worst teacher ever!!!!

Ms. Solis is quite possibly one of the worst teachers at VVC. Doesn't grade homework, doesn't follow the lesson plan. Changes her mind about assingments. I don't mean to be mean because I passed in her class but I did not learn one thing about English. What I did learn is listen to you're instincts and get out while you can.

Warning: do not take her class!!! VERY subjective teacher! She askes you to buy textbooks that you'll never use! Asks for assignments that she never grades! Very unorganized!She won't even give you a syllabus with due dates or assignments. Gardes on a whim. Caution!!!

She urks my nerves she's irritating she yelled at me for no reason in front of people she's to sarcastic I recommend no one to take her and she grades super hard

Took class online; sadly teacher can't run blackboard at all!Assignments don't show up; or link for downloading it didn't work; or it would be there one day but not the next.She would get mad because I would email her class/home work & didn't submit through blackboard. Tried going to her in person & that was a joke as well; was "too busy to talk"

There are two classes that I have taken, that were the worst courses I have had in my life. This is one of them, along with Journalism 108 with John Cromshow. Save yourself. If you have to take her, its not impossible to pass, just be mentally prepared, stay strong and muscle though it.

Solis was unorganized. That is being polite. Midway through semester had us buy a different book on a whim. Doesn't follow her syllabus. I think how she ran class week to week was just as much of a surprise to her as it was to us. I have to retake this course & I know she made mistakes on my grading but was too stubborn to review my paperwork.

Her and her husband are horrible. They're both rude, and not instructors at all. Rather judgmental people towards their students. Only concerned about making money and could care less about their students and enjoys seeing their students suffer. They're not teachers, just evil people. Not lying either.

One of the most unorganized professor I have ever taken. You will not know your grade since she never updates grade book. Rarely followed syllabus. Assignments are not hard, it's getting them back that is the problem. She lost our paper that was going to be extra credit for the class so she decided not to give extra credit after all.

The class that was taken was english 50. She is kind of nice at least, never really responded to my calls, emails or questions. My biggest concern is that she lost assignments that I turned in before the due date.. but they were submitted through blackboard!!! If you like headaches and decreasing your life span, feel free to take this class.

She's really unorganized. Knows what she's doing but doesn't have it all together. Didn't receive syllabus at all for the whole semester although she promised one. She doesn't grade anything but watch out if you miss class she'll notice and drop you even with the inability to provide a syllabus. I couldn't do it.

She is very unorganized! Have not received majority of work completed, hopefully work is not lost. Tough grader, quizzes taken in the classroom with a time limit yet she's still very strict about grammar and takes points off for every mistake. Most lectures were pointless,didn't pertain to our class then she rushes to give info at the last minute.

Solis is awful. Shes unorganized and I felt like every time Id ask her something shed judge me in her mind. I thought she was going to be cool. Although I read these reviews saying it before taking her class, it was what worked with my schedule. I failed so I have to take an English 102 course again. Trust me, definitely not taking it with her!

One of the projects was analyzing a painting... I started wondering if this was an English class or painting class... Not to mention I emailed several times for clarification with no reply. What's interesting is her own grammar is not that great and she does not base work on the book we had to buy... Whish I would have gotten a different teacher.

The way that Solis sets up Blackboard is just utterly confusing. There is stuff all over the place. Here a link, there a link, everywhere a link link .... She is an extremely hard grader. She provides feedback but sometimes it has nothing to do with what the assignment is. Word of advice... take her on-campus, maybe then it will be manageable.

This teacher is straight up ridiculous I knew I should've back out of this class when I had the chance but I need the class and wanted to get it over with, biggest mistake ever!!! The way she grades is just beyond stupid for a littler error she marks down so much points instead of like one or two points. If you need a sign DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!

the class could use improvement. There were a lot of assignments that were not turned in and papers that were turned in, you never got a grade back on. class seemed to be a lot of waste of time.

Do not take this professor. She picks who she likes and gives them a better grade. If she does not like you she will never give your work back. Therefore you do not know what your grade for that class is. Essays are not hard, but like I said she picks who she likes. Class was very boring and long. Youre required to buy a book you will never use.

Horrible grader, my previous english classes, I had left with an A and a B thinking I was a fairly decent writer. However, being in her class I quickly realized that she is overly tough and marks down a ton of points for such minuscule errors. Would not recommend, fortunately I was able to drop the class in time before my grade plummeted.

Judy Solis will leave "assignments" under the assignments tab but then declare they aren't assignments, all of her assignments were under announcements. She takes forever to grade anything so once you finally hear back on what you did wrong on the last paper, you've already had to turn in like 2 more. She's super strict and I DON'T recommend!!!

Solis is by far the hardest English professor on campus. Her quizzes are difficult as majority of the questions make no sense. When the directions say "in your own opinion", it does not matter. She takes away credit for minor mistakes that are unintentional. Everyone makes mistakes, but it seems that perfection is key to pass this class.

if you are looking for a class with a teacher that actually cares about you and your understanding of the class then this is NOT the class for you!! This teacher is a joke she will assign work all semester and does not accept late work, however, she will not grade a single one of your assignments until the end of the semester unsure of final grade

Terrible teacher! She will not answer any questions you have, and if she does she's so rude about it! The semester has just ended and there still 9 assignments I turned in she hasn't even graded yet, 1 from March 28. Will take away 2 points for every misplaced comma, and if you answer the questions directly its still not good enough for even a C

This teacher is the worst. She is not nice when it comes to grading, she does not reply to messages, she is too perfectionist when it comes to work, I definately would not take her again and would not recommend at "ALL"

To be honest this class is wasted of time and she gives lot of homework and she dont make senes when it come to homework . dont take this clsss you will be mad

This professor does not have a clear grading rubric, you are left guessing what she wants you to do. takes upwards of 4 weeks to grade anything & leaves confusing comments w/ unclear abbreviations to guide you. Biggest problem I had was telling me not to go off topic, but docking points from papers for not going off topic to detail other plots.

I would not recommend this professor if you are hoping to get back grade quickly. If you plan on passing this class , you better know what youre doing because she doesnt give you much feedback bc of her late grading. She misinterprets things fairly easy which makes it hard for you to contact her, I wouldnt recommend her if you need extra help

She is too confusing. She writes too much. If she is going to write so much she should explain herself better.

Professor has difficulty conveying clear expectations. Her grading scale never reflected what the assignments called for. She is difficult to receive a decent grade. Would not recommend taking her class if you are looking to learn and progress. Shes rude and graded the entire class with extremely low grades.

SHE WAS TERRIBLE. SHE LET ME DO OUR PAPER ON ABORTION AND SHE DIDNT AGREE ANS GAVE ME AN F IT WAS OUR FINAL AS WELL. NEVER TAKE HER SHES SO RUDE AND DOESNT ANSWER ANY OF YOUR QUESTIONS

Simply awful. Do NOT take this class with professor Solis. She is the most unclear professor. All of her course material (lectures/assignments/exams) are difficult to understand while including occasional typos in areas of important instruction. No helpful feedback. No communication. Extremely tough, RUDE, and unclear grader. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!

I'm convinced that Judy Solis doesn't understand the point of literature. Her grading criteria saw B's turn to Fs over lousy, objective opinions and let's not even get into her late-work policy. Hopefully you don't work, because she doesn't care; she'll refuse completed work 5 minutes after the deadline. Never take her class. Ever.

Unorganized. Not helpful. Threw a tizzy & hysterically started yelling in class when a student review pointed out her shortcomings. It takes months to get papers back. Don't waste your $$ on the book- you won't use it. She constantly changes lesson plans with no notice, no late work. She also grades you on her opinion, not if you've done it right.

Solis will take points off your assignments for MINOR mistakes. And she'll take so long to grade anything, that it's too late for you to fix anything and you have to watch your grade fall from an A to F in one day. She's rude and unclear in what she expects from you. My advice: Save yourself the panic attacks and avoid this professor. Waste of time

Prof. Solis is by far hardest prof Ive taken. She is confusing in what she writes. Does not help critiques your work for the smallest things. She threw a fit in the class one day when we were taking an exam, saying how she doesnt respect students who talk to her wrongly and went after everyone for it��

The emails she sent out to the class were passive aggressive and she was unlocking the assignment the same day it was due. you only have a few hours to read hours worth of work and take a test right after. Def a stressful class.

Do not take her. I am warning you. She has a bad temper, and she probably only replied to 10% of my messages to her.

She will literally give you ONE week to read a whole novel. We had 3 novels and multiple plays and short stories to read. The books themselves were good but we did not have enough time to actually read, understand, and enjoy them. The tests are insane. You have one class period to basically write a whole essay from memory. Do not take her.

So this professor assigns more work than shes willing to grade considering they will sit ungraded for 3 months before she even begins to do it, will not answer emails, shes rude and very unclear. She also changed the entire syllabus halfway through the semester and told no one until we had to buy another book (#4).

DO NOT TAKE HER NO MATTER WHAT she will not grade any of your work until the last minute. she excepts nothing late no matter what the circumstances are. even if it is a technical issue. discussions are mandatory but will not count for a grade. offers no makeups no extra credit. Will nit pick your writing. Dock me points for use of the word thing.

Do not take this class, she will open up assignments 1 day before due. critical grader knocks points for the dumbest reasons. she will not grade until weeks later. she does not respond to emails.

Probably the worst professor I have ever had. Has lots of complaints that work wasn't done right but doesn't want to explain it clearly to the students. DON'T SIGN FOR HER CLASS IF YOU WANT A GOOD GRADE because she won't give it to you unless you're a professional writer.

Very hard class and is very specific on grading assignments. To my experience no one has gotten a 100 on any assignments and is very strict grader and does not allow late assignments or any missing assignments. One of the hardest and strictest teacher I've ever taken, if you're taking the class make sure to read the instructions clearly.

So, I will preface by saying I am a completely online due to my full time job. I turned my assignments in on time, and did well. However, the prof did an extremely poor job of grading assignments on time, communication with the class, and being well.. an invested prof. Sort of disappointed, but she seems checked out. Do not recommend.

I don't recommend taking this class if you work or have other responsibilities. First, I had to remind her to grade my work, with two weeks left of the semester and she randomly assigns work whenever. Also, the whole point of taking online classes is for convenience. She opened a test for only 16 hours and I had to cancel my shift to take it.

Not very clear on what needs to be done.

I took her class and she would not accept that the Canvas app made a mistake with my file and only uploaded half the file. She gave me a bad grade anyway. She leaves no room error even thought I was not late to turn in my work. She decided to stop responding to me instead of trying to find a solution. I would not recommend taking her class.

All throughout high school English had been my favorite subject and Professor Solis made me hate it. You have very short time periods to turn in your assignments. Her grading is harsh. Her modules are disorganized and confusing, and she is just an overall cold person.

Professor Solis only grades you on your writing, she doesn't give you, your percentage in the class. will tell you that you'll pass her class but, in the end will fail you. I would not take her class ever again. I DO NOT recommend her class.

Reached out to her more than once and she has never gotten back to me. I am not sure what her grading process is, it makes zero sense. Her assignments are confusing and instructions are vague. By far the worst course I have taken at VVC, she is the least helpful prof. I have ever had.

From the teacher's point of view, I had to take my class again and when I did, what I learned was completely different. She doesn't teach well and he doesn't care. She wants you to be a professional in her class, if you don't know how to do it, that's your problem. Please, get another teacher and it will only ruin your GPA to be in this class.

Fails to communicate when you need help. Very tough grader. The workload isnt bad, its just that her instructions arent clear. I would not take her class again. I really gave this course my all and it wasn't enough.
