She's a decent mathematician, but doesn't seem to have the hang of teaching. She isn't the most helpful person ever when it comes to assignments. If you don't understand her instructions (which can be unclear), you're screwed. She doesn't understand students' questions, sometimes to the point that the student gives up and just asks another student.
Prof. Head finds ways to make subject easy to understand and additionally teaches the shortcuts for the formulas and theories. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I failed this class before and will have an 'A' this go around. I wish I had her class before. If you don;t want to work don;t take her class, but if you are willing to work and learn she is the best.
Ms.Head is amazing. She really loves teaching. Take her for STATS! There is a lot of work but she makes it not seem so much. She if very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to see you understand a concept! Would highly recommend!
Firstly, this is college precal-if you want an easy A, pick a new degree! I was afraid to take it in the summer, but was so glad I did! Mrs. Head is by far the best Math teacher at Wake Tech! If I can do good, anyone who puts an effort and does the recommended homework can do good as well! I only wish she taught my Math 172 in the fall!
I took this class in the summer. Her teaching is horrible, and her personality is worse. If your schedule doesn't work with her office hours, too bad. And if you ask her to work on a problem after class, she won't. Not good. Surprised she was rated well.
Horrible teacher! Doesn't explain things very well. She is an extremely picky grader, and she doesn't have a very nice personality either
Amazing teacher! She helps you out if you want help, and if you ask for it. Very clear and concise and fair! Highly recommended.
Very refreshing to have a math instructor with clear expectations and that provides an exceptionally clear lecture. Her grading policy is very fair, big fan of partial credit. Webassign and suggested book work is a must. Lecture covers types of problems found on test. Found her lecture invaluable.
Very knowledgeable in the subject and can easily answer all your questions. She does have somewhat an attitude and is pretty picky, but she is very helpful and will ensure you that you'll pass her class.
I thought she was very helpful. She was one of the best math teachers ive ever had.
I took her Spring 2012 class and I found her to be a great teacher. She is very clear on what you need to do, she enjoys giving partial credit, and does her best to prepare you for calculus. I received an A, and I plan on taking MAT 172 with her if possible.
Very prickly lady - rarely gives a straight answer. Not my favorite for sure.
goes too much into detail that it makes everything more confusing. took 1h40m to go through 3 problems that could have been done quickly... but she had to explain every tiny detail. LIkes it ask questions and will wait in silence for a long time to have someone answer...
Be prepared to teach yourself via the text, then she addresses questions you have...lame...if you aren't good at math and understanding textbook jargon, it can be very difficult! Never answers a question, just asks you more until you figure it out...would be helpful if she'd taught the material in the first place! Wouldn't recommend her at all!
Good mathematicion, not a great teacher. Believes in getting you to create your own understanding..ie.. slamming your head against the wall trying to figure out something for half the class til she FINALLY goes over the material. Nit picky in her wording, which would be great if we could grasp the basic concept.. which can be tricky
Terrible. I have her for an online course and she WILL NOT ANSWER SPECIFIC QUESTIONS! You'd have better luck just reading the textbook
Her homework guidelines are absurd (which seem to have a way of changing, depending on whom the rules are being applied to). She doesn't particularly seem to care to explain things without giving the impression that you're not putting forth any effort without her doing so. Her teaching has a rather demeaning tone to it.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. If you take this class be prepared to teach yourself from scratch using the textbook. The teacher has a super aggressive method of teaching...actually i can't call it a "method" its more like bashing your head with the information and expecting you to understand! tldr: do not take
My biggest problem with her is that she doesn't answer emails in a timely manner. It would be important for an online class. She is confusing and when I ask she wants me to figure out the answer by myself. With this behavior she hindered me to go further in lessons. She has many typos in her notes. Demanding teacher who doesn't care about students.
She is hard. I was so close to an A and she did not round. Doesn't care for her students. Dull personality. Even if you have the right answer on the test, she will try to find a way to make it wrong and take off as much points as she possibly can. Awful awful
HORRIBLE
Tough course material but this teacher does a good job explaining it to the students with many examples in class. Quirky sense of humor, but still hard to stay away because it is statistics. HW every night but if you do it you will be more prepared for class and not feel completely lost in the material. Over all, O.K. teacher
The lectures were very difficult. There were so many confusing formulas. The professor wasn't very helpful. It was as if we were expected to understand the information although I would ask for a better delivery. I rarely received feedback as to why my assignments weren't up to par. I was excited to take Statistics at first, but now I regret it.
I hate to give a bad rating but I did not find this teacher helpful at all. Wastes time on talking instead of showing how to do math. Will not help you understand.
Did not have time for her students outside of class. Assignments and quizzes were not returned in time to study for tests. Get used to the grading style quick or you'll keep suffering from simple mistakes. I will be avoiding her as much as possible in the future.
One word of advice: RUN!!!!!!!!! She is the worst! Does not care about students. Grading is jacked up! Very, VERY bland. She will stand up in front of the class and ask a question. If someone doesn't answer she will raise her voice and say, "Let me explain: I ask. YOU ANSWER!" ADVOID HER IF YOU CAN! I couldn't avoid her and got stuck with her. RUN!
Teacher tries to make class harder than it needs to be. But, getting an A is very possible. Review for tests on your own, because the teacher tries her best to make sure you are unprepared for certain topics.
She is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. Unfortunately I took this during the summer, she is extremely strict and doesn't have logic to students. It doesn't feel as if you are an adult in your class, you are a child and if she "says so" that's enough of a reason for her. Wish she was a little gracious or seemed like she cared. Shes demeaning
Horrible teacher!!! Run RUN RUN! She treats you like a child, and has no respect for students, or that people are taking this class because it is required, not to waste time in our schedules. Her teaching skills are poor, and she does not like to do"hard" examples. Again, RUN! And be prepared to teach yourself!
Love her! Ask questiins and you'll be fine.
She knows the material very well and is a good mathematician but teaching is not for her. She has this sort of hostility towards the class. When I was confused or asked questions she had this "why don't you know how to this?" attitude instead of just helping me to understand. It made me feel stupid so I didn't want to ask questions.
While i was in her class my dad passed away and she refused to help me make up the work. She is terrible and shes very mean and also rude. She talks down to the people in class and expects them to know everything about everything. She is not teacher material. Very impatient and inconsiderate. Not many people in the class liked her way of teaching.
She's extremely rude. She knows her math (or most of it), but it's her way or no way. If you don't know something, she'll act like it's elementary material and everyone should know it. I do not recommend her. I used to love math until I took her class.
Hands down the worst teacher i have had in my 2 semesters at Wake Tech. She was easily the most rude and apathetic human i have ever had the displeasure of calling my teacher. She refused to help me or other students in my class when we needed help. I wish i had read these reviews before i signed up before taking her class.. Absolutely terrible.
I suck at math, so this class was bound to be hard for me, but she didn't make it any easier. There's TONS of group work in this class, so if you hate working with other people, I wouldn't take this class. Her tests are nothing like the study guides and there's only 2 tests the whole semester. Answers emails quickly. Gives A LOT of labsprojects.
Absolute garbage. Worst professor I ever had. Took forever to grade every single assignment. Terrible teaching skills. Just an all around bad teacher.
This is one of two classes I am taking at Wake Tech, as I am a regular student at NCSU. She definitely knows what she is talking about, but the moment you make any comment or suggestion she gets really sour. She's very methodical but goes at a seriously slow pace (or at least enough to catch what she is saying). Class is simple but not a given A
Basic intro to stat class. It is easily passable. Go to class, ask ?'s and do the hw. Most of the work is in excel. It is a pretty painless A.
She's terrible
I hate to leave a bad review, but she is the worst teacher I have had in college. She gets frustrated easily. If you ask questions she makes you feel stupid for not knowing something that is "simple" according to her. I was .05% away from passing her class and she wouldn't bump it to a C. LOTS OF HOMEWORK! Her tests were very difficult!
Needless to say if you've read the previous reviews, Ms. Head is not the greatest professor. I took her for a 1 credit class and she made it hard. She graded every paper like an English professor and did not explain why she would take off points. I can't even imagine what her math classes are like. Her lectures are boring and she's not friendly.
She is one of the worst professors . She takes forever to grade then fails you at the end. horrific experience!! Gave me a 69.3 when I emailed her she said she couldn't discuss it until the new semester
Find another teacher if you have the chance. I had to take her for a summer class because she was the only one who taught. There are 8 mini quizzes so study the Sin, Cos, Tan, Sec, Csc, and Cot. She is not very helpful and can sometimes be mean, rude, and talks down to you. I hate to be mean, but she was not a good professor for me.
Make sure you have plenty of paper. There will e written homework, stat-lab homework, and she even checks to see if you've worked on your lab manual pages. The amount of notes taken during class is astounding, she WILL NOT slow down if you are a slow writer. If you miss a day, you will lose lot of information.
If you want to learn and fully grasp trig and have a quality learning experience with a teacher that cares for you to understand the material, THEN DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS OR GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN! If you want to jeopardize your gpa, have frequent trips to tutoring sessions, and have an extremely stressful semester, then this class is for you.
If you understand trig & are good at math, the class will not be as challenging. Be careful when you submit work b/c she is a VERY tough grader. If you suck at math, then try to find another teacher b/c her grading sucks. The week before finals she gave us two big wrkshts, a project, & a test & a lot of pop quizzes. Overall, find another teacher
I don't think that Ms. Head is mean, just particular. She runs everything through a no mistake system, if you are a second late youre 30 minutes tardy, if you miss part of a question the whole thing is wrong. I don't think she does this out of malice just out of a desire to follow the rules to the extreme, even to the extent of being unreasonable.
Ms Head is the worst!!! BEWARE!!! IN her 2 hour class, if you use the bathroom while lecture is going on, she considers you tardy. Who does that? if you are 5 seconds late from submitting an assignment, you are late. The school had general blackboard issues 4 hours before due time, and it was fixed the next day. She refused to take my work.
Awful teacher who doesnt care about the students she teaches. A nonchalant demeanor and will not match the same effort you put into the class. Grades hard even on homework and activities that are designed to get you to understand the material. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR HEAD
Worst teacher. You cannot be late or your work will not be taken even if you were a minute late. NO bathroom breaks or your late. Tests are ridiculous, takes off points for stupid reasons. Would not recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good GPA. We had over 30 students and in a week she lost about half.
Stickler for rules and correctness. Couple min late and you are marked tardy and she won't accept your work as it is considered late. Her class is slow and dry, but she does cover the material in a methodical way that makes it easy to reproduce problems. Tough group project. Turn in homework early for extra pts.
Very tough. Will lock you out of class. Group projects require a strong leader because she will not help you out on that.
If you're taking MAT 263 I would not reccomend Julia Head. Her lectures are not helpful at all, if you ask her a question, it's as if she talking down to you like you're slow. On the review day before the test she LITERALLY went over 1 problem for almost an hour 40 minutes. She's not helpful and you cant even use the bathroom. Don't take her class.
DO NOT TAKE MS HEAD. she is not a good teacher and will lock you out if you try and go to the bathroom or even leave he class. Her lectures are boring and she does not help her students at all.
I should not have taken this class. She's mean and not willing to help students.
If youre good at math, take her and youll do fine as long as youre good with lots of work outside of class. If youre not good at math dont even bother. She skips over parts when solving equations because theyre easy to her.
She could even be a 4 if you are good at math. She goes over everything in great detail and takes problems slowly. There are few times in class where you are solving problems by yourself, most the time its working through problems together. She does many things to boost grades but she is a tough grader making tests hard and she forces you to read.
I'm usually good in math but I felt uncomfortable and dumb being in her class because she doesn't give straight answers when it comes to questions, she speeds through lecture and lectures heavy. Her grading is awful and careless about students understanding of the material and concerns bring to her attention. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!
She assumes that she is "all knowing". accuses people of cheating for seemingly no reason. She accused a group of cheating on a lab when they clearly just did not understand how to do the problem because they got it wrong and used the wrong processes.
She doesnt care about her students and she is a harsh grader. Ive gotten As in every math class Ive taken and now I cant even seem to get a C
Her grading is inconsistent and EXTREMELY difficult. You WILL have 2 quizzes per week that are 3-4 questions each. The project rubrics are vague and her grading is subjective. She gives terrible feedback if she gives any at all. When the entire class raised concerns, she responded with "this is not a democracy."
Professor Head is the worst teacher to exist. She will accuse you of cheating. Take forever to grade assignments and projects, and turns out not to be lenient. She could be nice at times, but also rude and petty. Do not take her if you are trying to earn an easy A. Her instructions are never clear, and has an excuse when complaining about grades.
CHOOSE ANOTHER PROFESSOR! She is an inconsiderate teacher who does not care when her students have concerns over grades, lectures, and etc. She is a TOUGH GRADER and gives terrible feedback. When you asks question, she still doesn't even answer it. I don't know why she bothers teaching if she's not that great to begin with!!!
She's a really tough grader and does not show sympathy for her students. Her lectures are not clear as she explains math with PowerPoint and definitions, which is not helpful. She skips over steps and assumes the students already know everything, and she requires the students to read the textbook and take chapter reading quizzes, which is tedious.
I took this class in the fall of 2020 semester and withdrew because it was online. I can't attest to how the professor is in the actual classroom but I found that she graded our project ridiculously hard and even though she was available her directions were unclear about the assignments. I would not take it again with her b/c you teach yourself.
She is the worst teacher; she is so lazy and her instructions are never clear. She finds the dumbest mistakes to take points off. She always has excuses for issues, and will ignore you when someone asks a question. She also never demonstrates how to do the projects. DON'T take her; avoid her at all costs. Wait for next semeste to take a math class
I had to drop this class, it was all online due to COVID and projects were unclear and unfairly graded. Tests and Problem sets were difficult to understand if you didn't understand the content, which learning the content was difficult because her lecture videos her handwriting was not legible.
If you care about your GPA then I recommend never taking any of her courses. I'm a student that works hard and gets A's, however, Head makes it practically impossible to receive an A in her class. Her tests only have 5-8 questions and you miss one, you are down to an 80. Truly being honest and would like to save you from ruining your GPA!!
The class isn't too difficult, but the professor is. One of the things that brought a lot of students' grades down was not having the printed version their project before class. There was a printer in the classroom, so many assumed they could print it there before lecture. Upon finding no paper in the printer, she gave all those students a zero.
I enjoyed Prof. Head's class. You read the chapter and take a short 3-5 questions quiz o the reading before class. In class, we did examples on excel to better understand the material. There are 8 "mini projects" throughout the semester, but they aren't that difficult. I didn't think this class was that difficult and am hoping for an A!
There were some people in this class who struggled quite a bit, about half the class dropped at the deadline. The mini-projects we did were pretty hard to find data for and were graded pretty strictly. She didn't really provide great feedback on it either. She seems like she doesn't really care that much for her student to get A's.
She would never answer your questions during class because it disrupts other classmates trying to learn, well isnt that the point of school to learn? We had to do projects and she would take points because something wasnt creative b/c other students from last semester picked the same idea, like how would we know that??? DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
This class (MAT 152) was online. She never takes the time to help you with problems or if you have questions in class, she will skip right over your questions. Her teaching was never clear. She basically was just doing the work and wont go over it and goes way to fast. Dont take her class.
Professor Head is a tough grader. Very no nonsense. I especially disliked the mini-projects. I found those challenging to find data for. Although she kinda made my life difficult with all the assignments due, I feel like it helped me learn the material better. Especially online learning and not being a math person. Sweat and tears got me to a B.
She is the WORST professor ever. She literally does not care if you pass. Extremely lazy, unfair grading, will never respond to your emails, in fact she takes DAYS to reply. Has no sense of direction, does NOT know how to explain how to do the mini projects. ALL INSTRUCTIONS ARE VAUGE!! Save your gpa and don't take this prof.
she accuses you of cheating just because you didn't do too well in the beginning of the semester, and actually studied hard for the final. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!
I don't know how anyone could give Julia head a good rating. She is rude and doesn't care if her students do good or not. Someone couldn't pay me to take this class again. Her exams were trick questions and her mini projects were graded very harshly. Save yourself and choose another professor. More than half our class dropped or withdrew.
She is not understanding at all. Not even if we did not want to do online, and are trying our best online does she care to help her students out. She is rude and never explains in detail how to do the work. Her grading is ridiculous, she is basically setting you up to fail. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
Took one of her classes online and it was a nightmare for the first week I couldn't see any assignments on account of a random assignment hidden in a folder you had to complete before you could see the assignments, graded pretest's so if the textbook is confusing for a chapter your screwed for that week especially given there weight.
Honestly hated this class, everything was a nightmare from start to finish, especially being a hybrid class.
For the love of god, dont take this class. ever. She is the worst professor ive ever had. She assigns an insane amount of work, and she refuses to take late grades, no matter the circumstance. it doesnt matter if you are sick, a family member died, or if there was a literal house fire (she said this in the syllabus).
She is very picky on my grades
My prayers go out to the future students and victims of Julia Head.
Had to drop the class because I was going to fail for sure. Graded very heavily and did not explain the concepts very well. The ILC could teach better than she could.
I took her class only because it was in-person and I struggle with online classes. Biggest, mistake, ever. She is terrible and seeks different ways to take off points. Completely lacks understanding and shows no sympathy for genuine problems presented by students. Not helpful and class time is spent going over examples not teaching. Don't take her!
Shows no desire for her students to pass. Looks for any reasons to take off points and has absolutely no empathy for anything going on in her students live. Terrible communication and insane amount of work. Overall just a mean person. DO NOT TAKE!!
She was such a bad teacher that they inspired me to take the SAT so I can drop this class. They are REALLY harsh grader and there no communication. trust all the reviews.
The class itself isn't that difficult, but professor Head makes it harder than it should be. Her syllabus states "Even in the following circumstances, your late work is not accepted: emergencies, car accidents, fires, illnesses etc." Fires? Car accidents? REALLY? Save yourself from taking this class. I sure wish I saved myself.
never
I don't recommend it to anyone.
This lady do not respect her students and will make you struggle don't make shit easier for you. In and she do not care about you.
To begin, If Ms. Heads' lectures didn't put you to sleep, you would soon realize they aren't much of a lecture at all. All she does is go over examples without explaining how to work the problems out. All of her assignments for the week were due on Wednesday, even though we meet on Thursdays. This gave us no time to review for the many worksheets.
The only advice that I wish someone told me before taking this class is to take the math with any other professor. The worst professor ever.
Don't. Is very stern and genuinely not good at teaching. Not clear lectures and very monotone. Super vauge project instructions, I had no idea what to do. When I asked her for help she refused to explain more. It's hard material and she does not make it easy to learn. I was putting in so much effort but had to withdraw bc of her.
To start, DO NOT BECOME ANOTHER VICTIM OF JULIA HEAD! She deducted me for using "and" in an answer of modes. Parts of her late work policy is; Your late work is not accepted nor will make-up tests be allowed: technical issues with your computer loss of internet emergencies (such as car accidents, fires, etc.) illness of student or family member
Where to begin? Just don't do it. I came from UNC-Chapel Hill in hopes to pass Calculus but was in for a rude awakening named Julia. Her blackboard took 2 hours to navigate and I'm still lost. She is going to blow it up with an absurd amount of work. Refuses to change the old syllabus quiz, therefore the class failed the easiest quiz. Save yourself
This professor is extremely strict and gives absolutely no leeway. She grades on the smallest details possible and will actual talk down to you in class for asking questions! She teaches the material well but does not answer concerns in class and expects us to put all of our free time only into her class. Do not take her class if you have a life
Don't take her, take anyone else if you can. It never felt like she wanted us to succeed, she was rooting for us to fail. She answered questions condescendingly, would give 0s at every opportunity for work that WAS COMPLETED(varying reasons), she counted me tardy for being ten seconds late. TARDY IN COLLEGE!! Only STEM B I got during my associates.
Just no
Her Blackboard is so confusing to locate & this class just ain't it, don't do it to yourself
I had full confidence when I started this class that my knowledge from pre calc would help me, but I was so wrong. Whenever I asked for help, I was turned away with "I won't explain it to you, but I can give you hints". I had to get a tutor and even she couldn't save me. I wish I would've looked at her reviews on here... don't do it.
overcomplicates things for no reason at all. the worst blackboard set up I have ever seen in my life. if you take any of Julias classes be ready to start digging in files to find what you need to do. she takes off soooo much points on test!! I recommend Gustavo Sa he's a wonderful teacher and is an easy grader on test.
Save yourself the time and grade, Ms. Head is one of the rudest teachers I have ever had and doesn't seem to care if you're struggling in her class. Work is unclear and so is her entire blackboard. She doesn't teach the lessons well and you will be confused on day one. She gives an unhealthy amount of homework and written assignments.
No excuses ever, your house could burn down with your homework and you would still get a zero with no ability to redo EVER!!!
Do yourself a favor. Do not take her. I could easily write a ten paper document on how awful my time with Julia Head was. No, I am not a bitter student who dropped or failed her class (like many of her students). I am simply being transparent when I say she is a condescending elderly woman who I hope retires within the next two years. AVOID HER.
Lectures are boring/tedious, but she knows the content well and provides resources on blackboard to help. Extremely picky grader and NO late work is accepted which is stressful, but don't know how I would pass if I didn't have these hard deadlines to follow. Wouldn't take her again, but this class is definitely passable if you put in the effort.
If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself as a student of Julia Head, make sure you complete all of her work before tending to emergency situations such as car accidents, house fires, or family emergencies. Evidently her class is much more important than your life. Seriously, stay far, far away from Julia Head.
Worst professor I've ever had. Her lectures are literally just doing examples of the same topics, rather than actually teaching the fundamentals of calculus and how to apply it. Insane amount of homework, typically a 3 page problem set and 7 page lab WEEKLY. Tests sucked. Got points taken off once because my course code got cut off on a scanner.
Julia is single-handedly the worst professor I have ever had. She reminds me more of a bad high school teacher than a college professor, with no extensions, extra credit, or late assignments. Late by 10 seconds is tardy. I do like Math, but I need someone who can teach me, not show me examples. Honestly, I completely agree with the other reviews.
SHE DOES NOTTTTT CARE ABOUT ANY STUDENTS! Rude, hard to work with, extremely strict, a ton of work and doesn't explain anything.
prob not, but hope it goes well if you do try it.
Although she understands the topic at hand, she does not care if the students do. I once asked for clarification on a subject and she did not answer and instead mocked me passive-aggressively. Her lectures are like trying to describe someone the color red without just showing it to them. The topics are simple and intuitive, but not in her class.
I was only in her class for two weeks, and I can't stress this enough. DO NOT TAKE. It doesn't matter what section you're in. MAT152 is an easy class. The coursework isn't the problem, but she is. Blackboard is nearly impossible to navigate. She's not willing to help and doesn't care for her students. You will succeed with literally anyone else.
do not recommend at all. avoid taking her at all costs. grading is extremely strict.
Material is technically easy but there are so many assignments and the lecturer is a too picky grader almost pedantic. Despite that Blackboard is difficult to navigate and the online material is vague and sloppily written, which sucks since it is a hybrid course. Feels like you are studying how the professor grades more than the course material.
Avoid taking this professor if possible. Her lectures are dull, and she has unreasonable grading policies with no late work allowed. However, using Unstuck ai alongside the textbook can help you manage the heavy workload and pass the course.
Definitely worst teacher have ever taken! I wish I had read the review before taking a class with this teacher, she doesn't answer questions doesn't help out and her grading is the worst have ever gotten, she grades harshly and horrible she must want me to fail the class this semester and no late work either avoid taking her class at all cost.
do not take this class, shes very picky with grading papers and will take off a quarter of a point on questions that you could even get a correct answer on. She isnt helpful whatsoever.
Doesn't know how to teach
Worst instructor I've every had. The only class where I can get all the answers right on an exam and still come out with a B. I've never taken a math class where I get points off because I didn't have proper decimal placement, and I don't mean the in the answer, I talking about in the work. The course is easy, but she makes it impossible for an A.
Wow....Like where do I start. Probably one THE worst professors I've had in a while. Absolutely does NOT care about her students. Locks the door so that students can't get in if they are late, which distracts the class since someone had to open the door. Unfair grader. Very dry during office hours. Doesnt have Proper notes. Leaves out material.
Guidelines unclear. I enrolled late and missed a couple of assignments since I didnt know that were assigned and she did not let me make them up despite her not communicating that with me. She kept saying that he follows the rules but not everyone is perfect. Especially in an advanced math course. Never argued with her but she was very harsh to me.
She was a wonderful teacher, took STATS with her after dropping out of a stats course before and she made the material seem so easy to understand, she loves teaching and if you pay attention in class you will 100% understand. Tough grader but she is very clear with her expectations, as long as you follow them you'll be good
Julia does not want you to succeed. She mentioned how she grew up with two professors for parents. But for whatever reason, she can't teach. Her lectures present confusing math problems that are hard to follow if you have not taken the material in a previous course. DO NOT TAKE IT. I don't know if it's possible to earn an A in this course.
I am convinced she hates her job. If she really wanted students to learn, she would've structured her class much differently. What an unhappy person and shrewd individual. I doubt much gives her joy, besides the torment of her students. I was the person who thought oh well I really need this credit I can power through. Boy, did Julia prove me wrong.
God forbid you are hospitalized for a week, and you can't make up any assignments or labs and I'm kicked out of the class without a heads up. 0/10. never take her class ever.
If you have any other option take it. I have never gotten below a B- on any math ever and this class was the death of me. She teaches you things that will never be on the test. I don't know if I can even classify it as teaching. Nobody in the entire class has an A or B she is the worst teacher ever and does not care about students at all.
Worst professor I've had and I've transferred from multiple public universities.. She feeds off tormenting her students by embarrassing them. Monotone and makes you feel stupid during lecture. WTCC needs to fire her. ASAP. She's like if Mr Krocker was a real person. Went from 30 to 12 students. Racist.
DO NOT TAKE THIS. You will not know your grade until the end of the course. She gives you a grade calculator and you basically have to guess your grade in the class. Good luck.
