took eng 1301 on line. Very helpful. Very nice teacher and gets your papers back quickly. If you have any questions, she's very approachable. I liked her a lot.
Dr. Sanders is awesome. One of the best English teachers out there. She is straigt forward about what she wants and will help you when you don't understand.

I have taken three distance learning classes with Ms.Sanders and she is great. Very helpful with everything.
very to the point and gets tired of the same thing asked over and over, has great office hours and always returned cals, she was at the top of my list to take next class , she was nice to the two who acted like they needed extra help or in my view a mother holding there hand, i would say if your adult and hear this is the one for you , if yo
Dr. Sanders is a wonderful English professor. She will recognize it if you are working to your full potential. She always returns calls timely and will always make time for your concerns. I will be taking her in another DL class spring 08. Definitely reommmend!
Professor Sanders was very helpful. She always returned my e-mails right away and read my papers as soon as she got them. She is very specific about what she wants in the papers and as long as you can go by what she has in the syllabus then your papers should always be accepted. I never had one paper kicked back as opposed to my COMP 1 class.
great prof. good for people who are self motivated. was always willing to help and read over things before accepting the papers. recommend.
I took the DL version of her class and my only real complaint is the she accepts papers via fax, mail, or the drop box at her office only (you cannot email or submit papers via Blackboard). You can revise papers as often as necessary until she accepts them.
Grades papers hard and doesnt return them to you. On your quizzes, if your train of thought isnt exactly like hers then you stand no chance. DONT TAKE
Professor Sanders is VERY STRICT and always keeps to the syllabus. You'll make good grades if you work for them. She has no mercy on the due dates.
A great instructor. You have to work hard, and proofread your essays...but if you give your all, Dr. Sanders is fair. I got an A, and I earned it, with 8-12pg essays. It was an online class, so discipline is MANDATORY. Slackers need not apply. Dr. Sanders rules.
She grades fairly, but I took her class because I wanted a no-contact online course. Instead, you have to fax everything (no email), she won't use Blackboard, and you have to handwrite the drama quiz AND count the words yourself. Dr S doesn't get that online means COMPUTER. Not what I wanted, and I'll never use this info again.
This professor is very strict on deadline days. If you go past the due date she takes off 3 points for everyday. She does not use blackboard and you have to fax all papers or mail them. I took this class distant learning and she made it very hard when she does not give feed back on any papers.
I took Dr. Sander's DL class in summer 09 and it was a bit challenging, but that's only because the summer sem is shorter. Other then that Dr. Sanders is a great teacher and she is very fast to respond to emails when you have questions. Her instructions and exceptions are clear. I am taking her again in the fall.
I took the pcm class and had to write four papers. They were all on short stories, poems, plays, and a novel respectfully. As long as you follow her guidelines and answer the questions she gives you, you'll do alright. I hardly spent any time on this class and got an A. Didn't even read the plays, just went on youtube and watched them.
Took the DL summer class. Do not get behind or you'll never catch up. Six papers plus test earns a C. An additional two papers earn a B and A respectfully. All papers must be accepted before moving to the next paper. Responds quickly to emails. If you want high amount of feedback take the lecture class, in DL she does not return papers. Nice lady
Big stickler for deadlines. But being the department chair demands a lot of her time. If you show up, and do the work she can be very helpful. Once you figure out the formula wording she wants it gets easier. I took her for 1301 and her Online Summer Lit. made an B and an A. She likes it if you come to her office with questions and discussion.
Took her DL lit class. There are 3 papers, each must be at least 2,500 words. There is also a Drama quiz that you have to read 3 plays for. The last paper requires you to read a novel. It is a lot of work, but if you follow the guidelines and turn things in on time, it is not too bad. Also, she doesn't use BB or email. you have to MAIL in papers.
Can be hard, but this is college. She is very fair and will help you as much as she can and replys to emails very fast. Would certainly take her again.
Dr. Sanders is the way to go for all 3 required ENGL courses. Her guidelines are concise and to-the-point with no "busy-work." She's easy to contact, but class time is usually enough. This is like a DIL course with better guidelines: self-paced, once/wk mtgs and all assignments in syllabus. Meet deadlines, and you'll have an A.
Highly recommend! I've taken 2 of her courses; they weren't easy, but she makes it simple to succeed. She understands challenges of DL and 1/wk courses, is supportive and accessible, promptly responds to email. Expectations are clearly communicated in syllabus. Lectures are concise, fast-paced and engaging. Take notes, leave class with your outline
I took 2 DIL classes with Dr. Sanders and loved her teaching style. She is fair and kind, but expects a lot from you, so don't think you can get by without doing the work. Wish I could have taken her for ENGL 2332.
Dr. Sanders is THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! She actually takes the time and interest in each student to help you succeed. If you stay on schedule, you will make an A. She is light-hearted, funny and takes the time to write on the blackboard and provide you with example papers of what you should expect to write. MY FAVORITE in OVER 40 YRS. RECOMMEND!!!!
Nice lady, was very helpful with assignments, always got back to me in a timely manner abt my corrections(if any). I made a C but I also slacked off alot. Time is your greatest enemy!! Read you stuff, turn in papers on time and I swear you will do just fine. :) slap your self if you dont take her :/
Dr. Sanders was great. She responded quickly to each of my emails. English is not my strenght and I got a B! If you have a question, just email her! She will steer you in the right direction. Communication is key and pay attention at the mandatory orientation. (on-line Intro to Literature)
She was great! I took her self-paced and made an A. One of the more challenging things about her class is the time crunch. You will not succeed in her class if you procrastinate. However, she is very clear, straight-forward and responds quickly to emails which is incredibly helpful! I most definitely enjoyed her class.
Second semester with her and I have made an A both times. I have taken her class lecture and distance learning. She will give you the tools TO SUCCEED! Stay on track, ask questions, and she will lead you to your A. During her lectures she will offer you handouts & explanations of exactly what is expected. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS1 PROFESSOR THE BEST
Do not take this course online. This is not an "online" class. You have to fax, mail, or hand in person, the essays you write. You are not allowed to email her essays, like normal online classes allow you to. She is a hard teacher, so if you are looking for a challenge, take her regular classes. As an online teacher, I don't give her high credits.
Calling this an Online course is a joke. I am a DIL veteran and this teacher goes out of her way to make things as inconvenient as possible. You have to go to her offices downtown to get a syllabus, and turn things in by fax or mail. Does not provide feedback via email or returning papers only by phone. If you have time for that then take her class
DL course. 6 papers analyzing short stories. Paper's get progressively longer as new element is added each time. After 6 papers take the "C" test which is reading a short story/writing paper. Opportunity to write a "B" and longer "A" paper to get the grade you want. Prof. helpful. Does not use BB Grades are "accept" or "unacceptable" on all papers
Took the Print Based Hybrid course. Dr.Sanders was very clear on expectations for all assignments. I received an A on all papers. If you are good at writing essays and analyzing novels, stories, and poems, this is an easy A. She was always available for questions and feedback. Would recommend to anyone
Don't take the print based version! You have to write a paper every week (summer) and she is very particular in what she wants! As soon as you take the C test and its been approved, you need to turn in your B paper (if you want a B)... but she never listed a due date ANYWHERE and I missed it.
I have taken two courses from Dr. Sanders and made an A in each class. She teaches you how to analyze literature and write. She is very fast to respond to questions and her instruction is always helpful. She wants you to succeed but you have to do the work. She is very fair. I am a better writer because of Dr. Sanders.
Ms. Sanders was an amazing professor. I really enjoyed her class. She gives you a story, poem and novel to analyze as well as a quiz which is the only thing to be taken at the testing center. She is willing to help you throughout the course and responds to emails quickly. Pretty easy subject as long as you put some effort. Everyone should take her!
Took the online class. There are only four assignments, which is great for some people and others not so much. She doesn't use blackboard, so unless you call or email her she is pretty hands off, but COMPLETELY willing to help. Her standards are clear and concise. She tells you EXACTLY what to do to get a good grade. Must mail or fax papers.
Dr. Sanders is an excellent instructor. I took the distance learning course during the summer. There were 4 assignments. Her instructions/expectations were clear and due dates were provided in the syllabus. She answered all my emails and was very helpful. I have a better appreciation for literature now thanks to this class.
She is a fantastic professor. If you happen to take Eng comp 2, follow up with her Intro to Lit class. There is a lot of useful material you get in Comp 2 that follows through to her Lit class. She does not use blackboard so you will contact her by phone or e-mail. She grades fairly and as long as you try and ask for help, she will give it.
Her "online" class is fine if you're a strong writer, but if you're going to need even a little guidance, I would go with someone else. She doesn't use blackboard or teach at all unless you email her with specific questions. So you just read the book and follow the syllabus on your own, basically. Cool in a way, but not a lot for your money.
Dr. Sanders is a great professor. She makes herself readily available to her students at all times. She is willing to go the extra mile for her students if they ask for help and are serious.
Dr. Sanders is a great professor. She is always available and quick to respond when students have questions. She also really cares about her students' success. Plus, her class is only once a week, which is always nice. She is probably the best professor I have had at ACC. I will be taking English 1302 with her next semester.
Dr. Sanders does not use blackboard which I found hard initially. However anytime you email her about any question, she will get back to you as soon as possible with the solution. This was an online course and my advice is put in a little effort and you will make an A. I had her for ENGL-1302 and made an A as well so I'll recomend her.
I've taken Dr. Sanders for two semesters, one in class & one online & I would recommend her to anyone. She is clear about what needs to happen in order to make a good grade & as long as you turn in your assignments on time you'll do fine. She will respond quickly with a detailed email but I agree with others, that is the best way to contact her.
Unless you are a very strong writer- I would not recommend the online class. The syllabus says there are only 4 papers total but that is a misleading statement. Paper 1 consists of 4 papers for the "Paper 1" assignment. Don't be fooled. You write a total of 10 papers and have to have 2 books for this class. Teacher is prompt to answering emails.
Dr. Sanders is amazing. Her online class is very straightforward and doesn't require a lot of work. Although, you must be a strong writer to be successful. She will make you rewrite essays until they're perfect. I took her class for both 1301 and 1302 and I was very pleased.
This Prof is very organized, and accessible to her students. However, you better be an extremely strong writer to get through this class. I am a strong writer, but she nit picked so much I have never received such low grades on my essays from an english prof before. Know your ins and outs of poetry etc, or you'll be disappointed in your grades.
Ive had Dr. Sanders for the past 3 semesters and love her. She is clear with directions, willing to help, and quick to respond to emails. I thoroughly enjoyed having her as a professor and recommend her. I learned many useful writing skills from her. If you, pay attn.,do the work, and turn it in on time, you will do well.
I took Sanders' self-paced English comp I class. She is very clear about due dates, expectations for each paper, and is extremely helpful if you have questions about anything. She is very responsive via email; normally received answers within the day and sometimes minutes after emailing. Do the work well, get an A
Dr. Judy Sanders was very specific with what she wanted to see in my papers. After the first paper I was unavailable to come to her office or call during her hours, so she emailed me with feedback to apply to my next paper. Turning in papers was also an easy process. Response time to emails was excellent, I would take one of her classes again.
Professor Sanders is very specific in what she wants in her papers, but it is easy to keep in contact with her for any questions you have. Found myself rarely using the required textbooks because the topics were pretty much self explanatory. Overall, pretty good professor!
She is quick to reply to emails and grading. I was able to average two papers a week and they were both gradedaccepted in the same week. So if you are like me and like to grind through the work as fast as possible, this teacher will not slow you down. She wont take the papers until they are free of errors. She will tell you what corrections tomake
Prof Sanders online class was awesome! She replies to emails very promptly! Her assignments are concise and to the point. She gives more than enough time to complete her essays.
I took the online print base class. There are three major writing assignments and one test at the testing center. It is not an easy course, but you can make a good grade if you follow the instructions and do your papers. Teacher provides good explanations of expectations, is quick to respond, and is accessible.
This is distance learning class consisting of writing papers. It is time consuming and requires proper time management. Professor is there for you though, she answers emails promptly and gives very specific helpful feedback. Paper is ether accepted, requires revision, or has to be rewritten. Professor tells you exactly what is wrong and is helpful.
I took Dr. Sander's online English 1301 class. It is a little scary to take this class during a summer semester when you are coming back to school after almost 20 years! She was very helpful and answered my questions in a timely fashion. Because of her i did make an A in the class. The online course set my path for a successful future in school!!!
I took online class for Eng comp II with Dr. Sanders. She is prompt to respond my e-mail, always helped me when necessary. Revision means one step close to acceptance for the paper. I liked her giving specific information on what she really wants on the paper. I would take her class again if I need to.
I took her online class in the summer - Comp 2. Super quick to respond to emails. She's very helpful when you need clarification on your assignments. The class was very clear-cut. 6 papers- each a little more in depth. A test paper and two final papers (pass or fail) which determine whether you get an A or a B. Really great class.
Dr. Sanders is amazing English teacher. I took Comp 1, comp 2 and literature with her! very fast to give feed back and always there to help when needed! As long as you follow directions to the t and turn in your work on time you'll do great! Best ACC professor I've taken yet! The essays are in depth but doable!
She made it clear how many papers there would be, but once it came time to turn them in, she would tell me that it did not meet requirements or not in the correct format, but the "requirements" were not in the assignment details & the "format" was listed as OPTIONAL on the instructions. Caused confusion and extra work that was unnecessary.
Dr. Sanders is an awesome instructor! her expectations a clear and she will let you know exactly what you need to correct on your papers. I've taken all my Englishes with her Lit on line, and although they are only 4 papers and one more in depth than the last, getting an A is definitely a possibility, just follow directions, and have them on time
This is an essay course. To get an A, there are 9 essays to complete. You can't skip papers: each paper must be accepted before the next one can be turned in. Most are short (500-700 wds) & Prof. Sanders gives timely/helpful feedback. I took a 16wk course that met once a week, it was quick & its easy to get behind. Write your essays and youll pass
I've now had 2 great semesters with Dr. Sanders, easily the most efficient and helpful prof. She's very consistent and gives timely feedback. I like Dr. Sanders because her assignments are straightforward and actually enjoyable when you read the stories. Devote a few hours to a well-thought out essay and this class will be easy
She is the head of the English Department and is extremely specific about the criteria she is looking for. It is not necessarily going to reflect the same criteria of other teachers or tutors. At first it was a bit demoralizing trying to figure out what she was looking for. But after a while I started to understand her style. No easy A.
She gives a very good explanation on how to write the papers. She gives good feedback for revisions and her due dates are very reasonable. Her grading is very straight forward and it is easy to get an A if you meet the dead lines.
She gives a good explanation on how to write the papers. You read a short story and analyse it. After she explains the concept she is willing to answer questions in class or by email. She is an easy grader and her due dates are very reasonable. It is an easy A if you meet the dead line and the criteria for the paper.
This professor is super responsive to emails, gives good feedback for your papers, and allows correction if you made a mistake. I will be taking her again for any English classes I may need in the future!
Dr. Judy Sanders is an amazing professor. Her class is challenging, but rewarding. The stories you have to read are also good. Loved the class.
Dr. Sanders is an amazing professor. She gives great feedback which really improves students writing. It is very easy to make an A if you meet her deadlines. She is very responsive to emails which is great! Overall she is very easy going and understand students! I definitely recommend her class!
For this class students have to read a short story and analysis it. It might be a little more work than Comp 1 but if you meet the deadlines and the paper criteria you would get an A. She is very clear with her assignments and very responsive with her emails! I would definitely take any English class with her again if i have to!
This was my first time to take an online class. Dr. Sanders' assignment instructions were very specific so I always knew what was expected of me. On one paper, I got off track because I didn't fully understand the assignment. She gave me excellent suggestions and guidelines so I could write the paper correctly. She made me a better writer!
3 papers but very in depth and detailed. If you put effort into your work you will get an A.
Professor Sanders' is a fair professor. She responds to emails quickly and gives good feedback on writing. The class will provide a clear understanding of essay writing.
This is the third class I have taken with Prof. Sanders. The expectations are cleared defined, feedback is given, questions quickly answered. An overall good experience and I very much enjoyed all the classes
She is very consistent and concise I work full-time and I was able to take her class during my lunch and then return to work. It was only one day a week which loved it. She was quick to responded to my emails about any questions I had regarding my papers.
I took professor Sanders class this fall. It was a great class. I worked full time and drove half an hour a day just to make sure I turned my papers on time. I enjoyed that her class is pretty straight forward: turn your papers in on time, get the revisions and do them. Get help in the learning lab if you're bad at writing.
You will have to earn the grade for this professor, but that being said, it is not hard. If you do the work, you almost have to get an A as she grades by either accepting or denying a paper. So get all your papers accepted and you've got an A.
She either accepts or denies the paper, so as long as you are not lazy you will get an A.
Horrible professor. Her grading system literally sets you up to fail. She doesn't care about her students and she's horribly rude. Would never take a class from her again.
I took Dr Sanders' distance learning English 1 course, and it was okay. The papers are all pretty much pass/fail (with revision opportunities if you don't get it right the first time). She doesn't give incredibly detailed answers to questions. I'd say take her course if you just want the credits, but don't expect a huge amount of engagement.
Amazing teacher! Sweetest person. Dr. Sanders cares about her students. She taught me how to be a much better writer. She answers emails promptly and gives lots of guidance. Her syllabus is comprehensive. She allows a revision on each paper. I learn best when I can correct the mistakes. Take this teacher because she wants her students to succeed!
Take this teacher! Dr. Sanders is amazing. She wants her students to be successful. She is so sweet and caring, and will make you a better reader and writer. This is the second class I have taken with her, and I wish I could take more, but I've taken all she teaches. If you want an A she will work with you so you can earn an A!
Dr. Judy by far is the best professor ever!
Do not take her online class. I've taken it with two other classes and the hardest think i've ever done. 2/3 essays, we have to pick out four stories/poems and write about them. Each paragraph is 100 or 150 words. I was really exited for this online class, but this is such a disappointment. Now I hate online classes because of her.
Judy Sanders is a great teacher. She grades fairly and gives great feedback. She is always accessible through email at anytime of day, because she has her phone to be able to keep contact with her students (through email). I had a time where I was nervous and confused about an assignment and she called me right away to clear up my confusion. A+++++
If you are a conscientious student this class will be a breeze. Pretty much weekly essays, but most of them are short and easy. All you have to do is keep on schedule and get your essays accepted. It really doesn't even matter if you show up to class. Sanders is not the friendliest, but she tells you exactly what you need to do to get an A.
Professor Sanders give you 3 papers, which are kind of lengthy(2,500 words), and 1 quiz. The quiz is over 3 different plays that you have to read. I didnt do too well on it, but i only read one of the plays and looked up the other two. Dont be afraid of this class, and dont be afraid to start the papers early; you wont regret it
There are 3 papers due (minimum 2500 words), and 1 testing center essay. The class does require a fair amount of reading and writing, but only during certain times. Otherwise, there's no other exams. Easy A in my opinion. My only complaint is that she requires papers either be mailed, or dropped in her mailbox.
Professor Sanders was very fair and gave great feedback. As a first time college student, it took a while too fully understand what she was looking for in our writing assignments. Every opportunity was given to allow students to make an A in the class if you just put in the work.
I took this class online. I submitted 6 papers, one written exam and 2 final exams. Her syllabus was clear on what was expected. Her grading was quick so your able to move on to next essay. She gives you examples of the essays or citations she is requesting. Just dont procrastinate! I would definitely take another one of her classes!
I took ENGL-1302 online in the summer and absolutely loved it! There were a lot of papers but each of them were very easy to do. The first essay for example is a paragraph long and the second is two paragraphs long and so on. She gives feed back in a very timely manner. Professor Sanders really helped me improve my writing skills. Take her!
ENGL-2342 was an online course for me and it was super easy! She tells you exactly what she expects and what each paper should consist of. Only 3 papers and one quiz in the testing center over stories. She gives you plenty of time to complete each eassay. I highly recommend professor Sanders she's the best!
She is so awesome and helpful, I loved her class it was simple.
This class was pretty simple. There is three papers and one test. Dr. Sanders outlines exactly how each paper should be written and gives examples. She took the stress out of writing essays. Would have her as a teacher again.
I took professor Sanders online for ENGL-1301. I absolutely love her class and she gave great feedback on the essays. Defiantly would recommend her and will take her again for ENGL-1302.
She has been the best and mos understanding professor I have every had! Love her
Judy Sanders was an amazing teacher in my opinion. Others in the class might disagree, but it seemed like those were the same students who put in zero effort. Judy can tell when you're putting in your time and effort, and she will grade based on that. Basically if you want a good grade, just try your hardest. She is very helpful too!
professor sanders class might be a little difficult if you don't care about writing, but if you take the time to write your papers and read the instructions clearly then you should have no issues with her class
If you are an adult that takes responsibility for your coursework and are good at working independently, then this is the course for you. The assignment objectives are simple and clearly stated. You are given plenty of time to complete the work and the grading is fair. I would recommend this class. I dislike lit courses but I liked this course.
This is a good class, plenty of time to do your work and you receive feedback almost immediately.
I took this online class and thoroughly enjoyed it. Three essay papers and one quiz at the testing center. She outlines very clearly what she expects on each paper and gives you the necessary resources to write well thought out answers. If you enjoy reading, this is the class for you. I recommend The Awakening as the novel choice. So good!
Professor Sanders organized this class very well. You knew exactly what was expected every week. There is a guide and if you follow that then you will get an A
Do not take online. I've heard her classes are great from people on campus, but the online course doesn't reflect this. The syllabus is short and vague, there are no example papers or additional aids, and paper turn in's are by hand, fax, or mail. 900 word hand written (with pencil) essay took nearly 3 hours in a testing center. Nothing was taught
Dr. Sanders is a kind woman, but she has a low tolerance for stupidity. If you listen to her instructions and stay on top of assignments you will get an A, but it is easy to fall behind quickly with the mechanics of her class. I took 1301 and 1302 with her. 1301 was a little rocky because I didn't fully grasp her expectations. 1302 was a breeze.
Dr. Judy Sanders is always right on top of every email Ive sent her! She gives great feedback and was always available and easy to reach. My papers would get graded within ten minutes of sending them in! She had a booklet that was handed out at the beginning of class that explained everything down to a T, with clear due dates, and what to do.
Hard deadlines but you are given the necessary amount of time to complete each paper. Every paper has clear instructions, everything you need to know is on the syllabus. Professor Sanders is always available during office hours and one of the most helpful professors I've had. If you're willing to work for an A, she is willing to help you get there.
Dr. Sander's provides extremely clear expectations for how to get an A in the class and provides ample opportunity to succeed. She gives clear, timely feedback (sometimes she emails back within minutes). If you can follow directions and can handle constructive feedback you shouldn't have any problems getting an A. Time-management is important.
If you are looking for a professor who will hand-hold, she is not it. But if you want a professor who is responsive, helps when you ask for it, and is fair, then Dr. Sanders is definitely the one for you. I will be taking Comp 2 from her for sure.
Dr. Judy Sanders is easily one of the best professor at ACC. She is extremely helpful and you can tell that she really wants you to succeed. Because it is an English class, there is a good amount of writing, but it never seems overwhelming as Dr. Sanders guides you carefully through each step. All you have to do to get an A is follow the syllabus.
I took her online class Intro to Lit 2342 summer session. A couple essays and a writing test, the reading helps you! . She doesn't use Blackboard. I called and emailed a lot to ask questions about papers. She was very helpful in regards to questions and replied quickly EVEN On WEEKNDS! First online class for me. Highly Recommend
Professor Sanders seemed to be a good professor at first, but that changed right after out first paper. First of all, her syllabus is vary vague. Second, she must have the central idea the way that she sees is (Central Idea is an interpretation). She will send back your papers and make you rewrite and revise without thinking about it.
Before I started the course, I had heard Dr. Sanders would be an amazing professor. This turned out to be very incorrect. Her syllabus is out dated and incorrect. Her grading style is inconsistent. If you do not have the central idea or if one little thing is not in her wording, you must rewrite. I will not take her course again.
I heard she was a great teacher and loved teaching, however i have found the complete opposite. She is extremely vague when she requires you to re-write and is not very helpful whatsoever. She wants papers written her way, which gives the writers no opportunity to be creative and test the limits of each writing style. Would not recommend her.
There is something amiss with Professor Sanders. The syllabus does not reflect her expectations. Instructions only come after assignments have been submitted for grading. Her responses are impossible to decipher. She's an old-school "gotcha" teacher. She expects students to fail, so she can build them up - foolishly believing that is teaching.
Professor Sanders was fabulous and I will definitely take her again. I took her class online and her responses to questions or papers was always clear and concise. She is also a very fair professor and she expects the best from her students. Definitely a great lady and professor!!
Prof Sanders is an excellent professor. Her syllabus clearly outlines what she expects out of your work and she gives steps for the essays to make you successful. Very caring professor and wants students to be the best they can be! If you read the assigned material and follow directions, you will excel in the class.
I took Professor Sanders previously for her Comp 2 class and she was great in both classes. There are few assignments but they are a lot of work. She answers her emails very quickly so it is easy if you have questions.
Syllabus outlines the course very clearly. Easy to follow and not difficult essays.
Took this class for my nursing school application. Dr. Sanders was always very quick with grading and replying to any questions. Would take her class again for sure.
Gets back to your essay writings within minutes and gives great feedback. I don't love how she grades -- she doesn't grade any papers but either accepts or unaccepts the paper. If you pass the departmental exam, you get a C and then there are two more papers to determine whether you get an A or B. But she's a solid teacher and you should take her!
First six papers don't matter as long as you get them accepted in time to move onto the C exam, B paper, and A paper. It's an easy class and it's very possible to get an A; However, the stress of the last three assignments in the class determining your grade is a little much at times.
I took American Lit II online with her and it was great. Three papers and one in person test. Clear grading criteria and plenty of time to complete each assignment. She responds very promptly to email with any questions/concerns. Very understanding teacher.
Really reasonable teacher and super accessable online. She responds very quickly to emails and she isn't unreasonable.
Got dropped in from this class because I didnt make the deadline of 3 paper when I had 5 papers done that she had never graded. Went to office hours before the deadline hoping to have her look over my completed papers but she refused to even look over them and said I would be dropped. Same exact thing happened to my friend, she did not drop him.
Dr. Sanders is a wonderful professor. I took several on-line classes and had a great learning experience. The expectations are clear and she is available for questions. My papers were graded quickly and she answers questions fast as well. The one time I called her office, she was very nice and friendly on the phone. I would take her class again.
Assignments are fine as long as you read what is needed, and gives lots of room to write about what you want within the guidelines of the assignment. Flexible with how to turn in papers. Gives straightforward replies within quick timeframes. I personally did not need assistance, but they seem completely willing to help with anything as needed.
Ive been having a problem with Sanders, I dont know if she does not like me or whats going on, but for every paper I have to go to the learning lab multiple times and have other professors revise them and help me edit them just for her to not like them, her emails are vague and when you ask her to explain what she means she barley explains it.
You have to do 6 essays to be able to make an A, B, or C. Once the first 6 essays are accepted, you do the C essay. Once the C is accepted, you do the B essay, and so on. If all your essays are accepted you get an A. No numerical grading, essay topics are fairly easy, and not much textbook use. Work hard and you'll get an A.
I am currently in Dr. Sanders' online course. Her website and responding emails are littered with grammar and spelling mistakes making her hard to understand. She also makes very little effort to really explain her expectations of the edits she'd like to see in her students papers. Her only good quality is how quickly she responds to emails.
She is truly amazing. I went once during her office hours and I told her how hard it is to for me to make it to office hours and she was like you dont have to come in and I could communicate with her though email. She is very helpful and you will not feel dumb with her. She never makes it seem like she is above you. Follow direction, easy A.
I genuinely enjoyed this class and comp 1. At first, I thought I was a terrible writer, but after both semesters, I now feel that I have a stronger writing ability, and I owe that to professor Sanders. She is a sweet lady, who was always kind, accommodating, and very easy to contact. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone.
After taking both English Composition 1 & 2, I can confidently say that Professor Sanders is a great choice when it comes to taking English at ACC. Her class is probably one of the easiest. All you have to do it turn in your papers on time and you will for sure pass. She is very understanding and always lets you know your grade in a timely manner.
I took English Comp 1 and 2 with Professor Sanders. She is a very nice lady who wants you to succeed. She replies to emails in a timely manner and is very helpful in office hours. You have to keep up with the papers to get an A. Do not procrastinate and miss the deadlines because you can be withdrawn from the course for not keeping up.
Dr. Sanders is very responsive to students. She is very encouraging and incredibly helpful if yo ask for help. She always responds to questions quickly and gets papers graded very fast. She is a professor I would love to have again!
I've taken two of Professor Sanders' classes and she is a true gem in the English world. Her required readings are interesting and she has clear guidelines to follow. Additionally, she is one of the best professors when it comes to communicating with students and answering emails. Follow the guidelines for an easy A!
Follow the syllabus and layout of the papers
Sanders wants you to critically think. If you are used to turning in rushed papers, she will shut that down. It is important to do whatever you need to meet her expectations. I did have to use supplemental aids like youtube vids for some stories. I asked MANY questions, she will practically give you the ideas she wants. Follow her sched closely.
I'm almost finished with Engl 1301. I've written 6 papers so far, and will take the C test next week. Dr. Sanders is very straightforward and cuts right to the chase. She also responds via email fairly quickly which I appreciate! (A little nervous and stressed about the last 3 papers that will determine my grade.) I reccommened her!
Horrible teacher does not care about her students and never is in class or office hours. Gives very little feedback and keeps you guessing what you did wrong. Very passive aggressive and with not hear your side of the story even if you are right
I took her online class and she was the worst! She was not careing nor was she understanding. There are 3 essays lumped into 1 grade and there are 4 grades total. S a lot a work for very few credit. She is not techy and will drop you for stupid reasons. I took Comp 2 at ACC but she still asks for you to show proof. It's ridiculous.
I took Dr. Sanders comp 1 online course and she responds very quick with any errors you may have done. For example, I sent her a paper at 4 in the morning and she responded at 4:32 am, so she definitely cares about you and your work. I would highly recommend it, and I am taking her comp 2 online next semester.
Prof Sanders is one of my favorites at ACC. She clearly gives you directions and deadlines to every paper for the semester in the syllabus on the first day so you already know the prompts and deadlines. She gives great feedback so your papers will get approved. Super nice and caring, class lasts like 20 mins. Definitely recommend her and her class
To get an A in the class you will write a total of 8 essays and another essay for a test. I wish out of all the writing I couldve gotten a little feedback on how I could improve or what I was doing right and should keep doing. I dont feel like it was worth writing so much if it didnt expand my knowledge in writing.
When you write your analysis essay on a short story, open to your interpretation, she's only looking for one RIGHT answer and if you don't get it you have to rewrite the whole thing. Her emails have lots of grammatical errors. Her grading isn't clear, doesn't even mark your actual paper. Needs to just give prompts for us to answer! Don't take her.
This class is a pretty easy A as long as you meet the deadlines on time and do the required readings for each essay. I enjoyed the material that the essays pertained too. Professor Sanders was very accessible and answered emails within one day.
Her online ENGL 1302 was much more difficult than ENGL 1301. But if you read and genuinely try, you will do well. She responds quickly and always answers my questions. I finished the 16wk class 8 weeks ahead of schedule with an A. If you are willing to work hard, put in effort, and ask questions you will do great with Dr. Sanders!!
Her emails are laced with grammatical errors. Her syllabus has a bunch of misspellings and is confusing. Seems like its impossible to win with her. I try to do good in all my classes and had very little problems in ENGL 1301 with a different teacher. Very frustrating to put hours of work into an essay just to have it completely torn apart.
Every essay had to be submitted multiple times before it was accepted. She gave little feedback, maybe 3, 5 word sentences at a time. Everything needs to match her view, no room for individual interpretation. 10/10 would not recommend. I gave her 1 star because she does respond quite fast compared to other profs.
If you like to blindly guess which interpretation of a paper is the one Dr. Sanders will will approve, you should totally take her class. She only accepts the specific central idea that she is thinking of, but she gives no direction for you to figure out if you've got it right. Her syllabus is also riddled with grammatical errors.
Professor Sanders is an angel. She's straight to the point and does not waste any of your time going over useless information. Gives solid deadlines and as long as you do the work she gives you by the deadlines you will get an A. Learned lots of good information from this class without any of that extra unnecessary stuff. BEST comp teacher!
Sanders is caring & her class is easy to pass. As long as you can write one essay per week, you'll do great. Most papers aren't long & you get accept, revise, rewrite. She always gives you a chance to revise sentences. She is specific about central idea, but will help you. There are deadlines each week, but class is kinda self paced. I recommend.
Great professor and I was glad to be in her class. I would recommend taking her for English Comp I and II. In no way is this class a total blowoff but if you put in effort while writing your papers the worst that happens Is that you had to correct or rewrite. Would definitely recommended to anyone who needs an English course.
Makes you work for your grade but is very willing to help you where need be. Very very responsive when emailed and gets back to you quickly. I appreciated her responsivness and willingness to help when I was struggling. Lets you work ahead also which is helpful for those that use it.
I took this online course to fulfill my literature requirement and loved it! There are 3 papers and 1 take-home quiz (four grades total) but they were not difficult at all. You get to choose the readings/poems from the textbook and the novel from a list of books for the last paper. This class is an easy A if you put in the work and meet deadlines.
I learned a lot in her class over the summer. I feel like I am able to write better papers after her course!
This was my third semester with this professor and I have loved having her each time! She is super responsive and always provides good feedback on papers. I am not the best at writing papers or analyzing stories but she always helped make sure I was on the right track.
You either interpret the story as she does, or she doesn't accept your paper. Revision emails have TONS of misspellings and are unclear. Directly contradicts the handouts she gives you. Unwilling to move deadlines no matter the circumstances (ex: severe COVID-19 complications). Threatened to drop me because a typo "showed my lack of dedication".
Am Lit II: was flexible about textbook edition (saves you money), required 3 papers for a 5-week class. Prof. Sanders was accessible and answered any question I asked her. I struggled to find common ground with her on short story themes, but still managed an A. I would take her again, but I would recommend a longer term if not an English major.
Do not take this class. When I turned in one of my papers two weeks before the deadline, she gave me some corrections (not a problem) which I then corrected and turned in. On the day it was due, she told me to rewrite the entire thing. Because of her negligence, I have spent the last week trying to turn this paper in to no avail...
This makes me want to ESCAPE to the 3rd floor of the EMU.
Typos in the syllabus, typos in her emails, typos on her blackboard page. REFUSES to give helpful feedback and will instead just copy/paste her first response over and over till you stop asking. Doesn't seem interested in teaching at all, should really not be in an instruction role with her lazy, not my problem, demeanor.
Two semesters (1301, 1302) with Dr. Judy, and it's been great! She is always ready to help and pushes you to polish your papers to exceed the requirements. Over these two semesters, I feel like I have improved tremendously in my writing and overall English. I'm bilingual and this has been such a great learning curve. Thank you, Dr. Judy!
If you take a COMP class, you should expect to write a paper per week, that's fine. But Dr. Sanders is pretty tough to take online. Her assignments contradict themselves and her e-mails are vague. She's a quick grader, which makes it easy to work ahead, but beware that the A paper is 2 papers in one and it contradicts everything learned in ENG1301.
Judy Sanders has been one of my favorite teachers at ACC. The class mostly reads short stories, analyzes, and writes essays that get more complex the further in class you get. Prof. Sanders gives you multiple chances for most essays and gives feedback to help students learn. In this class, you will need to manage your time, get ahead if you can!
Get ready to read short stories and write analytical papers on it y'all. Professor Sanders gets back to you quickly, gives pointers and does give you chances to edit your paper. She's very specific on what she wants to see in each paper but it does go back to whether or not you understood the subject and story. I would def take her class again.
So I started with a C in the class. It was a while since I had to write papers as she wanted. I emailed her, and she gave me the guidance I needed to pass and get a B in the class. With every paper, I improved, and so did my confidence in writing with her help. Prepare for a challenge, but what she is asking for is fair.
To succeed in this course a student will need to be willing to learn how Professor Sanders grades papers. This course was my third semester with this professor and I found little difficulty in receiving full credit for each paper. This is in comparison to my first course where I was asked to rewrite multiple papers. Be diligent and do well!
I've taken both Comp1 and Comp2 with Professor Sanders, both online. She gives you all the paper deadlines and grading criteria ahead of time, so there are no surprises. She was always happy to chat with me on the phone whenever I had questions, and she always gave great feedback to make sure I was on the right track.
Prof Sanders is fantastic. Quick responses, engaged with students. For an A, be prepared to do a lot of reading in this course, and be ready to use your critical thinking skills. Follow instructions, put in effort and the course is enjoyable. There are a lot of free choices for material. Work is done independently and due dates are reasonable.
I took this professor for a distance learning class. She is responsive to emails and is fair in her grading. As long as you stay on top of your assignments and do the work, then you will receive an A in this class.
Does not use blackboard and chooses to do everything via email. Papers do not receive a grade. She must "accept" your paper in order for you to submit the next one. Six weeks into this course and I am being withdrawn because one of my papers wasn't accepted, even though I have written and submitted all four papers. Would not take again.
This class is characterized by unclear communication, inconsistent grading, and a lack of flexibility with revisions. She has a tendency to make students revise their work repeatedly until it aligns with her interpretation. Consider these factors before enrolling, unless you're a mind reader.
This professor does not care about your analysis of a story. She wants you to imagine and try to figure out what she thinks about the story and then write. She does not foster thought in her classes but would rather you see stories through her eyes and write accordingly. Highly recommend choosing a different class. Avoid at all costs
Judy's class was a mixed bag - inconsistent feedback, but she pushed us to improve our writing. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep. Overall, the class was challenging but rewarding if you stay engaged.
This class is characterized by unclear communication, inconsistent grading, and a lack of flexibility with revisions. She has a tendency to make students revise their work repeatedly until it aligns with her interpretation. This class was the worst ever ! Do not recommend!! I revised so many times even with tutors and it was still wrong !!
Although the class was based on 4 papers, she made everything very clear and accessible. The professor responds fast and can be very understanding. Papers can be long but there are only 4 so an A is very obtainable.
