She does not know how to use the Blackboard system correctly. her tests are in microsoft word format. you have to check the online class...EVERYDAY. make sure you look at the calender because she just throws stuff up there. this is the worst online class i ever took.

This perticular teacher I found most unhelpful and quite biased. She will not listen to opposing opinions and tends to discriminate against students who oppose her. I would not wish her upon my worst enemy. This is coming from an honors student with a 3.5.

She is unclear, hard to understand, and not friendly at all. Offers no positives, just all of the negatives she can possibly find. I'm an A student, but will probably end up with a C. I complete everything on time and thoroughly, but she tears it apart and gives me negative feedback all the time.

Biased and you can't understand her assignments. We aren't stupid and its impossible to get an A in her class. I have given up and just complete what I think she wants which ends up not being what she wants. An A student will now get his first C.

Hard class. Watch calendar daily because you will get to end of what is due and then she will post things due the next day. Very hard to understand.

Completely biased and most useless professor I have ever taken. Assignments are unclear and grades are NOT negotiable. When I tried to meet with her about my grade she proceeded to tell me how much she didn't like me personally. Grades impossibly & gives assignments that are nearly impossible to complete with the info given. Expect a C or lower

I loved english before I took this professor, and she killed it. I still do not know what she was talking about on a daily basis, yes she was very unwilling to listen to others ideas, it was either her way or the high way. I did not learn a thing.

Don't take this teacher. Worst teacher I've ever had. If you answer a question and it's wrong she gives you a death stare. She also looks at you like your dumb half of the time.She is not very organized, likes to make up homework assignments on the spot, then doesn't collect them in class. I recommend no one to take her.

The WORST instructor I have ever had. Her assignments make absolutely NO sense! Never once got a complement on my work, but instead criticized on every assignment I turned in. Never had an issue with English until now. I wanted to drop the class within a month being in it, but decided to just try to deal with her and accept a low grade

Took her for an online course and she's the WORST. I always try to give my profs the benefit of the doubt, but she's terrible. TONS of work, and most of it is just busy work. Her questions often do not make sense, and even if you get an A she'll still find a way to criticize your work. She posts assignments at the last minute, which is infuriating!

She's ridiculous. She believes only her opinions are correct when in an english class every opinion is correct. The only opinion that would be right is the original author and I don't see Judy's name in our books anywhere. I would raise my hand all class period with answers or opinions and she never calls on me, because of my opinions. Worst EVER!

Professor Schmidt is the worst professor/teacher I have ever had in my life. She is rude, ignorant, inconsiderate, and selfish. I got a 70% on my first paper. I spoke with her about how I can improve, and she refused to help me, and said, "I only give A's to those who are natural born writers." My next paper was a 68.

Would not take this teacher again, totally unclear of assisgments, underminds students and does not help when you ask questions.

This class requires a lot of reading and analyzing. Instructions and due dates are not always clear and there is A LOT of work with little time to accomplish it. There isn't much instruction. Pretty much read, post and THEN find out what she wanted you to learn.

Tough teacher. Rude and loves to argue with students. Enjoys to make students feel as if they are always "Wrong", even if it is opinion based. Long lectures that have nothing really to do with what is going on in the class. No clear grading criteria. Confusing. If you ask a question to your neighbor, SHE WILL interrupt the class to single you out.

Never gave much instruction on any writing assignment. Her feedback was contradicting to what the assignment was about half the time. Choose a different professor if you want a good grade.

Absolute worse professor I have had yet. Her grading scale was very unclear. She asked questions like "what do you think..." and when you reply with what you think she says you are wrong. She takes forever to grade one assignment. I would not recommend her as a professor.

She doesn't grade very hard, but that's a good thing because she doesn't teach much at all. We will discuss one thing for a whole class and I'll leave wondering what it had to do with anything. There's a lot of papers and they can be stressful because she doesn't help much at all

lack of actual teaching; her negative feedback makes you feel like you should drop out; contradicts herself in regards to assignments and what she is looking for; DP is answered correctly, she won't tell you why it's right; her responses to questions leave you even more confused; DISORGANIZED MATERIAL; she just doesn't make sense 99% of the time.

She will give you absolutely no help on any of your papers. I asked for help and she refused to give me any and i got a 70 on the paper! On our first paper she only gave one student an A and about 4 a B and the rest were 75 and below. It is very hard to pay attention and stay awake. She is very rude. If you don't care about your grade then this is the teacher. I have never gotten a grade lower than 85 and at the moment i have a 70% in her class. she refuses to help you and this is english 101! there are 2 main papers and then a cause and effect research bibliography. She gave one video quiz which was stupid.

I just finished my second assignment with her for the online ENG 101 course - DP Narrative Significance 1 - and needless to say, if you do not conform to her analysis of a narrative, you WILL get belittled and you WILL NOT get anything actually constructive to help you conform to her twisted way of thinking. Good luck if you are stuck with her.

Very tough grader that offers no help with assignments and essays as well as being unbelievably vague with what she requires for assignments. is completely rude and strict.

Professor Shmidt seemed like an okay person, however none of my work seemed to be good enough for her. Her feedback was not clear on assignments, and If you go to speak to her outside of class she will not help.

This professor was extremely unclear in communicating with us. Her emails were filled with so many typos that I often had a hard time discerning what she was trying to communicate. English is my strong subject, and she made me feel like I had no idea what I was doing - mainly because her expectations were unclear. Very frustrating!! My only B.

One of the worst profs. I have taken. The instructions are unclear and she does very little to help outside of class, English has always been one of my best subjects, yet she managed to make me feel like I had no clue what was going on. She doesnt take kindly to opinions that differ from hers, quickly shooting down students that disagree with her.

I have always loved English and writing, however, I wanted to get through this online class as soon as possible. Make sure you meet all of Professor Schmidt's requirements and expectations or she will make sure to point out what you did wrong. Discussion posts must be thorough. An A isn't impossible, but it's definitely a challenge.

Great and friendly person but an absolutely horrible professor. Her assignments are unclear at best and at worst, down right impossible to complete to her satisfaction. Almost all of my essays were handed back to me even though I had my family (most of whom are published authors and English majors) help me with each one.

I've always been a great A+ English student, until this class. This professor is very rude and has the "my way or no way" mindset. I missed her first assignment because her class calendar is unclear so I had to make my way up from a zero percent, which is very hard. I don't know how she's still a professor! Avoid her at all costs.

Ive never had a professor make me dread coming to class more than her. She would tell me my ideas were wrong and they would fit her liking. Teachers arent suppose to make you feel small and that is exactly what she did.

I asked her for a rubric for an upcoming 7+ page paper to which she responded by saying that because she is an "educated woman", she doesn't feel the need to use a rubric and will not give one to her students. She is condescending when she talks to students. Does not use D2L. Gives you a ton of handouts and makeshift calendars. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!

This professor was the worst teacher I have ever had by far at hacc. She is not clear with her directions, so you really dont know what she wants on papers. She is very bias with her views, your are always wrong if you do not agree with her opinion. I would not recommend her to ANYONE!

Worst professor I have ever had and I only had her for a week before deciding to drop her class. Her course calendar and syllabus did not match up and there were many mistakes. After politely sharing my confusion with her, she began to accuse me of looking at another classes syllabus and of not knowing what I'm talking about. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Terrible, just terrible!! She gave me a C because my views didnt align with hers , so in her eyes I deserved a low grade. I think shes more focused about her own skills and writing that she actually lacks the quality of being an effective teacher. What a wast of time. The class wasnt even hard it was her explanations that made it difficult.

I had Professor Schmidt in the fall of 2018 and it was one of the worst classes I had ever taken. Instructions for assignments were never fully clear and she was never happy with papers unless they said basically what she asked you to write. She had a very bad temper and would roll her eyes at some students when they would answer her. Do not take!!

I have never hated showing up to a class before like i do this one. I come to class constantly fearful that my ideas will be shut down and not accepted. My grades werent bad, but I was actually scared to come to class because I was afraid of being passive aggressively corrected when answering any questions in class. Her instructions are never clear and she tends to forget things a lot, especially whether or not she assigned something. Avoid her.

I chose this class because I was interested in early American literature. Unfortunately, the criteria for grading was never clearly established and she never gave rubrics. She was obviously looking for very specific responses, but never specified what they should be. Communication was poor and often misspelled with wrong page references. awful!!!!

No rubrics, Instructions are unclear, and overall an unpleasant experience. I would dread coming to this class every other morning. Any thoughts and ideas you have, she will shut them down quick. Its her way or no way. I do not recommend this class.

I would never have her as a professor again. Shes very conceding, unwelcoming, incapable of being understanding and quite frankly rude. Apart from those unpleasant qualities, I wouldnt say I learned much from her class. And she does not make you feel as if you can approach her with questions however, if you did you wouldnt get a clear response.

Worst class Ive ever taken by far... Expected 6 page papers less than a week from being assigned, then was super rude when grading and expected the paper to be perfect even though we only had 5 days to work on it. Ridiculous! Didnt understand basic computer technology so following along in class was super difficult.

Worst professor I have had at HACC. Due to coronavirus we had to take her online class. Shes terrible at explaining things, she does not take into account that some of us are going through difficult times. This old lady is self centered and only cares about herself. Just retire already! You will be doing everyone a favor!!

The worst teacher I have ever had. She took days to answer my emails when I had questions about class. She was very condescending and only likes answers that she agrees with politically. I turned in a paper for a controversial topic assignment that we had and she told me she couldn't give me feed back because she wasn't familiar with my topic.

This class was hard on me mentally. Professor Schmidt was not a joy to be around, I constantly felt judged by her. The lectures weren't great and she graded really tough. There were 4 main papers and a few quizzes and other assignments. The book she chose for us to read at the end of the sem. was good. That was the only positive.

Anyone who has a different perspective than hers is automatically wrong and she will belittle you for it. Not to mention she tries to apply her political "morals" to the class. I have excelled in every literature course minus this class. She does not clearly explain readings but instead she beats around the bush and leaves you clueless. STAY AWAY!

Im not even halfway through her class yet and I already regret taking it. She is so rude to people who dont think the exact same thing as her. She has no personable skills and I wouldnt recommend her class to anyone. Not even to the person I hate the most.

I asked this professor for advice multiple times hoping to start to understand the content better, but, unfortunately, she would just talk around my questions and never give me an actual answer. Taking this class you can tell that Judy is working just for a pay check and not for the joy of learning. I don't think people like her should not work in a college setting. She projects her negative feelings into the courses feedback which isn't professional.

When asked a question about an assignment due via email she takes days to respond and then has an attitude like you have inconvenienced her life and makes smart remarks. As a professor she should be willing to help,answer students questions especially during online learning this is not a setting any one wants to be in. She needs an attitude check!!

I already posted once about her being terrible, but accidentally put that her class was easy. It was not. Its hard because she doesnt understand how to communicate expectations to her students and if you cant read her mind, she wont give you a good grade.

Awful professor, taking an accelerated English class and if she doesn't understand your point then you get bad grades. I tell my friends that she would be underneath the urban dictionary explanation for why people hate English teachers. I wrote a very heavy paper about my past & she gave me a C on it even though I got a friend of mine to look at it

Her instructions are confusing and she cannot diagram a sentence correctly. Her words start with two uppercase letters. And she tells me my paper has gaps and is not significant enough to understand. If I say my paper about my own life is complete, then it is. I do not care if she's the professor.

Her online course uses shorthand words without any details indicating what it means. I am guessing what is due and what is being asked of me in assignments. She isn't clear. Her online course is a nightmare. She doesn't accept late work. For an English teacher, I would think she would use full sentences and give clear instructions, she doesn't.
