She gives a lot of work but she's helpful and makes the class go by fast. She's a lot of fun and you become a really good writer by the time your done with her class.
This is the best teachers i have ever taken. She gives a lot of work but its worth it. She will change your life and the way you write.
julie is a GREAT teacher. she warns you from day one, you WILL have a lot of work... but if you keep up with the readings she makes it SO easy. she's SUPER helpful..great teacher who really wants to see her students succeed... can't say enough good things about her. take her, she's awesome.
Ms. Gamberg is an amazing professor, she is very very helpful and is really great on one on one helping, makes everything crystal clear. teaches GREAT essay writing strategies and stories you read in her class are pretty interesting.. she is a sweetheart ! i highly recommend her.
She's an extremely fair teacher. She tries really hard to give the best for her students. Although i think she hates me for no reason shes always very helpful and fair in assignments.
K specifically for the person who was two ratings below me, your crazy. It was a very difficult teacher, but only because of the workload. She grades very fairly, and this is the first time in years I actually learned something in an English class.Don't take this class if you want an ez A. But if you actually want to learn, shes an awesome teacher.
Ms. Gamberg is the best professor I ever had!! For the post a few down I know who it is. We had 2 guys in our class who had no books & just goofed off. I thought Ms. Gamberg dealt with it well, just trying to motivate them and still keep the class going. Just read ALL of her reviews before you decide. She is tough but she changed my life for real.
Don't listen to those lazy students. Come to class, engage and do your work. ANYTHING YOU WOULD REGULARLY DO IN A CLASS. And you will LEARN. I have gained a better sense of how to analyze people and their words and arguments. Invaluable information I tell you. It's not an easy A, but it's worth it. Their weak arguments are excuses for being lazy!
this teacher is cool.. but so many problems in this class. its not about laziness or just not doing the work at all... its about her... im still enrolled in her class and and i would be satisfied with a C. she provides so much homework and assignments that she thinks her class is the only class your taking. avoid if ur a full time student.
If you are looking for a Easy class for keeping ur GPA high, then dont take her class, Too much homework, you need to participate in classes, group projects, essays, quizes,,,
this teacher is very hard but at the end it completely pays off thats if ur willing to try to succeed in this class
k i have to admit i had a crush on her but shes a mom so thats sick i know. but more importantly she really did push me. class is HARD. but i learned how to think. really think for 1st time in my life. there is no teacher like her in the world. she is SO SMART and cares and will make u 100 times smarter. will change ur life.
She's a difficult teacher, and has quizzes every class to make sure you come. But it's only for the better. For the first time in my life, I learned lots of new information. She is very willing to help with anything you need. Those who rate her low and give lame excuses are lazy. This is college. A higher level of thinking and that's what she offer
I really love English but I didn't really enjoy this class. Class participation counts a lot for class discussions. The reading is a bit difficult, about 3 essays you have to do. Also a group project that counts a lot. You need to read all hw given or class discussion will be difficult. Be prepared to dedicate extra time for this class.
Prof Gamberg is by far one of the best teachers at GCC. The class is not that hard. If you stay on top of your work and complete essays on time then you should be fine. She doesnt really give out tests. I learned a lot when it came to working in groups. Gamberg is very educated and it shows through her teaching (:
Ms. Gamberg is a great teacher. She was the first teacher that I had after being away from school for a while. She assigned a lot of reading and homework, but she graded essays extremely fair. She makes the class interesting and is always willing to help.
beautiful and nice teacher just pay attention VERY FAIR if you treat life fair then its going to be fair to you. I surely learned something
This class is easy as long as you pay attention and do your work. we did about 7 essays and all of them were in class essays that were submitted onto turnitin.com after. Gamberg is also very nice and I'm glad I took her (:
Professor Gamberg was a straight forward professor, and although i feel like i didnt learn anything, i pass the class with a C due to my knowledge of essay taking. She was a pretty good teacher and im glad she was my first english professor.
Prof. Gamberg is very kind, helpful, and caring. However, there was way too much homework- I felt like I needed to be taking that class alone in order to do well. Also daily groupwork, many class discussions
I thought that Julie was a great teacher. I do agree with the others about having a lot of homework, but its set forth in the syllabus so you know whats due and you have a week to do it. Grades very fairly. Although her teaching techniques are a little strange(had the class sit in a circle w/ name tags), I still enjoyed this class and am taking 104
I loved having her as a professor. She's very nice but does give a lot of homework. I passed with an A. She's big on getting into groups so you can get an idea of how your peers are doing. She goes over homework every class visit and helps you if you have any questions.
Wonderful teacher! For sure take her for any English class you can get. Not an easy A but I still got an A you just have to do your homework and work hard on your essays and you are good!
She is very interested in the way the brain learns&tries to tie it into class. Gets annoyed when asked a lot of questions. Big on essays&completing hw. She tries to reach out but doesnt help much. She teaches from the textbook nothing from her own. You can skip class&still know what happens if you have the book. She still wants ppl to attend class.
AWESOME PROF!!! Take it from an English major. Go to office hours. She will help you so much there! If you have confused face she will make you go! Lots of free handouts on her website and she makes a traffic sign one which perfectly explains writing. A lot of work but she keeps it interesting. You will learn which is the point! THE BEST!!!
She is an extraordinary professor. From the first day of class, my enthusiasm for learning was uplifted by her cheerful teaching methods and her kind and friendly attitude towards her students. It was truly a pleasure taking her class. Highly recommend.
Best Prof EVER!!! I took her fall and her class blew my mind! PROS: 1. Explains to your learning style and wont give up until you get it. 2. Funny and SMART!! 3. Fair and very clear. CONS: 1. Requires attendance. 2. LOTS of essays! 3. LOTS of homework! BUT OVERALL, WORTH IT!!! I'm so impressed!!! I mean it!
If you're writing doesn't get tons better, that's on you because you will learn everything in this class about thinking and writing. Ms. Gamberg is funny, nice, and helpful; moreover, it shows she is super smart but she also breaks it down very well.
Her feedback regarding essays are simply rude and unhelpful. Instead of correcting your mistakes, she judges your opinions and thoughts harshly. She treats her students as if they're children...
The best prof I've ever taken. If you keep up with the work you'll definitely learn. She makes the topics interesting. I felt like a "scholar" which was cool.
if you don't really care don't take this class. this prof is the standard by which all profs should be rated. but she works way too hard for students who don't really care and just want an easy grade. if you do care you I imagine you would feel the same as me. that this is the educational high point of your life. just trust me, she is that good.
Ms. Gamberg knows her stuff. If you pay attention and engage, you will too. I see comments about too much homework, but there is no Eng-101 that doesn't require a healthy amount of work, and this homework is easy and absolutely relevant. She's passionate and wants her students to learn. I hope I get to take her again.
When I first registered, I expected the average mind numbing, dumbed down English class, but I was in for a wondrous surprise! She is: Caring, Wise, Very Helpful, Creative, and Super Interesting! Guaranteed you will stay awake, fall in love with English, improve your writing, learn about yourself & the world, and learn how to think. A++ for Prof G
This is going to sound weird but Professor Gamberg really changed my life. Thank You. You made me a better person. A better husband, father, and employee, less prejudiced, and a better thinker. Yes there is a lot of readingwriting but you will be inspired to do it all. This is real college level work and I think she's the best at it.
Prof. Gamberg was one of the best prof. Just pay attention to her grading criteria. She shows you what she expect on the paper and her way of grading your paper. Professor Gamberg was there to help me catch up. Expect critical thinking . Overall a very great class she encourage student to help each other. End up making a lot of friends.
Professor Gamberg gives excellent guidance through the writing process and helps you build confidence in your skills and abilities. She clarifies everything about academic writing you've wondered but were too nervous to inquire about. Also she is hilarious, but at the same time very smart and well spoken. Honestly, she is a stellar professor.
Where do I begin. i love so much. Best teacher I ever had all my life. The class is not boring at all, like other english classes and the way she laughs Omg that so funny I love her just do the work on time and turn in online and your good
A bit like kindergarten. Skills aren't taught in a college level way. Too bad, because she is super smart and really knows her stuff. Too bad she doesn't have a good way of teaching it. TONS of homework. Group projects are fun for making friends, but not so much for learning to write. If you already know essay writing, have fun and take this class
Too much homework Office hours not helpful just waiting time She is nice but you asks a lot
First off, Prof. Gamberg is the smartest, funnest professor I have ever taken. Dont be scared of the work. You will LEARN!! Next, the only class in college where I have never felt sleepy. Finally, she is an amazing teacher and absolutely hilarious. You won't regret taking this class at all!
You can tell she wants to help everyone even the slackers. She teaches everything about writing, even if youre STEM. Lots of reading and annotations and essays so yes there is work. It all goes on a plagiarism checker so you have to write all new essays. But she gives loads of feedback so you can really improve your writing like never before.
professor gamberg helps your writing improve through detailed and clear notes on all of your essays and on all of your homework. she structures the learning by playing games and doing interesting activities so it is a pleasant surprise to find out how much knowledge you have amassed. she will also let you rewrite one essay at the end of the semeste
She is funny, nice and a really good teacher, Tons of homework but I learned A LOT from them, I just didn't like that she teaches after the homework is submitted. Your writing will improve, ask for help office hours are very helpful.
Professor Julie is very unclear with her homework assignments and what she wants. She's pretty lenient with the grading if you can prove (like REALLY prove) what you're talking about. You have to read in order to participate in the discussion and there is A LOT of homework. Honestly, a ridiculous amount.
I love this professor! Yes there is a lot of homework and reading is a must because she will randomly select someone to speak but she super nice and organized. She's always their to help. I got a B and i didn't really try
On the first day of class she gave us a lot of homework and wanted us to take a quiz about the book we read. It may seem like it would be easy, but it's not! her quiz is very hard and whats on it, isn't clear in the book. she makes it very hard to understand. She expects a lot and she doesn't explain the homework before we have to do it.
She is sooooooo helpful! She encourages her students to attend office hours. She explains clearly what we should focus on and gives extra help if you need it. She reviews all of the important topics. She teaches with a fun style also and passion.
Professor Julie gives me a lot of tips for great writing and puts much effort into grading all of our essays and also our everyday writing and our homework writing. This professor is so funny. She is a delightful.
-Makes it easy to understand each aspect of scholarly reading and writing. -Goes out of way to assist in and out of classroom. -Criticism constructive. -Makes learning fun and includes music.
teaches u how to understand what u read + respond thoughtfully. nobody bothered 2 teach me that b4. why??
A ton of homework but grades it all fast and with good and a ton of feedback so worth it.
Gamberg is a kind woman who in my book represents a regular english teacher. pretty standard, normal, and you get what you expect from her. She isn't too hard of a grader and if you put in the effort you'll do well. There was a good amount of in class group involvement but overall was a steady class I didn't expect much from. It was very okay. haha
Julie Gamberg, aka Professor Awesomeness, will deepen your understanding of ANY text and teach you to write like a ninja And shes wicked funny and super nice (but I digress).
Great class!!!! Interesting reading, good conversation hard quizes lots of writing, the feedback is great.
There are 5 essays in the class but you are allowed to rewrite if you make it a big revision. If you do the work and try; she will work with you. You learn about strong writing, clear writing, proving your point, analyzing, understanding what you read. Overall probably the best combination of learning a lot + GPA maintaing.
Gamberg is one of the best professors at GCC for English. She is helpful and she honestly helped me be a better writer and arguer. There is a lot of group discussions and group activities also, you need to participate every class session if not she will call on you if you are being too quite (that means you need to come prepared w/ the readings).
Professor Gamberg is a great professor!!! She really cares about her students. There is reading and weekly quizzes. And the essays come in pairs so if you do badly on the first one you can rewrite it and raise your first essays grade. Put the work in and you will learn and will feel satisfied!
Im a peer tutor so I see EVERYTHING. This is my 3rd Englsh class here and theyve all been top notch. But Ms. Gamberg weaves a "strange magic." Shes teaching us like a Stanford level class (not that I would know. ha!) but in such a manner as to you will actually absorb all of it. She ELEVATES you. Shes a real game changer. Im a returning st
OKAY where to begin well, for one it's really hard to fail this class or even get a B grade. I'm the class clown, I honestly sat in the back and did nothing. I didn't fill out her handbook, I only read the first chapter in the "textbook" I NEVER annotated, not even once. I wrote pretty bad essays, still got an A. My advise, TAKE HER
So I know what makes a good prof, right?! Wrong! It turns out this English major thing was almost an epic failure. What changed that?? A professor WAY ABOVE the norm. You will write four essays, but one of them is a mash-up. Fun and creative assignment but also makes you think.. Office hours are very helpful. Do yourself a favor and just take her.
so funny and so nice and teaches you everything about writing essays
You take a quiz after every reading and most of them are pretty hard but I started to look forward to them because they forced me to view the readings differently. The quizzes were like study guides for a second reading (you have usually two hours to take them) and they were part of what helped me develop a skill for critical analysis and response.
I would say that this would be a very good foundational class for the remainder of college work. I don't have any complaints about because I learned quite a lot. It should be noted that I took the online class. There is quite a lot of work like papers, tests, and group discussions but it is all highly beneficial. Perfect score for this professor.
heyyyy newbies .. cluster, annotate, listing, drafting ... it will ALL MAKE SENSE! tried for my A, got my B. use the strategies!
Professor Gamberg gives detailed and helpful feedback every single week. You will write four essays, and you can rewrite one of them. There is a weekly quiz. I am doing well in my classes now because I took this class. If you are a serious student then this is a must take class. She is also very funny and lighthearted.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER ONLINE. She posts assignments that she makes due the next day, some include reading multiple chapters in a book that is hard to comprehend at times! She ONLY gives weekend homework, and your first essay will be due out of nowhere and then you go back and do the outline for the essay.
Professor Gamberg is a GREAT English teacher, maybe the best. Shes funny with a friendly sarcasm. She is very clear what she wants out of her students and if you keep up with the work, you will pass. You do have tests every week but you learn how to study for them. Helped me in my other classes too. You get a lot of help writing the essays too.
Most online instructors I have taken do not interact with their students very much. Thank goodness, Professor Gamberg interacts with her class constantly. The guidance and feedback really helped. This class improved my critical thinking ideas and my writing skills, so thank you.
I never realized how literal my interpretations of literature were before I took Professor Gambergs class. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the works, and she invited discussion that emphasized depth and allowed for humor and freedom of expression. It was an honor to participate in such a high-level class.
So fun! You learn without realizing you're learning.
I took her English 101 online class in winter. Professor Julie Gamberg taught me how to annotate when reading books. It is useful. There are some discussions, and we learned a lot when we sharing our ideas. She is a good person. I actually got a c+ in this course. Finally, she gave me an B. Thank you, professor.
FANTASTIC professor who cares about students and is passionate about the material. Attendance and homework pretty mandatory. She is funny and her lectures are super interesting. If you plan to take humanities, go with her.
You can tell that professor Gamberg really cares for her students. She gives many chances to do extra credit. She makes her lectures fun and is very informative about everything. It is very important to make sure that you read the book assigned for the course. Show up to class everyday and do what is told and you should have nothing to worry about.
She is a wonderful Professor who cares that her students GET IT. She's no pushover, do your work and do it well to get high grades. She is available for help, advice and information. She cares about what she's talking about, and she's always kind. Would take her again in a heartbeat.
Love her!
I just took Professor Gamberg for the first session of Summer (English 10, Online course), she was great! she gave detailed feed back on all the writing assignments on canvas. The work load was fair for the course. Received a B. Highly recommend her!
I loved Professor Gamberg! I took her English 101 Online class during Spring, and it was one of my most enjoyable classes. The books she has you read are very interesting, fun to read, and they are cheap too! I missed a deadline for one of the essays, and although she deducted points, she still gave me almost full credit. I highly recommend!
Wouldn't recommend taking this class if you have a full time job, assignments every other day can be difficult to catch up
Real talk, this class was lit! Professor Gamberg gives you feedback daily. If youre a bio major and you HATE English, you will be thankful for all you learned in this class and for your essay which you got you into UCLA!
Her rules are not petty, they are fair. Learned more from the online English class then other clases. Im not a huge English fan but I I feel that I will definitely apply what I learned in this class to college and life. Like her style of teaching. Very interactive and helpful.
50 page-reading. She will spend an entire hour going over max 2 lines of the reading. You will have a 1 attempt- timed quiz w 4 questions(5 points each). You will go back to class and she will put you in random groups and have you discuss it and she will not answer any qs or help you understand the text better. Nice lady tho!
If you want an easy A take this class, but if you want to learn, take another. She assigns a massive amount of work then barely goes over it in class, but reading sparknotes is enough to nail the easy quizzes. A few simple essays. She offers heaps of extra credit so as long as you try a little, you'll get an A. Definitely recommend!
Prof. Gamberg is AMAZING! She is SO sweet, knowledgeable, caring. She is passionate about Lit; easy and great class! Had a rough semester, was in danger of failing; she was SO understanding & allowed me to turn all my work in- I passed. One of those moments that really determined course of my academic career- I will forever be grateful. Take her!
(The actual class I took was Eng 123 but it wasn't listed) She grades papers easily, but the amount of "breaking into groups" you have to do is completely exhausting. I loved all of our full class discussions, but small group work should be left in high school where it belongs. I'm paying to learn from the professor, not carry a group of students.
Ive struggled with English, but taking Professor Gamberg made me feel more confident in my writing. Shes an amazing teacher who will work closely with you to help you understand.
I took her online class last year. She is very helpful. I sent her probably 40 emails and she responded quickly. Now I feel guilty. Sorry!! She is really an inspirational, caring professor on her game. I would love to take a class with her again.
TAKE THIS CLASS! The grading criteria is fair. She is super nice and will work with you. She gives you an outline of the semester, so just make sure to do the assignments, and go to her if you need help. She makes the assignments interesting. Do not enter her class expecting an easy A. A lot of group work, but not busywork type, more complex type.
Julie is EXTRAORDINARY. She is my fav professor because shes funny, considerate, and passionate about her students and teaching. Plan on a lot of reading and doing meta-cognitive reading during class. The essays can be difficult, unless you come to class and the assignments. She will help ALOT THOUGH. Take her!! She makes it fun.
I get worried that I'm not doing it right and Miss Gamberg will sit down with you and help you until you feel confident. She has alot of positivity but at the same time she will be honest if you need to redo it and she gives you a chance to turn in the work again. So I definitely recommend. My favorite class ever.
Once you learn English with Professor Gamberg, you will love to write and read for the first time. Like really love it. She is a really nice lady and makes the class fun and funny but mostly she prepares you very well.
Ms. Gamberg explains everything & never makes u feel like a dumb-a** ... its too much work but I keep reminding myself that its all for the good. "Get ready to laugh".
Professor Gamberg is absolutely incredible! You will work hard but you will grow. I loved her and this class and how it pushed me to really reach inside of myself. Her teaching style is so involved, grading rubrics are clear and she works just as hard as she expects her students to. Will look for her in future classes and highly recommend!!
Lots of homework and assignments every 3 days
I would NOT recommend Professor Julie Gamberg to anyone! Professor Julie Gamberg does not respond to messages, which makes it incredibly difficult when you are taking an online class. If by chance she does respond, it is over 5 days later. Us students have been relying on ourselves to get us through this class. Avoid this Professor at all costs!!!
i took her for fall sem and overall, the assignments were all based in the readings. she is terrible with communicating with her students. there was a mistake with one of my grades and she never responded to my multiple emails, which resulted in me getting a B in the class. do all the work and sum extra credit youll be good.
I took her during the fall and she was my first English teacher in college so take this with a grain of salt. I thought she was ok. She gave hw every 2-3 days. We wrote a few essays throughout the sem but she had a lot of other work to make up for it. She does a lot of group work which sucks if ur group doesnt do anything. Advice: do 50 point ec.
she gives clear instructions for papers and discussions but on the chance that you have a question to ask she'll give a super vague response. easy grader, but tread lightly cause it's hard to understand what she wants sometimes. there's a chance at the end of the semester to rewrite your essays for a better grade as well
Don't take her humanity class. She gives too much homework. Each discussion is like writing an essay and takes a long time to understand the instruction. You will have discussions and papers every day. If you have humanity, I recommend you to take " Enoch Anderson class", he is super easy and a few papers and weekly quizzes.
Be prepared to read. Sometimes you will have to read more than 20 stories for one assignment, and sometimes the text will be garbled because they have been copied. However, she is a very good professor. She gives a good feedback. There are also opportunities for extra credit.
Some professors are just good people and even though the class is online you can just feel it. I've always been a trash writer but Professor Gamberg is there for you. I had like eight zooms with her and 10,000 texts. She's always like, No, you got it, which is that extra confidence you need. The readings you do gives you a perspective shift too.
I was a little nervous taking an English class online without any zooms. The required projects and discussions and her videos took a little while to get used to. I did all the homework and met deadlines. She gives LOTS of feedback. The guidance is very helpful, the website for the class is very helpful too. Overall, a great and fair and funny prof.
I took her online class and it was awesome! I was very rusty when it came to English but Prof. Gamberg taught the class in a very informative, encouraging way. If you do the homework and watch the videos you'll be golden. If you're getting lost, reach out to Prof. Gamberg. She is more than happy to help and is very available! Great prof!
The amount of homework you get in this class is an insane amount. You cant even have any free time.
Way too much reading for a humanities class. You get to write essays too, skip for a better teacher or dont even bother taking this class. snooze fest
There are so many easier humanities classes in GCC instead of taking her class. The amount of reading for each assignments are insane. And her directions are confusing to follow that marks off points on my assginments. Lastly, this class feels like an English class rather than a humanity class.
She is five stars, probably six stars! All the work is explained in videos and intros and you know exactly what you are supposed to do. How she teaches is clear and understandable. She also cares that you pass. There are essays and discussion boards which are like short essays. You can write how you like to. If you need help, you can always ask her
she is the best professor ever. she is amazing. she cares her students and always listen to you, help you to overcome hard thing. If you can take her, do it. She makes class interesting, and you do a lot of different things. Its also a place to learn.
One of the most nurturing English professors at Glendale! She answered any questions I had about writing and gave extensive feedback on papers to improve my writing. If you want to become a better writer, take her class and don't be afraid to ask her any questions.
She would give lackluster instructions in online classes, then dox point or even fail people on that assignment because of the things she didn't include. One of the major assignments was just stroking her ego about "How important her class will be in the future." It isn't, you learn nothing new or important, and her grading system makes no sense.
Very flexible with heavy schedules, and worked well with answering questions. Gives lots of feedback if you want to improve your writing. Quite a bit of work, but very open ended work. Also uses free textbook. Yeah. Very good introduction to College-Level English.
She is really cool. You can tell she definitely cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She will work with you so do not panic if you find yourself struggling. You will have to read and write a lot but that is what comes with a college class. Take her class.
Honestly, I didn't expect this class to be so stressful throughout the semester. Even though I'm a biochem major, I devoted all of my time to her assignments more than to my chem class and still ended up getting a D. Try not to be late to the assignments because she's gonna grade them the last day which will make you stress over final grade a lot.
She was the best professor by far. Very helpful, understanding, kind, and funny. She was easy to speak to and she was always fair. I wish I could have her as a full-time teacher till I graduate.
She is an amazing professor! The class is pretty straightforward and she gives help if you ask! There are group projects and individual papers, and she is very clear with requirements She really cares about students. She was compassionate with students experiencing a death or dealing w/personal disability. She's also funny and down to earth!
Really organized and gives a lot of helpful feedback. Super sweet and the class is really easy to pass as long as you do the work.
Her grading is really fair and tests aren't that hard. You have to comment on readings and on other peoples comments. Lots of discussions and projects. She gives a lot of helpful feedback on essays and you can have a do over. She is a great professor to talk to if you want to talk about career goals. I 100% recommend this teacher.
Curriculum is designed so you can work for an A or B. Definitely on the caring side. She is organized. Lots of contact and fast responses. That being said, it is a lot of reading and writing. A major plus is she offers revisions which is appreciated, as revisions offer huge growth potential in composition classes. Conversational style videos.
Overall great prof. Wonderful class and great at making learning interesting again. 3 big essays. 3 smaller essays. She teaches you everything you need to improve your writing. The topics are poverty, work, college, social capital (like the resources you already have), race, and just life in general. It's more interesting than I'm making it sound.
I took her online class and it was awesome! I was very rusty when it came to English but Prof. Gamberg taught the class in a very informative, encouraging way. If you do the reading and watch the videos and do the homework you'll be good. If you're getting lost, reach out to Prof. Gamberg. She is more than happy to help and is very available! Glad
I absolutely loved having Professor Gamberg as a teacher. This is the only rate the professor reviews I have ever done, but Professor Gamberg made English fun. I learned so much during my class and I feel she made me a better writer and reader. We had such great discussions about interesting topics and texts I had never heard of. Love her 100%.
Thank you professor for making this a great year! Even in the pandemic! After 101, I'm ready to move on to a more advanced college courses. As long as you put effort and try, you can understand the concepts, and you'll be a better academic and real world writer.
Best instructor. She gives you all the resources you need to excel in the class. The focus is on medicine and culture. Some projects, a lot of discussions. Three papers. My favorite course at GCC so far! Highly recommend!
I've struggled in English. This was my third time trying. Professor Gamberg made me feel more confident in my thinking by giving a lot of feedback and asking questions to push me to come up with ideas and be more clear. Shes an angel from heaven.
She understands that not all students are alike and will help you feel comfortable. She made our readings fun and gave great feedback on essays, almost like it was an English class. If you try in her class, you will make an A if you do the work. You can't find a better professor!
One of the best professors I have taken from. It is important to her that you fully grasp a concept, she is more focused on that than anything else. In her class, you aren't just being talked at, you are fully involved.
There are 12 chapters, for each chapter you have an activity, discussion & easy 1 page writing. There are a couple of projects 3 essays. I usually did it in two hours 2-3 times a week. Very manageable. Mostly fun and very interesting. Part inspiration, part deep learning, part tips and help. Tons of feedback. Overall, one of my favorite professors.
Had alot of fun with Professor Gamberg. She is easy to talk to and is always trying to help the class succeed
Knows how to thoroughly explain stuff. Will make you think hard about your answers during discussion boards but privately in notes to you. Easy to get ahold of and easy get along with.
Shes great, just do as much as you can and shell work with you. Very nice. Youll write 3 papers and research paper with a few parts to it about what you want to do, and some weekly assignments. I actually learned a lot. I would take her again.
Professor Julie Gamberg gives you personal help in zoom and in feedback for every. little. thing. you. do. I have never felt before in an online class like someone was 100% there and on my side. If you haven't taken a lot of classes before you might not know how much it means to have a Professor who wants you to understand and do well. It's gold.
I never saw this kind of prof who wants 100% our success. She remembers details of your personal life. If you have any issue she is listening or listening by chat all heart like a minister or a therapist but then helping you solve it and get into learning again. She won't do your work ha but shes like the best coach who will never give up on you
Me trying to take 21 units while working in a restaurant and doing door dash. Me dropping all of my classes. Me missing Professor G's class and my group. My advice. Keep up with the class, it.goes fast. But she keeps it interesting and you can rewrite anything. She was so nice when I told her I was dropping, I wish she was my mom. The goat.
Professor Gamberg is caring and takes a lot of time give back feedback and how to improve while also praising you for your work. She genuinely wants you to succeed in the class and allows you to turn in assignments late and allows resubmissions for a better grade. I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot. I would 100% take her again!
Professor Gamberg is amazing. The way her class is set up is so smart and students actually feel like they have control in their education. Nothing less then a 5/5 highly recommend her.
Professor Gamberg was such an understanding professor, I would definitely take her again. Super easy class, she allows resubmissions and thoughtfully grades everything with feedback. It is impossible to get anything below a B, just participate and turn in your work.
English 183 was a breeze! The professor was super cool, the grading wasn't too harsh, and they really cared about helping you improve your grades on specific assignments.
Professor Gamberg makes English enjoyable. She provides helpful feedback and allows resubmissions, ensuring students succeed. The class is manageable, and unstuck study is a great study tool alongside the free textbook.
Professor Gamberg cares for all her students and wants them to succeed. She allows resubmitting assignments you didn't receive a good grade on and gives amazing feedbacks on every assignment. If you need to take English 101 I highly recommend her!
She's a nice and compassionate professor. Her class is discussion heavy which I liked, she's easily reachable and gives great feedback. Really the only frustration I've had was that her instructions can be unclear or contradictory sometimes, like she doesn't proofread them, but she's very responsive to student feedback so just reach out to her.
Might know English, but she has no common sense or decency.
She had an okay class. We could grade our own work, which made things easier. However, when I took her (Fall 2024), there was an "issue" on Canvas where some of our assignments would automatically get zeros and screw up our grade. This was stressful and she didn't respond quickly. Besides that, she was pretty nice and the class was fun & AI based.
