I dropped this class because it was impossible to ask her questions and get a clear answer. For a required course she makes this a lot harder than it needed to be. She spent a lot of time talking about her spiritual enlightenment. What the hell does that have to do with GOVT?
I very much so disliked the class- she was very difficult to get great notes from, her tests very difficult, her syllabus is very strange, and if there is a date on it when a certain test is going to be, it will be on that date...bad experience....
dont even go there.
She has no understanding for any extenuating circumstances, and has the words NO underlined in her syllabus about fifty times. She talks to the class like they are stupid, and in her god awful orientation had us wave our papers around in the air so we coul
words cant possibly describe the circus of a class i attend... i would rather eat a pound of raw sugar, drink and whole pot of coffee, and do jumping jacks to mix it all around.... that makes more sense than her class.
Please...if you are in this class right now and having trouble....get out. She is the worst. She is not helpful and she makes it hard to ask her questions. She is too self involved and does not care about students. not a nice person
TAKE HER ONLINE ONLY. I took her class online and did just fine.... B's!
Online, I don't think you can go wrong. Took four exams that were WORD FOR WORD the practice exams in the back of the text. Just memorize those answers and you've got it made. One paper required, which I doubt she even looks at. Easy A - IF taken Distance Ed!
Take this professor distance learning!!! She does all of the questions from the back of the book word for word on the test! Her paper instructions are odd until you realize she's laid back and may not even read them- plus internet sources only! Highly recommended! I made 100 on all the tests! not very helpful otherwise but nice.
She tries hard to make her course easy. Multiple choice tests, very lax requirements for the paper. But refusal to acknowledge students' questions makes things difficult. Factual errors on some of her tests. The classes focus on generalities, the tests focus on trivia. Self-studies will do well.
She uses the back of the books study guide for the test. all you have to do is memorize 90 questions and 30 of them are on the test. Her paper requirements are easy too. Look at the back of the book for study guide question and answers. I took her for an online 8 week coarse. too easy.
Took the 8 week course online and did wonderfully. Its an easy course as long as you keep up on the reading. one test every two weeks and a paper between the 3rd and 4th tests. the paper was easy once I got started and the tests are all straight from the book. if you take good notes you've got an A.
Her Non traditional class is a joke, no tests, no homework, no books. If you participate you get an A
I took her for distance learning(us govt) and believe me- if you are doing this class distance learning take her!!!! All the tests are word for word straight out of the text book practice tests; I made 100's on all of them; The paper instructions seem odd and she's not much help until you realize you can turn in ANYTHING as long as it matches her fo
I took her online course. As far as tests and work the class is really simple and easy. She is useless when it comes to answering your questions. She is also not nice at all when she actually does respond to you.
Best kept secret at ACC! I personally had no troubles with responses, and she was very helpful when I did really need her assistance. The test were easy as long as you read the book and practice tests. I am definitely taking her for 2306 next semester!
Good teacher. Takes time to get used to, but after that shes a real blast. Read your chapters and youll be fine. Be interested and youll pass.
I took this course through distance learning and it was my least favorite class that I have ever taken at ACC. I asked her a couple of questions about her syllabus and she was not only rude but not helpful at all. If you want to do well in this class...do all the reading in the book and the practice tests in the back.
hard to follow...taking notes in her class is virtually impossible. you'd think she would be an interesting professor on first meeting, but she is not interested in students or answering questions. pretty useless experience.
This teacher is crazy. She is so rude when it comes to questions. I had to email her 2x just to get a response and it was a week later when she finaly did respond. Do not care if you have problems in your life. If you miss any of her due dates she wants you to drop. What a female dog!
She needs some attention from the oposite sex or maybe the same. Make sure you do all assignments or you should just drop b/c she is going to fail you anyway. I thinks it makes her day when someone miss an assignment. Just like the other person said what a donkey.
I love this professor. You either like her or you don't, but either way you will get a good grade in the class if you attend regularly. This professor really cares about her students.
Incredibly easy tests, but a horrible teacher. Expect to sit through an incomprehensible lecture, but if you just skim the book before the test, you shouldn't make less than a B. Do not expect much help, but an easy A if you can forget everything she teaches you. Odd personality. At times, she breaks her sugary sweet facade and is openly hostile.
Worst class ever. Could care less if you pass. Won't answer your questions. She puts herself up on a VERY high pedestal. She's rude. She should be fired. Instead of encouraging you she makes you feel worthless and stupid. She is the worst teacher I've ever had.
i learned more from outspoken students in this class than from this teacher. it seems like she can barely grasp what she is teaching, and it shows when you ask for any kind of elaboration on the lesson. extremely rude and self interested professor. she will try to make you feel stupid for her own sick pleasure.
Easy-going, very nice, an easy class if you just skim through. (You can just pretend to pay attention-- she likes to call people out, though). She cares about her students, but she tends to be a little air-headed (she has a life too, ya know).
(SPRING 09) "Distance Learning" course grade determined by 4 very easy multiple choice tests of which the answers are rather obvious. Research paper required but w/o negatively impact to grade. Very easy course for students uninterested in pol.sci. or familiar with it and not interested in deeper study. Read syllabus and don't ask dumb questions!
Distance Learning/Fall '09. I took this class for the first half of the semester and had no problems. VERY EASY TESTS! Answers are very obvious. Just read the chapters and do the easy research paper and you will make an A.
One of the best teachers I have ever seen. Be ready to participate without the apprehension because she has a way to make people relax. Its awesome.
Took this class as distance learning. Tests are extremely easy if you read the textbook. I was nervous about this class since I don't really have an interest in government, but I managed to get an A.
Took online. One research paper (not hard) and 4 tests. The tests weren't bad, just read the book. Overall very good for an online TX govt. class, she keeps it uncomplicated. Did not respond to my emails though...
Just take test online. A real joke! She don't do anything and you do very little. They pay this lady for this?
Text was a liberal rag. Tests were poorly written and had the same question twice on a couple of them. Required for the degree program and interesting to a point, but I would recommend getting it from someone else. Took the course online and found her participation to be sorely lacking and my required participation nearly non-existent. Easy A.
Read reviews from other students dating back four years. She is not engaged, requires little of the student and her tests are easy and redundant. Easy A if taken online. I can't believe she gets away with doing such a poor job.
I took the online version of this course. The tests were very easy, if you read the material. One research paper is required, but graded as extra credit. She responded to all my emails and questions, but not much contact is required. Easy A if you do the work.
Online 8 Week. Class is straightforward, read and do test. Multiple choice test were easy if you read material. Essay is easy once you get started. Professor responded to all my emails promptly and respectfully. Easy A.
(8 week online course)Very, very, very easy for an online course. I only read the chapters, but I didn't really STUDY them obsessively, and I made an A. 4 tests; one essay; one discussion board. The essay and discussion board is graded as extra credit though. Her syllabus is straightforward, so I never had any questions. Easy A.
I took this class online. You must read the textbook from cover to cover to pass the tests. Tests are straight forward, nothing tricky. I will say it again READ THE TEXT BOOK and you will get an "A". There is a research paper. Don't expect any responses to emails. She doesn't reply. Follow the syllabus.
She is pretty funny and entertaining. Her lectures will help with certain things, but overall you will not pass the tests unless you read the textbook. However, if you do read the textbook you should pass the test with flying colors. Easy and all multiple choice. Only one paper, and it counts as extra credit.
Great professor. I took the 6 week online Texas Government class and I really enjoyed it. The textbook is well written and easy to read. The test are very easy (if you read the book you will make an A easy). Research paper and blackboard discussion required but extra credit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROF!!!
I also too the online class and must say prof. is absolutely useless. There is no instruction going on at all. She doesn´t even post the grades on blackboard, and no unfortunately she does not reply to emails. That is in fact true. She does absolutely nothing. You basically read the book, then take the exam which are easy... yes. Disappointing!
I took her lecture class and she really does care about her students. It wasn't as easy as I thought. You really need to read the book more than once. A lot of times I read the text early and I forget about when the test comes. Study the terms and take good notes. She very nice. She doesn't use blackboard, so it was a little irritating.
I'm taking the DISTANCE LEARNING GOVT 2305. Just took the first test and got a 66. Everyone said that the questions were straight from the book but only some were; the rest of the questions you needed memorization of terms from what the textbook gives you. NOT the easiest test. Reading the chapters hardly did anything for me.
Dr. Nwachie's Texas State and Local Government class online was pretty straight forward. I took the 8 week course and we had a test every week! Read the chapters, do the review she provides and you should have no problems. I recommend studying all the definitions in the book. Follow her directions because she is very particular!
Great teacher. Read the book and know the key terms, do her required paper and you'll have an easy A. She cares about her students and keeps your attention. even while taking notes, she'll point out importmant facts that will be on the test. Highly recommened.
I had her for a 3 hr lecture, once a week... It was fairly dreadful, even though we would regularly get out early. She would chase tangents about moving to Mexico, or going on trips... It was very hard to stay attentive in class, when all I really needed was: a book, defined key terms, and study of court cases in aforementioned book...
My GOVT class was doing the model UN. Dr. N is a very sweet lady. Older, and not very savvy in the ways of technology, BUT she would do anything to help a student. Not overly clear when asking for help, but isn't a problem because as long as you made the effort you got an A. You aren't going to gain a lot of new info but if you hate Govt, take her.
Gets off topic. The most annoying thing is she will spend 3 days on one paragraph of the chapter, then say we didn't have enough time to cover it all so we are on our own for the test. Her handwriting is hard to read, and if you have big problems with government or want to be a gov major, take a different class.
Does not teach well, she feels the need to pick on certain people, and favor others. Dr. N makes powerpoints filled with words and some pictures, and we're supposed to take notes on them, while she almost always just reads off word for word. She doesn't explain anything well, and when you ask her about it, she just repeats herself.
I have heard many different reports back on her, all bad. I have even heard some of the staff say they hear frequent bad reports on her. If she is hearing about these, she is not doing anything about it, things need to change.
Acted very nice & friendly during lecture but when I went to ask her questions about mistakes she made grading my test she snapped & was extremly rude. I felt extremly uncomfortable in class, didn't learn anything from her lectures instead read the book & memorized terms. I took 5 science classes made all A's made a B in her class. Dont take her.
Very flighty. Lectures are rambling and vague. Focuses on small details for too long and talks to students like they are 5. Supplements lessons with incoherent scribbles on white board. You MUST read the book to pass her class. She is a very nice person, but would probably be better-suited to being a televangelist or kindergarten teacher.
I have read all the comments about her that she's a teacher that won't pass you unless you are smart like Einstein. But I didn't listen or follow what they said about her. She is very helpful (will move heaven for you if you are really willing to learn), she is very attentive to your needs, her exam is not out of the book (as long as your read).
very peculiar personality- stared at students and always told them to "relax" for no reason, very uncomfortable to sit in front row close by the teacher. The tests are based on vocabulary and court cases. The lectures and notes on the whiteboard were very disorganized; it's better to take your own notes. no sample final paper provided for help
By far the worst class I have ever taken. More than half my tx gov class dropped her including myself. Her power points are all pictures & no material, so you read the textbook and still do awful on the tests, she calls people out for no reason, makes everyone feel stupid... Do not take her class under any circumstances! WORST TEACHER EVER. She also has embarrassed me on multiple occasions in front of the whole class for medical reasons... Not cool.
Dr. Nwachie was a very sweet lady and a very easy teacher. Her tests were 50-multiple choice questions. I'm planning on taking her 8-week online TX govt class next semester.
I took her online 8-week course and received an A. I barely studied and managed to make high 90s on all of the tests. She was always willing to answer questions through e-mail or during her office hours. Overall, I enjoyed her class.
She teaches you as if you are children in elementary. This class was very frustrating. However, it is a very easy A.
This class was extremely easy, I was taking 2 6 week government courses and her tests were so easy I just needed to study the chapters highlighted words and thats about it! The bad part about her is she didn't put any grades up! Nothing! She has very little interaction with her students and doesn't update anything. But I recommend it for easy grade
Her 8 week online course is literally designed so you do horribly, way to go Professor
Dr. Nwachie is a wonderful woman, absolutely so nice. Yes, the material you cover in class is super simple. She takes things at a good pace, ensuring that everyone knows what's going on. When you ask her a question she will com right up to you, partially due to her hearing problems, but also because she is a kind hearted woman. I loved her!
She is very passionate about her students. Cares for them, and gave everyone a hug on the last day of class. She teaches like a kindergarten teacher though, often seems to forget we are college students. She will call on you randomly and make everyone stand up for group activities. Not too bad though. Her tests are easy. She's a very sweet lady.
If you are just taking Govn to fulfill core curricula you should definitely take her online. Her test questions are so easy. There are 4 tests, a research paper and 2 discussion boards. I didn't turn in a paper or do the boards and still got an A because of the way her grading point system is set up. I just got enough points on the tests.
She is a lovely woman, very nice. But I just could not pass this class. Failed and had to retake. She has somewhat of an accent. Also goes off on tangents so the lectures were never focused enough. Doesn't guve clear lectures so it's very hard to take notes. You absolutely must have the textbook.
Such an easy online class. Read the book and make flashcards of all the definitions in the chapters and you should Ace the exams. Do the short study guide practice questions from the syllabus, they are all on the test. I did the research paper but it was only worth a few points so its really not even worth the stress unless you need a higher grade.
This instructor is black and white - VERY clear on what she wants. Her syllabus says it all. You will be expected to read and take 4 tests based on the reading. By the time the semester ends you will have read the entire book. Tests are based on the book. There is an essay and two discussion boards. I didn't do them and still got a B.
Easiest class I have ever taken! Just make sure that you study hard and ask many questions! I think that making study cards for the class was a huge help, but that's just me!
Dr. Nwachie loves to make the whole class participate. It can be fun but it really depends on how you prefer to learn. She is really sweet and really cares about her students. Tests are so easy if you actually pay attention. Would take one of her classes again.
I've taken 2 of her test and passed both. First one with a 78 and second with an 86. I didn't even study. EASIEST ONLINE CLASS ever. Just make study cards on the key words. YOU WILL PASS... 2 more test to go, a 7 page essay, and 2 board forums.
I took her for both of my government classes at cypress and I would recommend taking the class with someone else. Her lectures are boring and confusing. She talks to the class as if you were in elementary and calls on you to write stuff on the board and in my opinion doesnt really help you understand the material. She is also very awkward.
Dr. Nwachie was a great person to take an online class with. I took her for the short 5 week summer session and I got a B, almost an A. I could have gotten an A if I put more effort, and even almost getting an A I didn't try that hard. All you have to do is do the questions in the syllabus and read the chapters, and you're good to go.
She was a very poor professor. She rarely responds to emails and when she does, she doesn't answer your questions. Instead she just continually refers students to her syllabus, which as very confusing and unorganized.
Lots of reading, provided study guides that well prepare you for the test. Read, do the study guide, and you'll pass just fine.
Oh, Dr. N! This woman is a doll. She is much older, but don't let her age fool you. She is so positive, and so well versed in government. The class itself is very easy as long as you read the textbook. I would literally read the chapters once, and as long as I attended class regularly (although I missed about 4 due to work), you will make an A.
Took professor Nwachie for online TX Gov. I recommend her. The majority of the grade comes from 4 MC tests over textbook ch.s. I studied the review/summary sections at the end of each ch. (including all vocab) 1-2 nights before and got an EASY B. There's a paper but it isn't worth much so you probably won't have to write it. She's also very nice.
She Claims to have P.S.I and P.K.L.T, says shes "open" in opinion but is actually very closed off, doesn't go over nearly as much content from the book as she should (or is probably required to). If you read the book word for word and memorize it, easy B, but will still need to stay awake in her class to get the rest of those points. notRecomended
Dr Nwachie's class was really easy but so boring that it makes you want to just not show up at all. Her way of teaching is awkward and very scattered. Classes feel like you're back in middle school. Take if you want an easy A and hours of boredom.
You must read the chapters and focus on the "concepts" aka "Key Terms" at the end of each chapter which are probably most of the test. Attendance was only mandatory the first few classes and for the exams, but would be helpful if you want to do well in the class. Optional research paper is recommended for an A.
Dr. N is the sweetest woman I have ever met. You can tell she cares about each student and works to make everyone feel welcome. She does cater to the lowest level of knowledge in the room which made her lectures agonizingly slow. Easiest exams I have ever taken - as long as you paid a bit of attention you'll be fine.
One of the easiest classes I've taken. I did learn a bit about the structure of Texas Government. It was mostly reading assignments with a few tests, and then a short paper or two.
Dr Nwachie is a great professor. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. If you show up to class and take good detailed notes, passing the tests shouldn't be that difficult. She definitely tries get everyone involved in class participation.
She's definitely got a zest for life! Class is structured pretty well, but the lecture is sometimes a bit wonky. She gets the main point across just in an unconventional way. Tests are not very hard as long as you know key terms and have a basic understanding of government. She responded to all of my emails timely. Textbook hardly used.
The class was confusing/unorganised because she never used power points and lectures weren't structured in a organised format, so studying for the tests were harder than they needed to be. She says you need the textbook to pass the class, but I studied only the vocabulary for the tests and passed so it's not mandatory to make a decent grade
The tests are super easy, just pay attention in class and skim through the chapters and you'll make an A. She wastes a lot of time in class and is very slow to communicate and lecture, but the easiness of her tests make up for it. I was able to skip a lot of class after the first two tests and still made high A's on the remaining two tests.
She wastes a lot of time during lectures, only grades by exams and one paper. She does not upload to Blackboard. PLEASE read the textbook to understand the lectures.
This was my favorite class of the semester! She does get side tracked a lot but I really enjoyed her class. She really wants her students to do well. Four tests and an optional research paper at the end of the semester. Study the vocabulary questions and pay attention in class. I am really going to miss this class next semester.
her class is really easy but she doesn't give you any reviews before the test which doesn't help at all. you have to make sure that you read the book to pass her test. she grades just by test and one paper. but her class is so boring, but you can pass it easily.
Class can be irritating, but gives simple thought out notes that cover majority of test material. Notes/powerpoints are NOT posted on Bb, so do show up to class. Asks to read the textbook for more understanding, which helps and would recommend doing just focus on bold terms and you'll be good for the most part. Easy tests, optional research paper.
Class is easy if you skim through the chapters before each test, she provides some test review questions that are also on the test. Also had to do two discussion posts and a paper. Did well on the tests and discussion posts, so I didn't even bother doing the paper and still got an A. Only interacted with her through email, came off as rude.
good professor but she does make you read the whole book !!
She gives a very clear syllabus with key points to study for each section/chapter. If you study these, know all the key terms from the chapters, and do all of the practice questions in the syllabus then you will do great on the exams. I read the entire textbook, with I don't think that it was necessary now that I've completed the course.
Dr. Nwachie is so lovely and really cares about teaching. I wish I would have taken her for both of my government classes. Very straight forward tests and very easy A. Focus on the bold terms in the textbook and you will get an A.
Her test is based on bold terms and definitions the exams are Middle School level difficulty just pay attention to the key concepts she gives in lectures which point what you actually have to read in the textbook. Also, there is a 5-page paper you write but she tells you what exactly she needs on each page don't worry the topic is very simple.
Did not like her what so ever. Lectures straight from the book. Bought the book and didnt need it. She honestly sounds mentally not with it. Wont allow electronics for typing notes in class. Does not give god feed back.
Great professor, although the lectures are kinda boring and somewhat confusing, as long as you read the book the tests are easy. You can skip class and still do just fine. Her grades are based off of 4 50 pt tests and a paper that's worth 10 pts. I personally didn't do the paper and still did just fine.
I wish I could say good things about this professor. She is sweet, however her lectures are close to useless. Half the lecture is spent randomly thanking random students for coming, or telling students to relax. Read the textbook to learn anything.
Personality wise, Dr. Nwachie seems like a nice person, albeit a bit spacey at times. As a professor, however, her lectures are disjointed which makes it hard to pay attention or understand. She would constantly tell us that she "felt a lot of negative energy in the room" and once made us have "nap time". As long as you study, you'll pass .
Attendance is not mandatory, however when I missed class (for personal reasons), I was not able to receive the material I missed, even when asked for. Lectures unnecessarily in depth and dry. Material not accessible online, grades not posted online. I relied solely on my textbook. Definitely not a professor I would take again.
Dr. Nwachie is a great professor. She teaches in a very easy-to-understand manner. She is SUPER POSITIVE. Though attendance isn't mandatory, she doesn't post her slideshow online. Tests consist of slide show contents & text book definitions - that's all. 4 tests. One 5-page research paper. Easy A overall. She WILL NOT ACCEPT bent scantrons tho.
I spent the first 2 of the 4 tests packing my brain with info from the chapters, but soon realized I could read the chapter reviews and do just fine. I ended with an A and just read the reviews the night before/morning of. She hasn't seemed the friendliest from our rare email communications, but that really doesn't matter in an online class.
I think that Dr. Nwachie is a very sweet women, but she does NOT need to be teaching. her lectures are insanely disorganized, she spends half the class repeating how organized they are and going over the "importance" over words like "AND" and "MOST." She talks to students like they are in pre school and her classes are painful to get thru.
If youre looking for a fairly easy course, and you do not have much of an interest in Government take the 8 week DIL course. Its minimum effort, all it consists of is 4 tests a paper and 2 discussion boards. And as long as you know the vocabulary in the chapters youll get a high B or your A. Grading system is easy. Would take again
Caters to the lowest of the lowest intelligence among students which means that she will spend the entire class period going over very little material leaving it up to you to study out of the textbook. Tests are easy so long as you memorize the key terms so just be prepared to do a lot of reading on your own if you want an A.
She is a good person but I don't think that she should be teaching. Her lecture was very disorganized and she is very demanding. Pretty much just read the textbook and study most of the vocabulary and your good for the test.
I took this class online 5 weeks class, is self taught class a lot of reading. professor gives study guides they are short but gives you the basic on what to look for. The book has study guides and that helps more. Test are very fair everything base on the book
I spent maybe 16hrs total (8wk course) and got an A. Tests are closed book, but very easy multiple choice. Understand key terms (textbook), learning check q's (textbook), practice q's (syllabus), and the "study guides" (provided), there is no way you get less than 45 on a test. She is very disorganized, don't email her unless you have to.
we had 4 tests, a research paper, and 2 discussion boards. Tests were online (timed but not recorded); You should read the chapters and take decent notes; simple test. Research paper had easy to follow instructions, do not procrastinate. Discussion board requires you to respond to the topic and not necessary to respond to others. BEST CLASS.
Dr. Nwachie was great! She was very clear in what she expected from your assignments. Fast response to emails. Very sweet! I had some personal issues come up and she was understanding and worked with me. Her study guides are vague so plan to actually read the chapters. There were extra credit perks in discussion boards. Overall, easy A!
Very demanding and will not help you. In order to email her, you have to follow a certain guideline. Will not let you make up, will not let you turn in assignments late, will not accept it if it does not meet her criteria, automatic zero.
Very easy class 3 discussion, research paper, 4 test she is very nice and tries helping her students out as much as possible. If you read and do what's on her syllabus its an easy pass.
There are 4 exams, 3 discussion boards, and a research paper. The 4 exams weigh more then the research paper and discussion boards. Took the 8wk online class and was able to finish in 4 wks while working full time. The only downside was that she does not provide a study guide. But as long as you read the chapters the test are easy.
I really enjoyed her 8 week asynchronous class. The syllabus was very clear on the expectations and I worked at my own pace so I finished the class before the eight weeks were up. Dr. Nwachie is extremely helpful and responds to email very quickly, even on Sundays. I see our government in a new light and will pay more attention to the legislature.
Dr. Nwachie had 4 exams, 3 discussion boards, and 1 research paper. Read and follow the syllabus and attend her meetings to discuss any questions and you will do good. I found her discussion boards and paper very intriguing and gained a lot from each assignment. She had a caring attitude and was very fair with her grading!
The work is NOT difficult, would take again for gpa boost. For tests, study chapter vocab. & end of chapter questions + pay note to cases & laws she points out in class. She is passionate about the subject, obviously religious (played "I Smile" for the class as her "gift to us"), don't tell her personal matters, they may end up as class forum.
Super sweet old lady, I loved her. The lectures aren't super organized, but you don't need to pay attention to succeed. I half-paid attention, read some of the textbook, and averaged 90s on tests. Super easy class, shes funny and talks to herself. A little deaf, but nothing you cant get around. Idk what I learned but it was a super easy class. 9/10
Grade was based on four tests, one paper, and a discussion board. Very sweet lady, but the professor spent almost every class lecturing over topics that may or may not end up on the test. Tests were easy enough, she provided a detailed study guide that gives you most of the answers, use those and you'll be fine.
This class is atrocious. It is not made clear that tests must be taken in class, even though they are posted 36 hours ahead of time. If you can avoid taking this class, do it. I will be dropping it and looking for a new professor next semester. Her method of teaching is ineffective and slow as well. Very little is coherent or cohesive.
She's honestly not that bad in my opinion. I was nervous to take her class as well because of the reviews, but it really wasn't bad. I just read the book and did things on time, and I got an A. It's not difficult.
This class is self-taught using the textbook, but the professor is a sweetheart and she wants you to understand the grading criteria and succeed. Every week there are 3-5 textbook chapters to read and a reasonable MC exam. AVOID IF YOU DONT LIKE READING. She also holds weekly virtual meetings to explain assignments, go! She's a cutie, be nice.
Course based entirely on reading the textbook, and required roughly 120 - 150 pages a week. Made it clear that no late work would be allowed, and will give a 0 if paper is submitted wrong, even if it's just a different file type. Unreasonable demands and rigid structure.
Straightforward class, professor is humorous and has a habit of talking to herself. She's a bit hard of hearing, but it's manageable. She's incredibly kind, teaching at an elementary level, making it easy to grasp but notably slow-paced. Passing the class is a breeze, though learning lots of new material might not be part of the experience lol.
The professor was very disorganized and she was very very strict on deadlines, no matter if you were in the hospital or something of the sort. She is a kind lady and is very funny and heartwarming. I would not reccommend this professor if you suffer from ADHD whether you have accomidations or not.
Rants about herself and loses her train of thought often and will proudly claim her classes "are well organized, efficient, and relevant" multiple times a week. Then skips most slides during our class and rarely covers everything we need to know. Don't take this professor. If this is your only option do a different class u need and wait next sem.
Do not take this professor. The syllabus is incoherent and the online class is a mess. Generally not a hard class though. There is a required textbook that I didn't even buy or read a single chapter out of and I still got As on all the tests. My withdrawal is due to her insanely unreasonable grading criteria for papers.
Professor Nwachie seemed to care about her students but also values formatting over actual teaching. I meticulously went through ressearch paper guidelines and got a zero because it didnt follow formatting and received no feedback when I asked about it. Eventually she gave me the participation credit, but it seems learning wasnt the objective
I liked taking this class and have learned a lot! The tests are mostly common knowledge. The syllabus is more detailed than any other I've read but every prof is different. Make sure to read syllabus multiple times. This is not a difficult class if you take notes over the topics & definitions she tells you to go over!!! I would recommend this prof!
8-week online course. 4 Tests, 4 discussion posts, and 4000-word paper. Her study guide did not cover all of the material and her PowerPoint "study guides" were useless. Most of the grade came from the tests, and the discussion posts were worth between 1-4 points and the paper was only worth 7 points total. No extra credit.
teacher gave me a failing grade because she misinterprets basic grammar and punctuation in discussion posts. Didn't respond to emails to fix said grade and constantly misspells as if she wasn't docking points off for the same thing. Wouldn't recommend taking any class with this person, save your money, go with a better history professor if you can.
The information on her syllabus is all over the place and does not help at all. When you ask her for help, she won't help you. Tells you to look at the syllabus which is no help whatsoever. Sends weird reply emails. Does not ask what issue you have. She is a late grader. I'd prefer you to find another professor, she is not worth it.
Prepare to read copious of text book content plus extra research tht is expected. This class was an "easy A" as in I didn't gain much, just checked off a requirement for me. I did not like the unrealistic and unclear grading expectations, especially the research paper that I purposely skipped and managed to still pass with an A. Not a breezy course.
I don't know where to begin. Just a complete disaster to say the least. Obviously just getting a pay check.
Do not take this class. Has very strict grading criteria. If you don't meet it you will receive an automatic zero. Syllabus is hard to follow and read as it is all over the place. Class lectures typically don't follow what is on the next test, as well as the study guides don't cover it either. Very unorganized and not an easy class to keep up with.
She was a very nice lady, but unfortunately, this did not outweigh how poor a professor she was She's very bad about rambling on about pointless things and wasting class time None of what is taught in class helped on any of the tests. The only way to pass the tests is to teach yourself through the textbook Overall the course was very disorganized
Judy Nwachie is a very nice lady and proffessor. The criteria for the course is very clear by reading the rubric and you can easily pass this class without the textbook by simply utilizing the practice problems in the rubric. The paper towards the end of the semester has very specific guidlines, but by simply following them you will get a an A.
The class has a lot of reading, but test questions are mostly common knowledge. Syllabus is detailed but unclear. Unstuck study was super helpful for test prep. Not a breeze, but doable if you stay on top of it.
1. No questions in class 2. No turning in early/one second late 3. Pointless rambling 4. Textbook is your teacher 5. Teachers like her is what google is for, read the textbook and you're find. Her lectures are 65% trash, 20% review, and 15% learnable information 6. She uses PowerPoint for her lecture, but rambles so much she rarely gets through it
Dr. N is nice and caring However her lectures are not very useful. She rambles and does not effectively explain concepts, you can learn better by studying the course online. It's an easy class and she has a good attitude, but her teaching is poor and I would not take her if it was a more difficult class.
She is one of the worst professors I have had the displeasure of having. Sure she's a nice lady, but her teaching is non-existent. She can barely respond to an email, will tell you to look at her over 30 page, unreadable syllabus for any question you may have, and due-dates are virtually invisible. Avoid taking her class, you will be miserable.
Dr. Nwachie is a professor that cares and wants students to succeed. Extra credit assignments available and helpful study guides in the syllabus for each test. Be sure to attend lectures and take notes, read over text books and it will be a breeze. Test questions are multiple choice and topics she emphasizes during lecture will be on the test.
Do not take. She gives out 0's like they are candy. If you mess up a title on a paper, you automatically receive a 0, it does not matter how well written it was. She will not provide you clear feedback on what you missed and will just say that you needed to read the syllabus. She does way too much for a 6 week course at a community college.
Professor doesn't really teach and explain the concepts, so you will have to read all the material on your own. Her lectures were not helpful at all. The tests are pretty easy, most just terms and definitions. She is not so good with using technology.
DO NOT TAKE. SHOULD BE FIRED.
