Professor Hanauer is one of those professors who I will never forget. She loves teaching, and she is extremely good at what she does. She makes sure that you understand everything, and she makes up review packets which contain everything you need to know for the exam. I highly reccomend her!

She was awsome, you have to take good notes but as long as you do that her test were a breeze!! She would stop class and answer your questions and make sure you understood until she continued class. Awsome teacher, no question about it!!

She is the best! There is a ton of info but she makes it as easy as it can possibly be to understand. Tests are easy as long as you study. She also gives a quiz for each chapter that adds to a test grade at the end. I am attempting to take a class with her again, just for an elective because she is that wonderful.

Great professor but overloads you on information.

This is a good class. We mostly just talk about stuff. The mid term was very easy. She gave you a sheet with the questions that could be on the test and where to find them in the book. That was the only time we ever used the book. The project she has you do are kinda dumb, but mindless. She is a great person though.

She is an awesome teacher. She is funny and always has interesting stories to tell. Her tests are easy enough if you study. She gives open book online quizzes, which makes it very easy to keep your grade up. I am going to take her for PC80 too. I highly recommend her.

She's great. She may seem a bit sarcastic at times but she's really into what she does and she explains everything until everyone understands. Her tests are kinda brutal especially if you hate questions that include "All but" or "Not"Be careful! Overall, great professor and easy grader on papers as long as you do what she asked. Best Prof ever. Study and you will get a good grade on test. Extra credit aval. Paper-connect it to class & u will do good. Notes are crystal clear. Study them & u will never have to read the book. i took 3 classes with her. she is the best by far. she is very personable, fair grader, loves what she teaches. There's not one thing i can complain about. I toatally recomend her!!

By far my favorite professor at Suffolk. I took her for intro and abnormal. Very interesting and really knows psychology. 4-5 tests(all multiple choice and right from her lectures) and 1 paper. If you pay attention in class and find psychology at all interesting you'll do good.

Psychology of Women, don't ignore this class b/c it contains word women. one of the must take classes. She is one of the best professor at the Suffolk. one research paper, two surveys,1 presentation, take home midterm and final are m/c. very interesting class you will never regrat for taking it.

My absolute favorite professor at suffolk. I've taken her for intro, abnormal, and psych of women and I love her. Just take notes pay attention to her and you pass and her test are right out of her lectures all she wants is to see an effort so ask questions participate and you'll breeze through. She's really nice!!!

AMAZING. Gives examples for everything, so you always remember the terms and definitions. This class has a lot of notes, but she makes it VERY fun and has a lot of discussions with the class. Easy to talk to if you need help. Doesn't give homework. Tests are easy if you read over the notes and pay attention in class. :)

I had Hanaeur in her Winter 2009 Psych class and she really was great. Not an easy class but definitely not hard as long as you keep up with the work! She tells hilarious stories and definitely keeps you interested in what she's talking about. I would only take her for psych if I were you.

Prof Han was an incredible professor. It was easy to listen to her lectures. The material was difficult but she made it easy to digest. She had a tremendous influence on my career goals and helped me find a school to transfer to.

Online class. Best way to keep up with material is to outline assigned chapters and define boldface and italicized words as if you were in an in-person class. Online materials helpful in reinforcing what you've learned and acting as ongoing asssessment. Start work on term paper/case study as early as possible

Hated this online class. Tests, tests,& more tests. All timed(75 q"s in 70 min)so you aren't able to use notes or text. 10 page paper,weekly discussions & additional online work. Didn't return emails,she advised she would curve & provide xtra credit,never did. so surprised she is rated so high here.I had a 3.7 gpa before this class. Avoid her onlin

Dr Hanauer is one of the best professors Ive had. Always willing to put in extra time to clarify something if you need it. Has open office hours for any student who needs help. Is willing to email, and phone if your schedule does not work with hers. Her examples during class (talking about her family etc.) really help to understand the material.

I took professor Hanauer for intro to psych, and child psych, she is the best teacher i have had! She is the person who made me decide to go into psychology. You have to pay attention in class & show up, otherwise you won't do well. But she is extremely helpful & willing to work with you. Best teacher ever!!

Professor Hanauer was great. Class really wasnt that hard. She gave one paper that was only 5 pages and she was very helpful though the whole thing. she always reviews the day before tests and there is barely any homework. the paper is on anything you want it to be. and she is def attractive for her age which is much younger than she actually is

Great professor but you have to make time to do the work. She makes her expectations very clear, and is very welcoming for extra help. She is strict about absences so stay on top of that . Her review sheets are very helpful. Overall she is a caring fair professor.

4 tests no final one 5 page paper can be absent up to 5 times but after twice she deducts points from your final grade, very nice and sweet, homework is online (textbook is free online) better to do it and get a bad grade than to not do it at all. she is an interesting teacher if you like psych, has great stories. gives extra credit

She's a great professor, there are 4 tests they aren't bad at all and the launchpad exercises are a great study tool for them. There's one 5 page case study you have to do but she gives plenty of time to finish it. You'll get 100 on all discussion posts if you follow her directions and she leaves feedback on all of them as well. I recommend her!

I love Prof Hanauer! She really cares about her students & preparing them for their time at SCCC, making sure they understand all resources available. She makes the material interesting and is more than fair in her grading. Some online learning with tests and a few short papers but nothing at all difficult. I would def take another class with her.

I loved Professor Hanauer, she is always accessible outside of class. The syllabus looks like so much on the first day of this online class but it is really not that tough once you get used to it. Weekly chapter assignments, pre/post/video quizzes. Very easy and all from the textbook. One case study. The exams are tricky and there are 4 of them.

I have taken 3 online classes with Dr. Hanauer and she is just the best! She really cares about each student and provides feedback on every discussion. Weekly discussion posts based off the online textbook and four exams. none of her classes are hard or a heavy work load as long as you pay attention to due dates. Very attentive love her

Professor Hanauer is the best ! Had her for psy 101 and college seminar. She has organized notes on power points she goes through during class with plenty of examples. An absolute sweetheart. She does have the tendency to go off on personal story tangents, but they always do apply to what she's teaching us. She does make sure to clarify things and doesn't mind, even encourages, people asking questions. The tests are multiple choice. There is one paper that she does grade a bit harshly on, but overall, great.

Love this professor!! If I could take her for every class I would. Since everything was online due to COVID, she made lecturers via powerpoint which was awesome. She made it interesting and taught me so much through a screen. Pay attention to the powerpoints and take notes because thats what the quizzes are based off of! Do that and its a easy A.

She is down to earth and her lectures are interesting based off of her personal experiences. She is flexible with grading on unit tests, and allows for extra credit. She assigns homework that is given in advance, complete it at your own pace, and it is graded on effort. By far one of my favorite classes! take her class!

Julie Hanauer is amazing professor! You can tell she knows what shes talking about. Provides lecture powerpoint slides with the reading chapters to get a better grasp. It is a lot of online homework on Launchpad (chapter readings, videos, quizzes, clinical choices) all of which is not due until each exam. Four exams all count as 85% of grade.

Amazing professor! Long lectures but only because she takes time to explain concepts in detail, so you really understand it. A lot of online homework but its really not that bad. Shes a really kind and caring person who wants to see everyone succeed.

I enjoyed taking her PSY101 course and learned a lot from it. It consists mostly of lectures, HW on Launchpad (not difficult if you read the assigned book chapters), and tests every few weeks. She gives you enough time to prepare for the tests and get the HW assignments done. Her lectures were great because she also gave great examples and stories.

Dr. Hanauer is great! She was my PSY 101 prof and took her class again. She gives a lot of real-life examples so students can understand the topics. Make sure you do the extra credit, keep up with vantage homework & read the book. She is always available for her students. I love her energy & stories. A very knowledgeable, caring and sweet Prof!

Dr. Hanauer is an amazing professor. I Took her class online, she uses PowerPoints, take a lot of notes on those, she bases the test on them. There is a lot of reading, frequent test about 5 (all multiple choice), but as long as you do the homework and participate in class you'll get a good grade. She offers a couple of extra credit assignments.

I struggle memorizing things so maybe that's why I didn't fully enjoy the class but she's a good professor. Get ready to read a lot if you take this class!

Professor Hanauer is so sweet! I enjoyed her class and had to take it for my degree, when she listed through examples of any metal illness we went through she would bring physical examples like when we did schizophrenia she brought in papers and journal entries from a client she worked with to show us what schizophrenia looks like!

Professor Hanauer is great at explaining concepts. The class does have a heavy workload, but using resources like unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can make it manageable. Overall, a rewarding learning experience.

Professor Hanauer is an amazing professor in my opinion. There are 5 exams and each one covers 2 chapters so it's not too overwhelming at all. It's extremely hard to fail because you can get up to 20 points of extra credit from relatively easy assignments. Would 100% recommend. I'm taking lifespan development with her next semester as well.

One of the best professors I've had. It was an online class. You have to buy the textbook in order to do your homework (very easy). Basic discussion post every week. Tests are fair if you study. The homework average, along with your discussion post average will help your overall grade in the class if you aren't doing well on the tests.

She is a wonderful Professor. She truly does care about her students and the coursework. She provides excellent examples and talks about her time as a psychologist. I think she's truly one of a kind at Suffolk. She genuinely cares and shows it. I'm sad I won't get to take any more of her classes.
