She thinks she knows everything in the world. The class was fun, despite the know it all mentality.

Ms. Allen was one of my most favorite teachers at GPC. Her class was interesting and enjoyable. I made an A. Her tests were easy and basically if you participated in class discussions you made an A. Slackers shouldnt take her class becuase she demands alot of out her students. However, she is real sweet and has a funny sense of humor.

Great professor! Humorous and always fair. Don't take her class if you're prejudiced or close minded. Fun and interesting discussion - everyone get a chance to share opinion. Attention to current events - easy enough. Tests are simple as long as you read the text (which is also interesting), she'll even review the text/test questions before exams.

Mrs. Allen is an excellent professor. She makes the class very interesting. Her test are simple and she even does a review to let you know what is on the test. If you have to take Sociology please take Mrs. Allen. If you take this class this will be an easy A for you.

The best teacher you can meet. She is fun, very funny and you can learn a lot. She knows a lot about what she teaching, and she don't take mess.so if you like learning and have fun at the same time take her.MAKE sure you take notes as she reads from the book, it is going to be on the test.

Well this teacher, for me at gpc, was the most fun. I took her evening class and it was one of the only things in da semester dat helped me relax!!! the reviews are awsome! just attend all classes, talk now and then, avoid disagreeing with her, and study the review stuff thoroughly!! A for sure then. and chose a unique topic for the term paper.

I took her evening class and she is truely a trip! I actually looked foreward to going to class b/c of the crazy topics covered. Although the textbook is highly used, she strays off topic into something hilarious. Her tests do need to be updated and are somewhat confusing. Easy A/B and interesting!

This was the BEST class I had ever taken at GPC. She is a really down to earth professor. She teaches in a first person prospective, making it a very easy class to attend. She allows for class opinions on ALL topics, no matter what's the topic.

I really liked this teacher. Stay on your Ps and Qs with her. If you disagree with what she says you must have proof, but don't back down. I would like for her to teach all my classes if she could. Read the book. She teaches from experience but test from book.

I really enjoyed her class. She applies sociology to the real world. Her class in based off of participation, and she has great discussions. I would definately recommend her to anyone looking for a good laugh.

Professor Allen was a joy to have. Her class is more of a dicussion/debate around the issues of sociology. The only flaw is you still have to read the entire chapter just to make sure she didn't forget anything because she may not cover it in the lecture but still test you on it. Also, she is there for the students and provides great assistance.

Her class is so much fun! If you read the chapyer you will be ok! Take her!

Prof Allen really cares about her students. She is extremely interested in teaching. If you read the textbook - you will do well. She grades very fairly. She has a way of relating real life to the text. The students in my class have nothing but positive feedback about our class. I really enjoyed this class.

I really enjoyed this class. Mrs Allen is very good at creating a atmosphere that makes you want to learn but before you realize you are having fun. Excellent repore with her students. I looked forward to the class. I am very glad she was my instuctor.

Very easy A. Read chapters and she goes over whats on test in class. Alot of fun, not boring at all. This is the only college level class that I liked, loved and wished never ended. Mrs. Allen rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must read the book, her Class is fun, Show up for classes on time she will give easy pop quiz. Great learning atmosphere..Very easy class

This is the best teacher ever! She was very relatable, and keep everyone on their toes when it came to learning. She wants all of her students to excel so there is never a problem with asking questions. Great debates happened in this class and Ms. Allen was always open and ready for them. She covers all the chapters in the book during her lectures!

Fun teacher, but has a tendancy to stray off topic

She took some getting used to but by the end of the semester I loved her. She strayed off subject a lot and didn't give any clue as to what would be on the test. But if you just study the definitions and listen to the lectures the test are pretty easy to pass. NO ONE should get lower than a B in this class

Mrs. Allen was a great professor! She is very entertaining and funny.Studying definitions is a must and reading all material. She does not give you clues on what the test will consist of,so be prepared! She is very understanding and communication is important! Overall I enjoyed her class and learned alot!

She was a good professor. She is very entertaining. She sticks to the syllabus so make sure you do the required reading. She will work with you as long as you communicate with her. You will learn a lot as long as you do the work and pay attention in class to the examples she gives. Overall she was a great professor.

Easy A, if you study from the book. It is true that she hates people when they disagree with her, but hell the class is an easy A, so who cares. Definitely read the book and quizzes are extremely easy. If you can't get an A then idk what to say lol. Attendance is mandatory, tests comes straight from the book, quizzes are common sense questions.

Juila or Professor Julia is a magnificant teacher, she is very well educated, and one of the best teacher i've had, to date. Ms. Allen is "funny" lol..nice and is very helpful in trying to get you to pass and understand sociology will doing it. To sum it all up Julia Allen is teacher of the year and you should sign up for her class..you'll pass!!

My absolute favorite teacher! Mrs. Allen is funny, witty, and extremely knowledgeable. Initially, I wasn't very enthused about taking Sociology but she made me want to attend class everyday. I would recommend her to everyone!

Professor Allen is one of THE BEST!!! She is very fun & she keeps class interesting!!! I took her @ 8:30 am and she was able to keep me woke & interested everyday. Workload & test pretty easy & fair as long as you read material. Class discussions are the best!!!

Easy A. I looked forward to attending her class everyday. SHe is very outgoing, outspoken and a lot of fun. By far the easiest class Ive ever taken. As long as you read the textbook and participate, EASY A. She gives the test, no cumlative final.

She feels strongly about research and her opinion behind the research. No point in arguing with her, just take in the information she shares. If you read the book in depth, the test won't be hard. The only reason she'll quizzes is if too many students are late. She gave spontaneous homework, nothing strenuous.

Professor Julia Allen is a wonderful and also a knowledgeable person. She makes the class fun! We had debates on everything. If you are smart you will take her!!!! Last but not least...she grades on the curve!

I took Mrs Allen Fall of 2011.Two thngs you need to know: (1)because she gets off topic a lot you HAVE to read the material before class, and (2)class participation is a MUST!She can be a little sarcastic but she means no harm. Laugh at her jokes, be on time to class & read the material = easy A.

Good teacher. Very funny, however she does tend get off topic. She doesnt give any homework..but if no one reads the material prior to class, then she'll start. There's only one research paper and 3 test. She can be a bit sarcastic but I found her to be hilarious. I take her again in a heartbeat. Just make you study and be on time.

Great teacher, im taking her class right now and that is the best class i have this semester. Shes funny, and full of good jokes while talking about the book. Read the book and do the HW and you will pass her class with an easy A. Oh and participate to the conversations, because Mrs Allen has a grade for participation. Take her class.

Dr. Allen is a great professor! It is a different learning experience because all teachers are not the same,but you just have to put in the work. She is all about equipping her students for success and she is very knowledgeable! Like I said,put in the work and you'll be fine.

Professor Allen love teaching students and you can tell. Of course, attend class regularly and be open to talking and having discussions. She goes by the text so thats what you need as well. Tests comes from the textbook too. Be prepared to read chapters for homework but its not too much. Shes very fair, likes to make jokes. Shes really fun :)

This is a thought promoting class, the instructor creates open dialogue where all opinions are accepted. Her sense of humor helps to make you feel comfortable in sharing your opinion on some controversial topics.

took her course over the summer and it was a breeze. as long as you come to class and read the required chapter then you will do fine. test, homework and quizzes come from the book and when having class discussions its easier to participate and take notes because she tells you exactly what you will need to know for the test.

I took intro to women's gender and sexuality with her online this semester. Super solid class! VERY EASY. If you are looking to kill some credits, or just need a class that is not going to need that much attention/effort, take hers. Easy grader, you need the textbook but its easy to navigate on the online version, and she responds pretty quickly.
