Not only was she hilarious, she also didn't just sit up there & read what's in the textbook (What a lot of professors do) She brought in real life experiences that trly helped me understand the field of public speaking. What to say about Julie...pretty much just one of the coolest Professors (make that people) ever! The class contrary to popular belief is ver easy. Show up, listen, participate, and "DON'T BE THAT GUY!" You will get out what you put into her class cut and dried. She is straight forward no BS and to the point. Don't ever say she did not warn you!

Really, show up, don't read your speech and you should get an A.

Julie is by far the best teacher on campus. Be prepared to have a good time in her class. Her only rule is to show up everyday and on time.

Pretty easy to get an A in her speech class even if you, like me, hate giving speeches. She will not, however, just 'give' you an A. But, if you show up and at least try you should be fine.

Oh how I hated the idea of taking a public speaking class! Somehow this professor makes it bearable. Not only is she funny, she's also a skilled instructor. You will have to do the speeches...there's no getting around that, but she is so encouraging that it doesn't seem so bad. Take her class if you get the chance.

WOW! All I can say is that Julie Ireland has been the best teacher I have ever had. It was purely a joy being in her public speaking class. You won't dread Public Speaking if you take her class. She is fun, funny, honest and all around a wonderful teacher. I would recommend her to anybody and everybody.

She's amazing. I was dreading public speaking, but she made the class very enjoyable. Just follow her direction and you'll get a good grade. Attendance is a huge part of the grade, so don't take her if you don't plan to show up for every class or are late a lot. Take public speaking with her if at all possible, unless you can't take a joke.

I took her maymester class ( in between spring and summer)of public speaking. It was a 9 day course, and it was the best decision ever!!! She is HILARIOUS, pushes you to do your BEST, boosting your self CONFIDENCE, and most of all, she makes the class FUN!!! I give her an A++++ for her incredible skills!! Her assignments are also so much fun!!

Julie was an amazing teacher. She is soooo funny and made it fun to go to class everyday I was actually sad for the class to be over. She is great at what she does. If you need to take com 115 she is definately the teacher to take it with it wil make all the difference!

This puvlic speaking class was simply amazing, students who had the biggest fear of speaking in front of an audience, after this class with Julie, no longer had that fear. Jules Ireland was BY FAR the best professor I have had. What a fantastic class. I can not say enough good things about her. She brought intelligence and professionalism along with lots of humor to the class. I was a bit scared to get up in front of people and speak, but Jules made it so comfortable and easy.

Julie is the best. I had her class at 8 am and no one had to worry about falling asleep. Shes absolutely hilarious. Best professor for this course. She has a dark sense of humor and it is quite intriguing. Don't be close minded, get easily offended and don't use your cellphones during lectures. I cant stress enough how much this course helps with public speaking. But you have to work hard at it and make an effort.

Julie is funny, nice, intelligent, hates computerscell phones, very liberal, edgy, experienced, quirky, and a little bit crazy. Most importantly she's a wonderful teacher who can change your life, change how you think, and make you more comfortable speaking in public. But only take her if you will show up to every class on time and pay attention.

Easy A, just keep up with the speeches don't miss on those days and read and learn notes for the 2 tests for the entire semester. She is fun, she is direct, and can cause for debates due to she speaks in generalization scenarios. I learned a lot in her class. I would take her class again.

Hands down the BEST teacher at CCD, had 2 semesters with her, got A's in both classes. She is funny, entertaining, hilarious, and she will make you laugh at least 5x a class. Julie is so fantastic! I skip a lot of class & ended up with a C, but could have very easily achieved an A. I got 100% on all of my speeches and my final. She is crazy funny, very kind, and totally cool! Before her class I was petrified of public speaking but now if I had to, I could give a speech at a moments notice. Highly recommended!

One of the best teachers I've had! She makes public speaking so easy. You truly learn how to speak effectively in public and so much more, like about different cultures and how public speaking is so important around the world. Attendance is everything but you actually want to show up to her class because it's like a comedy show each time.

Julie is a great teacher. SHe grades you on body movement and how you give a speech over what language you use. She has clear grading and really caring and understanding to all students. I would take her again and i suggest her to every student!

She is hilarious. I'm a very strong public speaker already, but she taught me a few things, like how to be funnier. The weaker speaking students seemed stronger at the end of the class. She is changing her syllabus after this semester, but I'm going to presume based on what she's said, that she'll still be a fun teacher.

Julie has been my favorite professor so far. She requires participation, grades fairly, and is overall awesome. My favorite thing about her was her teaching style. She is real, she doesn't sugarcoat, and she is extremely fair. I have never had a professor that was so about equality. She is well respected and well loved and she has earned it.

With raw, real world experience, Julie is a breath of fresh air. Her style is her own and she owns it! Julie challenges you with out of class assignments that require solo experiences based on your fears. Whether it's going to a movie theater alone, singing in public, or perfroming at the open mic night! A refreshing shift in perception no doubt.
