smart teacher, nice, do more work for a better grade
did almost nothing and got a c in this class. an a would not be hard you just have to do a little work. very nice laddy, i learned a lot. and most importantly she is hot!

Need to do an extra assignment to get an A. Very easy class, attendance doesn't matter, tests are strictly from the study guide. As long as you have the study guide done you'll get a B. Very interesting lectures but she gets flustered very easily

easy enough to pass but it annoyed me that u could get 100% on all tests & quizes and only get a B+ max. to get an A u need to do the research papers & have 90% of the points on them.take her if ur ok with doing excellent work & only getting a B.
Teacher babbles all day long. most of her examples are related to sexual topics, or cheating spouses/boy/girlfriend... You need to work extra (research paper) to get an A. tests are easy (study guide) but you won't learn much
Very friendly and personable. Her class was interesting and its not really that hard. Most of the work is done at home. You have to do a research project if you want an A, but getting a B is pretty easy. She's very nice though.
She is one of the best teachers. Its not that hard to get an A actually because she really helps you in the reasearch papers and if you have trouble, she is always there to help. She doesn't grade that hard also and her tests are pretty simple; most of it is from lecture and you don't need the book.

Julie is awesome. I like the way she includes the class in her lectures. By doing this, she brings life into the room. She is very nice and a great instructor. I recommend her very much.
Avoid this teacher. She talks all the time and gets upset alot. You can get 100% on tests but a B in the class because of her dumb grading.
I TOOK HER SUMMER CLASS AND IT WAS NOT GOOD. SHE DOESN'T LIKE TO USE A BOOK FOR THE CLASS BECAUSE SHE KNOWS MORE THAN EVERYONE. ANNOYED IS HOW I FELT I HAD TO STAY IN THE CLASS. Awesome teacher. To get an A requires alot of work though but it is do-able.
She tries to make lectures interesting, but will get down to the point if the class is confused. She's pretty funny & the class is pretty simple.
she lets you determine your grade, and give different tests to different people, if you want an A you have to work harder write extra essays and extra credit, B's are average , and C's have the least work, kinda wierd grading.

I loved Julie...thought she was a great teacher. She even gave me and my husband a wedding gift (we were both her students). Still think fondly of her.
I really wanted to learn psych but she is so strange and acted like we had to tell her our secrets in class. I didn't want therapy, especially from her. Avoid her class, she's wierd and her grading is so complicated she can change it all the time. BAD CLASS

I like the class. She allows you to decide whether you want to try for an A or not (aka do extra work). It's nice, so your time isn't wasted on something you don't want to do. She tries to make sure most off us understand, depsite us being a large class. At least we have 3 tutors to help for the clas. I love her & the class!

this class was great. course is put together very well.. its simple, beneficial and memorable. tests make your grade, n theyre easy n she gives you the ?'s to study. shes real good. shes not bothered with people not liking her, she teaches as good as it can get, but some students just dont see it. shes almost 2 bright, kinda like a 1000wat HID lite
She is a very nice lady, I give you that, but in my opinion she is an awful teacher. She is very random and goes on tangents all the time. If you like a straightforward teacher THIS IS NOT THE ONE! Likes to talk about student's problems more than the course material. Reminds me of a kindergarden teacher at times, not reccomended!

seemed very nice. sum people told me she didnt make sense sometime, but to me it was really clear! she explained in a shortr & more simple way than the book. & it seemed that she EVEN cared for people that would eventually & definitely drop her class, by "tellin" em do so before they would get a 'w' or, within their own minds, waste their time
She is a great person but she can go off on random tangents and is all ove rthe place at times. But she is usually good at making theories make sense. She is tuff though, so you do need to know your stuff.

She knows what she's talking about, very knowledgable, might be hard to understand what point she's trying to make, goes on tangents (Usually boring though) Once we started getting into the more advanced stuff she really got a chance to show everyone just how much there was to learn on the subject and how interesting the field is.

I was really looking forward to this class until I discovered how totally scatter brained and disorganized it turned out to be. Julie would digress off into useless tangents that would have no significant relevance to the subject, as the idiots of the class urged it on. There seems to be no organization whatsoever! Very frustrating class
*Winter Session* She is all over the place with her notes but she spends as much time as needed covering the material. Minor reading was needed but it was fairly short and the book's easy. Even if you don't like her style, if you pay attention you'll be fine.
Overall, great teacher. She does goes off the subject a bit, but if you pay close attention to what she's saying, it all relates. The test are on what she lectures and the assigned reading, so there's never any surprises. She is more then happy to help you during, and after class - about anything. Good note-taking skills help.
She's a nice woman, don't get me wrong. She just doesn't need to be a teacher. She's all over the map when it comes to lecturing, and can't administer a test without changing questions in the middle of the exam. Consider taking someone else....
Her psy 101 class was easy, and she was very interesting.
I dont think she ever showed up to class prepared. She often asked to see students notes for she could remember what lectured about.There were 4 mc test and before each one a lecture which pissed a lot of people off. Also a lot of extra credit.

Took the summer class, and it was borrrrrrrring. very unorganized , and she goes off topic, and her test are hard, almost nothing from her lecture all from her practice test. U gotta work hard to get a good grade
She is very...spacy.She is a good teacher but doesn't really seem like shes there most of the time. Lectures didn't really go with anything.Class work was not so relevant.But I will say it was an easy A. Tests are hard; although you don't really do anything....(?) Don't know why that is.
She's cool teacher, sometimes fun. She tells many stories about her friends relating to psychology. It's important to read the book and do the study guides. Tests are not easy, but if you study it's not hard to get an A or B.

THIS CLASS WAS REALLY HARD. SHE ISNT CRYSTAL CLEAR IN LECTURE BUT I WOULDNT SAY HER LECTURE MATERIAL ISNT ON THE EXAMS. THE TESTS ARE VERY HARD AND YOU REALLY NEED TO GET THE BOOK AND READ ALL OF THE ASSIGNMENTS AND ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS IN THE STUDY GUIDE.

Dr. Felender is simply phenomenal To succeed in her class you must do the reading and have sharp note taking skills. Though she goes off on tangents quite often pay close attention and all of what she talks about is relevant to the subject matter. However, if Psych is definitely not your field, don't bother. GREAT CLASS AND PROF FOR PSYCH MAJORS!
This professor rules...one of the best psych professors...but only take her if you like working hard and reading. Other than that take her she's fun!
She's an easy teacher if you do your study guides. All the questions that are on the test are on the study guides. There is no reason to get anything lower than a B if you do the study guides.
Good Class
Dr. Felender is nice enough, but she's completely unorganized and spends the majority of class going off on tangents. If you prefer a class with consistency and structure, don't take this class. If you're not an independent learner, don't take this class. And if you want to take away concrete knowledge about psychology, don't take this class.
Is NEVER on topic!!! Took her for Winter Intersession, 8 hrs/day for 8 days. I only took about 4 pages of notes total because she was never talking about Psychology. Class is not mandatory,but if you dont go you wont know whats going on or the assignments because she doesnt stick to the syllabus. She changes her mind alot about whats due, and she makes up grading as she goes along. As a FC and UCLA graduate,I remember Felender's class as being one of the best.For those entering the college, you have to learn to independently read assigned texts. Felender simply did not regurgitate info from books, but made it fascinating by sharing her own experieces: intellectual inquiry is often messy, but rewarding. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!

Lectures extreemly unorganized, makes up what she is going to say on the spot. Random. The tests are easy, almost exactly like the study guide. If you come to class everyday, and keep up on the readings you will have no problem...class participation helps you understand too. Dr. Felender is an amazing teacher. Somewhat disorganized, but she covers the main points of each chapter in turn and speaks in a way that is absorbing and understandable. She is playful and witty and always approachable. Genuinely passionate about this subject, and wholeheartedly encourages her students to grow and make a difference in the world.

Julie is a very fun teacher to take. She can be scatterbrained at times but she is very helpful if you are confused at all. I took the excellerated class and she taught the whole time. I also took her for 101 and loved her, but make sure you read the book to do well on the tests.

This class is super easy! Just come and listen to lecture. The study guides she gives out are basically the tests. She's very fair and there are a couple extra credit opportunities toward the end, but those aren't even necessary. Take this class its interesting and easy.
I absolutely loved her! Her lectures are very interesting. ALL you really need to do is review the study guides because they are BASICALLY the tests. I suggest to go to the study sessions also. If you're looking for an easy A..take this class. Those who received bad grades were the ones who did not study..not because she was horrible at teaching.

Interesting class, engaging teacher! Took the 8 week long course, and it wasn't a chore (too bad) waking up every Saturday. haha. The tests are ALL essay, make sure you outline and practice beforehand, as she is a stickler for details. She's great! Not an easy class, do the work! (The only thing weird is how she bounces around in the txbk.)
dr. felender is very smart and genuine person. She talks about things that can help us improve our life. like loving ourselves no matter what. If you do your study guides... trust that its 80% of the test. She doesn't give homework. And she's just great at doing her job!!!
honestly she is one of the nicest teachers i know. she makes things very understandable and if there is ever a misunderstanding she will go out of her way to make it as clear as possible i have never enjoyed a class as much as i have enjoyed this one. just listen and pay attention and you will not be disapointed
this was such a boring and useless class. grade based on 3 midterms and a final (mostly m.c. with a little short response). There's an EC assignment and a make-up test in case you miss a test or do poorly on one. she's a charming lecturer, but kind of cold and listless when approached one-on-one. take for an easy 'A' and a good place to nap.

Dr. Felender is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had! she knows her subject and teaches it the way she thinks it should be taught. She's sometimes a bit confusing in class but if your not afraid to ask questions she's very helpful. She loves participation and will try to help you as much as she can with understanding the material
I have since received my degree, and Julie Felender was by FAR the WORST teacher I ever had! She rambled on about nothing, focused way too much on her word CHOICE rather than WHAT she was teaching. I learned more from her sub in 1 DAY than i did from her EVER. One day her class was so bad over 50 ppl just walked out in the middle of her lecture!
Immature professor. Gets upset when people leave early even though its our choice to be there or not. Has test questions on things that aren't even in the book. Very slow at teaching and goes off topic way to often.
For being an honoros prof, I would have expected a lot more from her. She is very unorganized and oblivious to what is going on each class. Her test questions have answers that can have multiple answers but she only accepts what she believes in. Honestly, I regret taking her.

One of my best professors! Loved the class, teaches well, detailed reviews, study groups b4 each exam and final(make sure you attend), all exams are of content taught and reviewed.Pay close attention in class and note when she says "remember that or highlight that". Take detailed notes and study all reviews. I would highly recommended!
The class was not easy. Make sure you read the textbook&understand the definitions prior class. She is not very organized&explains concepts only in first person, for example: "it is when i feel..." Its impossible to get an A on inclass assignments. Assignments are worth as much as exams, which is a very different approach to teaching.

She is an awesome teacher. Most of these reviews are good if you look through them. The students who are giving her bad reviews probably do not like teachers who teach. She is very helpful and does go off on stories but all the stories pertain to the subject. If you want to learn she is great..if you want to sit and do nothing then dont take her.

I think she is a wonderful teacher! She does go off tangents but it is always relevant. It you want a teacher who is going to spoon feed you then DONT take her. This is college people!! You do have to read to finish the study guides becasue her tests ask material from both lectures and the book. But the book is easyto comprehend.

Honestly, i don't know why she is getting such low ratings. She is a nice teacher, yes she has off tangents but its not like its detrimental to your grade, and she teaches the subject. She knows what she is saying and teaches exactly that to us. I took her summer school class as a sophomore got an A. just study!+she basically gives us all the info.

Don't get me wrong, she's a great teacher BUT her directions are hard to follow, the presentation was wayyy too much work for a summer project, & she changes her mind at the last minute. She even cancelled class a few hours before a test. For the final, class started at 6:30p.m. & the entire class was still working on it at 11p.m.! INSANE.
Really enjoyed her class. Sure, she can change her mind at the last minute but she works with her students in every way possible to help them succeed. I would take her again.
4 tests including final. Drops one. No quizes. No hw. The study guide for the tests are an exact replica of the test (only the questions are out of order) I dont wanna sound mean but if you do not pass this class with at least a B then maybe college is not for you. EASIEST A EVER!
She has cancelled class like 5 times & we have to pay for it by rushing and cramming exams/lecture into too short of a time. Her organization is terrible, she is all over the place when she lectures..constantly jumping from one topic to the next. Use the study guides and study ALL old material before every test too. Felender is a good teacher, she is absent a lot but she makes it up by supplying her students with a great study guide. All you have to do to pass her class is to read all the assignments so that you will understand what she is talking about in class. Then complete the study guides and most importantly go to the study sessions.

People that say that Dr. Felender's class is hard those people should not be in college. To pass this class with an A is to do as much extra credit assignments possible, then do all the assigned reading, then complete all study guides and most importantly go to all the study sessions so that you can verify if your answers are correct. Not a super easy class, just do the review sheets. do many extra credits as possible! Listen to her lecture well!!! i took the saturday class.. and it was fun... As long as you do your work like a college student should. you will get an A like i did!
Felender moves way too fast in her lectures. Her class has absolutely no structure at all. It's very unorganized and hard to follow. This is my 2nd time taking Psychology 101 and I must say in terms of structure, Mary Ann Larson's class was much better even though I received a D.
At this point, her extra credit opportunities seem pointless. 2 extra credit points for showing up to the study sessions (which are really helpful) and a minuscule 6 points for a 700 word response to 2 videos. The extra credit is pointless... to pass the class just read the book, do the study guide (+ go to the study sessions), and make flashcards!

Very good teacher. She really goes above and beyond the expectations of a teacher. There is no reason why you shouldn't get an A in her class. My only complain with Dr. Felender is that she's all over the place. She admits to having ADHD which is evident in her teachings. Overall excellent teacher, you'll learn a lot.

I LOVE professor Felender, she is AMAZING! i passed her class with ease. i love listening to her lectures and she is so willing and encouraging of student interaction. i wish she taught more psych courses!if you don't come to class or read the book, just drop, you won't pass. it's all tests& quizzes, some EC.
Ms. Felender really wants her students to succeed. If you need the extra help, ask her! She's more than willing to help you understand the material. You NEED to read the book, if you don't you WON'T pass the class. The class is all tests, quizzes, and a handful of extra cred opportunities. She has the most AMAZING study guides!

Enjoyed psychology very much. She is funny, I learned interesting things that should help me in life, and it was a good use of my Summer :P
Lectures were pretty much useless since she always seemed to go off topic. Just do your study guides and then go over them with her. Not only does she give you E.C. for this but she will tell you exactly what she wants. WARNING: She is VERY nit picky about your wording. Make sure you know EXACTLY how she wants things to be.
very disorganized and scatter-brained. to pass the class you just need to read and DO THE STUDY GUIDES - can't stress that enough. they're not mandatory but possible extra credit. best part about her is that she gives out extra points like its candy.
She is awesome. You learn mostly everything in her lectures and class notes. Text book was not necessary, I got a good grade without one. Take her.
Dr. Felender was my fav prof this semester. I changed my major to psych 'cuz of her. Amazing, interesting, and interactive lectures. Compassionate and helpful. Lots of EC, drops bad test/quiz scores, and adds freebie points to most. No HW or CW. Read the book + take lecture notes + study before quizzes/tests and you'll pass with flying colors.
I really enjoyed taking her class. It is definitely not an easy class, but if you are willing to do the work, and you are interested in increasing your knowledge of psychology, this class can be a lot of fun. Dr. Felender is one of the best instructors I have taken a class with.
She was super helpful. Lectures seem a little unorganized, but she writes all the important stuff on the board so just copy it. DO THE STUDY GUIDES. Also, check your answers with her during office hours. That's the key to doing well. She reuses the same questions and concepts. Everything is cumulative.
This teacher is a little frazzled and disorganized, but wants her students to succeed. If you do the study guides and read your textbook, you will get a good grade. If you are a serious student, you will learn from this class and it will be a good challenge for you. take notes, attend class and DO THE STUDY GUIDES and you can pass.
I tutor for her class and she no longer does study guides but she has added more extra credit opportunities for her students.
She is actually very unorganized and goes off topic a lot. Like others have said, she asks the class if she already went over a certain topic. But go to her office hours and review previous tests. The book and lectures didn't really help. You'll easily pass with an A if you look at the tests and do the extra credit

Though her lectures can drag, it's important to try to go to every class. She throws in little anecdotes and information that isn't offered in the book, and then asks about it on her tests. Though she can be a little scatterbrained in her lecturing style, just be sure to pay attention and READ the assigned reading, and you'll do fine.
Dr Felender is an extremely knowledgeable professor with thought-provoking lectures. She does a good job of relating the concepts to real life situations and gives great examples. She is helpful and really cares for her students. She actually made time to help me even when I couldn't meet during her regular office hours! Highly recommend her class!
Gives study guides for all tests, a lot of opportunities for extra credit, NO POP QUIZZES! Also, gives really good examples to everything until everyone understands
Professor Felender is an incredibly sweet and, quite honestly, frazzled person. She cares a lot about her classes and is always there for her students, however, she tends to overcomplicate the subject material during her lectures, and will most likely cancel class more than once (she is ill a lot). Honors Psych includes a paper and presentation.
Amazing Professor. Very entertaining, very helpful and she has tutors. Large class. She's willing to meet with you for questions and torturing. She'll give you extra credit the first time you may with her. Very fair grading scale.
The material is simple enough to understand. Her lecture is mostly all you need to pass the test but if you didn't read the textbook don't expect to pass the quizzes. Her teaching style is easy to follow and fun to listen to. She adds everyday examples to make it more enjoyable. She does get a little sidetracked every now and then but it's all good
This class wasn't what I expected the material is very interesting because psychology is an interesting subject in general but the professor was not the best. Grading scale was really unclear many students thought they were doing going based on the scale but ended up with a completely different grade. Lectures are unclear and unorganized.
Felender is a really nice lady, but is also a very frazzled professor. Her lectures almost always get off topic and sometimes she doesn't even cover everything she's supposed to so she blames the students.
She is absolutely amazing. Yes her lectures are a bit long, but just pay attention and you'll be good. And apply good review skills to really succeed in this class. Shes the kindest, sweetest professor out there. A true gem of Fullerton College. Definitely would take her again.
Felender is such a frazzled professor. She always goes off topic and teaches stuff that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the class, I got an over all B for my final grade and that's because I took the time to read every single chapter on my own, he lectures are useless :(
Great professor!! Most of the tests and quizzes were taken on lectures in class with some portions from the book. Tests and quizzes are simple if you follow along. Her lectures are interesting. Would definitely take one of her classes again. Pay attention during lessons and you will be fine. Also, no homework and rare group work!
Prof. Felender is really interested in psychology and it shows when she teaches. The class was an easy A. The lectures were funny and you learn some cool, interesting things. The tests are cumulative but they are fairly easy.
Definitely a great teacher! Content was interesting that I did not mind it being a Monday class from 5-10pm. She wants you to succeed in that class that she had a teachers aid during my semester, and every Monday before a test she would email all the students to meet on campus if they wanted to for a study session. That helped for sure.
Great teacher! The notes were very helpful and she explains everything thoroughly and if you have a question, she'll answer it. Overall, I enjoyed the class.
Never taking this professor again
This class isn't really all that bad. Staying at school until 10 pm sucks a lot though. Just visit her during office hours and figure out early on how to word things correctly. She's a bit picky.
Lectures are good and tests are easy if you read the book at least two times before. A little bit of extra credit offered.
Dr. Felender is wonderful! She's passionate about psychology and quite knowledgeable. No pop quizzes and LOTS of extra credit opportunities. Her lectures (powerpoint) are really interesting and easy to follow. Tests are super easy if you pay attention and do the study guide. Questions are based on application of concepts (pretty much common sense)
Most of the material that she quizzes is from the book and her tests take info from the text and lectures. She's a good professor, but if you don't read, you might not do so well. She offers a decent amount of extra credit and assigned one homework assignment.
Very nice person in general but she tends to jump from one topic to another, and the lectures aren't always on topic. Reading the book is mandatory, you will barely pass otherwise. If you are going to take her class, good luck and god speed.
She doesn't really go in depth with psychology, more just some things and will tell people stories about her experiences, which is actually on the tests. if you don't read or have any prior knowledge of psych and this is your 1st psych course, you will struggle. her tests are normal and she gives extra credit constantly
This was a very tough class for me and I struggled with understanding the material that she presented during class. Going over the study guides and reading the textbook are necessary to passing this class. If you dont read the textbook you wont do well. Also each test was cumulative with questions from old tests so it requires a lot of studying!
i personally loved taking this class, i looked forward to her class all week. her lectures were great, she added a few personal stories into the lectures which really helped me understand what was happening. we had one assignment all semester, and the rest was tests so i didnt do too well in this class, but as a professor, she was amazing
The class is basically 2 assignments, 3 tests, 3 quizzes and the final. It might seem like a lot but they are never back to back and they aren't that difficult. The study guides help a lot. I would recommend to sit in the second or third rows. Plus, she never forces anyone to participate for all the shy people out there. She's honestly great!
Loved Dr. Felender! Took her course over the summer (you should note that she told us people were more likely to do better in her class overall if you took her summer course). It was a large class with over 80 kids but she was kind to be as inclusive and interactive as she could with us all. Good lectures, easy to understand. Read the textbook!
I chose the honors course because I took psychology in high school and this is my major anyway. I kind of regret taking her. I hate saying it because she is such a sweet and caring person, but she's extremely picky, her lectures are very oversimplified and sometimes incomplete. Her tests are very simple though and she offers lots extra credit.
First of, Felender is a sweet and nice prof. However, her lectures about psychology are ALL based off her experiences and opinions rather than off the book. The book does not really help, for her study guides are practically based on her lectures. Also, as a student with integrity and top of class in high school, she grades far too harsh.
SHE PUT HER PART AS A PROFFESOR AND LECTURES. BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO YOUR OWN READING/STUDY. IF YOU HAVE AN QUESTIONS SHES THERE FAST AT REPLYING. RECOMMEND TAKING HER CLASS. 4 TEST, 2QUIZES, 1 PAPER.
She is very friendly and isnt a tough grader. She doesnt make homework assignments hard all you have to do to prepare for tests is do easy study guides. I would definitely not mind taking a class with her again.
She was a great professor. Take advantage of office hours. She is very caring and will help if you ask. Read read read! Trust me on this. Reading the textbook and completing her study guides will help SO MUCH on exams. She only has 2 assignments so make sure to do them on time.
i took this class for credit and first off she hardly lectures on actual psychology. 90% of the class is her personal experiences and life stories. So you might as well not go to class and read the book. She lost one of my tests and told me she would replace it with my highest test instead of letting me retake it. So wrong. Ended up dropping.
Professor Felender is full of enthusiasm, respectful of questions, and treasures her students opinions. She always ask for us to close our eyes whenever she wanted to know who needs more explanation to encourage those who were shy to raise their hands :) For academic opinions, make sure to do her study guide and study study STUDY FOR THEM EXAMS
Class seemed ok at the start, but turned into a disorganized, rushed mess at the very end. Incoherent and unrelated lectures about her life experiences. Easy A or B, but would not recommend to anyone passionate or pursuing psychology as a major. Easy grader and offered up to almost 10% of entire grade as extra credit.
In my experience with Dr. Felender, I believe she made it exceedingly clear how to succeed in her class. She spells out exactly what you need to know, has tons of resources on canvas, is accessible via email/office hours, etc. This class SHOULD be an easy A. Listen during lecture & DO THE STUDY GUIDES! Everything you will find on tests is on those.
Professor Felender genuinely cares about her students. She provides office hours for anyone who needs help outside of class. She goes off topic and talks about her personal life a lot. Her class is an easy A. If you study her lecture notes and read the chapters I doubt that you wont pass. Only 1 homework assignment, 3 exams, 2 quizzes and 1 final.
She can be all over the place, tells a lot of her experiences. She knows her stuff and makes sure everyone is comfortable and lets some walk out if they become uncomfortable. Just make sure you take advantage of your textbook, her study guides (the only reason I passed, not any credit but helps on the tests), and her 15 pt extra credit.
The lectures feel like an eternity. She goes on and on about her personal life and stories. She lost two of my tests and said she would take care of it and never did and accused me of not taking one. I wouldn't recommend!
Had her for my last semester at FJC & during COVID. In person she is a mess. Jumps from idea to idea and forgets where she left off. She can be rude/very straight forward. She uploads SO MANY study guides it's ridiculous. Or maybe it was b/c of the pandemic. There was only 1/2 hmwk assignments. Mostly quizzes & tests which are multiple choice.
Was in psych 101 and was really frustrated with the prof., our class started off in person, but then changed to online. Would not recommend unless taking online only. She strays off from topics a lot and forgets where she was going with things. Goes on rants and lets students waste time with irrelevant questions that don't really pertain to class.
give good lectures but a lot of times going off topic. consumes alot of times for tangent stories and wasn't able to catch up with planned lessons. big research paper where she's realli nitpicking on word choice and take points off even if it's a few unintentionally match one of a whole bunch that you have to read.
Im currently taking her for general psych and shes okay as a prof. I think shes a lovely person and has a sweet personality though. I can tell how passionate she really is about psych. However, I do think her study guides are a bit excessive. Be prepared to read many articles, watch many videos, and read a good portion of the textbook.
Her teaching style took a bit to get used to. There's LOTS of material, BUT listen to ALL lectures and do all the review Qs. She truly wants everyone to do well & LEARN. If you put in time, the class can be easy & engaging. She repeats a lot of important topics so you kind of can't forget. The key is to do everything she says and not fall behind.
Professor Felender is nice and definitely cares about class feedback. The biggest problem was the lack of clear and simple instruction. Any assignment given had way too much info and it was hard to get a simple layout of the important components of the assignment. She gave a quiz a week with a helpful study guide. Still, an insightful professor.
It takes a bit to get used to her directions, overall though her feedback/validation kept me going. Small quizzes almost every week, all based on her study guides. Her tests are heavily based on the study guide, and having a study group really helps. She cares for her students and replies to emails very quickly if you have any questions.
I had her this fall, and I always felt stressed when doing the work. I also had her online so she would post weekly modules, which had a lot of lecture! She does post directions for assignments and the chapter but sometimes it can be confusing because she always puts them everywhere. We had weekly quizzes, 3 tests, and some discussion boards.
Professor Felender tries to be extremely understanding but the class itself is quite confusing. Lot's of heavy lectures, quizzes every week, and is an extremely hard grader. The content is easy but she makes the class more difficult than it needs to be. Also changes quizzes last minute without a heads up. Good person, not so good professor.
This Professor does not understand that her assigned role is to inform and inspire. Memorizing is more important than learning content. Her grading criteria is unnecessarily difficult. Im taking multiple law classes of much higher caliber that are incredibly easier to learn from.
She is a very tough grader when it comes to discussion boards, you have to be very specific with everything you turn in because if the answer is a little too vague she might try to question your answer and mark you incorrect even if you had the right idea, If you take this class I suggest that you are ready to work extremely hard for your Grade.
When taking this class make sure you do your study guides or you will not pass. She is a very tough grader and doesn't give extra credit. She answers emails quickly but if you are trying to retake a quiz the best you can get is a C but its replaced with a different test. Do not skip on doing your study guides, you have to in order to pass.
This course was confusing. Tons of busy work w/o learing much. Emphasizes that study guides get done but most of the material on the study guide is not on the test. She changes tests at the last minute. Any make up work you can't get higher than a C. Tough grader. Answers your questions with questions. Maybe a smaller class size is better for her
She is super confusing. She makes her assignments harder than it has to be, everything is a three step process. Make sure to read instructions very throughly because if you miss one part then there goes half your grade. Do the study guides. Stay on top of the quizzes and check assignments everyday because she will surprise you.
the way her modules work aren't like a traditional professor has them. it is so confusing, in my eyes it makes her unorganized. I wish I could have taken a different professor who was more organized but unfortunately I couldn't. take anybody else in my opinion.
Modules are very unorganized. She provides study guides for her test and none of the study guide material is not on the test. Study guide is like 50 questions while the test is like 10. Tests due at 10pm on random days. She is very rude in her emails and when asked for helps blames it on you. She is a very slow grader.
I took this class as an online course. None of the material on the study guides she has provided in the modules match the questions on her tests. Please save yourself the stress and do not take psychology with Felender. Her instructions are so vague and at that point you'll be emailing her every week asking if she can explain her assignments better
