At first she is all over the place, and doesnt always explain things well she is nice and really knows her stuff but she is not very good at teaching it, her test are hard and you have to esplain everything no multiple choice here
Nice teacher BUT hope you are already a genius at physiology before you take this class because that's how she expects you to be. Teaches the class as if everyone is just doing a refresher of material they should already know. I would not recommend taking this class to anyone! Tests are extremely hard, mostly recall from memory not multiple choice.
She is a great professor. I had her for Anatomy II Lab. She knows her stuff and she will go out of her way to help you. I enjoyed her class and she made hard material easy to learn. I would take her again in a heartbeat and I wish I knew about her when I was taking Anatomy I. I highly recommend her.
She was awful in my opinion. Half the time she didnt know what each body part was called she had to double check her answers and ask us if its right, like we da teacher. She suppose to be teaching us. Bad Bad Bad
I took Dr. Steiner for A&P II Lab and it was amazing. She is very helpful and knows her stuff. She makes hard things easy to learn. You do have to come to class though. She is more than willing to help you but you have to ask. I would HIGHLY recommend taking her this is my second time taking her & if she was teaching other classes I would take her.
SUPER helpful teacher! if you have any questions she always has time after class. She puts things in terms you can understand and doesn't rush. This class (2085L) is all about memorization anyway, the A&P website is what will get you an A in the class not so much the teacher but I'm telling you this lady is great I ended up with a 101% in the class
Mrs Steiner is a little spacey at times, but is overall she knows what she is talking about and is extremely helpful! Tests are not too hard, but you MUST prepare yourself to do well on them. You have 12 in class pop-quizzes, which she lets you do in groups. She drops four quizes and one test at the end of the semester which is extremely helpful!
This professor is very helpful. The material and testing methods are very different than your norm class. Be prepared to study a lot. Mrs. Stiener is always willing to stop and explain anything you have questions about. She is one of the few professors that care and want you to be successful in life. She's a gem for TCC.
This woman is a fabulous teacher. She explains things VERY well and is always willing to answer a question both during and after class. You will do great on the quizzes and tests if you GO to class and do the study guides that she gives you. This class does need studying, but if you GO to class you get great notes because of how well she explains.
Wonderful professor. You do need to go to class if you want to survive in this class. You need to study. No going around it. But, she explains things very well and gives study guides for every exam, so studying isn't that huge of a pain. She's also very helpful...I've gone to see her in the learning commons and she's reviewed everything with me.
She is a really good teacher. She is clear with her directions and expectations. If you study from the tcc a&p website you will be fine. She also gives extra credit on quizzes and practicals. It's a lot of material to memorize so you must study. Mrs. Steiner is always willing to help.
Dr. Steiner is a wonderful professor. I finally grasped AP because of her great clarity. She's so helpful and always willing to explain something a different way so you can grasp the concept. This is a hard class, studying and going to class is a must. However she offers many assignments and some extra credit. Finally I get AP!!!
I had Dr. Steiner for AP 1 lab and she was very clear about what was on test and went over it very well, she is a very good teacher. The material itself was very simple I got a 101% in the class
A great teacher!those who left poor comments were lazy and did not attend class. yes, attending class is mandatory as cellar respiration and the like is not common sense. lectures are clear, gives extra credit on all exams, and always reviews the material before the tests. the test are not easy but are fair.the test comes form lectures and not book
She's a scatter-brain, but the class is pretty straight forward and relatively easy. There's a lot of memorization and you definitely have to study.
She is a total scatter brain. She's all over the place when teaching.
She is very nice and is really clear about what she wants from you, but at the same time she is so scatterbrained sometimes her clicker-questions that she uses as quiz credit will leave you thinking 'I swear we didn't go over this in class.' She teaches like you should know everything already.
She is extremely unorganized. If it is difficult for you to listen and pay attention DO NOT TAKE HER!!! Every lecture I left feeling more confused. She never had any lectures planned so at the end of the semester we crammed in 3 important subjects and it was an overload of information. Plus we didn't have time for learning the reproductive system..
Dr.Steiner is the best! Took her for lecture A&P 1..She is willing to help you out with anything you might not understand. The class is hard but you just have to study!! She drops the lowest test grade so thats good. Overall im taking her again!
Dr. Steiner is great! She is very helpful and has lots of office hours if you need extra help. She uses clickers with her lectures so it's important to go to class to get those points. This is a tough class but I would recommend her to anyone taking BSC2085
Good teacher overall just very fast paced. DOES NOT ROUND even if you have a 69 % so I would suggest doing extra credit and going to every review and class.
BSC 2085 Summer 2010;3 tests including final; every class is a lecture; study hard and you'll be fine!
TERRIBLE!! take my advice and save yourself from failing/withdrawing from a class. she has to look back in the book to know what body parts are named yet expects us to know all of them right away. very fast paced. no rounding/dropping lowest grade. there is either a quiz or a test every week.
Attendance is mandatory, yet she doesn't teach in the lab, just lets you look at models on your own for two hours and occasionally walks around. The class is purely memorization on a lot.Takes off for spelling and all tests are fill in the blank, which is highly hypocritical since she cannot spell or name things herself. DON'T buy book, never used.
She is a great teacher. All my test grade are over 100%
Her class attendance is mandatory, but all she does is read from the book and have you study on your own during class hours. Her quiz study guides are very helpful, and her practical reviews are worth it. She can be very disorganized, but all in all she is a good teacher.
For BSC2085, she's fine. But in BSC2086 it has been a train wreak. I've kept my A so far but its been a fight. Her study guides are helpful but her lectures have been getting more and more disorganized towards the end of the semester. Keep ALL of your study guides for the final. I don't recommend her for BSC2086.
Not terribly hard, and it is extremely helpful if you attend class. She sometimes gives extra credit for attending, along with graded clicker questions. Tests can be difficult but with a little amount of studying you will be fine
She is a great teacher, and she keeps the class interesting. I attended class and payed attention, so I only had to study for a few minutes to make As on all of the tests. Ask questions!
She is a very organized teacher. From day one you know what will be on all 4 exams and practicals, however the work load is ridiculous for a 1 credit class.
DR. Steiner is actually a pretty good teacher. Just pay attention. Ask questions also. She gives out homework and extra credit which will help your grade out a lot. Do not skip recitation all the time it helps. She will help you if you need help.
Dr. Steiner is a great professor! She has a passion for science and it's very clear by how she teaches. There aren't "dumb questions" in her class and she does her best to make the information interesting. She's doesn't try to trick students but she doesn't spoon feed you either. Pay attention to what she emphasizes and not the study guide.
Dr. Steiner is a great person with a great personality, however when it comes to taking her class I would not recommend her as a first choice! VERY hard on grading hw. Not specific on what to study for exams. First C I've gotten in the 3 semesters I've been at TCC! Confusing! Wish I would have REALLY paid attention to these reviews before taking!!!
Second time taking Dr. Steiner and she's just a fantastic teacher! She's clear about what's on the test and what's important to know in general. She's always available to help her students and is all around a great professor! Would recommend her to anyone!
Dr. Steiner was an excellent professor. She does assign a good deal of homework which was a good way to make sure that we understood the material. She always gave good comments that helped me to understand anything that was missed. Her office is always opened to her students because she is very interested in their success. Highly recommend!
Nice lady, but would not recommend. Often she tells you wrong info and then realizes it later on, goes back and changes it. I get A's on all the homework/assignments that are online and understand the materials, but her teaching is VERY broad for the very specific questions she asks on the test. First C I've gotten at TCC.
Dr. Steiner is very clear and wants all of her students to do well. There are weekly homework assignments that are due on Friday nights online. She posts her study guides at least a week in advance for the tests and the tests are really easy if you take the time to study! Don't miss class b/c she does clicker questions for credit. EASY if you try!!
i took professor steiner for my anatomy and physiology lab class and was struggling in her class at first, but she is willing to work with you and help! best teacher ive had as far as caring for students. also she tells you exactly what will be on your quiz and tests.
Dr. Steiner is fantastic! I took her for 2085 and 2086 and got A's in both semesters. She's not an easy A but you know you've earned whatever grade you receive and will walk away with a good amount of information. I would take her for every class if I could!
I would never take her again. A lot of trick test questions. Tests don't match what she teaches but she's a nice person a funny.
Doesn't really have it together, lectures are slow and hard to follow. Very tough grader, on homework especially. Doesn't break down the material for easier comprehension. I would not recommend her.
Okay. You can't even really hear her because her voice is so quit. Everything you go over in class will most likely not be on the test. Everything on the study guide is not on the test. On the bright side she is a nice lady who gives little homework but I would not take again.
Perfect teacher for BSC2085 and soon going to take her for BSC2086 and the lab. She makes sure the student understand the material by doing clicker questions during class and explains why certain answers are wrong. She very willing to help students but you also have to put time and effort into the class. It's no easy A.
One of my favorite professors. Her absolute goal is to help her students understand the material. She gives study guides & several assignments that are charts/images for each unit and you will ALWAYS see one on the test. Any bsc2086 is going to be mandatory if you plan on getting an A or B.
Love her. She tells you EXACTLY what to expect on the practicals, and it is. If you study the material given, you will get an A. She doesn't tell you to memorize things you don't need. She is very kind and sometimes funny. She will learn your name and make you feel important. I had to take her for both semesters because of how amazing she is.
Overall just a fabulous professor!
Hard grader on TEST and homework she will take off for anything!! You use a EBOOK so it's online! You will learn but you can not miss a class. Classes are recorded so you can go home and review. STUDY STUDY and go over the handouts that's given you WILL see it again on the test! Print power points before class to use while she teaches..
I didn't make an A in her Lab or lecture, BUT I HAVE LEARNED and GAINED SO much from Dr. Steiner. This is A&P it isn't supposed to be a piece of cake.. She does more than just lecture all day. Practicing what you have learned goes a long way and she will go out of her way without hesitation to help you in any way she can. She makes learning fun!
BEST TEACHER EVER!!!
Dr. Steiner's Anatomy II class was far easier than my Anatomy I class. Her lectures and worksheet we do in class are pretty much the tests, and she puts practice questions online with the textbook that are also word for word on the test most of the time. If you just go to class and pay attention you'll do perfectly fine. offers some extra credit.
Terrible. Lecture heavy and expects you to know things that is impossible. Tests are nothing like the reviews, more like the clicker questions. do not take if you want to pass. Nice lady though.
Dr. Steiner is an amazing teacher. She is always looking for new ways to keep the class interesting. Go to class, participate, and she will help you get where you need to go. Her expectations are clear and her exams are spelled out in the study guide. She is also able to admit when she makes a mistake and is quick to correct it. Take her!!
Tough but fair make sure you're I'm class everyday. She gives credits with clicker questions. Uses diagrams that will be on test multiple parts of the test. Be ready for a challenge
Lots of group or partner projects. Homework is online from an access code, easy to complete and get an A on. Class covers basic bio topics which shouldn't be difficult. Has study guide and offers extra credit if you attend review day before the test.
Mrs. Steiner does not compliment this course at all. She is always unsure of how to answer questions and always refers to her note packet instead of her own knowledge. If you actually want to learn something and have a career in med, don't take her class.I finished w/ an A in my lab class because my teacher(Mrs. Faircloth) helps students understand
She is a horrible professor. Does not know how to teach. She cant even answer questions we ask. She doesnt know what she is doing. I heard she was bad but I took her class cuz she was the last spot left. I left her class confused. Also she is so disorganized on canvas I can never finds the stuff she uploadd
After having a bad time in anatomy 1 ms steiners class was a better experience she provides clear lecture and focuses on the important stuff and not unneccesary material there is hw but it is never too hard and she does for credit clicker qs in class which are generally the harder qs on the exams and they prep you well for the test
Teaches ok but sometimes is hard to follow I dont know if this class is just hard or the way she explains is bad theres is also WAY to much information on the exams especially the midterm and final WOULD NOT TAKE AGAIN
Take Steiner! As long as you go to class, turn in the homework and do the test reviews- you will pass the class. She's a really great teacher. She does lecture a bit long, but it's all important information. I would totally take her again.
I took Dr. Steiner for BSC2085 and BSC2086. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to finish the class feeling like they learned something. If you do take her make sure you print off her power point notes as a guideline or her lectures may seem all over the place. The class is fast paced, but if you are struggling go to office hours for help.
I love Dr. Steiner! She is tough, but fair! I left the course feeling like I actually learned something about A&P. Just show up for class, participate with clicker questions, complete study guides, study, read chapters before class, and go to office hours if you don't understand the material. She cares about her students and she is very nice!
Dr. Steiner is a great professor, she does a great job teaching the material. This is a tough class, and you will need to show up, take notes, and study hard! I took this in the summer, and missing just one class would leave you lost. She covers a lot of material in a short time period. Turn your phone off, and don't talk during class!
Unclear on specific study material. Grades for accuracy AND spelling. Tests are mostly fill in the blank, with a few matching questions at the end. When asked about the material, she responded with short, or one word answers. Didnt seem to care at all.
Anatomy isnt an easy class to begin with. Taking her made it very enjoyable, enough to make me wait to take anatomy 2 until summer just so I can have her again. She records every lecture so you can look back on it to study or if you missed a class, which was awesome. Amazing teacher!
Steiner is awesome. You only have to study her PowerPoint slides... dont even read the book. She also makes specific study guides for her tests. She is boring but she knows what shes talking about and is always willing to help.
Words cant describe the Gem Prof Steiner is. YES BSC is challenging but she herself is NOT tough, she is FAIR. You get what you put in. Study for an A and you'll get an A. Study for a C and you'll get a C. I would focus solely on the images she provides. They are easier to study. Also Go over the study guides as she updates them. must spell correct
Dr Steiner is the BEST! As someone who is not great at sciences, she has really helped me excel in this course. I am definitely taking her for anatomy 2!
This is the best professor for anatomy and physiology at TCC in my opinion! She is very helpful, respectful, and an overall amazing professor.
Dr. Steiner is a great professor! You can tell she really loves teaching! Dr. Steiner makes the class easy! She makes hard topics crystal clear! Make sure you show up to class though or youre going to miss something important!
Dr. Steiner was really nice and cared about A&P. She gives homework that you can do in class and does clicker questions for grades. You definitely have to work for your grade plus this is a tough course. I wish her study guides were not so broad and more to what we need to know for the test because there is a lot of material covered in class.
Ms. Steiner is great! She's super quick at responding back to emails and does everything she can to help her students truly succeed. There's a fair amount of reading (in this case, online reading), but if you study and come prepared to exams you'll be just fine. All the other assignments have the potential to be easy A's, too.
Love that she gives out the filled out study guides and the videos linked on canvas, this made the tests easier. Didn't need a textbook because we had LRNR for free to do assignments through.
Professor Steiner is a nice & sweet person but she seems flustered at times. The class consist of 3 Exams, Final, Written & Connect Homeworks. Her exams are structured Multiple Choice & Short Response But Dont Fear That She Gives You All You Need During Lecture Time ... Not The Answers But Your Notes Alone Will Help A Lot
Even though this class is on Canvas all of the work (excluding exams) was on another program called LRNR. The class was taught out of the textbook so, as long as you read the textbook and put in the effort you will pass.
Overall, a doable class but there are differently better professors out there. I mostly learned from youtube and other online resources. The way she explains topics is very confusing and unclear. I had to mostly had to teach myself the material on my own.
Professor likes to ask generalized, broad questions but wants specific, cookiecutter answers. If think outside the box, this is not the professor for you. The upside of this class is if you can vomit out rudimentary information, you're in the clear. But don't put forth ANY extra effort - it is wasted on this professor and will only frustrate you.
I had her for A&P 1 and 2, wouldn't be in nursing school without her and my classmates say the same. All you have to do is print powerpoints, write down everything she says and study word for word. Theres no guessing on the tests if its on there she has given you the information. She has recorded lectures, and gets you ready for harder classes
If you want an A in that class and don't already have knowledge in anatomy before taking, you will need to show up to every class and take all her notes. Attendance is also heavily graded and she is not very understanding. Her study guides don't accurately show what would be on tests either. If you will be missing alot of class, do not take her.
This lady was sent by god himself. Choose her course, you definitely wont regret it. I took her online. However, Ill be in her physical class for A&P 2. Hope all goes well
She may be intimidating, but she's a great prof! Just show up to every class, take notes, go to review sessions, and you'll make an A on every exam. Clicker questions are asked (for credit) every class period, and the same questions are sometimes on the test, word for word. She has tons of resources on canvas. If you show up and study, you're good.
She was amazing for A&P1! Her lectures were clear and helpful. Her exams were straight from the lecture notes, and she did poll questions during class that would appear on tests too. The class was easy as long as you took notes and put in a little effort.
I have a love hate relationship with Dr. Steiner. This woman is a GOOD professor and will allow you to leave the class fully understanding all the concepts but DANG she makes you work for it! Her exams are hard applied concepts and if you do not study, I promise you will do bad! Her lectures are boring but they are educational. Overall solid choice
Dr. Steiners class was not easy by any means, she definitely makes you work for the grade. Her lectures are very, very thorough. She is very straight forward with whats to be expected on exams. Theres a lot of homework and her lectures are heavy, but overall I found it to be more helpful.
Shes really really tough, and you really want to study. If you dont study you wont pass. You will definitely need extra help outside of her lectures
Great professor If you need help with anatomy and physiology this is the profession to choose you watch the lecture videos she do a review on them and give clicker questions then group work also lrned online work but not to many of those just before an exam I recommend her and her exam are not to bad you have plenty of time to prepare
She posts 30 photo slides per test you have to memorize . Wouldve been nice to have some lectures posted for us. She was often rude and even said "Please do not email me asking for a grade change, extra credit or make ups, such emails will be ignored." I thought that was funny but I dislike discouraging teachers. I work better with positive ones.
If you're looking for someone to take online this is it! I liked her class because of the lecture videos. You can watch them as many times as you want and she provides you with the slides that she talks about. She's a tough grader and the exams aren't much of what she covers in class because they're so specific but you can do it if you try!
Honestly, Steiner is a great professor she has lecture videos to watch before class which really helped me understand the material. Her tests were open note which seems great until you actually take one!! they're stupid hard and not once did I make an A in her tests. She has a few homework assignments and does group work which helps your grades.
THE WORST. Super hard tests, doesn't communicate effectively at all especially during pandemic. take someone else if you can.
I took the class online. It is pretty straightforward. There are 4 practical exams which seems a lot because you have to memorize everything, but she gives you an outline. As long as you follow the outline, you should be good. The TA sent out practice practical before each one, there are very helpful. Lots of extra credits. A solid choice.
The Dec. 2021 was obviously fabricated. There are no study guides, NO TA to assist & pay for review sheets. She only reads slides. There is NO SUCH labs & no real instruction. More than half have already dropped this class. There were only FOUR Test. No homework/quizzes/classwork or attendance credit. 1st test - class averaged in 50's. One was 6%.
Had Steiner right when COVID hit and before we left for zoom, in person it was rough for me. The class was 1hr 15min and her accent just made me zone out. Definitely hard material.
Final exam content did not reflect course content. The median final exam grade was a 55.
The exams never relates her study guides or what you may have studied.
Wouldn't recommend this because her exams don't correlate with what is taught in the lecture or lecture videos you would only have an idea but she wants very specific answers. Her exams are going to make or break your grade not a lot of assignments that will help your grade she just provides exams and lectures.
Would not advise taking her she only gives exams and group work there is nothing that will help your grade. Your grade will be based on what you make on her exams. Her exams do not match up with what is being taught and her study guide or reviews does not have anything to do with exams some do good some do not so good take her at your own risk.
Do not take her online class, she is a tough grader, and all her test exams are honor lock
Exams do not correlate with any of her lecture notes or exam study guides. If you are taking a lab class along with this class this class does not match up what you are taking in the Lab when it should. Really exam heavy and on honorlock. I do not recommend taking her class unless you for some reason want this type of challenge.
Dr. Steiner is good. There are only 4 exams so you have to study really hard to get an A. However, she tells you everything that is on the test. So it is a matter of can you retain the information. She did offer a litte bit of extra credit which helps. This is not an easy class, but Dr. Steiner did not make it tough so I recommend her.
Her exam study guides, lectures, and videos do not go along with the very hard tests, and she uses honor lock. I hate her assertion/reason questions, they are hard and there was so many on every test.
Do not take this class if you value your gpa. The tests and study guide material do not match up which makes it impossible to feel ready for a test. The 4 tests are also the bulk of your grade. Even if you get a 100 on every homework assignment if u fail a test you fail the class. I wish I had dropped it when I had the chance.
Professor Steiner is terrible. Lectures are awful. You miss what is said when she walks away from the recording device. Study guides DO NOT prepare you for the test. I took A&P to learn about the body, not the cell. I'm halfway into the semester, and the only thing about the body we've covered is the body systems, and that was in the first week.
Dr Steiner is an excellent professor. She gives out Need To Know Sheets and each test is on the appropriate material. Research throughout the semester is necessary in order to determine exactly what information is required for study. When in doubt - ASK - she answers quickly and thoroughly. She is fair and requires that students learn the material.
She makes the material very clear to understand during lecture and is very helpful when needing clarity . Overall great professor and notes were able to be used on exams which was also pretty helpful .
Professor Steiner was a good instructor. She always provided a "Need To Know Sheet" when it comes to preparing for practicals, and they're pretty easy as long as you study what's in the sheet. She also provides extra credit assignments to help students boost their grades.
Professor Steiner was and is a great teacher; her lecture videos have everything you need to know for her tests. Someone mentioned that you will fail the course if you fail a test but get a 100 on every assignment. This is simply not true. Her lecture videos are key as they have all the information needed for exams
Overall really great, but it was heavier on physiology rather than anatomy. 4 exams, all are honorlocked but you are allowed 1 piece of paper. The lectures were amazing. However, the study guides were difficult because some of the material listed on them wasn't on the exams. I would definitely take this class again if I had a choice though.
Awesome Professor! Very knowledgeable on the topic and very clear grading. Her exams were online no honorlock so that was nice to have the ability to use notes. She made a hard course very easy!
This class DOES use honor lock... don't take this for your first ever anatomy class unless you know your stuff, I should have dropped this class. she gives great study guides for the exam but they have nothing to do with the exam. long homework assignments but they are a completion grade.
This class uses honor lock, but she does allow one sheet of paper on the test for notes, but the study materials provided are absolutely terrible and don't match the tests whatsoever. Use the checkpoints in-between videos as your notes for the test and as long as you don't miss anything on notes you should get C's. Good luck is all I have to say.
For written exams they are worded extremely confusing and if you ask her questions on them, she does not give a clear answer and makes it seem like she doesn't know how to answer the questions either. The class was very lecture heavy, wouldn't recommend skipping class. She can be unclear about what she is expecting on assignments.
Professor Steiner's lectures are not the best, and she rarely covers stuff that will be on the exam in the lecture. Professor Steiner's exam study guides are nothing like the exam, and she is a very picky grader for the written portion of the exam. She does drop the four lowest grades, which did help my grade tremendously (not exam grades)
I took her online as my first anatomy class and she does a great job. I never studied the book because she provided lecture videos and those were more helpful than the book. I never used the study guides because the exam covered things that weren't even on there. I never met her in real life though, so I don't know about her personality.
Test are 90% vs 10% homework which is alot good luck.
If you are going to take her be prepared to have to teach yourself a lot of the material. I am taking the class online, she does not provide pall the needed material for the exam on the videos. I catch myself having to google half of the answers to get a better understanding of the concepts.
I took this professor for Anatomy and Phisiology 1 in person. Her lectures are long but she lets us take a break in between and she includes interactive optional papers to make the class more interesting. All the work is online even the tests and they are not honorlocked. She is a very sweet and caring professor.
-Get ready to teach the majority of the class yourself. -Don't take this class if you just have basic knowledge of biology because she briefly teaches her lessons. -Her teaching style is not very organized. -Her lectures barely cover tests. -Study guides were helpless.
Professor Steiner's anatomy class is challenging but manageable. The exams are tough but the lecture videos are very helpful. Definitely use Unstuck AI along with the study guides to ace this course.
I like her as a person, however I feel as if she isnt the best teacher. It is possible to teach yourself this matteria, just takes time. Her grading scale is 50% assignments and 50% test so if you just do the assignemnts and get a 100 on all of them and a 60 on every test and still get off with a B. She dosent use -, the grades are C, C+, B, B+, A.
Lots of lectures not useful at all. Lectures do not relate to tests and are very unstructured. All over the place. Lots of homework that is just busy work, confusing, and not helpful. She is very nice overall but not a great teacher. Also had very bad TA not helpful at all. Tests are very hard and she does not give them back.
