She's nice, but she beats around the bush and doesn't teach well. You'll end up teaching yourself.
Terrible at lecturing. She can't get through a complete sentence in less than 10 minutes. Every thought that comes out of her mouth is tied together with "and then" "or" "but" etc. which just leads to complete misunderstanding. She also erases things and confuses herself. She has chronic complaint syndrome and acts like her job is really hard.
This is a horrible teacher. She is one of few teachers out to get her students. She has no interest in your success and grades based on her mood. She is less than knowledgeable and extremely long winded. Avoid her if fairness and respect high up in your values.
This woman is a terrible teacher. She is disrespectful to her students and will confuse the daylights out of anyone who actually pays attention in her class. She constantly tells you how she doesn't have time for your questions and will misgrade every assignment that you turn in. AVOID!
There is a lot of material to go through in the course and Chenier does her best to go over everything in class. Due to so much material, she sometimes rushes. Go to class and copy the practice problems she works through. It helps to use the study guide at the back of the book. Wiley Plus hw is also easy points.
She is an awful teacher. she gives you tons of notes and things to study for and she is not willing to help you outside of class. she willl only send you to her GA's.
Awful teacher. Do not take. She is probably the worst teacher I have ever had while at LSU
Rude. Aggressive woman that seems intolerable of wrong answers or attempts in class discussions. Very unwelcoming.
Went to her office for extra help and she flat out refused to help me saying that everything I need to know is in the email she sent us. She is terrible in the classroom and you basically have to teach yourself if you want to do well. She's very rude and completely unhelpful.
She's not a very competent teacher. Doesn't use time wisely and students pay for it on exams. Crams 5 chapters on first test. Taught a whole chapter ONE day before exam. Comprehensive final exam involving TWELVE chapters. Not the best option. Read the textbook extensively to pass.
She is very condescending at times to students who have questions. She isn't that great of a teacher. On the math problems she breezes through and expects everyone to know it. So you have to teach yourself a lot of the problems. I would definitely not recommend taking her.
Knows a lot about the subject and is very easy to follow in class when giving lectures. However, she's not all that kind or patient with you outside of class because she feels as if you have plenty of opportunities to better understand the information without her help. Must attend class for the quizzes and if you hope to understand the material.
The class is not too difficult if you attend class and study hard for the tests. However, she is not very nice and very easily annoyed. Going to class is essential! Just try to tune out her rants.
Mrs. Chenier can be rather rude sometimes. She likes to add "tricks" in the test, as she calls them, which can completely throw you off. She goes through problems in class too quickly, usually I don't even get the whole problem copied down before she's moved on. Tests are difficult
Contrary to what these other commenters seem to think, Chenier is a completely competent woman who really knows her stuff. She gives detailed notes that explain the material fully, and goes over TONS of practice problems in class. Her bluntness seems to be mistaken as rudeness rather often, but she really is a nice woman. I highly recommend her.
Useless, horrible teacher. Spends much of class time complaining about emails she's received and yelling at students for using computers or phones. Provides her own notes that are really messy. For formulas and calculations, her notes are completely inconsistent with the textbook, homework, and tests, and class feels like a giant waste of time.
She is not clear in her assignment prompts so get it done a day or so early and meet with her. Her test are not hard. Problems on the test are very similar to examples in class. B's are easy by working problems. To get an A you need to read the book because that is where she gets multiple choice from. Go to class and she is nicier to you!
Great teacher, people who say she is a bad teacher are the ones who want the teacher to spoon feed them all the information and how to do anything. She is preparing us for the real world. And her tests are exactly what you learned in class, so you dont have to study too hard. People who say the tests are hard obviously either dont go to class.
Though her tests are incredibly juvenile, she over-complicates simple subjects. She's the only person offered for this course, though, so she's unavoidable unless things change.
Not a great teacher, easy tests. Do the homework and read the book. A lot of answers come from reading the book. The test format is different than what you expect but if you know the key words it's not bad. To study, I went through and highlighted chapters and did the back pages. Class isn't necessary but she does have semi-pop quizzes.
Mrs. Chenier is not a very good teacher in general. She goes way too fast in class and does not take the time to explain nor allow you to understand the information. Be prepared to teach yourself. She gives clicker questions so make sure to go to class. Basically, study well for the tests and know the information, then you'll be alright.
Accounting is generally a hard class you must study for. She is very fair and is their to help. You do need to attend class every day for clickers. Yeah, you get frustrated sometimes but she's a really good professor and is their to teach. I learned a lot. You just need to study hard.
I absolutely hate accounting with a passion and this class only made me hate it more. I failed every single exam because I didn't understand how to study for this course and everything was complicated even when I went to the review sessions with the TA's. She seems like a nice lady but that doesn't make up for the class being so crappy.
As an accounting major I had a strong like for the class and the material. However, I recognize this teacher would not be of much help to someone who didn't know the material or care. I did a lot of independent study, which was required to excel in this class. She is not very good at presenting the info verbally.
After setting the curve in my previous ACCT 2001 course, I expected good things in this one. Nope, she spends most of the time complaining about people not paying attention and then rushes through the material. A few clicker quizzes but she usually couldn't get the receiver/software to work. Her final was the only F I've ever had. Barely had a B.
She has a very strong personality, but contrary to what people seem to be saying, she IS a good teacher and she DOES give good, detailed notes. She also goes over countless examples, mostly from the book. This class relies heavily on memorization. If you memorize the tables and formulas she gives you, you'll make an A on every test.
She is super nice and helpful. The class is honestly not difficult. Read the book if you dont listen in class, but she makes things easier and more clear if you just listen during class.
Probably the worst teacher I have had at Lsu. Class wasn't hard but the lady doesn't care about her class or their grades.
Julie is one of my favorite professors at LSU. Yes, she does fuss sometimes but only because she puts a lot of effort into her lectures. She uses props and gives plenty of examples in class. The tests are hard, but if you truly practice and understand the review the day before, you should be okay. I made a high A on every test and a B on the final.
Professor Chenier graded very fairly and was prompt in responding to my emails. She provided clarification on several points when I requested it, and even went above and beyond one time by emailing me the solutions when they had inclement weather and she knew the mail wouldn't go out very soon. This is a hard class, but she was helpful and friendly
Julie Chenier has an extremely strong personality and ego inside and outside of class. She offers help outside of class such as office hours and a "review session" but both are very unhelpful and full of her attitude. She worries more about people paying attention in class than she is actually teaching. The exams are tough but doable. Overall: bad.
Julie Chenier is so worried about punishing the students who don't pay attention or leave class early she fails to realize she's disrupting all of the people who are actually there to learn. She goes on rants about how we are as students in an extremely negative way in almost every class. Her tests are nothing like the exam reviews. Good luck.
I absolutely despise this woman. I am an accounting major and truly enjoy the material, and she managed to make this course as miserable as possible. She is a horrible teacher and complains about students only caring about clickers and leaving early. If she put that effort into actually teaching something it might be a decent class.
Make sure you get A's on the homework and quizzes, because it is your only hope of passing this class. Chenier is the worst teacher I had at LSU, she berates students for leaving early or making sounds and is not a friendly face you would want to approach outside of class. Her tests are harder than you think and are nothing like the hw. Get a tutor
Professor Chenier is a great teacher. Puts note outlines on Moodle and elaborates in class. Gives clicker quizzes and connect homework for each chapter. Gives two 80 point tests and then a 100 point final. Tests are tough but if you go to the review and study you should do fine. She is the only teacher who teaches this class. Overall, good teacher.
She does clicker quizzes every other class and it seriously impacts your grade. Tests are hard and isn't anything like the homework on Connect (I wouldn't bother buying a book when you have access to one on Connect). Also, be prepared, she spends a lot time berating her students instead of teaching when all I want to do is learn. Very frustrating.
Overall she's a great teacher. She does plenty of practice problems so you know how to work everything. Raising your hand is awkward bc sometimes she does unintentionally make you feel stupid. She gives clear cut study guides for the tests but review sessions by the GA saved me during test time. Clicker quizzes can seriously impact your grade.
She is a great teacher. She expects your to be respectful and pay attention in class. If your like to talk and text during class then your might not like her. Her lectures are very clear and she will answer any questions you have. She goes over a lot of examples in class which helps with the understanding of the material and helps with the homework
Her lectures are VERY annoying, and she you keep showing up because of clicker points. The tests are semi hard, but some of the info she posts on moodle will help you get a C at the least. Don't expect to take this class from any other professor, she is your best option (sadly) and will continue to be until she leaves LSU. Good luck and God speed!
Ms. Chenier was a really good teacher and always willing to help. She always worked out the problems in class in a really clear way and if you didn't understand something, she'd always help you in office hours. You can get high A's on the tests if you know how to do the problems.
She's not the worse professor ever, but all the reviews about her being a complainer is definitely true. She give a lot of examples in class which could be beneficial but she goes through them so fast that it's nearly impossible to follow. She gives clicker questions after each chapter. Homework is tough. Test aren't too bad & all multiple choice
Has confusing questions on the test that she claims are not there to" trick you".
She was not a good teacher, she is not good at explaining material and makes it harder than it seems. makes you go to class to do clicker quizzes.
She is the only prof for ACCT 2101, so I'm not gonna tell you how bad she is but what to do. Work on homework assignments with friends. ALWAYS do the homework and learn-smart. She lets you take clicker quizzes with friends, so choose them wisely. She gets angry when you don't participate. Do the work, you'll be fine.
She goes way too fast working out in-class problems, so u don't even get to finish copying the problem in the first place. Clicker quizzes are pretty tough and they actually count for right or wrong. The tests are okay if u study; its mostly computations. The final, however, I thought was really difficult!! Wish there was someone better to teach.
I only went to class for clickers. They aren't hard, but make sure to show up for them and do the homework also, they add up quite quickly. I never listen in class, since I can learn the material on my own. Just study the Powerpoints and homework, and you'll be fine. Can't really give her a grade since I never used her for help.
Professor Chenier isn't a horrible. I will be honest and say I didn't put my all in this class. What to expect? Homework and it's tough! 2 exams and a final. Clicker quizzes and learn smart from from McGraw-Hill. This class is hard if you do not study on your own! Be sure to read the book! Lectures weren't much help for me!
You really don't have to go to every class besides when the quizzes are and those are right around the end of the chapter lessons so be aware of the syllabus schedule. Always do your online homework and learn smart. The tests are way easier than the homework but still study. The final was harder than expected though. She's a mediocre teacher also.
I learned from the book only. Shes does work practice problems and give a few shortcuts though. She gives clickers and homework for each chapter that weigh a lot. Also has review and practice tests for each exam(2 and a cumulative final). She gives no bonus points or curves and only drops one clicker.
Her lectures are boring and hard to follow, but if you do, it helps a lot. Go to the test review sessions (helps so much), but she gets mad if no one answers her questions bc she says you didn't study yet and then she canceled one of our reviews bc of it. There are clicker questions randomly and she'll split it into 2 days to get you to go to class
I don't understand the hate for this teacher. She is the best ACCT teacher I have had at LSU. Her homework is tough, and you really need to drill the formulas she teaches you into your head to pass the exams, which there are only 3 of, and thery're not too hard at all. She also gives you clicker quizzes at the end of every chapter. Very nice woman.
She doesn't curve but if you attend lectures and do the clicker quizzes (easy 5 pts each) and the homeworks the test shouldn't be that difficult. Grades are based on a certain amount of points earned throughout the semester so last minute trips to her office will not help you. Her lectures are tedious but very helpful!!!
Attendance is really only mandatory for clickers. However, printing out her notes from online, attending class and filling them out as she goes through them is very helpful. If you go into her after an exam she is very helpful with going through what you missed, also if you have homework questions she is helpful. Reading the chapters also helps.
READ THE BOOK and take notes. That's how I got an A+. Never paid any attention in class. She's super annoying to listen to and treats students like children. Just know the book inside and out. Make sure to get help for clicker questions and the final.
Very rude. Walked in every day mad and took it out on the class. Take anyone else!
Professor Chenier's class was tough, but very much prepared me for upper level accounting classes. She expects a lot out of her students, but if you work hard it will pay off. If you study, A's on the exams are possible. Homework load is heavy, but helps prepare you for the exams. She was always willing to answer any questions/problems I had.
She is a horrible professor. She is very rude and inconsiderate of others. I will never take her for another accounting class again.
Chenier mostly teaches through sample problems that she goes through very quickly without a lot of explanation, and she has a tendency to be condescending when answering questions. On a positive note, she cares about her students, but her class has been one of my least favorite at LSU.
She is pretty bad. Made me hate managerial accounting because of her boring lectures, condescending manner, and overall, just her sarcastic tones. I don't believe you have a choice in who to take for ACCT 2101, though, so just suck it up and make sure to keep up for what days you have in class quizzes.
If you have the choice, don't take her. She is so sassy and complains about her students throughout the whole class. She rambles on about random things and is hard to keep up with. Going to class is pointless but there are quizzes so you have to go. I already hated accounting and she made me hate it even more.
Unfortunately, I believe Chenier is the only option for an accounting 2101 professor. She is very condescending and is rude when people ask questions that she thinks they should know the answer to. The success of her students is most definitely not her goal. She moves very fast and is sassy when she is asked to slow down. 10/10 would not recommend.
There are ten in-class quizzes which are worth about 10% of your grade. She drops one. 25% of your grade comes from LearnSmart and Connect assignments. Three exams make up the rest of your grade. Make sure you do the study guides. Professor Chenier is not the nicest cookie in the batch but I believe deep down she does care about our success.
Go to class, do homework, and pass with an A+
Nice lady. Most people can't stand her. This is a departmental course, so there is a strict curriculum. The homework can take you up to 2-3 hours. The homework has nothing to do with the test questions. Gives pop quizzes worth a total of 50pts. Get the test bank and learn how to work those test questions. no other options for acct 2101
Two exams & a cumulative final. McGrawHill Connect homework and LearnSmart assignments due EVERY week. Attend class because there will be clicker quizzes at the end of each chapter. Attend class or you will be left to teach yourself the formulas and concepts using the textbook. Don't buy a paper textbook because there is an e-book on Connect.
Honestly she might be a good teacher but I only went because of pop quizzes. Just study the review materials she provides before the exams and you'll do fine. I suck at accounting and I'm gonna finish with a B at the lowest. You just have to tune her out when you're in class.
Julie Chenier is not the devil people make her out to be. They performed poorly in this class because of the lack of understanding with the material. Be a good student. Show up to class, take notes, ask question. Yes, she may stop class for stupid reasons, but its worth it in the end. Easy A if you're an accounting major.
She will use her class to lecture everyone in the college of business about "the real world". Tons of Wiley Plus homework. Would get super salty when people walked in late to class or if their phone went off.
If you need a miniscule amount of points to receive those extra .3 GPA points, don't even try. Great teacher but draws a line that is unreasonable. If you're borderline don't even try.
I liked this class lot! To do well you have to go to class and really put in the work. She ended up curving one test and the final for us. She also gave us at least 20 extra credit points, which helped a lot. I went to her office and she was super nice and help outside of class. I would recommend going to her office hours.
Well first of all, she assigns the orions before she even starts teaching the chapter so that's super hard. She's also the rudest teacher I've ever had and is very hard to work with outside of class. If you want to do well, go to class and print out the worksheets. That's the one positive: her methods are helpful and she knows what she's doing.
I personally liked Chenier. Her class wasn't too hard to handle IF you know how to be prepared. She makes you preview for the next class by having you read and do Orion before teaching it. She does a lot of practice problems and answers questions very well. Very helpful professor! Would take again!
If you made above a B with Denstal or Lafleur in 2000, you will pass 2101 easily. Just make sure you do not take Chenier. The notes she gives her class follow nothing in her lectures and she pulls problems from the text book that are irrelevant. Her SI Jacob knows she's a terrible teacher and holds SI's and test reviews which help a ton.
Very difficult person to deal with. Makes us buy the damn book and doesn't do a good job following it. Work hard on the first three test to leave you some cushion for the final
Please, for the love of God do NOT take Chenier. She gets a thrill from being overpowering to her students. She is extremely disrespectful in class and has such a sassy attitude. The only reason why I went to class is for the pop quizzes. She confuses you more than helps you. LSU should deeply consider letting her go. Use this as a warning!!!
She has a bad attitude in class, but this class is tolerable. There are so many things that go into the gradebook, so your grade isn't solely based on exams. She has pop quizzes, so you have to go to class. She gave 10 points of extra credit and curved our final exams. If you put in the time to study, you can make an A in this class.
HORRIBLE attitude! Do all the online homework early because there's a lot! Gives 5 pop quizzes. She gives you notes to print out which helps you follow along in class. Gives practice exams and solutions which help a lot to study for exams. If you can deal with being told how horrible and lazy you are then you will do fine in this class.
Had Chenier during online MBA class. eLecture friendly enough. Homework is very random in content (online). Weekly quiz not well defined grading criteria and no feed back. Exams were hard but attainable except the last one. Chosen book was worst textbook I've ever had.
Crazy ratings. I'm an accountant major & she's incredibly knowledgeable! She gave the same exact amount of homework I had in Acct 2001, 1 assignment from Wiley & Orion for every chapter. She uses TopHat (just like in Acct 2001). This isn't the teacher for slackers who just want to come to class and be on their phones all day. She'll see & be upset.
Not the best teacher whatsoever. Nasty attitude every class. The actual material covered isn't horrible hard, but you still need to work for it. If you have the option, do yourself a favor and take a different teacher. If you do have to take her, it isn't impossible, just not ideal.
Not the best professor I've had at LSU. Lectures are boring and she can be very rude at times. Not her fault, but her subject is also boring and hard to be interested in. The tests aren't easy but there are a bunch of homework assignments to help your grade. There aren't many choices for accounting professors but you can probaby do better.
I recommend taking a different professor. Test are fairly difficult. I recommend attending SI. Homework and Orion due weekly. Grade is computed based 3 exams, homework, Orion, and participation quizzes (weekly clicker questions at the end of lecture). Lectures are horrible btw.
Doesn't allow computers to be used in class when THE ENTIRE COURSE IS ONLINE. Very very easily distracted and can rant on about random things. Very old school and does not relate well. Constantly complains about having 500+ students and spends 15 minutes ranting about how not to email her. cant stand when students don't pay attention. Bad attitude!
No curve, will stop entire class to tell you to put your laptop or phone away. Very difficult popquizzes for attendance.
Quizzes in class every now and then. She gives you notes to fill-in which is very helpful. Sometimes goes off topic. If you know the exam review you will do well on tests.
I love Julie! Some of these comments are nasty, sounds look a bunch of lazy college students who cannot put the phone or laptops away or they will die. Julie have her rules and I mean, its only to better you! When you get a higher level classes you cannot be on your phones. Shes is just preparing you for a successful life! Very credible!!
She talks and writes so fast that it's hard to keep up. Her notes and the way she explains things are also very confusing, so I ended up reading the textbook to teach myself. She goes on rants every other class about people on their phones or laptops
The amount of formulas and concepts that you need to learn for every test is challenging; be ready for that. Her laptop policy is a bit of a burden if you can't keep up with her pace. Homeworks do a lot to raise your grade so be sure to do all of them
Good in printable notes to help you pay attention in class. Easy if you pay attention and practice
lectures are tests are moderately hard but if you go to all classes and reviews you'll most likely do well.
I didn't find that her teaching style was very effective. Despite attending nearly every class, the vast majority of my learning was done at home. She talks down to the class a lot. At first I thought she was just rude/unprofessional, but I think its more that she doesn't think of us as adults. Very reminiscent of a high school teacher.
Prof Chenier was overall a good professor. She did tons of example problems in class and I understood the material well. The problem I had with her, was that she was extremely condescending and rude.
Straight-forward professor. Do your panopto videos, readings, homework practice, self assessment, homework, and if possible, any extra credit, and you will be fine.
Going off the other reviews, she has definitely mellowed out this semester (but I also believe she is retiring), but there's some sass still. Accounting is hard. She absolutely knows her stuff though, and she does do a decent job of teaching the material. Did a lot better in this one than the first acct. 3 tests, chunk of hw, and some extra credit.
I did better in this class when I stopped attending lectures. I think this is the last semester she is doing pop quizzes, so I'm not sure how test heavy the course will be in the coming semesters. If you devote a few days to going over the power points and religiously work out the reviews, you'll be alright. Make sure to do ALL homework assignments
I will say, Chenier can be very rude and go on tangents in class about how mad she is that the class of 150 people isn't answering out loud to her questions. After the first test, I stopped going to class and just read the textbook (sounds terrifying, but actually helps a lot to understand the math formulas). She does curve, but not every test.
She can be annoying at times but she tries really hard to make sure you understand the material. I suggest going to as many classes as you possibly can because that's how I learned the material. We had both adaptive practice and homework due at least once a week. It's a good chunk of the grades.
Professor Chenier does not do a great job at explaining the material, and also makes it difficult to engage in the material because she presents herself as being better than the students. Not getting the vibe that she wants to see us (students) succeed.
Chenier wasn't bad this semester (Fall 2019) because she didn't do attendance or pop-quizzes like she did past semesters. Never went to class. Read textbook and do her practice tests and you'll pass. She also offers extra credit which is helpful.
Goes off on tangents
Shes really not as bad as many people said she was. If you go to class and actually pay attention it makes life easier. She goes over a lot of examples in class which helps you remember formulas. She also gives a lot of valuable real life examples and advice. Shes also gives a few extra credit assignments.
only teacher for course. Her lectures are not helpful, I taught myself the whole course, its not hard material. Homework and Adaptive practices are easy, exams are not hard but definitely have to study to remember the formulas. I ended up never going to class and just using that time to learn on my own. If you dont need the class, dont take
Makes accounting more confusing than it has to be, accounting is really straightforward and not confusing but somehow her lectures made it confusing. the textbook will be your teacher.
Julie is a great teacher, she can just seem a little rough sometimes. No computers or electronics in class. The exams are difficult, but possible. No attendance taken. Study your tail off, and do the practice exams on moodle several times. 2x weekly HW can be time consuming, but it helps your final grade a good bit. Do the extra credit she offers.
Do the homework, because you only have 3 test and the homework which is like a cushion if you do bad. Tests are hard but she's the only professor for this course so you kinda have to deal with her. Pay attention during lectures cause she explains if you don't understand and gives examples.
She's a difficult teacher to listen to. She goes off-topic and talks in a melotone voice. Also, homework is very challenging and the tests are hard. Would not recommend, but during my time, the only teacher to teach the class
She is one of the worst professors on this campus. She does not care for her students and would rather you fail over emailing her. I took this class ONLINE and she was the worst of all. Do not take this sorry excuse of a professor.
She is quite possibly the worst teacher on the face of the Earth
This is the absolute worst professor. Never would advise anyone to enroll in her course. She shows no effort and has no care for student performance or understanding.
What little lecturing she gets done, if she can complete a sentence, is then followed by kindergarden hand writing, which is then blamed on us. She is unresponsive and shows no care for students in emails commonly saying "Do not email me about issues she refuses to handle".
This Professor is horrible. She is all over the place and does not know how to work the computer nor the software used for exam proctoring. She refused to answer emails during the test time, even though many of us had issues with the software. The class I would rate in the negatives if it was possible... class average on the test was below a 50%...
First test average was below 40%. No curve. Its better to learn the material on your own over attending lectures and its hard to do by yourself with math/accounting.
Paying thousands in tuition for her to give attitude for her own mistakes and refusing to respond to any emails regarding upcoming exams
It is very unfortunate how horribly this professor mismanages her class. My last accounting professor used the same website for Homework and even the same organization of the class and did miles better. She was clear about the material, concise, talked to her students, and facilitated learning. Everything Mrs. Chenier is the exact opposite of.
Awful teacher but as of now she's the only accounting professor available for this class. She overcomplicates each subject and is all over the place. I ended up just using the textbook and wileyplus to learn each chapter because she can't get a coherent sentence let alone teach anything related to the material. Tests aren't too awful if ya study
The lack of effort or care is downright unbelievable. She refuses to answer questions. She writes like a 3 year old. She uses confusing examples. She overcomplicates everything. She does not work with you, rather it seems she is working against you. She is unfir for her job and I would not wish this class on anyone. I feel sorry for my classmates.
I never looked at lectures. If you just read the textbook chapters by yourself before the test, you will do better than going to lecture. Only gives one problem for homework, which is good. You can find the help to solve it easily online. She also lets you bring a one-page sheet that you can make into the test, which is also great. Not a bad class
Chenier is the worst professor I have had so far at LSU. Her unwillingness to answer questions during her zoom lectures and just general disdain towards her students is honestly appalling. The material is not too difficult, but I do think the tests are harder than they need to be especially with how difficult learning is right now. Do not take her.
Unprepared from the get go. Did not have what she needed ready for Zoom lectures. Does not answer questions in lecture. Accuses students of cheating when a cheat sheet was allowed. Does not properly prepare you for the tests. Did all my learning by myself from WileyPlus.
Never answers questions even though she encourages students to ask them. Over complicates every single part of every chapter. Makes us pay money to take the tests, even though we pay thousands for tuition every semester. If you are struggling with a specific topic good luck trying to get her to explain it to you because she will only criticize you.
Prof Julie isn't the best teacher for accounting, especially with everything going on right now. Didn't answer questions during lectures/said dont ask these questions. Often busy with other things (mainly emails) during lectures. Gave homework that barely was on the test. Lectures were practically useless when it came time to take tests. Not fun.
Dry lectures from a few years ago. Weekly quiz with two test. Test were tough but followed the quizzes pretty well. Textbook is kind of all over the place so finding the correct info could be tough.
Honestly shes not as bad as other people make it seem like she is. I didnt go to any of her lectures all semester. I just read the book. She lets you bring in a cheat sheet to all exams. No adaptive practices for grades and her homework is only 5 questions max. Super easy if you are actually a good student and are willing to read the textbook
I would be banned from rate my professor if I typed everything negative I want to say about this woman. She is the product of pure anger and incompetence assigned to teach the worst subject at LSU: managerial accounting. I stopped going to lecture because I would leave more confused than when I arrived. I want LSU to ban this woman from campus.
Lectures are awful and she doesnt explain concepts well at all. Other than that the class is very straight forward and the material isnt that difficult. She posts additional powerpoints that she doesnt use on moodle. Use that combined with the text book and you should end up okay. Cheat sheets for all exams!
Honestly didn't think she was that bad. Lectures aren't amazing, so you're probably better off just reviewing each chapters notes she puts on Moodle. Didn't go to zoom so had very little interaction with her, but one time I had an issue with ProctorU during a test, she was very responsive and had it fixed in minutes. Also gave multiple E.C chances
She can come across as very harsh, but once you get used to it she isn't as bad as people make her out to be. If you actually attend class she is good at lecturing and actually wants students to learn. We went over several problems from the book together which helped. Go to class and read the textbook. Not an easy A, but it is possible.
