I have taken this professor for drugs and the brain, history&systems, and learning. I earned an A in all of those classes by reading the book and coming to lecture. You need to take notes while reading and take notes in every lecture, anything is game for his exams. He will not omit material because it is difficult. Extra credit is in every exam.

As long as you read the textbook you will get good grades. But you have to make sure you really read it like every single detail. Lectures are PAINFULLY boring. He had to cancel class for 2 days in a row so last week we had quizzes on monday AND wednesday and then an exam on Friday which sucked. I don't think he actually enjoys teaching this class

This class definitely seems tough at first if you are someone who never does the textbook readings. Once you take the first test it is a wakeup call and when you start readind the chapters it helps a whole lot. Lectures are interesting and help to connect the readings to real life examples.

I thought I was never going to pass this class. Dr. Azorlosa comes across as arrogant sometimes and be can be really intimidating. He does talk down to his students and there were times where he made me feel like an idiot. He's so insanely smart but he wasn't an effective teacher. I wouldn't take him again, but I have a lot of respect for him.

Dr. Az is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. At first he comes off arrogant and snarky, but it's actually part of his charm. He is an expert in his field and will teach those who want to learn. The majority of his lectures kept me interested and clarified the textbook content. You will have to study hard to do well on the tests.

Before I took any classes with Dr. Azorlosa all I'd heard was that he was difficult. I took 268 and 246 with him and I loved both classes. Just be ready to do all of the necessary reading before each class and pay attention/take notes while you're in class. There will be material in the exams he won't cover in much detail that was in the text.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - doesn't care about the students, very short, not helpful at all, rude, doesn't use d2l, expects you to teach yourself. Absolutely the WORST prof I've ever had. His tests are impossible and he always seems bothered by you if you ask questions. Seriously, everything you'll read on here is accurate - do not take him.

Don't do it! First and only C I EVER got in college. His tests are extremely detailed and difficult. Your grade is based only on the tests and a few quizzes. He doesn't do slides or notes or study guides. His syllabus and grading criteria are very clear, to be fair, but that won't help you much. Half the class dropped. Would not recommend.

Attendance isn't mandatory, although he passes an attendence sheet. Lectures are literally a joke. He expects you to teach yourself the textbook. He doesn't use D2L, powerpoints anything to help you understand the material better. The textbook is difficult to comprehend and when you ask questions he says, "it's in the book." DO NOT take HIM!

Come to class prepared, ask questions when you are confused, and show him respect. If you can pull those three things off, you will thrive and take away a TON of useful and applicable information from this guy. He is a knowledgeable and excellent professor with great value if you actually want to learn something. Favorite professor I've had.

I never go on here and comment but I am commenting for the WCU students, especially my fellow Psych majors. DO NOT DO IT TO YOURSELF. If you are like me and are a visual learner, you will suffer. There are no powerpoints, no notes and no D2L. He's very intelligent, but it's all on you.

I was very interested in pursing a psychology minor, but after having this course for half the semester I decided to withdraw and drop the minor. I have never had a professor who tells you to go in the book for answers when you ask for help. He provides 0 feedback and barely lectures. Do yourself a favor and avoid him.

Very knowledgeable man, but his lectures (very short) and information in the textbook are not what are on his tests?? AKA tests are near impossible, even after reading the book thoroughly and my classes' average on each test was usually 50%. Take that as you will.

He reads directly from his notes and provides no slides. The tests and quizzes are based on info from lectures and the textbook. You cover about 2 super dense chapters per week. It's a lot of information . Quizzes are easy, you only have to answer half of the questons. Take advantage of the extra credit but the class is overwhelming

Reads of his own notes with no lecture slides or notes on D2L to go off of. There is a quiz around 1-2 times a week and he skims through an entire chapter every class. If you read over the textbook chapters outside of class and take notes with the reading you should do fine on the quizzes/tests. It's a lot of do-it-yourself work.
