Julie is freakin' awesome. Just pay attention because there are few dull moments in her classes, she is very upbeat and always gives examples to make new learnings easier to understand.

I just love Julie Brown!She has very encouraging words and stories...she has helped me in a lot of ways that I think she is not even aware of! I think that if she changes just ONE person's life with her terrific teaching then you can call her the BEST Professor EVER! Her smile brightens my day!

Prof. Brown actually cares about you. At one point, canvas wasn't working a couple of hours. She sent out an email after describing how sad it made her that people emailed her assuming she "wouldn't do the right thing and extend the deadline, because some prof. had done that to them in the past". Only 1 quiz and 1 forum a week for summer, love her!

I have taken 6 different classes with Julie Brown and she is my absolute favorite teacher at Santa Barbara City College. She is a wonderful teacher and cares so much about her students and is very understanding. Iv had her in person and online. As long as you show effort and do the work you will do well in her class.

Her class is REALLY easy, an easy A. There are no essays, no tests or quizzes. Our homework is either a discussion online or complete pages in our book. Julie Brown is an amazing teacher. She is easy to reach and always gives feedback on your work. Such an amazing professor that cares for her students success. She has a very clear grading criteria. Just make sure you do the reading and all the work and you will get a good grade. I highly recommend her class. She's awesome.

Julie was BEYOND helpful. She is very accessible outside of class, and her lectures and information are very straight forward. If you really put in the work in her class, she takes the time to notice. She may seem like a tough grader, but if you turn your work in on time and participate it's an easy A. Absolutely would take this course again!

Marketing 101 with Professor Brown was a fantastic course! If you stay on top of the course load, you will do just fine. There is a book that correlates with her lecture notes and PowerPoints. Between those three, the tests and assignments are fairly straightforward. All assignments are relevant to the course.

Julie Brown is a professor who demonstrates a clear understanding of and appreciation for marketing. She goes above and beyond in showing support for her students' development and future endeavors. The structure of her course is well-organized and thoughtfully designed. I found the assignments and course materials to be relevant and informative.

I've had the pleasure of taking 2 classes with Professor Brown, both online and in-person/abroad. She takes her teaching to a level that other professors don't bother to do. She's caring and is willing to work with you/support you on your journey to success. She has hands down been one of the most influential professors throughout my time at SBCC.

I appreciated how Julie approached the course. She created materials using ChatGPT as an assistant, like we do as students. The class moves fast (16 weeks in 5), but she stayed clear, organized, and supportive. Everything was open-book/open-note, and she wants students to succeed. One of the most transparent, student-centered instructors I've had!

Professor Brown was extremely helpful with questions about the class. She responds to emails fast and cares about her students. The class was difficult (heavy workload) but very interesting and necessary for Business students. Would take again.

Pretty interesting class. Huge workload during the summer; 3 essays & 3 discussion posts weekly. No tests, though. The content is pretty easy though, and you get full credit as long as you hit the word count. Professor Brown is super accessible and super nice. You can expect an email reply in like 10 minutes and she is so, so willing to help.

One of the kindest and most supportive instructors I've had at SBCC. She explains concepts clearly and genuinely cares about her students' success. Her classes are well-organized and easy to follow, and she's always willing to help when you have questions. Professor Brown overall made the curriculum easy to understand and complete. Even when there was a misunderstanding, she worked to fix it and was super nice! Overall, an easy A and would definitely take again!
