Mr. Cheney was an excellent teacher. He was always prepared and enthusiastic. He kindof reminded me of Mr.Rogers on amphetamines. If you put in the effort, you'll make a good grade in his class.

Professor Cheney is, by far, one of the best English teachers I have ever have. He is a fair, unbiased grader and gives very clear, consise directions. A little effort goes a long way in his class.

He was very know-it-all, he is right not the books. He will not listen to you when you question his grading and his grading is inconsistent. He is a good teacher but unclear in what he wants, plus he has strange rules for papers. He is very hyper and long winded, but funny. the assignments are interesting

Professor Cheney is quite an expert on research papers. Though he has own rules for grading, he's always lending help when you need it. Most of his quizzes and exams are easy because they focus on grammer and his research paper rules. He might be a hyper professor, but he will make writing a research paper a breezer!

Found Mr. Cheney surprisingly entertaining as well as informative in this class. The class was hard work, but I learned much from him. I think those that don't like Mr. Cheney either don't do the work or they won't do the work required. If you ask for help, he is more than willing to give it to you. I would absolutely take him again

He is a indoctrinator not an educator!!!! But his test are really easy. Take him if you can deal with an idiot. Do your work and you wont fair badly.

HE BABBLES ON ABOUT BILLY O'REILLY EVER CLASS YOU COME TO. THE ESSAY TOPICS ARE DUMP AND HE GRADES ON EVERY LITTLE THING. BUT HIS TESTS ARE VERY EASY. ATTENDING CLASS ISNT MANDATORY BUT HE DOES START TAKING POINTS OFF YOUR GRADE FOR BEING LATE AND NOT ATTENDING.

Pretty nice guy. A little stuck in his ways, but he definitely knows his stuff. If you have trouble with grammar and sentence structure, take his class. He'll set your straight VERY quickly.

Too picky

I know a lot of people don't like him...and I can understand why. He is very, picky. But, he is also very clear in what he wants and he practically spells it out word for word which made this class super easy. I hate Composition more than anything cause I can't write papers for the life of me. But, since he was so particular it easy! Got a A+

I love this professor! I thought Comp would be so-so, but it's one of my favorites now. He's not easy and won't let you slack off, but he's extremely fair and interesting. If you need to solidify your grammar foundation or learn skills to make killer college research papers, this is the class for you.

Professor Cheney is definitely entertaining. He grades essays based on his own opinion. But as a creative writer, I learned a lot about technical writing! Good class but glad it will be over soon!

Mr. Cheney's class was fairly easy. His tests are VERY simple. The papers have more than one grade so you have to put your time into them. But, he tells you exactly what he wants the papers to look and sound like (I highly suggest using the thesaurus). Make sure you know you're grammer and you do what he tells you to and you should get an A.

I love Professor Cheney! He's a very funny guy. His quizzes are super easy and he hands out loads of extra credit. His essays are difficult because he grades content very highly, but there are many grades to each essay so it's not bad. He tells you exactly what he wants in the paper, so you don't have to do much thinking. I highly recommend him!

Professor Cheney pretty much tells you exactly what to write, you just have to fill in your own words. He makes it so easy for you to get an A, and he is really available for you 24/7 if you need help. You just have to deal with his old man stories, but hes great!

Once I adjusted to his teaching style and after a couple papers I began to enjoy the class. He's very specific in how he wants papers to be written. This is not an easy class but it made me a better writer! I think he's hilarious with interesting perspectives, as well as a great teacher.

My favorite teacher! If you don?t know who Bill O?Riley is, you will. Highly recommend this class. You?ll have to work for your grade, but its worth it.

The best way I can describe Cheney's class was it was hard as hell but you WILL learn how to write a research paper. That's just the truth of the matter. However, he is not the friendliest professor. He'll gladly help you if you send him an email or talk to him after class, but he won't wave to you in the hallways. He's kind of a jerk.

Not the most interesting or exciting professor, but his class will make you an expert at writing papers. If you care about really learning how to write, I can't recommend Cheney enough. He goes off on tangents sometimes but it's pretty easy to see it coming and tune out.

I LOVE this guy... He was the first professor i had. I'm a dual enrollment student and I had to do my high school work which was a lot and Cheney's work.. So its not hard at all. He tells you how he wants everything and helps you through it.. I recommend him for anyone.. I received an A in the class :) I love him. Oh and he loves Bill O'Reilly.

Speaking from someone who horrible at English classes, my whole perspective of the subject was changed by Cheney. I passed the class with flying colors. The class may not be easy, but it is very enjoyable. Loves politics and red pens. His 1101 and 1102 classes are very similar. Gag me with a spoon!

Professor Cheney is probably one of the greatest professors i have had thus far! I looked forward to going to his class, and listening to his goofy stories. He's pretty old, but hes super funny and gives lots of chances for extra points. If you show up to class, and follow his guidelines for papers, you will be guaranteed an A.

Professor Cheney is my absolute favorite professor thus far. He explains everything thoroughly, gives live-saving handouts and uses examples to illustrate what he's teaching. He's a tough grader, but if you listen to him and read everything he gives you, you'll be fine. He loves to help and gives every opportunity to succeed. GREAT PROFESSOR!!

Fantastic English teacher. He is so specific about what requires in his assignments that it's nearly impossible to go wrong. His handouts are so great that I still refer to some of them nearly a year after taking his class. Though he's not the easiest teacher in the world, he is great if you're really interested in learning.

If you are not republican, I would avoid this class. He is biased and uses racial examples. For example his The new car we bought, from President Obama, was stolen. Other handouts further his bias. He spouts his political beliefs and feels like indoctrination. Other than that great professor.

Writing comes fairly easy to me so when I receieved a D on my first paper I was shocked. I soon realized I'd never been taught how to write an A paper until his class. My second paper I received an A. Great teacher, very helpful, gives you 3 days to skip class, lots of easy quizzes tohelp boost your grade. Gives lots oh handouts. Take him!

Professor Cheney was great! I thought he was really funny and liked his style of teaching. Sometimes the class was hard, but I definitely came out of that class knowing a lot more english than I did when I entered the course.

I took Professor Cheney for Comp 1101 and Comp 1102. He is very clear from the beginning of all that is expected of the class. Also, he helps in any way he can. However, if you don't show up for class or skip out on the work, you will fail. I know this because I did, then re-took his class and got a B+ because you get what you give in college.

Professor Cheney is an amazing teacher. You will definitely know how to write when he is through with you. Obviously there is a lot writing in this class so be prepared. You will also cover grammar and other basic principals in his class. He gives amazing handouts to his students. They have all the info and examples that you need to know. FAR BETTE

BEST COMP Professor of all times. He holds your hand through assignments so you don't learn the wrong method. He tells you EXACTLY what formulas to use for writing. Only those who don't want to listen score below passing. I passed with 100% (I was a D student in high school) he really knows how to Teach for retention!

Such a hard grader. DO NOT TAKE HIM if you procrastinate or don't plan on working hard. I got an A in Comp. 1 and ended up with a D in Comp. 2. Also, I hated how he inserted his conservative viewpoints into everything. I read these reviews figuring he couldn't be that bad, but regretted taking him once I found out how impossible his class was.

Prof. Cheney loves his RED PENS!!! Overall, I thought he was a good professor - he is very clear about what is expected and will give you extra help with the Essays. Not too clear on some of the grammar and no book to look back on. Taking his 1102 this summer, he's not so bad.

He's tough!! But you follow his directions an you'll have no problem. He gives lots of extra credit, emails back quickly.He's hard grader but Fair.Dry humored but funny. Keeps you involved, ask questions!! Don't go in thinking you already know this course!!!

(1101 and 1102)He gives very clear directions, be willing to follow them and you'll be able to write research papers no problem. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is mature and ready to learn. It is also worth mentioning that if you are having problems in the class just approach him and show you actually care and he will help a lot.

Excellent Instruction! Lots of handouts. Explains everyhting from paraphrasing, commas, he also does extra credit. He is extremely helpful. Will email you back immediatly. Has a passion for teaching. Doesn't just send you home to read the book and fend for yourself. Once you take his class, you will know how to write several types of papers.

He's clear with directions but loves to tell anecdotes. He leaves absolutely no room for creativity and gives handouts for everything. Within handouts are guides that spoon-feed how to create essays. As I said there is absolutely no room for creativity and the work is boring to say the least. It's a simple course but as far as essays go it's bad.

#2 Prof @Edison. You are spoon-fed everything, so there is no excuse to get below an A. Pay attention to the mini syllabus, and you will do just fine. Of course he is going to grade the content and grammar of your work, it is a Comp class. Plenty of opportunity for extra credit, just speak up when he asks questions in class. Very helpful. Take him!

Took him in summer B and hes great. Extremely clear on his teaching and gives extra credit points constantly. You dont need the comp. book either, he works off of hand outs that he makes.Not an real easy A but not to hard to get one either. recommend him to anyone.

He is a great teacher he cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. He keeps the class interesting with his high energy and silly stories. He's pretty old school doesn't let you submit assignments through email but still an awesome teacher.

This is the best professor I have had on Edison in my life time. He seems pretty difficult when you meet him for the first time but honestly he is as he says just a front :-). He is willing to offer assistance even in other classes that are writing intensive. You have to take him, he even gives advice into how you should take classes and when.

One of the best professors and easiest classes i've ever had. He takes you step by step on every assignment/ essay he assigns. He is very helpful when it comes to feedback on essays. It is also very easy to contact him and he replies to emails very quickly. I would recommend him especially someone who isn't very strong in writing.

Best professor I have ever had in my entire life. I took him for ENC1101 and took him again for 1102. I always hated English and writing, but I did awesomely well in his class. I never got a grade below 90 for any of his tests or essays. If you follow his guides, there's no way you cannot get a good grade. Don't miss a class and you will do great.

professor Cheney will mark your paper with red marks everywhere and he likes his assignments done his way, if not, you wont pass. he will help you with whatever you need, just ask. he tells funny stories and makes class interesting. i am a dual enrollment student and i learned more in his class in a semester than i have all my high school career.

Tells funny stories. He does grade really hard and his favorite part about life is drawing literally all over your paper with red ink. But he is really helpful and very open to any help that you need. I would say he is a pretty good professor. To survive you have to show up, pay attention, and FOLLOW his guide for writing the essays.

He has his own method and if you dont follow it you wont pass! Im not sure if i would recomend his class, i Failed but i know otheres that passed with ease, im not good at writing so i think its my fault. He will help you if you ASK.

Granted, you signed up for an English class, but a quick five-minute discussion will help a student isolate a topic or two for your research papers. Some students anti Cheney. Dont listen to them! They claim Cheney is bias and stuck in his ways. Nothing could be further from the truth. Professor Cheney is awesome.

Do you like receiving research papers back with a grade and no comments? Well if you do, dont take Cheney. Professor Cheney explains in detail why you earned a particular grade. Not to mention the comments are hilarious. Lastly, Professor Cheneys class often becomes a discussion about politics, culture and ethics.

I took Professor Cheney for ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. First, his instruction is clear and concise. Most of us didnt purchase the book for ENC 1102 because we knew how effective Professor Cheney is, when it comes to explaining assignments. Secondly, his feedback is accurate and entertaining.

Not every student gets the pleasure to take Professor Cheneys English class; Im glad I did.

so if you're looking for an easy A this isn't the class. miss a comma or a period you're getting points off. hes also one of the few professors i know who made sure he was always available when needed. he literally did EVERYTHING to help us get a good grade. he gets off topic literally all the time tho.

Professor Cheney will bleed on your papers w/ red pen. If you note his corrections & apply them, your grades & writing will improve. NEVER FORGET TO DOUBLE SPACE!!! Amazing comp professor.

Very nice and kind. He cares about his students and he gives a lot of chances to make up work that was missed. Gives out quizzes, but lets you know when they will be given out at the beginning of the course. Gives very good feedback to essays and does his best to help out. Always responds to e-mails within 24 hours.

I really enjoyed having Professor Cheney for Comp I! There were a few writing assignments (all varying in length & type) and grammar rules. He gives specific instructions, and if you follow them, it's easy to get an A on all assignments! The grammar quizzes were simple if you looked over the rules. He has a pleasant personality and sense of humor!

Take him. Hes really funny, and you learn a lot from him. I am a much better writer now because of him. Just dont be lazy!

Amazing professor. Any student giving a bad review has yet to take any other English college professor. To complain about his handouts means you're complaining that he took the time to summarize & simplify material that other professors will have you reading for hours on end. I personally found his teaching method ingenious and I learned a lot.
