funny, quizzes are strange but not to hard very interesting class
She does not really interact with the class stands upfront gives a power point presentation talks the whole class makes some jokes but I don't find her helpful or concerned allowing you to understand. Quizzes every week . I can't wait to finish it .
She has the kind of sense of humor that you need to pay attention to everything she says in order to get it. She tries to make power-point presentations informative, but it's a long class and it's tough to stay focused for such a long evening class. Overall, the quizzes are straight from her presentations so you really need to attend class.
Greek and roman. Professor Moring pulls the night class. She is very motivated and educated. Although the class is long she keeps it interesting and fun. Just do the work and show up. You will get an A and learn something too. She is very ez on the eyes as well ;)
Class was really interesting if you keep an open mind and have fun with different philosophies and ideas. Assignments are graded by effort sense it is mostly you expressing your opinion or interpretation.
Prof. Moring is an okay teacher. I took her for Intro to Humanities and I don't recommend anyone to take her for that class. We have no group work, no homework. Just quizzes and power points. If you are a visual learner don't take her class. At least her quizzes are straight from the power points and the final is based on the past quizzes.
Study and you will pass. Class is tough but she gives alot of information for you to succeed.
Professor Moring overall was a good teacher. She is very nit picky when it comes to grading papers. There is a lot of homework. All you have to do is complete all of it and study and you will pass. It isn't to hard if you really put effort into it.
You have to show up to class! Classes can be interesting as long as you participate and keep an open mind. Homework is based off opinion so there is no right or wrong, you just need to write. Tests are based from class power points and can be passed by just paying attention in class.
If you have time take her. You will need to study and show up to class everyday. Personally, i don't like her. Her teaching skills needs improvement. She is rude and has a way of telling you things in a disrespectful manner. she has a way with words. I have always made As in humanitites, but not now. thanks to this teacher.
Professor Moring was the worst professor I had this entire semester. I needed caffeine to force myself to stay awake in her class. She keeps the lights dimmed low and just stands in front of a power point and talks the entire time. Although she is funny at times, she is rude to students. I am a straight A student and I got a "B" in her class.
She seems harsh but is not. just show up, do all of the homework and turn everything in on time. only 2 1,250 papers and a final presentation. just follow her instructions, she lets you know exactly what she wants. it is not an essay A but you can pass if you try...
The class was interesting at times but for the most part she stands in front of the class with the lights off lecturing from a powerpoint. She treats her students as if they are in high school and rudely kicks them out of class if they fall asleep or text. Her class was easy and shes good looking but i wouldn't recommend her due to how rude she is
She makes the class interesting in a way but she is very rude and i would not advise to take her. Also make sure to be to case on time she is very strict with tardiness.
Professor Morning is passionate. She filters little as an adult and treats her students as such. No warm fuzzes, but expect direct, up front, adult conversation. Put away your phone, or tables, it’s just plane rude and she will call you out. At the end it becomes an art class. Put effort into your work. Defend your thesis and point of view.
She is a rude teacher. Her class was okay, she assigns a lot of work and gets upset if you email her with your questions. She is the most strict professor I've had about writing papers and when I asked for help/clarity on it she got rude with me.
She is very strict about phones and tardiness. She is an okay teacher. If you are not interested in the subject or dedicated to passing you are going to tune her out and not pass. Even though this is not a gordon ruled class she treats it as such and expects you to be able to write well. We only used the book twice in class and that was it.
Rude, ridiculous amount of work and expectations set upon us, and even though she is a college professor, she still acts as though she teaches middle school. Avoid her if you can.
Seems like she does not like teaching. Massive amounts of homework. Make sure you are a good reader, some of the readings are difficult. Test are so so. Come in to class already knowing the material cause she does not make the content clear.
She is rude and sarcastic. Very nasty attitude. She always have an attitude. She treats and talk to you like you're a child. She wants you to write paragraphs, 5-8 sentences, in response to all answers, even if the material isn't there. If you show late to class, she refuses to let you sign in and will mark you as absent. DON'T TAKE HER !
I don't know why everyone says she's rude. She's a little strict, but not that bad. I like her. She's very interesting and I enjoyed coming to class. My writing skills improved a lot.
She did not receive good ratings below but for me this class was such an easy A. As long as you do the work assigned your A-Ok! She gives a study guide for midterm and allows you a pass on one homework assignment. She's not strict, she's just doing her job.
Professor Moring was a great teacher if you are in this class to learn you will pass if you do not want to learn then you will find a way to not like her or her class I am normally a BC Student but I passed her class with an A. It was interesting and I actually did all the readings!
Professor Moring is SUPER EASY. If you don't pass with an A, you're just lazy and don't show up to class or don't even care about college. Shes super clear on what she wants. NO textbook use, I will be taking her for GrecoRoman in the fall. Shes super easy to work with, she makes class funny and she grades fairly. Only dislike - NO PHONES
If you don't like humanities, and you are taking this class because is a pre-requisite don't take her... unless you want to be challenged. I really didn't like her, she is very strict and hard grader.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! she does not know how to teach. ever had one of those teachers that just talk about random stuff. this is her, when it comes to test, you are lost. everyday you go through a power point, not sure what to write down. everyone was lost the entire semester. The lectures are very boring. yes she is strict.
I love her! She is super knowledgeable and very friendly. She gives clear instructions for homework and papers. She expects college level writing for everything. Homework is based off readings and they are the majority of grade, easy midterm, 2 papers, and creative final. All of her expectations are very reasonable, just follow them.
She is rude; a acquired taste. Her homework and her readings are very hard. Her test are extremely easy. She does a horrible job at grading papers and explaining what your paper is supposed to be about. She is very repetitive which can become annoying since she goes on for ten minutes. In general I think she is a horrible teacher DONT TAKE HER!
Prof. Moring is always open to helping her students if they meet her halfway, actively participate and do the work assigned. How the class operates: 1. read the passages assigned, 2. HW- your opinions and personal understandings about the passages, 3. reviews it in class, 4. Grades- based on your critical thinking NOT if you got it right or wrong.
Professor Moring helped me realize that a picture is not just a picture. She helps you analyze and understand humanities. Morning gives great criticism and helps you write great papers! Sometimes she provides the book but definitely show up for class. She is a really great lecturer! I would take all her classes if I could.
Professor Moring is a fantastic instructor. She is always ready to help students and answer any questions we have. I learned a lot about humanities with her, she is really a master in what she does. Also, it is very clear how passionate Professor Moring is about arts, architecture, and everything involving humanities. I definitely recommend her .
Professor Moring is a great professor. I would definitely take her over and over. her class was an easy A. as long as you show up to class, and do her quizzes you should pass with an A. she always motivate her students and actually listen to your concerns.
Professor Moring is a great Professor. Her class is easy and her quizzes as well. She knows what she is talking about and if you have a question you are free to ask. There is no homework, and it is just quizzes and two presentations. That is an easy A if you study.
I took her for mythology and it was extremely boring, I had a hard time staying awake. She's rude and not very helpful. All her in class assignments are group projects including the midterm. Her instructions on assignments and papers are very vague and she doesn't explain anything until after you submit it. The homework is very difficult and long.
Professor Moring is as good as they get. She is very clear what she expects from you from day one. I took her for Mythology and I loved it. She is extremely knowledgeable and funny. Be prepared to stay on top of your work. If you are lazy stay away from her class and do not waste her time. If you care about learning, take her! She is passionate!
Very hard to contact, does not give any feedback on assignments and not clear from the beginning, was not a good experience.
Impossible to contact, grades unnecessarily hard with no feedback at all as to why. The entire class is made up of only a few assignments so doing bad on one can cost you your grade. She offers no extra credit or outside help, an overall horrible experience.
Do not take this teacher, she is so rude and makes this class so much harder then it needs to be. She takes so long to respond to emails which is frustrating because this is an online class. She does absolutely no teaching or explaining and is not understanding or considerate. I have a 4.0 gpa and she was my first B. Just save yourself the trouble.
STUDY POWERPOINTS AND YOU WILL PASS EACH QUIZ. GROUP PROJECT REQUIRED, YOU WILL BE GRADED AS A GROUP, EVEN IF YOU PUT IN ALL THE WORK. THE PROFESSOR IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND NICE PERSONALITY.
She's a VERY intelligent teacher but that sometimes makes her class harder than necessary. Expect her class to be difficult but informative. Don't take her for an easy A.
This class was SO easy. Very few assignments, easy to pass. The final was a fun project on religion. If you're taking her online, watch due dates and read the syllabus. She forgot to give one quiz a due date unti after the date had passed but I questioned it and she allowed an extra day but said it was on the syllabus. Definitely take for easy A.
I took her Humanities class and to say the least she is the worst teacher I've had. She only gave about 6-8 assignments over 10 weeks and she was rude. She did not teach and did not work with me so I could receive the best grade possible. No extra credit offered at all which would be fine if there were more assignments. The workload is manageable.
Best Professor you can have, easy assignments and easy grade. If a presentation final isn't enough, I don't know what is
Professor Moring has been my favorite professor at Valencia so far. I never thought Humanities would ever become interesting to me until I sat through a lecture and was actually excited to tell others the cool stuff I had learned. Professor Moring is a wonderful teacher and she ACTUALLY CARES! Very interesting. Very kind. Will keep you on track!
Honestly this was the worst class I ever took. She was extremely rude and dramatic towards me. I managed to pass the class with a B luckily due to my work ethics. I would never take this class again, But some of the topics were interesting So if you like to learn about a bit of ancient history take humanities just not this one.
She was an overall okay type of professor but she doesn't explain things well enough. When you ask her to clarify and explain she would catch an attitude and ask what's so hard about the instructions she gave.
I took Professor Moring for both of my Humanities classes. She is not rude like people claim in their reviews. She teaches like a COLLEGE professor. You cant be lazy and do well. This is not a fly by night course. She is a fantastic teacher and so gifted with her knowledge. Take her if you take your education seriously (as you should).
If you think you are smart enough to get an A on this class, think it twice. I'm a "B" person and I think the advice's that she does doesn't really help. She also is really dramatic about every assignment and in my opinion she doesn't put to many assignment to get more opportunities to get our grade up. I wouldn't take her NEVER again in my life.
Took this professor's 6-week summer course. Loved the class and learned a lot. Would definitely recommend taking this course with Professor Moring.
The most boring class, it's SUPER hard to stay awake! Class is super easy. You get about 9 quizzes you take at home and 2 essays. Midterm and Final looks exactly like your quiz, just numbers changed around. You can't use your phone or laptop. Also you can't fall asleep. If you miss one class be prepared for your grade to drop a letter. No textbook!
This Teacher is by far the LAZIEST you will ever have , she makes you read all the chapters at home and makes you do the work for the topic before she ever speaks about it . No laptops allowed for note taking , and extremely poor timing on when she makes the assignments available to her students, her lectures are the most boring i have ever heard.
Weekly assignments which were usually three questions, one paragraph for each. Two papers that werent too long (1,000 words). The texts can be a little hard to understand but nothing more than what you would expect. Great class.
At first I hated the class and the professor because of the way she acted. However, she doesnt like dumb questions or repeating herself that makes come off as rude but shes human and gets annoys by silly things. Her tests are easy but she give many assignments so get ready to work hard and she grades tough. Yes youll read its a Gordon rule class
I took Online during the Summer, only 6 weeks. Clear syllabus with all assignments listed by week. 7 modules plus final project. About 2-3 assignments weekly, either quiz, discussion or writing assignment. The answers to all quizzes is in the power points or on Quizlet. Final Project requires attending an event and writing a paper about the event.
I took her online humanities class and it was very easy. There is usually a multiple choice quiz regarding the chapter she had you read, between 10-20 questions. There have been 3 small writing assignments where she asks for no more than two paragraphs. I can't speak for her in class but if you have the option to take her online its an easy A.
It is SO easy online. Late work is not accepted bcz she gives you A LOT of time to get work done (even in the 8-week class). There are about 3 writing assignments. One of them is the final. The majority of the class is based on quizzes which are easy. I got lazy and never did a writing assignment so I got a B, but if I had I would have an A.
Professor Boring is by far one of the most rude Professor's I've had in my two years of college and reminds me more of a low end public school teacher in quality and performance. The book is how you will truly learn anything. Mandatory attendance beyond 3 skip days (or she'll drop your grade by a letter etc.). Starts class by ranting for 20 mins.
This class was interesting but can get boring sometimes. Homework is easy if you actually try. The material is not hard but you do have to pay attention and study to get an A. Theres a midterm, final, final paper, and a presentation. Homework for every chapter. No extra credit.
Professor Moring is very upfront with her expectations. I was a student in her online fast track Humanities class. If you read the book and do the assignments, you'll get an easy A. Her tests are not hard and answers can be readily found. She does have you do one real world assignment where you must visit a museum, theater play or opera type event.
There is not many assignments yet the majority of the review work are powerpoints which include the bare videos that don't work. There are quizzes ever so often and she grades very heavy. If you get on question incorrect it puts a huge dent in your grade. Not to mention she gives no extra credit for such limited graded work and no bonuses.
The book was 15$ I used it mainly to find answers in our quiz for the artworks mentioned and one response paper, but most can be found on Quizlet. the chapter quizzes are short and again easily found. Final included visiting a museum and adding a pic of yourself in front of the art so photoshop if u must. Easy A tho interesting if into art/gods
Professor Moring is great, all of the lectures and class discussions we had were so captivating. Everything we read was super interesting and all of the homework was based on our own interpretations so its very easy to get good grades. Definitely would have her as my professor again.
This class boring and you don't do anything interactive. You're expected to read super long chapters to answer questions that don't make sense. Very tough grader and if you have something as little as a period or comma in the wrong place, she will take points off. Very rude to me while providing feedback on assignments. find a better professor.
it felt like with professor Moring doing research about the topic of writing was kicking yourself in the ass. Not only does she suspect everything is plagiarized your grade is heavily impacted simply by a plagiarism check regardless of citation. I took this class twice and the first time I had to withdraw because shes not understanding at all.
She is too tough grading, if you didnt like human history before you will hate it now. There is no talk with her, it is what it is. Be careful.
I can not stand this class. To start with the messages that she sends out can literally be put into a paragraph but then sends 4 paragraphs for things that are so simple. I think she grades way to hard I understand if you want to teach people to write correctly but don't make that way their grade down heavy.
Dnt take her! the work is easy and engaging but the professor is a tough grader. She is not a quick responder. Very nice professor but the work is very black & white but it seems like she want you to make stuff up vs refrerring to information you learned in the book. She's deff extra asf dnt waste your time. miss 1 assignment u fail.
Grades harshly. Everything is a written assignment while others have mostly multiple-choice to check if you learned reading. Expects a research-heavy essay at the end and doesn't allow the use of a book even though that's what is used for every single assignment. Everything has to be long instead of just answering the question and providing eviden
Professor Moring is one of the worst and unprofessional teachers I've ever had. I would email her and she would respond rudely. she would not tell you what you got wrong on the homework. unreasonable harsh grader. she believes she is teaching at an ivy college. She really shouldn't even be a teacher. unclear rubric. DO NOT TAKE HER.
I love professor Moring! She's very knowledgeable in her field, I've had her in person and online and I definitely would take her again. There is a decent amount of writing in her classes but as long as you do the readings and are willing to voice your own interpretations or thoughts on things discussed in class then you'll do well.
Her course made huge personal impact in my life. She pushes you to do deep critical thinking & encourages you to apply your own thoughts & in your writing. Her course helped refine MLA writing skills & made citations 2nd nature. If you're looking to reach max potential, take her class & apply yourself. Her passion serves a vital purpose for us all.
You honestly have to go above and beyond just to turn in what is supposed to be a 3-4 sentence assignment. It's easy to keep a decent grade in the class but get a bad grade on the final paper and it's over. I had a B the whole class up until the final paper. Would not recommend her, she was very rude when I got covid and asked for an extension.
The professor's inability to control their program is horrendous. Even if you get the answer right the first time, the program (Mcgraw Hill) still makes you do it again! Thus, 150 questions become 300! And that is in the first week of class! You also have to do the same amount of questions for every weekly quiz! All for 15 points each.
Professor Moring is very kind and very helpful. She lectures but also does group assignments (not graded) just for fun. She has 2 assignments due weekly and one final project. No late work, no being late for class, and if you miss attendance you're marked absent. She has an attendance policy. She is very kind and her lessons are very well outlined.
I can confidently say that Professor Morning was my favorite professor of the semester, and I did not at all expect that to come from a humanities class. Her lectures are fun to listen to, and her feedback is amazing. She was the first professor I've ever had send voice memo feedback on my work. Workload is easy, would definitely recommend her.
She was very rude, God forbid if you are going thru a tough time and you have a lot of work to do, She does not care. I was very busy throughout the week and I could not get to the assignment. I asked for an extension, and she pretty much brush me off to the side and told me "I'm not a college-level student" I 100% do not recommend her. Avoid her.
She's an okay teacher, However her lectures and lengthy and wordy. No type of late work accepted and very strict on attendance. Don't get me wrong she's not a bad teacher, but you mainly teach yourself and then she just does a run through of what you should already know. Not sure for other classes, but it feels like minimum classroom engagement.
The professor is passive-aggressive, and her lectures are very lengthy. Enjoying the Humanities is crucial to finding value in her lessons, as they can be pretty demanding. It's worth noting that no study guide was provided for the Mid-Term, leaving students reliant on a substantial amount of textbook material and class notes.
Professor gives really harsh grades on assignments, the work you do has to go above and beyond. You mainly teach yourself at least in an online class. Its one assignment per week but if you don't want to spend hours on an assignment don't take this class.
Mostly on your own work, the online textbook has everything you need. There was an annotation project and then the final presentation. The professor was very clear on criteria, sent announcements to remind students what to do every week, and responded to messages quickly.
Personally, this professor was not my favorite. She is very clear on her criteria however her grading is very harsh. There's not many assignments to complete but they are very long and take a bit of time to complete. If you complete any of the written assignments (out of 30 points) and its not up to her expectations expect 20/30pts or lower!!!
I went into the online class enthusiastic to put the work in as I enjoy reading. After turning in a few assignments - she began to start claiming that AI was used on the assignments when I never used AI. I literally have zero motivation as I feel she will continue to give zeros and low grades.
Personally, I wouldn't take this class with this professor. She is a very harsh grader!!! If you complete any of the written assignments which are normally out of 30pts and you don't complete it to her personal expectations do not expect anything higher than a 20/30.
Avoid her class if you can
If you don't live up to her own personal expectations of how things should be done you're bound to be in deep trouble
Not very responsive and that is crucial for online class
sorry but i do not recommend her because she not clear and responsive and that's very important when it comes to an online class, please do not take her y'all. It might seem easy at first but in the end, she almost made me fail like what did I ever do to her, no hard feelings.
She was very personable and kind overall. Her grading is horrible. I got a 100% on every single assignment except for the midterm, which I got a 60 on. It was 5 questions worth 100 points and It dropped my 100% A to a 70% C. Ruined my perfect GPA. Beware. She does not do partial credit either.
At first she seemed very strict but she wasn't too bad. When you needed help and emailed her, she responded in a timely manner and was actually helpful. The assignments were straightforward and clear. It's clear she wants students to succeed and do their own work. Overall a great professor. Would take again.
All her assignments come from the book. There are about 19 for the whole semester, and they're all pretty easy. But if you miss even one or two, your grade drops a lot (happened to me). I didn't really talk to her, so I'm not sure about communication. She's strict with late work and usually won't reopen anything. If you stay on time, you'll be fine
While her lectures were a bit boring, she knew what she was talking about, and was an easy grader.
