If Math is not your subject and you're having to take MAT0012, I highly recommend Ms. Hanowell. Her teaching style is so easy. As long as you come to class and apply yourself with good study habits, there is absolutely no way you can fail her class. I'm feeling really good about moving on to MAT0024, with Ms. Hanowell as my instructor again.

Ms. Hanowell was my professor in both MAT0012 and MAT0024. She was simply the best! Her rules for success works: come to class, stay up on your assignments, and feel free to ask any questions if you're not understanding a specific are: Failure will not be an option. I made an "A" in both classes. I wish she was teaching MAT1033.

OMG I loved her, She helps you when you need it. no matter how many questions you have. She posts note on blackboard, that really helps so you dont have to take note in class, plus if you don't understand something on you homework. She is a complete sweetheart!

After being out of school for years and coming back she made this easy for me to understand and to pass with an A I was amazed she is very helpful and will explain as much as you need her to and willing to walk you through how to do the problems. Ms. Hanowell was a great professor, she is funny and respects her students. We use ALEKS a lot so be ready for that but she is always there if you need her just ask. If you miss class you will miss something, so show up!

I got a C, but I am awful at math and I almost had a B. She was really nice, and helpful. She was very patient and helpful in explaining if you didn't understand the material. If you do bad on something or forget something she's usually pretty good about giving second chances.

She was a wonderful teacher, and was always attentive to the needs of the class. However, she tends to hyper-focus on one or two students that may not understand what's going on, and the rest of the class has to sit and wait for them to get it. Easy to pass if you do well on tests and quizzes, and if you show up.

Miss Hanowell is one of the best teachers I've ever had, literally. I have always been an average math student at best. She goes above and beyond what you would expect from a professor, and does not treat her not so with it students any differently than her above average-students. I cannot say enough about Pro Hanowell she is outstanding and never judges anyone, she finds different ways to help you understand the material and doesn't give up easily when teaching students who struggle. She has a lot of positive energy, is motivational, amazing lectures, supper supportive, I used to be a c student and got an A in her class.

All's I can say is she is an angle in disguise, really and truly she really cares deeply for her students and goes above beyond what you would expect. She has a clear grading criteria and is very fair and understanding, you always know were you stand with her and she will find different ways of explaining until you get it, that's really important.

Ms. Hanowell will work with you to ensure you are learning what you need to know, all you have to do is put forth the effort. There's no reason anyone should fail her class.

For many years I thought i was "bad" at math, come to find out, I just never had the right teacher. She is amazing ! She doesn't make you feel embarrassed if your confused or have a question. She's not strict on attendance, but common sense tells you not to miss math class anyway. I wish she was teaching the class I needed next ! The BEST

She is a great math teacher, and explains all the information that is in your textbook. I took this class twice a week from 8:00am-9:40am, she wont keep you the whole time. But you have to pay attention and basically write down everything you think you need to write down.

She is super caring and willing to help students who ask. I've always had trouble in math but I passed this class with a B!

i thought i hated math before taking her. i love going to her class and she makes math so easy. she breaks it down to every step and really cares about each of her students. she truly wants you to do well and understand what shes doing. i wish i could take her for MGF. wish i took her earlier, i would have gone the MAC1105 route instead of MGF

Ms. Hanowell is one of my favorite teachers. I always thought I was bad at math but she taught the material so well and was really encouraging. I got an A in the class and would absolutely take her again. She also will help you with anything you need and does it in a way that isn't embarrassing. I would highly recommend her.

She is fantastic! There is no textbook, but there is a 12 dollar class notes that is recommended to be purchased. She makes you want to ask questions. The practice tests are practically identical to the real test so tests are a breeze if you study. Homework can be redone as many times as you need to get it right before its due.

Im currently taking her for MAT1033 and she is a great teacher and she cares about whether or not u get the information or not. I highly recommend her to anyone taking MAT1033.

Amazing math teacher! I'm terrible at math and she clearly broke down the information and took as much time as needed to make sure everyone understood. Always available after class and will work with you as much as you need. Very nice and funny. Definitely made an 8am class very enjoyable.

I loved having Ms. Hanowell. She tries to make a connection with everyone in class. She's very clear in her lectures and doesn't hesitate to elaborate or go over something if even one person isn't getting it. Her review guides are exactly like the tests, and there's extra credit assignments offered before every test.

Ms. Hanowell is really passionate about teaching and making sure she enables her students with the proper information and motivation to pass her class! She has an extremely kind soul. I'm currently taking this class online and loveeee it! I'm three and a half weeks ahead on my coursework and the tests are super easy & almost exactly like the test reviews so you know what to prepare for! 10/10 would recommend for a math course!

Professor Hanowell cares for all of her students and makes an effort into getting to know each and every one. Her lectures are very easy to understand and if you don't understand something she will work with you until you do. The class is not hard you just need to keep with your homework assignments and you will be fine!

Professor Hanowell is an amazing professor. I ended up with a C because I did not try very hard, but if you do you will get an A. She helps her students a lot. At the end of the course, she drops your 3 of you lowest homework grades, and her tests are not monitored on Honorlock which is great. BTW don't buy that book. We did not use it.

She knew that online learning is very different than in-person classes and would make sure that everyone knew what they were doing. If you spoke up about what you were having trouble with she would do extra problems until everyone was happy with their understanding. A very good teacher would take her class again.

I loved this class because of her. This class is a class I needed to retake and was absolutely not looking forward to it. But Julie was amazing. Technically my class was a zoom class and it was a combination of 2 classes so is listed as MAC1105C. She takes her time to make sure everyone understands everything. She does not rush and is very helpful.

I'm actually signed up to take her again next semester! I loved her energy and the way she helped us in class if we were confused! The homework can pile a little though, but she goes over the exact problems in class, so you can do it with her!

Best math teacher. I would take her for all 4 years if I could. Easy homework and you have 10 late passes. Test are identical to the practice test. Go to class and the material will be easy. The most understanding and helpful teacher Ive had.

Professor Hanowell's class was one of the best math courses I have taken! The powerpoint reviews she goes over in class reflect very similarly to the tests and final exams. Dropped four lowest homework assignments and replaced final exam grade with lowest test grade, if we scored higher on the final. Very easy to pass if you complete all work!

Professor Hanowell is one of the best math teachers at TCC. I took her online class and it was straightforward. She's professional, organized, and cares. There were lots of videos to reference for each unit section in canvas but if you need help with a problem, take advantage of her office hours.

Lectures were straight to the point and she didn't rush just to finish the lesson for that day. She explained step by step if anyone didn't understand. Her tests were from the test review, just different numbers. Had 2 in person exams, and 2 online(one was the final) with no honor lock.

Professor Hanowell was an amazing teacher. She really cares about her students, responds to her emails, and is always available to help you. She uses HonorLock for her test, but she definitely makes sure you're prepared for them. Each day she has a new lesson, which is followed by a homework assignment, if you stay on top of things you will pass.

Took her online class and was accessible. I did appreciate that she took an initiative to do a video record of her teaching and solving the questions of her reviewer (for the exams) that she gives. It really did help me a lot + she answers all your questions through email.
