I did my independent study with Dr. Kontos and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and learned a lot. She's very helpful and genuinely nice. Her rules apply to everyone equally. I would recommend her to people who really want to learn something.

Great teacher, you don't need the book, just study the notes and you are bound to get an A!! She also gives a lot of extra credit

Dr Kontos is one the greatest professors that I have had here at Bloom. The book is hardly used which is a good thing, and she explains all the material very clearly. She definitely makes a very dull subject fun. Take her, go to class and study for the tests and you'll do fine.

Nice, clear and helpful. Tough on attendance & homework. Tests are open note book. Not bad to look at eather. She's a fun prof. If you need stats, this is the place.

The class was very demanding but she was very willing to help. If you get your papers done early she will read and correct them for you.

Clear explanations of material. Class picks up speed as you progress - expect to fly through designs by the last month! Exams are challenging but fair, and Dr.Kontos sticks to a clear grading system. If you have a question, ASK!!!! And DO PRACTICE (and make your own) designs outside of class!!

Dr.K is really awsome! She lectures a lot in class, doesn't use the book. Easy to stay focused, adds little bits of fun info to a boring lecture...highly recommend this class!!

Dr. Kontos is very clear about her expectations, and follows a very clear, fair grading system. This class is a lot of work - but suck it up - it's doable, and you'll do even more in grad school. BTW: it's in your best interest to actually care about learning the APA stuff, since you WILL need it in other classes.

One of the best professors I've had. She's hilarious and very clear with her explanations. She is always willing to help. I hate any kind of math and I enjoyed going to this class.

She is an awesome professor, and is glad to help you out with any situation that may arise in class or out of class. But, her tests are pretty hard...a lot of multiple choice and some short answer questions. She makes learning psychology fun, and makes her lectures pretty exciting...tells a lot of stories!

Very nice woman...very good teacher. She makes class fun and the material easy to understand. Just study hard for the tests & you'll be fine. I would definitely recommend taking her class.

SHE WAS AWESOME!! Great sense of humor and a great professor! I would tell anyone to take her classes! Tests were easy if you kept up with your work and study guides and she made class fun and interesting with stories and jokes.

If you hate math, TAKE KONTOS, shes freakin amazing at explaining statistics in a logical way, you will understand the importance of everything she teaches and do not skip class or you will be lost, she always gives a practice exam the class before the exam and leaves answers on her door for you to check, GREAT PROFESSOR!

She is able to connect with her students in whatever way they need. She conveys material very clearly!! Take her!

Great prof She knows what shes talking about and will help anyone I didn't do too well in this class but I know I could have done better if I paid more attention to the little details that were required for tests You will need to know when to round up and how much to round up etc for all different equations or she takes points off otherwise great!

Material in this class can be a little hard and boring, but she is a great professor and does whatever she can to make it more interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but missing a day will really set you back on the material. Only need the book for the tables in the back.

Great Teacher, She presented material in such an organized matter. When other students didn't understand she took the time (but not too much) to explain to them in simpler terms. Really made an 8am Methods class fun! The tests are application (no scantron) so know your stuff and you'll do fine. You need to go to ALL classes or you'll be confused.

Dr. Kontos is extremely helpful. Although I found the class difficult to obtain an A. Everyone should at least obtain a C or better. It is a lot of information, but she does a wonderful job explaining difficult concepts

One of my favorite teachers. She made stats easy to understand and a three hour class fun! I got a B+ after getting a D the semester before

Took her for Basic Stats, she made it very clear and was a great teacher. Very nice lady and good person. Grades harshly but it's possible to get an A

Best professor I've had here, and I'm going into my fourth year. She's great... explains things thoroughly and she is always willing to help you if you ask. None of her classes are "easy A's" but she makes it extremely possible to obtain an A in any of her classes. If you actually want to learn something, I'd take her. She's a gem.

Dr. Kontos took stats and made me genuinely excited about it. She could not be more accommodating when extra help is needed and will never make you feel dumb. Absolutely wonderful lady to ever have the chance to meet.

Dr. K is an absolute sweet heart! Before taking stats I was super worried but she is one of the BEST Profs that I have ever had. She is very clear and will do anything so that you understand the material. Very awesome communication skills! Will miss not having Stats with Dr. K! Take her! She is a real gem! 5 star PROF in my book!!

I was so scared of this class but Dr. Kontos teaches it that will ease all anxieties. She is more than willing to help you (I practically lived in her office and email inbox). She is positive, honest, and tells you exactly what is expected. She is truly amazing person and is great at what she does! Take her, you will not regret it.

Sweetest professor I've ever had. I was very nervous going into her class, but she is seriously willing to help anyone who shows her that they care. Attendance is mandatory, don't need the book. Take her for stats, especially if you're not good at math. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! Hands down my favorite professor at Bloom thus far.

Dr. Kontos is by far one of the BEST professors at Bloomsburg, I have had her for stat and now methods. I had a diff prof for stat and had to retake. 1st time I got an F. with Kontos I got a B. She is wonderful. always willing to help. GO TO CLASS. You can tell she loves what she does. Represents Bloom in a postitve way

She is hands down the best professor at BU. Don't need the book. She is the sweetest and most intelligent professor I've met. She elaborated on anything I asked about material taught as well as anything I was curious about. Must pay attention and study to obtain A.

The BEST professor you would ever have the pleasure of having at Bloom. She is hilarious and a high-energy kind of person so she keeps your attention all class. She is very helpful and great at explaining things. Work hard in her class because they are hard in themselves, but she is a great professor so that helps a lot!

AMAZING PROF!!!! She will go above and beyond for you as long as you are also willing to help yourself. Every time I emailed her or showed up to her office hours, I was not disappointed. She always encouraged her students to strive for the very best. I hope to take another class with Dr. K!

Best teacher. She is extremely sarcastic. Always joking around and does a great job relating material to real life. Easy to talk to as an advisor and clearly explains things that you don't understand

Dr. Kontos was extremely helpful and sometimes the material became a little boring, but she is such a great prof that she made it so enjoyable! It was easy to retain info. with all of her examples in class. You get to apply a b mod. program to your lifestyle, ACTUALLY DO IT!! awesome class.

Kontos is hilarious and incorporates personal stories into lectures. So much extra credit offered. Tests can be difficult because she expects a perfect definition to what was taught and has a lot of open ended. You do not need the textbook. Hard to see her during office hours because she is so busy. Such a sweet and caring professor!

Dr. Kontos is an amazing professor and person! She makes the material easy to understand. There are three exams and then the final, and one paper that is split into two parts. There is extra credit offered. She is really funny and will help you with whatever you need!

Dr. Kontos is hands down the best professor I've had at BU. She truly cares about you succeeding in her class. She makes the material super simple which almost guarantees you will do well. Dr. Kontos is one of the best profs I have ever had. Her classes are a lot of fun. She honestly cares about he students and would start our class off by asking us how we were doing. I would highly recommend her class.

PLEASE for the love of god take any class you can with kontos. I have her for psych 101 and if I really wanted to I could attend by zoom and never go to her lectures, but I choose to go to her lectures every Tuesday and Thursday because she is one of the most entertaining and sweetest professors you'll ever have.

Professor Kontos is so far the best teacher I have experienced at bloomsburg. She is very interactive with her students, and gives out extra credit to help boost your grades. The tests are exactly what the lectures are about, which thankfully has no surprises. I definitely will take her classes again in the future!

This was such a fun class to take. Assignments were on Connect, and professor Kontos would always show up for lectures with enthusiasm. Her Tas were very helpful, answering any questions you would have and even holding review sessions. Overall this class is amazing and I would recommend taking it.

I am not a psych major and fully enjoyed Dr. Kontos and her class! It was easy, but I still learned a lot and was interested in what I was taught. Sweet woman and she knows what she is talking about!

Dr. Kontos has a sweet soul and cracks jokes often. Explains many things in detail and answers questions. The course was for Intro to Psych, and she made the course very enjoyable. Will help anyone who needs help and offers extra credit when she can, on assignments and on exams. Everything she teaches is on the exam with no hidden meanings.

Dr. Kontos is one of my favorite professors here and if you have her you will definitely agree. She is absolutely hilarious in class and makes learning about psychology so enjoyable. She's also very passionate about her job and wants all her students to pass.

LOVEEEEEE this professor! She's super funny and explains things well. This is easy to pass but you also genuinely learn from her and she keeps things interesting. Take her if you can she is amazing!

I loved Prof. Kontos! She is a 'tough love' type of professor. Willing to help you, but not hold your hand. Her lectures were entertaining and fun. Homework was simple and based on completion. Tests were only 35 questions but you had to really read or you would make a simple mistake. Review sessions with TAs and very helpful during office hours

She is a great professor and tells lots of stories. I studied for the tests and still got 70s, she is relatable but also her work is difficult. She doesn't give a lot of homework but the studying is a lot, sometimes the stuff you study isn't on the tests.

I loved Professor Kontos! She is extremely funny and makes lectures fun. She gives many opportunities for extra credit as well. Her tests can be confusing but she is always willing to help you figure out the answer. She does not hold your hand, however. If you want an A in the class, you will have to work for it.

Dr Kontos is an absolute pleasure to be in class with. She is one of the funniest professors I've had. She is not very lenient and will only change due dates if its on her account and won't let you miss a test even if you have a sick note. But overall, fantastic lectures and teaching. You will adore her.

Dr. Konots was my professor for Intro to psych. She was great and taught all of the terms during class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you want a good grade then go to class. She also has small extra credit moments for participation or attendance. Great prof overall, would take again.

Awesome Professor, makes lectures fun and very funny. Tests are tough, I studied for all of them and the highest grade I got was an 83%. She gives out a lot of extra credit though, and has TA review sessions for each test. Great professor if you have to take PSY101

I am posting a review because I know Dr. Kontos reads these and would like her to know something. You are the reason I became so good at Behaviorism. A few months after the course, all of it sank in. Thank you for dealing with my problems at the time, COVID had me readjusting. The way your class is set up is very educational. Very good mom too.

Eventhough I got a high D. I want to say she is a great professor. She is a really kind and nice person. I wish she offered more extra credit though.

Dr. Kontos is a very nice and understanding person, if you have any issues she is more than willing to help you out. Her class is very lecture heavy, but she makes the lectures very interesting and funny. You will have to know how to apply knowledge for tests, but they aren't too hard. Show up to class as she does put examples from class on tests.

If you work with her she will work with you and always look for extra credit. If you go to class you will pass or get a decent grade

I had her for my psych 101 as a psych major. She was very funny and a great teacher. She makes it easier to remember things. GO TO CLASS. It is very important to attend. It is not mandatory but this is a very exam heavy grade and you 100% won't do good if you don't pay attention let alone don't go. If you get 100% on your mindtaps it will help ALOT

She's a really kind and silly person. I did not tryhard this class. However, ignore what this professor says about studying. Study everything. If she happens to say "don't worry about this part, there will be only a few questions on the test" ignore that, there will be like 10. Exam atmosphere is disorganized and does not help exam anxiety.
