Enjoyed this class! Teacher keeps the class from being a real snooze. Take notes and read the book and you can do well in this class. Test can be tricky, so better no the material. No group work!

I've had her for several classes and made easy A's, but her Psychology of Aging class is harder. I made a B. There were 75 people in the class and only 3 A's.

She is an awsome teacher. She makes it as interesting as possable. What she says will be on the test IT WILL BE ON THE TEST. I recommend taking her.

great lady, interesting and down to earth. pay attention to reviews. test are sometimes hard, but you wont be too bad off if you just pay attetion. no attendance taken.

Her class is pretty easy. Most of the lecture comes from the book. Attendance helps, because she gives bitd of random info (statistics, etc) that show up on tests. The class is VERY interesting. Some of it is kind of graphic, but you're always learning something. I highly reccomend her.

abnormal psych is an interesting class and she made it very interesting. she has alot of good stories to share and her test are multiple choice. take her shes great

This class was very interesting and she was a fun teacher. Basically lectures straight from the book, but doesn't always tell you what to expect on the tests so it can be hard to ace them.

She is awesome. She will make you laugh in class. Her test are from the notes and book. You need to attend class because she does have questions from her lecture. I would take her again.

This is an excelent teacher, her classes are honest and fair, and her grading is clear and easy to understand. The only issue is that some people thought this class was just too much. It was sort of... blunt

She is funny and realistic. Has very interesting stories. She doesnt take attendance but you have to go to class to pass cause all she does is lectures with the occasional video.

She has a cool personality and is easy to talk to. I rarely went to class, but if you do you can basically highlight straight from the text. Read the chapters thoroughly and answer the review questions in the back to study for the tests. Grading is straight forward. 4 tests, 50pts each. 10pt bonus research paper optional. Would take her again.

Great professor. Take her. Attendance is not mandatory, but I wouls go to class. Her tests are not hard and they are multiple choice. If you do miss class, you can study by doing the online quizzes from the book. She even pulls some of her test questions from the online quizzes. So take her if you can.

Great teacher! Good sense of humor and explains the notes throughouly. She doesn't take role but I recommend reading the book and understanding at least the basis of the notes. Also has a 10pt extra credit paper which helps towards a test. Would definitely recommend to anyone. I got a B and I loved the class. Learned alot!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED HER CLASS! i would definatly take it again! she is very fun and easy to get along with. you dont have to go to class but that was the one class i actually looked forward to. make sure you go the day before the test. she tells you exactly what will be on the test. EASY EASY EASY. Gives review day before the test. You could either go to every class and not even buy the textbook, or buy/read the textbook and go to class only the day before exams and pass. This class is no problem at all.

Easy class and attendence is not mandatory. Just go the day before tests for the review and study from you book. Although attendance isn't mandatory she does like to put questions on the tests(even the final) from movies watched in class so don't totally skip out.

I loved this class not only was it informational, but she made class fun. She was graphic but you can handle it. if you study then the test are easy. Test come striaght from lectures and textbook... I LOVED THIS CLASS

Okay, so her 100 level classes are easy. Weeeird. Upper-level psych classes are no joke with Brotzen. Im not one to request a test review in college, but for this class her review is "all of it" which hurts you on the first one if you expect a lot of guidance. Still nice, still entertaining, still reccomended, but not easy anymore. Not up here.

I love this lady! She makes the lecture fun and its easy to remember what she tells you. You do not NEED the book but I recommend it because she does ask some stuff from it. If you read and go to class you will pass without a problem! TAKE HER!!!

A truly amazing professor! Makes the class very interesting! Shows alot of interesting videos and has very interesting stories along with lectures! If you attend class and take notes on the lectures and read the chapters in the book you will ace the tests easy. She is also very open to all class questions. Has a great sense of humor and very nice!

Awesome Teacher! I learned so much in this class. Attendance isnt neccessary but it will affect your test grade in the end. I would recommend this class & professor to any one.

I had mixed feelings about this class. Brotzen is funny and really interesting to listen to, but I feel like on her tests she would go into depth about one specific subject (always seemed like it was the one I didn't study as much). It's hard to get an A on her tests. There are way easier profs that teach Psy 133.

She is a great teacher. She uses some of her own life's mishaps to make the factor of "This could happen to you" come to life. The book is helpful and the tests are mixed mostly from lecture, but from the book too. She is a great teacher and keeps the subject interesting! I recommend her to anyone.

This is a pretty difficult class to take & she makes you aware of that the 1st day. There is lots of content & you HAVE TO study, but buying the book is not necessary. She def knows what she is talking about & her lectures are easy to grasp! She gave 2 extra credit assignments. In the end I got a B & learned a lot! I would definitely recommend her!

You will get a good grade on the tests if you go to class. Because she may skip over an entire section of the chapter and tell you what she wants in class. Loved this professor. She is very personable and relates everything to a real life situation, and wants you to think about it. Highly recommend

easy class but Brotzen just doesn't have a good way of presenting. You'll be tempted to skip classes with her monotone voice. she scribbles random words on the board, u must take notes on what you hear. tests come from the book no need to come to class but read the book in great detail. very lazy on office hrs she'll send u to the t.a

She has a real world, cut-and-dry approach to this course. She doesn't deal much with concepts of disorders as many professors do, but elects to instead talk about Abnormal Psych from a clinical perspective. Everyone can get something out of it, but those in counseling won't get as much as Clinical majors.

Ms. Brotzen is awesome!! She doesn't use power points, so sometimes my notes would get disorganized, but her tests are over what she lectures, so notes are important. She has lots of stories to keep the disorders clear and interesting. I defintley reccomend her!!

She's a great professor! The way she gives lecture, it is way for you to understand the material so if you go to class then you won't need to open up the book to pass the class.

If you don't plan on attending class every day, don't take her. She has no powerpoints or printed notes, her lectures are strictly verbal. However she's very interesting, FUNNY, & the class is easy if you attend every day & take good notes. Tests are online, so you can use all resources, & there's extra credit opportunities, take advantage of them.

This class was a breeze. However, due to my B grade and not an A, I must let you know that you need to study in order to receive an awesome grade in her class. All her tests are online: they cover specific chapters in the textbook (a must, buy/rent it and READ IT), are 50 questions each and the final is not comprehensive. Great professor !

I was excited to take Abnormal Psychology and still remain excited to be taking it! I'll say just buy the book because they will help you big time when tests come along. Her teaching style is lecture so pay attention! She uses a lot of real world examples and is actually pretty funny. All tests are online but you gotta study at least a bit for them

God bless this woman. She is so very smart and makes class so much fun. Tests are all online and you can take them where ever you want to. Plays a lot of movies in class. Very very sweet and smart, makes the class easy to understand. 10/10 Recommend

4 tests offered online, MC. As long as you pay attention in class and skim over the chapters (especially DSM criteria) you will make an A.

The lectures are very interesting and keep you awake, especially if you take the class at 9 am. Just take notes and read the textbook. All the tests are online and you can use all your resources. She does show a lot of videos in class, but most of them are right after a test so if you plan on skipping do so right after a test.

Brotzen is a great professor for Human Sexuality. She makes you participate in research studies for extra credit that are not bad at all. There are only 4 tests (all online) in her class (no final). Her lectures are very entertaining, especially when she shares her personal stories or shows videos. Overall her class is very easy and fun!

Good teacher that doesn't really care. She teaches to those who want to be taught. Book is not a must but a really good idea if you don't really pay attention.

Professor Brotzen doesn't give out homework. You're given four or five tests (I don't remember) and they're all graded evenly so you don't have to worry about the "midterm" and "final" being weighted more than any other test. Even though attendance is taken in class I suggest it as Prof Brotzen goes over topics that are going to be on tests.

Professor brotzen seems okay, I honestly hardly went, the only grades were 4 online tests. Definitely recommend

Easy going professor and easy going class. No homework and no quizzes. You only have 4 tests, 12 R points (research points you receive by participating in online studies), and one essay towards the end of the semester.

Everything taught in class you can go back over in the read it textbook for more understanding. Textbook not need in class but it will be helpful to get it especially if you dont pay attention in class. All exam were online. When I went to her office hours to explain a subject she would with no problem. Overall great professor.

Julie Brotzen was one of my favorite professors! She is very funny and makes class very interesting with all of her stories! This class has 4 tests, which you take by yourself in the computer lab on test day. Attendance was not mandatory in the beginning of the semester, but was a grade later in the semester. Loved it and would take again!

Brotzen is a great professor that is very down to earth and honest with her students. She uses examples and videos to make theories easier to grasp. Attendance is taken on the occasion but make sure to be there when she does take it. Your grade in the class depends on your grades on the tests, so studying is a must and all tests are online.

prof. Brotzen is one of my favorite professors I have had, she is a very sweet woman, and she is very passionate about psychology. she does not make class mandatory but it is very good to go to class because he breaks down the module even more. there are quizzes every week, 4 core assignments and 4 test, if you study the material you can pass easy.

Professor Brotzen can be described as both lazy and caring. Most of class consisted of watching videos and then having conversations about the videos. This was an entry level class and she treated it as such. All of the coursework was five random attendance grades and four test so it was a pretty easy class compared to other psychology Proffs.

I took abnormal psychology with Brotzen and it was relatively easy. Attendance is strongly recommended but I missed quite a few classes due to Covid and I still did great. The class is fun and you will learn a lot but be prepared to reference your book often for the assignments.

I was never bored in her class, she teaches abnormal Psych so well. I already owned a copy of the DSM-V for years but it helped immensely in this class. I would take her for every psych class if I could. She is funny and engaging, I find myself rarely spacing out during her class. Must take!

Professor Brotzen is amazing. If I was a psychology major I would take her for as many classes as possible. She has a dry humor which is hard to get at first. Her lectures are easy to understand and her work is not hard as long as you stay on top of things.

Ms. Brotzen is a very chill professor. All of the tests and assignments are based on the textbook though so you better be prepared to read. However, she talks about it in class too so it's not hard at all.

10/10 would recommend Professor Brotzen! Her assignments are engaging, creative, and never boring. I had fun completing them! The course is super easy to navigate, thanks to her excellent organization. If you get the chance to take her class, you're in for a rewarding and enjoyable experience. You won't regret it!
