Dr. Julie was an amazing professor that really cared about her students. She even have extra tutoring sessions before every test for students that are confused. She will try everything she can to help you succeed in Chemistry. She is extremely funny and her lectures are enjoyable. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO TAKE HER!! (HAS EXTRA CREDIT)

Dr. Burrell was an honest professor. Tests were always fair, and review days for the exams were held the day before. Test reviews were always provided which were always worked out during the review days. At first, she might come off as strict but she is quite the opposite. Extra credit is also involved. Strongly Recommend Dr. Burrell.

Dr. Julie Burrell is a awesome instructor. She is a great choice for chem. She was very in-tune with our class and provided additional study and practice time every week from her personal time. Well she's a nice professor and she makes sure everybody understands in class before going to a next chapter. Before test, she organizes a revision class just for the exam and it helps a lot.

Professor Burrell is a good teacher, even if chemistry is a hard subject. I took her 5 week summer course and she lectures for a week followed by a test. There are about 5 homework assignments and 4 tests plus a final. She does give a lot of extra credit. You must study outside of class. She does seem to know her stuff and she is funny.

Professor Burrell is honest, straightforward and will help you to the best of her ability. She replies fast to emails and is available to help with homework assignments. She encourages students to study hard. She's also very funny, she'll make jokes to get out of the boring lecture routines that we've all experienced.

She works hard to make sure you pass her class and get the lectures, but she tends to digress from what needs to be taught at the moment, so it can get confusing, but that's because she cares so much about you grasping the difficult topics later on. She gives out extra credit but not the same extra credit opportunity to everyone.

Best science teacher I've ever had. She has an accent but you understand what she says. Gives extra points in class for participating when you get questions right or even correct her. Amazing teacher I hope I can take her for Chem 2.

Dr. Burrell will work hard to make sure you at least pass class. She's very motivated to help you whenever she can. Don't be intimidated when she speaks up or raises her voice, it's just how she is sometimes. She's very funny and tries to keep the class engaged, and her lectures are down-to-earth and very helpful! She has exam preps which help too.

By far the best professor I've had. She loves teaching and doesn't like to fail students, she will go above and beyond to help you understand the lectures. She gives extra credit for participation so be prepared to answer questions in class.

Chem 1412 is a step up from Chem 1411, but Dr. Burrell did her best to make it manageable. She'll do what she can to help you pass, and she'll try to keep the class engaged. Overall she's a great professor. Would recommend to anyone struggling in Chemistry

She would answer all your questions and always make sure every single person in the class understand her lesson. She gives extra credit, drops one lowest test so you can get easy A. She is fun as well.

She thoroughly explains the material not just by using the power point but also explains things step by step using many examples on the white board. She involves the students by having you solve examples on the board in front of class while she goes through the material with you.

All I can say she the best professor in HCC. She will help you as much as she can and don't want you to fail the class.

Dr. Burrell will make sure you know Organic Chem 1 at the end of the day. The class is hard, but she goes out of her way to give you all the tools you need to understand the concepts. Highly recommended if you want to take orgo1 at a community college and understand it at a University level.

if you are looking forward to laugh trough an entire class please take this professor, she has a dry humor but means no harm. i am sad the semester is ending. she is funny and smart she can lecture about organic chemistry on top of her head. very sincere very honest. she is not here to make your life hell. awesome woman

I love Dr. Burrell. I didnt have a good orgo 1 background, but she still managed to make orgo 2 understandable. She will call you to the board to work out problems which really helps. She gives helpful test reviews and one take home exam and she also drops the lowest exam and replaces with the final. Overall, a funny and good professor.

Being as hilarious as she is, I honestly understood so much more than I ever did in Organic Chemistry I. Orgo II became simpler and just generally easier to understand.

One of the best professors, if not THE BEST, professor at HCC. (especially for a subject as challenging as organic chemistry!) Really knows, & most importantly- really, LOVES organic chemistry. Her passion is evident in the way she teaches the subject. You will come out of this class never afraid of organic chemistry, and you will love it as well!

she is willing to teach you til you understand clearly. For this class, you dont need to have a book, just read slides and do homework( not a lot of hw) , you can pass her test. Every test that you take in class will have 10 points bonus question.

Professor Burrell is a nice person that cares to educate you alot in chemistry even if you had no prior knowledge about it. It might take a few classes to get used to her explaining and teaching style but she is always willing to stop and review if needed. Just be sure to take alot of notes.

Professor Burell is very good at teaching you what you will need to know for the test she gives lots of reviews and goes over the reviews together in class. If you do the review you pass the test! She is really dedicated to making sure all her students pass.

Since I am taking this class during the summer, it is very fast paced and at times seems quite difficult. Be respectful towards her, do NOT speak while she is lecturing, (which a few disrespectful students dont seem to understand) and pay attention & you should be fine. She gives plenty of opportunities to earn extra credit.

She is very good in lecturing and ready to make every effort to see that students understand the course not for the sake of exams but to help student become more acquainted with chemistry courses removing the phobia of solving chemistry problems .She made the course looks very simple because she will explained the fundamental in solving Chemistry

Dr. Burrell is unlike any professor I have taken before. She is never afraid to speak her mind and defends her beliefs/values which I have a great respect for. She is bold and funny which kept the lecture exciting even when lecture was long ( taken during the summer session). If you listen, do hw and reviews. No reason for you not to pass

Dr. Burrell is a good Professor, but I do have to say she is a bit unorganized which for someone who has anxiety about everything this was really stressful. Does go off topic a lot, but she makes sure that you do understand the material and wants you to pass her class. Just stay attentative and keep up with your work.

Professor Burrell shows passion in the Chemistry field. Her accent is thick but easily understood after a few days. Moreover, she keeps the class fun through personal stories of her while she was attending school. Go to class , take her board notes,study her review exams and your grade will be surprisingly good. This class was awesome. Professor Burrell teaches great. Just online homework quizzes, 4 exams(drops 1) and a final exam. Quizzes are not timed and are unlimited.

Ms. Burrell is a very inspirational professor. I really work hard in my class. I have a B.A since 2013 and this is the hardest I've ever work and I really appreciate it. I learned not to take things for granted when I have a chance. I will miss her.

The professor is very enthusiastic in the job. She expected students to understand by working all her best in the class. I didnt use chemistry for more than ten years but she made the lessons simple and clear. I improved and I did it well this class . She gave a lot of assignments for extra credits so you can improve your grades.

I really wish she taught more subjects, I enjoyed her teaching that much. She can be fast paced, but willingly goes back over something if you ask. She truly cares if you learn. Chemistry's tough but she makes it as easy as can b. Homework is useful and you're allowed to redo it as many times as needed. Heaps of E.C. and very thorough exam reviews.
