The questions on her exams are unclear and hard to understand. She is helpful when needed.
easiest class ever if you know anything about computers and she doesnt care if you skip or leave early. very slow teacher, but expects everyone to understand what she's saying, if you don't you're in trouble
very good teacher. tries to help if you want . easy to get an A
I got an A. if you take a seat everyclass. you don't have to worry about your grade. if you don't understand. just ask her. she is ready for you!!!
Very very good teacher, she is slow though, but makes up for it with her grading and her ease of projects and clarity of teaching.
She is one of the nicest and kindest teachers at Annandale campus. She does not mind staying after class to help you with your assignments. She gives you homeworks almost every class, but they are really fun to work on. Strongly recommended for ITD students.
Yeah she is bad
Easy subject, nice teacher. The only thing I didn't like about this class were the textbooks. You almost never use them yet they contain CDs that you need in order to take the test. Greedy publishers! Try going a week or two before you buy the books though...I think she might change the HW requirement so as to not need one of the books.
nice teacher...take her for ITE115, its an easy A
I recommend her to everyone. she is my favorite. she makes the course piece of the cake.
Easy A! Just do your quizzes, in which you would need your book, but they're fairly easy. She teaches very well and is a very nice lady. If you want an A, take this professor!
Easy A....and dont even bother with the text books, I bought both brand new and they are still in the shrink wrap......just don't be late or she will lock you out.
she is easy. as long as you show up to class and turn in things on time, it will be a breaze
first of all, don't buy book. she never uses the book you will have to buy(2books). you would learn many things but you will get confused easily so pay attention to what she does in class. she is really fair grader and will give many extra credits. she is a good teacher.
She doesn't care about students, She thinks everyone knows everything, and moves on so fast. Great if you have already the knowledge of HTML and hands on on the Flash, but if you're a bigginer you will have a hard time !
People that complain about her moving to fast in ITE 170 are only saying that because they did not take 110 or (115?) like they were supposed too. She is straight forward, has her own website for homework etc. and she's easy to learn from.
I don't recommend her for this course at all, yes she's easy if you know the materials specially HTML. Not too good with answering questions, I guess Dr. Pegram is far better than her in teaching this course( my personal opinion)
She's pretty good at relating the material to real world stuff... makes you understand the material better, but class can be kinda boring no joke. For quizzes and tests you're allowed to use notes... Doing the programs can be difficult if you dont understand the material... Other then that she's not too bad, she can be pretty helpful
Loved her!!! She is sooo easy. I enjoyed doing the homework. Her tests are easy if you do the homework. I Don't know why everyone is complaining! Take her for ITE! And she drops two homework grades. If you don't like doing homework, then don't take the class.
Great teacher. Very clear with everything. It may help if you have a general understanding of how to use computers before attending this class. I got an A.
Great teacher. She gives you every chance in the world to succeed and will walk you through if you need it. Very little book use. Good deal of homework, but not too bad. If you get behind, she'll help but not during class hours. You really have to be kinda dumb to fail this course.
VERY good teacher. Theres a lot to learn in this class and she teaches all of it very very well. The class is very easy if your good at working with computers, if not you will do fine in this class and you will learn a lot. Dont buy the book, ive never used it. Really great teacher im very glad i took her class, easy tests, very little homework
Very helpful....do your homework...becauseit helps you pass the test and i assure you you get an A.. One of the best professors EVER...Very nice woman
Great teacher. She is clear explaining and very helpful with any questions. If you do the homework you will learn a lot!
I took her Spring of 2010 and she was very nice! Helpful in any way and wants to make sure students understand how to do the work provided. I would recommend her to anyone!! Awesome professor.
She is really good teacher and do her best to all of students learn material.
This homeworks for this class was a piece of cake, and it counts for 40% of your grade. The tests, on the other hand was on paper and very tough. I am a student who will graduate upon the successful completion of this course, but I am not doing so well on the tests. I hope I graduate.
Homework was very easy, tests were hella difficult. Class was fine. Communication was a a bit tough, I think her cheeks get in the way of her talking. All in all, an excellent teacher.
Judy is a unique person. She's very laid back and calm. She teaches Java her way and she's quite good at it. There are 10 hw assignments worth 40% and 3 tests worth 20% each. If you do the homework right and spend some time alone practicing like I did you'll ace her class and you'll enjoy learning java. If you dont want to work you'll fail. Up 2 u
Do mostly lecture and won't let you take notes on computer at all. It's a damn Java class for god sake! Anyway, expect you to take notes on paper but going over example really quick and her voice doesn't really help since it makes you feel really sleepy. Overall, easier grader and really chill professor.
Judy is an excellent professor, you gonna like the way she teaches. come to class and make sure you do homework which is due 1hr before class. she is very clear on every lecture and you will come out the class very happy. it was my first time taking java I took php before and she mad it easy for me. Thanks Prof. Judy Miller.
She is one of the best professors I've had. I learned so much from her class. But you gotta do the homework to understand stuff and prepare for the tests. The tests were hard. The way she teaches is so clear and she's willing to help students. I loved her class.
This professor is great. I would definitely recommend this professor for any and all classes she offers.
One of the best professors at Nova. At first, she may seem strict and hard but she really knows how to teach, especially a hard subject like java. You will learn a lot from her.
Take her if you are really good at Java programming or else you will regret. Her exams are really tough as she expects we are expert in java and each question is worth 4 to 5 points ie 4 wrong answers means 20 points deducted which is almost C. its not hard class however, her exams might ruin your grade
Easiest class EVER. To all you slackers like me looking for an easy A, sign up NOW. many Assignment but they are not too bad, and Test Quizs are easy if u do the hw ... i believe my final grade was around 95-98% !!!SIGN UP!!!.
very hard class it is better to take another professor
HARD SUBJECT AND PROFESSOR
If you know Java take this professor else take someone else
I signed up for the class knowing it would be difficult however, she really doesn't work with you. The first test is pretty easy but after that if you don't have a grasp on the material your not going to do so well. I would recommend taking someone else just because I'm sure there are professors who are more helpful.
Please, if you cant make the deadlines for the homework or project, DONT TAKE HER. You can be on your death bed but she wont care, she is the type which comes to teach and leave instead of properly educating her students.
Professor Miller is a great teacher in Java. She really exercises good habits and enforces that among her students which slowly grows to be a natural habit. When you attend lectures it really helps with the assignments take notes pay attention put in the work and you'll be guaranteed a pass.
She's awesome and have a lot of knowledge in multimedia applications. If you're taking ITE 170, you should take her class. I wish I could turn back time and took her for my JAVA class - I'd probably learned more than others who taught students to search answers on google. lol
She knows her stuff and also teacher very well, but if you're looking for an easy A this might not be for you.
Its not that she's a bad professor its just that every time she talks i want to punch myself in the face. i cant stand her voice, therefor i dont want to listen to anything she says... save yourself, take this online!
I took ITE 170 with her and I guess I can consider it as a hybrid course because there was only one class meeting a week that lasted 2 hours 40 min. Lecture can be VERY BORING due to the fact of her talking non stop. The subject itself is not hard if you pay attention in class. Every week you will need to do projects on dreamweaver and few exams.
Professor Miller is the nicest professor I've taken for ITE 170. There is one class meeting a week so it is 2 hours and 40 min long. It can be boring when she talks non stop, however, the materials can be straight forward. There is an HTML and CSS assignment to do at home every week. There is 2 exams and a final. She is willing to help her students
I took ITE 170 with professor Miller and only met once a week. She is a really nice and helpful teacher however, it can get really boring when she teaches for a long period of time. The homework isn't bad but she is a tough grader so you cannot make the same mistake on multiple homeworks or else it will hurt you badly.
Professor Miller is the nicest lady ever. She is very nice and also very helpful. All you have to do is show up to class and do work and you will get A. She drops lowest 2 grades at the end of the semester. she is clear about what she expects. MUST TAKE HER.
Professor Miller is a really great professor! She always makes sure everyone is understanding the material and is on the same page. She walks you through everything, homework is super easy, and there were only 3 tests (including the final). Put in a little effort and you're golden.
During the first two weeks of school, I didn't understand why people were giving her such bad reviews. But last week I wasn't able to attend class, so I had to communicate with her via email. And NOW I understand why people hate her. She is SO nitpicky! She will literally fail you if you don't do things her way. (even if ur right too) Horrible prof
100% you will learn a lot of thing!!! She is very nice ! I took 170, I got A. The best teacher!!! If you want to learn ,take her! Exam is not bad !! Only three test . Also , she review the exam.
She is an amazing professor! you will learn a lot of things. I took it in spring, I got A! I learn lot l of thing. Now, even I can help a student with 100 %confidence. if you do your homework, it will be easy the exam. I will tell you the truth if you do your homework you will get easy A.
Professor Miller teaches how us military members like to call "barney style." Her class is very basic and everything is at a slow pace. She does a great job making difficult tasks become easy. HW took 15 minutes a week and tests were incredibly easy if you pay attention. I ended ITE 115 with a 99.9% and she doesn't give extra credit. Take her.
This Professor is going to kill my grade! Listen to me! If you truly want an A take someone else this teacher is so RUDE when it comes to grading! You ask for help she not that nice when she is moody! NO! STAY AWAY FROM HER! I wanted an A, I turned in ALL the homework and quiz in time, but SHE IS SO PICKY AND ITS NOT GOOD FOR UR GRADE!
she was very big on due dates and did not except any thing late, but she is a easy A overall the hw was very easy and , she was a easy grader for the projects, also the final was a easy 50/50. i almost never showed up to class and i got a 99% in the class which was my highest grade at NOVA this semester
The best IT professor. Her class environment is so chill and it's an easy A as long as you do your work.
I took Proffesor Millers class for html. You do a lot of hands on work but she makes it really easy to follow. If I could state how good she is as a proffessor in one sentence, itd be She is so good at teaching that even when I wasnt paying attention I still learned 10/10 I highly recommend, shes also very nice and funny
She is an amazing Java professor, she tries to be really precise on her lectures and assigns a fair amount of homework. She is approachable and tries to teach you some good habits to try to prepare you for a 4-year school. I didn't use the textbook once, just paid attention in class and took notes and ended up with an A. Definitely recommend her!
All I can tell you is stay away from her classes. I have never seen suck a picky professor like her in all round. She will literally give you 1 point out of 100 if you missed one part her instructions.
Great teacher. I took an 8 week course, so there was a lot to cover. Judy provides plenty of material to help you really understand the subject and clarity in what she expects you to do. Tests were easy as long as you're completing the work. Only complaint - first few weeks were light hw and the last few had large projects due in less than a week.
I absolutely recommend Prof. Miller. She's laid back and overall a great instructor. She encourages people to ask for help and is very helpful when you ask. There were weekly HW assignments, but I took notes so they were all fairly easy. There were no surprises in the exams, so they were totally passable. I learned a lot thanks to Prof. Miller.
Amazing teacher who actually teaches you something. Take her!
This my first IT classes online and I drop it after three week. It's was the worst experience I had. I never see an IT instructor like that, don't care about his student creativity, doing extra to show his teacher how good he is, very strict about his assignment instructions and all student must follow it regardless of anything.
Don't take her! She is a super tough grader! EXAMS are difficult as well because there is no study guide at all!
I took ITP 100 full 16 week, she doesn't have a set schedule, very spontaneous, which can be good and bad. Gave "quizzes" randomly and only show were graded, but some online quizzes too which she made sure everyone got 100 on them. But the tests are HARD if no study, pass failclass. Didn't read the expensive textbook though shesaidyoucan'tpass w/o
I took ITP 100 with her in this spring semester. And I regret taking her because she wasn't organized throughout the semester. She randomly came to class and made us multiple quizzes in 90 minutes without informing us prior class. Anyways, I really had a worst experience with her.
the worst, if u want a bad GPA and wanna waste ur time take her.
This was my first online IT class and it was pretty straightforward. Professor Miller gives you everything you need to complete the assignments. Sometimes she gives you extra time to finish an assignment. If you do the quizzes then the midterm and the final would be very easy.
If youre in the Cybersecurity program at Nova avoid this professor at ALL cost. Had to drop after the 2nd class. 1. late to the first class 2. Is an IT teacher yet doesnt know how to use Canvas 3. most unorganized teacher ive ever met. 4. Review doesnt provide enough character space to tell you how horrible she is. cant call her a professor.
The course has its flaws and such but I'm not rating the course, I'm rating Professor Miller. She is truly a wonderful teacher. I had zero experience or knowledge in the subject of programming prior to this class. If you're a lazy student who signs up for class and never show up and pass the test with a D, you'll fail. Otherwise you'll be fine
(1/2) Professor Miller is very kind and knowledgeable. She is also easily accessible outside of class. This class is by no means an easy A, but an A is obtainable in her class if you put forth the effort. Exams are bit difficult ngl, but homework is relatively easy and shouldnt take long if you understand the concepts.
Not nearly as bad as others say- but this is by no means an easy class. However, if you put in a moderate amount of effort you should be in a A to B range easily. Just be responsible and it'll fall into place. Only gripe is that occasionally(maybe five times the entire semester) a pop quiz would turn up. That was not too fun.
She really cares about her work, if you care just let her know how much you do. Shell really work with you and is very understanding. One of the best professors Ive ever had
If you want an A, do not take her. She grades you on a few assignments and you will never know your grade until the end of the semester.
Professor Miller is OK. This class was pretty useless as it was just a required college skills class. There was a lot of homework even though this was only a 1 credit class. Midway through the semester, she got covid and we couldn't access any of the homework. When she came back she dumped all the homework on us with a week left. Was very stressful
i took her class fall 2017 but just saw one of her old emails and decided to do one now. she taught a great class and i really enjoyed it. the final was a easy 50 out of 50. im terrible with computer but i enjoyed that class.
She gave us homework due during spring break and does not accept any late assignments. Not a fan of her classes.
Tough class, doesn't take attendance but you'd be foolish to miss class. Gives pop quizzes, albeit not worth many points, but really enforce what she teaches. I can say that of all my classes this semester, hers is the hardest, but I have learned the most. She is kooky and is often jamming out to music before class starts. Like her a lot.
Probably the worst professor Ive had yet. She didnt even know the material herself, asking students to look up answers. Doesnt care what happens, including Cengage or Canvas not working at all, she doesnt give extensions. Started class 10-30 minutes late, & went over class time. Spent most classes (that she didnt cancel) not teaching, just rambling
Con: grade was locked for the semester-- however, at one point she informed me. We did not necessarily focus on a specific language. We used flowgorithm. Pop quizzes ( but they were not worth many points). She's available to meet via zoom outside of class as well.
Professor Miller is okay, but she's a bit confusing and kind of a pushover. The course content was interesting, but it wasn't because of this professor. I felt like I was counting down the days to check off this requirement. She's fine if you're just trying to check off the credit for your degree requirements, but it's not a fun class. Easy A tbh.
The professor is alright and has some knowledge on the subject. Her grading is pretty slow and harsh, and she doesn't seem to provide much help to struggling students. In addition, she just reuses the resources of a past professor for her lessons, which may be a result this being her first time teaching the course.
Don't take her if you want her to mess with your GPA. Her syllabus addresses that "all exams have to average of 60% to pass the class".. (what about the assignments that were graded what do those count for...) She has her "JJM" style of her language which is...She will give you tests/exams without grading the previous exams...(Spring 2022)
she is not the best professor
I found her to be incredibly disorganized as the syllabus and modules + due dates were not displayed Canvas in an orderly fashion. She has strange grading policies and sometimes does not grade work that was turned in. She also does not have a thorough understanding of the subject matter she is teaching.
Material was actually not difficult at all and she spends a lot of time breaking down the concepts. The way she teaches and the material makes this an easy A. She is super super slow at grading. Due dates are not clear and makes it difficult to plan your schedule. "We have a test and it may be next Monday or Wednesday" - 1 week before test
