a pain sitting in this class twice a week. Unless you have to take this class, I would strongly suggest you don't.
This class is one of the worst classes I have ever taken. If you are a bad test taker DO NOT take this class. With only a midterm and a final being 50% of your grade, it isn't easy. She doesn't split it up into multiple different tests like others may. I'm studying for the final right now and currently have 300+ flashcards about rocks and volcanoes
My first ever course at USF and I have nothing but positives for this class. Judy is amazing. Very knowledgeable on Geology and tries her best to make sure her students are as well. Course itself takes a little bit of dedication admittedly, but it is completely tolerable if you pay attention in class.
Ms. Judy is an amazing person and very sweet. Attendence is strict, but very understanding. Homework reflections once a week and final presentation with a partner. The class also includes an optional trip you could go on for credit! Theres a reason no one has recieved lower than a B. Could be hard to pay attention if uninterested in the NPs.
2 exams, worth a lot of your grade. Nice professor but the material is actually kinda hard. Homework and quizzes are light but exams are from the quizzes basically so make sure you study that.
Easy class, easy final and very inspirational professional
Judy is a passionate professor who makes the class engaging with her real-life stories. The workload is manageable, and tools like unstuck AI can complement the textbook for efficient study prep.
Ms. Judy has amazing, engaging lectures where she tells great stories! I really loved her class but the content overall was a lot (22 chapters) and there were a lot of quizzes and assignments that she didn't really go over with you in class so you were left in the dark. Otherwise, easy and fun class with only two exams!
Amazing professor, she infuses her experiences into her classes in an entertaining way. Apart from some things most of assignments have no due dates, midterm and finals are all multiple choice questions. I cannot express just how lovely and passionate in teaching.
Proud to be the 131st review for Professor McIlrath. I came from an Economics background to fulfill my Natural Sciences requirement, and instead, I received practical (and funny) lessons—on both Geology and life—from one of the most passionate professors I've had. She almost made me want to switch majors!
Judy is super nice and understanding! The class is easy as long as you show up, attendance is mandatory, but you don't really have to participate during lectures. Most of your grade is a partner term project (partner is random). She's fair with grading, clear with expectations, and it's an overall low-stress.
Do not take this class if you have absolutely no knowledge about Geography. And to all of my international students out there, if your English is bad, you will feel like you are learning a whole different language. Overall, the professor is nice. Geography just isn't for me.
