She's so much fun. Tests are super easy. She loves to show videos for the media portion of the class. leaves time for class discussion on issues. class was really enjoyable to attend and you don't even have to take real notes bc she publishes her power points. easy A.

Decker is awesome! She makes understanding politics easy and a littler more interesting. Easy multiple choice tests! Show up to class, take notes and you don't really need the book (I only skimmed through mine).

She was really great. She made class interesting and played music and clips and showed us pictures that had to do with the lecture. She gives you all the notes and slides online and she gives you test reviews. Just go to class follow her notes and study them and its and easy A!

Awesome teacher, by far my favorite of the entire semester. Only completion homework and the tests are not difficult, but you should go to class because she does test you over videos or examples on used in class and not on power points. Take her, you will lover her.

Easy Class!! All she requires is that you show up to the lectures. There are 4 tests and as long as you go over the review, or attend an IA study group you should make an A on every test. Attendance is mandatory, but she shows lots of videos and keeps the class interesting.

Cool person. Loves class participation and opinions. Goes over interesting events and relates everything back to real life. 5 tests, but she drops your lowest test grade. Homework assignments for every tests, but they ar graded on completion. Go to study sessions before tests, they're super helpful. She shows a lot of videos and interesting things.

I really enjoyed taking Professor Decker this semester for POSI 2310. She made the lectures very simple and fun to learn. She would play music videos and stuff before beginning and her tests were very easy to study for. She has a clear and interesting way of teaching. Take her!

Decker is a fun and interesting teacher. You can definitely tell that she's interested in what she's talking about, which makes it easier to learn. GO TO EVERY SI SESSION BEFORE THE TEST. It's fun class to attend and to watch funny/music videos before class begins. 4 tests can be tough. some homework. Comprehensive final exam are optional, though it help pull up your final grade. she is by far the best teacher i have had here at TXST. all of her lectures are entertaining, and easy to follow. if you ever need help with anything, she is always willing to do what she can if you come talk to her in person. i would recommend her to anyone.

Great teacher. Funny & very understanding of attendance, etc. since I had it at 8 am. Attendance is required, but if you show up & pay attention, tests are pretty easy. She was really interesting & lectures weren't too bad to listen to.

LOVED this teacher! She makes learning about POSI very interesting to everyone. Tests are really easy because she always gives a review powerpoint that includes almost everything that will be on the test. While you can only miss 3 class periods, a lot of classes you watch movies and have class discussions that are interesting. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Easy A! She creates interest in the topic and keeps her course nice & organized. Offers easy extra-credit opportunities and encourages you to speak up. Great for freshman or those returning to school. Impossible to fail. Also, she's super laid back and adorable. I wish I could put her in my pocket and carry her around.

Great teacher! Very organized and keeps it fresh and interesting... She's funny and doesn't even realize it!! You must study her slides and the reviews before each exam. The online homework is a must, and extra credit is a plus. Should be an easy B for a slacker and an easy A for a serious student. Take her! No final if you're happy with grade!

Honestly one of the best classes and teachers I've ever had the pleasure of taking. If you have half of a brain you'll be able to not only pass but excel, and although it was easy I still felt like I learned a whole lot. Plus, almost every week we watch some sort of video related to the class.

Professor Decker is very clear in her views. You watch a lot of videos. She gives extra credit for each test and a review. Decent professors. Much better than other professors at Texas State. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. All exams is based off her lectures. Final is optional and replaces the lowest of the 4 exam grades.

Super easy class with some controversial topics. She is one of those 'i'm not going to put my opinion in what I teach, but give you objective facts' but puts her opinion in things anyway. Just ignore it, study/memorize the review slide, and go to the study sessions to get the blanks filled in and you'll get an A with flying colors. Stupid class

Great professor. Engaging and likable. I showed up to every class, took notes and studied a decent amount, and the tests were all easy A's.

AWESOME Professor! Attendance isn't mandatory, but you'll love the class if you go. Pretty easy, attend lecture and look over the exam reviews and you'll do great. Requires very little studying, class is VERY interesting, and she respects everyone's opinions. She doesn't just read the powerpoint, she shows all sorts of outside sources = very fun!

Absolutely the best teacher I've ever had. She is very clear on everything, you don't use the book so don't buy it, just the connect program. Decker make Polisci very interesting. She gives a long powerpoint before every exam, and that's all you need to study, if you want. I never studied and got a B+ easily. Definitely take Decker.

I thought this class was going to be so boring, but Decker made it so Live. She made all the information relate-able. Go to class, look over the slides and you'll be fine. Just don't forget about the homework!

I love Decker! Don't need the textbook, just make sure to listen to the lectures. She doesnt take attendance, and the powerpoints are online, but going to class helps and her lectures are interesting! She's super cool and funny.

Decker amazingly relates to the students through her liberal perspective, humor, personal stories, and displays videos that make us understand/laugh. She encourages our voices and gives high-school-level exams. Class is not mandatory, but going to hear her discuss society issues is fulfilling. Her powerpoints and extensive research can pass you.

Wouldn't recommend any other teacher! I usually have hated all other Government classes I have taken, But Professor Decker made this class worth going to! She kept the lectures fun and interesting! And I am currently taking her for 2320!

Although Ms. Decker is a great teacher, I don't think this makes her class any easier. To me her test were really hard and there was SOOOO much information to study. Her test are usually over 4 lectures, but one lecture can make up 30 questions which I didn't find it fair. Some things that are on the test are not on the study guide as well.

At first, I was rather skeptical about her, but I ended up loving the class. Tests are easy so long as you actually look over the provided review, and the final is optional (if you took the regular exams)! If you take the exams and the final the lowest grade is dropped, too. Honestly, I did not do any of the HW, which is just a completion grade.

Great teacher! Class was usually fun but when it came to the exams, it was a struggle. She will answer your questions but you are kind of on your own come test time.

Decker's classes are easy. The tests are right off the reviews. However, she is extremely opinionated in her political views. Most of the class was spent learning her side of things. The book is very one sided as well. Easy class over-all. Would recommend.

Reviews are exactly like the test, if you read through them a few times and pay attention in class you can easily get an A. Only a few homework assignments and all are reviews for the test that help a ton. Optional final. Lectures about current events. Really interesting and funny.

You can tell she's very enthusiastic about politics and has been her entire life. Tests are easy. She's more oriented toward teaching you about the real world and how politics effects our lives.

She's very helpful, not many exams, just the right amount, you have to do some studying for the grade you want, but she tells you what to study. Favorite professor. She is super funny and can keep a class entertained. Attendance is mandatory sometimes.

Great class!! Took this just for my core credit and ended up having a little more interest in politics. Decker is awesome! She only has 5 mandatory in-class dates. Tests are fairly tough and reviews are pretty long. Overall she's a great professor fun and very laid back! She gives a lot of extra credit points.

Decker is a great professor! There are only 5 mandatory days, but she'll make you want to come to more than just those days. She's quirky and keeps lectures from being too boring, even if you're totally uninterested in politics. Tests are easy if you study the review (which can be lengthy but worthwhile to study).

Professor Decker was my favorite professor. She makes her lectures fun and she's such a funny person. She has In Class Days that are mandatory which gives you 2 points extra credit for each day onto your FINAL grade. So potentially you could get up to 10 points added onto your final grade at the end of the semester. Tests are basically the review.

If you have the chance to take Julia Decker, do it. I never knew I could be so interested in political science until I took her class. You can tell that she loves her field. If you take all 4 exams, final exam is optional. Just do the homework and extra credit every time and study the powerpoint review she gives, and you will have an A for sure.

Easy class and she's really funny. I made around an 87 test average, but the other grades she has bumps you up (aka, I'm pretty sure the homework is a completion grade and is a mini review). Has 5 mandatory days that she tells you about beforehand that are meant to boost your grade. Do the extra credit to get exempt from the optional final!

She is probably my favorite professor I had this semester. Class is optional but going to class will pretty much give you an A in the class. Her lectures were very entertaining so it made going to class a lot more fun. She knows what she is talking about and loves when you ask questions. Take her.

The prof. is very excited about the topic and know the material. The lectures are quick but she does post the PowerPoints on TRACS so that you can follow along in class. There is HW due on exam days but it is very simple and short, all the answers are given to you in lecture. Extra credit is given and is also due on exam days. Final is optional.

She is a very nice professor. Lectures are a little boring and are very fast but all notes are posted online. The reviews are very helpful if you really study them. I struggled with this class at first because at first I didn't study but once I did the tests were really easy. Some material on tests you had to be in class to know the answer to.

Her class wasn't too hard as long as you printed out the outline and followed along and took some notes. Print out the outline it will help you and save you the trouble of getting lost. Amazing professor and made the subjects meaningful to learn.

well cool chick and fun lectures but attendance isn't monitory and the reviews aren't clear cut. theres probably easier pool sci professors at the school, but if you have a passion for politics she's your girl.

I struggled with this class in the beginning. She gives test reviews but they are not word for word. You are guaranteed to pass if you know whats on it though. Go to her office after every test and see what you did wrong, take pictures of the test and study that for the optional final if you're grade is borderline. She's so cool & love politics

I absolutely LOVED Professor Decker. She's hilarious and such a genuine person. She's always there if you need help or just want to talk about things. 5 mandatory attendance days (she lets you know when), 4 exams and an optional final, homework due exam days, AND extra credit. I'm really sad the semester is over with her. Favorite professor ever!

Best professor I have taken hands down. I did not enjoy Political Science until I took her. She managed to keep me interested throughout all the lectures and looking forward to the next class. She has a nice since of humor and is great at explaining the material! If you go to class and look over the PowerPoints she provides, you will pass the tests

I loved this class. Prof D, makes everything she talks about relevant to the things that include or pertain to the students. Attendance isn't necessary but certain days are extra credit. Lectures are in power-point. Follow the review and you will be fine. Extra credit and homework are easy and per exam. Best professor at Texas State by far.

Second time taking Prof D and I didn't regret it. She truly loves what she teaches. The same criteria and grading system is for both 2310 and 2320. Your outlook about the gov't will change, I promise you. Be ready to have fun discussions in class but learn more than you ever have. Class material is pretty easy. She was a great teacher! Easy A if you try, she really puts a lot of work into her power points and making the class enjoyable. Did not have to write any essays, she does give out homework for each exam.

Her opinions and humor make her lectures engaging. On top of that, she's open to other students' opinions and makes the lectures more like group discussions rather than a regular lecture. I loved this class, so much that i still think about her lecture hall in centinial some 4 years later. The class was legit and it was during one of the most exciting times of my life which might help. She is so cool loved her class. Now I need to get back to some Fortnite

This professor was awesome. I did not do super well in the class because I was lazy and also government is not really my forte but she was great. Her notes contain everything you need to know for the exams. She is funny and helpful. Great class. I took her again for the second political science. You don't really NEED to show up but it helps.
