This class was one of my favorite that I have taken. She is an awesome teacher that goes out of her way to make the class both interesting and enjoyable. If you have to take this class, take it with her!

Professor Chinnis is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I did not have an interest in taking this class, but had to. She actually taught me a lot about public speaking and helped to get over the fear that I hadn't known that I had. She takes attendance very seriously and grades fairly.

This class is super easy and Mrs. Chinnis is the most flexible teacher I have ever had. The class is informative and lots of FUN and get to eat- Thats the best part. If your scared of public speaking I recommend her 100% Only 1 long speach the rest are fun and short and lots of group work. Everyone in the class became real close in the end.

This class should be taken express, it was so easy! You learn a lot about the folks in your class and she grades easily. Very sweet lady- don't buy the textbook, you won't need it.

class is easy except for most of the speeches she just kind of throws you out there. she's nice enough but if your taking the class at night, dont expect to get out too early. good class, easy to make friends because of some of the speeches and there's food. its a good class overall and reading the book assignments in my eyes was optional

She is a good prof. Taking as an express class is the best bet because it passes by so fast! The speeches aren't too bad and you don't use the book much. Overall I had fun in the class

great teacher... she grades you on your effort. show up to class and show effort.. the speeches are very easy because you choose what you want to talk about... don't waste your money on the book because you won't need it...

Easy class...show up do the work and you'll be fine. I absolutely hate public speaking but Prof. Chinnis made it bearable. Took it in the evening and she let us out two weeks early! Once all the work was completed.

One of the best if not the best professors at pbcc. Will help you out even while your doing your speech. Its a laboratory basically if you do something wrong she will let you know so you can do it write. If you come to class and listen to here you will pass with an A.

She is awesome. Easy class. Used the book twice at the beginning of class you really don't need the book. No test No written Final. Gives about 5 speeches final exam is a speech don't be absence or late on speech days strict about that. She takes performance days very serious turn in speech outlines on time. You will get an A! This is a fun class!

Mrs. Chinnis is so nice! I truly loved coming to her class, it is very easy! We used the book like once but she will swear that you need it.

Professor Chinnis made the class easy to pass. There is only 2 outlines and 1 two page paper due at the end of the semester. i was hesitant before taking this class only because i have a fear of public speaking in public. However she made it really easy, and though she talk as if she's about to cry, she was very helpful and nice.

She is very helpful. The class only had three written tests which was take-home tests. Your speech is where you'll really get graded on. We only used the book when we're taking the test, otherwise can be checked out from the library. Easy A. Take her.

Great professor. Only had 3 tests, take-home tests. The speeches are where your grades count hard, but easy pass. I never bought my book, I used the library'b book for the tests. We never used the book in class. Made the class fun. She's understanding. Take her.

This class was odd to stay the least. The teacher was clear on what she expected and she knows the material well. 5 speeches in 6 weeks no feedback on any. Special treatment for some (meaning some were unprepared and were still able to do speeches) some people she humiliated.If you take her do everything perfect on speech days or you will regret it

Really great and fun Professor. She lets you be relaxed in her class, just don't interrupt people during presentations and turn in the written work she asks for, its really a not a lot. This will probably be the most fun you will have in a class in college, period!!!

Great class, lots of fun activities and overall P. Chinnis class was a easy A:) She does get a bit anal and might interrupt during a presentation to correct you...which can stump some students. Besides that very minimal written work and more speeches...she doesn't give grades back so you have to ask her if you want to know where you stand.

Easy class to get an A in. Don't ever use the book so don't buy it. Speeches and your attendance make up your grade. A little bit confusing when asking her questions, but she makes you talk to everyone in class and make friends. Take it over the summer easy class.

From what I understand, if you going to take a speech class at the Lake Worth Campus, Ms. Chinnis is the professor to take it with. Although the class was very boring, I she made it as intresting as possible. Volunteeing gets you extra credit and make sure you come to class on time. I'm very glad I'm finished with this class.

Chinnis is the shiz. she forces everyone to get to know each other at the beginning. That way when its time to make speeches we aren't nervous. Made a lot of good friends. we also had some "parties" (it was an assignment but still)! her lectures are boring,but who cares. Only used the book twice. speeches are simple as well. @ most 5-7 mins.

Do as you're told. Show up to class. Not too hard of a speech class as long as you're willing to put in efforts and time. Easy A if you follow through with her criteria for each speech.

Honestly an amazing professor. Forces you to meet with everyone so you're comfortable presenting in front of class, super understanding and fair. Professor Chinnis values honesty and effort, and that's super awesome. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone looking for an easygoing speech class. Best class.

Awesome, super cool professor! Probably the easiest A ever. You do have to be on top of her about your grade. Only two tests and five speeches to do. Even if you are shy or have a language barrier, you still have a chance to pass. Just put in effort.

The class is well designed and very proactive. It will allow you to grow your verbal communication skills and to be a better student and a better person. Unfortunately, her consternation for cellphone use will upset her so much, that although the class and the teacher are worth taking and remembering, your experience will be severely affected.

Good Prof., Helps you overcome any anxiety that you will have during a speech. The class is easy, dont even bother getting the book, i only used mine for he first 3 weeks. Many group activities and she gives you an outline to follow for every major speech. Just Participate and show up early and you'll pass. But for real SHOW UP ON TIME

She is a very sweet lady and it's a super easy class. I am a dual enrollment student, and I'm glad I took it. She only gave us four speeches and doesn't discriminate against accents or people who are shy. You'll have many group activites, and the only homework is to prepare for your speech, which she'll give you a day to do. It's an essay A!

Ms. Chinnis is a great professor that really cares about her students and is understanding that they have lives outside of school. She does not ask much of her students other than to participate and complete a few speeches. As long as you do the assignment and follow her instruction/participate you will pass.

Prof. Chinnis is very sweet she tries her best to help students. her class is an easy pass you can get an A easily if you show up to class and do all of the assignments. she gives ZERO tests and exams. You give three major speeches and those makeup for the exams. She's a stickler for punctuality and locks her door on the days for speeches

Prof. Chinnis wants to see you improve. Participate in the class and you will do well. Her feedback is given honestly and to help you improve. Does not appreciate people who are not there to learn. She will get the whole class involved in-class group projects. Builds class comradery. Would take her again.

She was a super easy teacher, she was very nice and she gives many group activities so you end up being really good friends with everyone. All you do is 4 speeches and some activities and thats it. No quizzes or test and the final is a speech.

Prof Chinnis is amazing! Group discussions are essential. Text book is not necessary, she would ask you to purchase it but we opened it one time. She does NOT like late but if you text her before hand, she is understanding. I HIGHLY recommend. Easy A. No homework, quiz or test. Grade is on Speech and nervousness does NOT count against you.

When I first started speech all I could think about was I HATE speaking in front of the class. This professor is amazing!!! I highly recommend taking her. She takes away all your fears. She makes sure that you are comfortable in front of the class and does plenty of group activities so when you do a speech its not so bad.

You cannot fail this class unless you don't participate. As long as you try, you will recieve an automatic C for the project. Her projects and speeches are easy to do. DO NOT be late on speech days or you will be locked out. She can be tough on students when being late but overall a sweetheart.

I believe that the first introductory speech that requires you to switch roles with other person and introduce them is the most interesting out of all speeches. She's a nice a person but I think that SPC1017 is a waste of time, and people attend it only because it's mandatory. In 8 week there were 4 major speeches, ranging from 3-7 min, enjoy...

Professor Chinnis is amazing. She is passionate about teaching the art of speech. She is funny, knowledgeable and not boring at all. My in person class was interrupted by Covid-19, yet I still had an amazing semester with her. Easy A but of course you have to put in the work and effort.

Its easy to tell professor Chinnis cares for her students. Shes very understanding if you cant show up to lecture, just let her know ahead of time. Emails back and grades fast. Great lecturer and is clear on when and how she wants assignments to be done.

This class was very good she's a great professor but a little slow. She only has two quizes and they are very easy just have to write a paragraph for each question. the work is video submissions and its an easy A if you do it and participate. Passed the class with an A.

She gives 2 quizzes, 3 speeches, and a demonstration which all create the principle of communication. Make sure to not show up late on speech days because you will be locked out. Professor Chinnis is amazing! Everyone always told me speech was going to be a difficult class but, she made the material so easy to understand. Even if you don't like to speak in public, she makes the class environment very comfortable for everyone. The only thing she demands is that you have a voice and are on time!!

Professor Chinnis is a good teacher. Not the best, but definitely an easy class to pass if you're taking SPC1017. Grades based on quality and presentation of work. She takes outlines and punctuality seriously. Kind of rude in emails and doesn't give much feedback on the things that matter (speeches) Just make sure to ask questions and you'll pass.

i love professor chinnis. she can be a little intimidating at times but only whenever you dont follow the rules. she treats her students like kids or grandkids. i think she's a sweetheart!! workload is very light

Teacher doesn't put the assignments on canvas, but if you show up and pay attention it should be an easy A. She likes your personal stories and will give you better grades for them. No speech we did was long than 7 minutes ever. Would take her again.
