She is big on clicker points, she always wants people to come to her office hours, she lectures usually till the exact time to go,and the tests basically determines your grade, but she does have a scale where your grade is boosted 1 letter grade. She has homework on saplings, which you have to buy, (cost $30 for 1 semester). no need for textbook.

Great professor. Lectures are helpful and necessary especially for clicker points (10% of grade), but study efforts outside of class are necessary as well to do well on the exams which total up to 70% of your grade. Pretty sure half the class failed/dropped but not the professors fault, its just laziness on student's part.

The way her class was set up was not the best. I had her M/W. Monday we would go over basic content/notes and Weds. would do peer leading worksheets with groups that she assigns at the beginning of the semester. I would prefer Weds. to be for her explaining practice problems instead of doing it ourself. The average grade on exams is a D at best.

I am neither here nor there. She is very test heavy so if you are not a great test taker, be prepared to study hard and ask a lot of questions. She does iclicker so attendance is mandatory. She likes to call on random people. She is respectable and teaches content well.

I would recommend dr. Ratliff 100%, she is very nice, enthusiastic, and passionate about chemistry. She tries to clear any doubts during class, provided tons of practices and resources to study, and she is very accessible through email or during her office hours. She answers questions very well.

She was a great professor. The lectures are boring but they are important. The way she sometimes explains things is sometime complicated so I would watch videos. Its test heavy so definitely study, I would study like a week in advance for the test. Test 2 and 3 are math heavy.

I came into General Chemistry 1 with very little background knowledge, so I was petrified coming into this class, but Dr. Ratliff was so kind and comforting. She does an amazing job at communicating exactly what was expected of us throughout the semester and provided us with plenty resources to succeed. She's very passionate about the material!

She's a great teacher, some material is hard but her slide shows are easy to follow outside of class. She does use iclicker but doesn't require a million points so once you get yours for the grading period you don't need to go anymore, but its better you do because she makes things easy to understand.

Take her class! Dr. Ratliff was the professor I needed to spark my love for chemistry again. She understands that not every student learns in the same way, and her way of teaching accommodates different learning styles. Her class is hard, but she makes her lectures engaging, has a great sense of humor, and is very helpful during her office hours.

It doesn't really matter who you get for this class because all of the chem teachers grade the same and have the exams, but having Ratliff helped by being accessible out of class. I have to say her lectures aren't too helpful and I had to study most of the course by myself. She is really sweet though and very motivating

The material is not the easiest, so you can't expect a good grade without effort put in. I enjoyed her powerpoint notes and reviews that she showed, and she's a great lecturer. Some people think she goes too quick, but everything is on canvas afterwards. There's homework every week but she's very easy to talk to through email/office hours.

She was a good professor. Had crazy long office hours and always answered emails quickly. She would always end class 10 mins early so you could ask questions or just leave to your next class. There was not attendance exactly but clicker questions you can honestly do at home.

She was pretty good. She mostly read off the slides and did practice problems but I found those to be pretty helpful. The tests do make up a good portion of the grade but the class isn't bad at all.

Professor Ratliff was awesome and really cares about her students. She has engaging lectures and they are not required to attend once you have your required clicker points needed between each test. I recommend her and she also has great lecture slides! Not too much homework given - only weekly a few problems

You really had to be in class for iclicker and it was very slide heavy. she always published both blank and complete versions of her lecture notes which was super helpful and it was so easy to exceed the caps she has on each section of the grade. She was also super helpful and understanding during office hours.

I absolutely love Mrs. Ratliff. I am blessed ot have her for chemistry 2. She prepares you very well for the tests. Attendance is mandatory due to iClicker points. She gives extra credit, and she uses a point system instead of percentages. Her lectures aren't boring, and I easily focus. She goes through content fast so review after each lecture.

iclicker points are capped so you don't need all of them and can answer from anywhere. lectures focus more on definitions than practice problems. exams are in person, hard but heavily curved. weekly homework isn't on honorlock. peer leading is easy with three allowed absences. overall grade doesn't show on canvas until the end.

TAKE HERRR! Her content/practices are exactly what's on the test, just focus and actually study well and do the practices. She's so funny, she be growling in class at times but alas, an amazing professor. Iclicker is capped, so I did skip classes but I also had a good foundation in chem (AP). HWs are easy, and so was the final exam
